Word Count: 442 :: Lea's just kind of chilling, doing nothing fun. XD

Her hand was a most distasteful shade of red. Linquilea did not appreciate it.

Bright gold eyes narrowed at the offending paw, her lips twisted into a delicate snarl before her salmon tongue darted out to capture the last drops of blood. She moaned in pleasure as the metallic substance overwhelmed her, the snarl replaced briefly by a small smile. It was the only thing that made her feel alive and slightly normal, like the girl she used to be. How twisted! How utterly sick that she could only find herself when she consumed the blood of others. It was as if she survived on the suffering of others - yes, she could admit that. Suffering and chaos - it was her lifeline, her connection to reality, the only thing that could bring stability to the broken mind.

Unfortunately, she did not have easy access to victims in this land. Her various conquests had provided ample fodder for her twisted pleasures, and living as a loner gave her only the option of Niccolo. The chocolate male had long since grown accustomed to Lea's attacks, though it did not make it any easier on the dark male. His screams could not be stifled as she dug into him, but he did not fight back: it would make it worse, and he was driven by the will to survive and continue to serve the massive woman. Her mind was now eased, though, and Niccolo had been given permission to find a stream and bathe himself. Lea was not concerned about whether or not he would return.

She was now quite bored, though, and she decided to preoccupy herself with shifting back onto four legs. The process took only several minutes, but it gave her chaotic mind something to focus on. It was still a strange sensation three years later, and Linquilea was well aware of the disadvantage of being born a normal wolf. How long ago that had been! The years were slipping by faster and faster, and though she was not feeling the effects of age, she knew she was not the youthful girl she had been. It was strange. Childhood was strange.

Once back in her natural form, the woman stretched into a deep bow, sighing in relief as she felt the bones in her back crack and give instant gratification. The noise was quite pleasurable - it reminded her of the snapping of bones underneath her teeth. But that was for a different time. Linquilea reclined into a comfortable position, and tilted her head in the direction Niccolo had gone. He would be returning soon, and she eagerly anticipated his arrival.

Lillith Alexandria

Trombetta Behr

Word Count → 422 :: Big Grin

She had finally done it. For a week now the red girl had dwelt on the world outside the pack borders. She could nearly see it, that invisible line between rock and shrub. But she had hesitated, the words of her parents echoing in her heave like even her mind was a cave. She was not frightened of punishment, nor the outside, but she found it difficult to go against her parents’ wishes. Finally though she could take no more of it, and the gangly pup slithered past Anathema’s boundaries.

She went at a decent pace, in no true direction, though she made sure to note the position of the sun so that she would be able to find her way back. The forest out here smelled so new, untouched, it was exhilarating. Her shadows followed her, as per usual, though it seemed their numbers were dwindling. Perhaps the others had lost interest in her, allowing their leader, Skrak, his obsession. Some followed him still, but today, the small group dissipated into just the scraggly raven, who followed the girl along until way past Anathema borders, before swooping down to perch upon her boney back. He had begun doing this, and Lillith didn’t mind so much, she found she had a bit of a fondness for the silly bird brain.

Lillith’s large paws carried her swiftly; she had grown immensely in just the past month, and was nearly the size of a adolescent wolf now, though her gangly longs legs and over sized eyes still gave away her true. She was becoming sick of this form, she so much wanted to take on the two legged form of the adults, but she knew she would have to wait.

Her reverie was suddenly broken when Skrak called out, "Fox girl!" and took flight into the trees. The sudden noise startled her slightly, and she lifted her head to growl at the bird slightly. But then, her hazel eyes were drawn down; something had spooked him, but what? Her black nose began working furiously, and there, intermingled with the foliage; the scent of a wolf. Lillith stood very still, honing in on the smell, before moving forward. It was not long before she came upon the woman, lounging again the tree. She was a large and beautiful wolfess, and Lillith was completely taken aback by her visage. She was black, like the darkest night; Lillith had yet to see such an ethereal creature; all she could do was stand there and gawk like a fool.

Word Count: 383 :: Big Grin

The woman did not often have occasion to rest, frequently pushing her body to its utter limits before she took a break. She was not the type to afford herself unnecessary breaks, thinking them an obnoxious waste of time that she would rather not engage in if she had the choice. But sometimes her body needed to pause for a moment and relax, allowing her taught muscles the chance to rejuvenate and return back to their optimal form. When times like this occurred, she was happiest to be on four legs; Linquilea found the bi-pedal form to be useful only at certain opportunities. In her heart, she was a wolf and always would be, and there was no shame in that.

There was, however, shame in forgetting the ancestry of her species. It was a pity that she had seen so much of that since her arrival to this strange area. Perhaps where she was from was slightly less advanced, but Linquilea could not help but begrudgingly admit that it was her preferred form of living. That was not to say the woman was not still aristocratic and powerful - she did not let that particular nuance of her personality often show, though she would readily inform others that they were ignorant if they utterly abandoned their wolfish ways. It did not make sense to her.

Her golden eyes had drifted shut for a moment and her large skull threatened to fall upon her paws, but she held it up with more energy exerted than normal. She was tired - the journey here had been long, and her body was not in its youthful prime anymore. There were times when she felt the tendrils of age curling around her, threatening to pull her down into the syrupy abyss, but Linquilea fought it passionately, and often won.

However, her rest was disrupted by the scent of another creature, unfamiliar and youthful. Golden eyes narrowed as she trained them towards the disruption, following the perfume until her eyes rested upon a young girl gawking at her. "Who goes there?" the woman commanded, standing immediately and bringing herself to her full dominant stature. Dark ears perked forward and her tail curled high above her back as she narrowed her eyes at the adolescent girl. "Name yourself."

Lillith Alexandria

Trombetta Behr

Word Count → 302 :: OOC

The black wolfess was like nothing she had ever seen before. Sure there were dark wolves in Anathema, but none as perfect and dark as this person. A wolf shadow, the queen of shadows; Lillith wondered if she had control over the shadows such as Lillith did. Of course she must, why else would she look this way? A wolf shadow was born to command the lesser shadows, yes it must be true.

Of course it did not take but a moment’s pause for the woman to sense her, and she stood, turning brilliant golden eyes on the girl and becoming the visage of dominance; Lillith nearly melted at her feet, but instead, her tail began to wag slowly as white tufted ears lay back against her head, You’re beautiful… She breathed, completely in awe of the black beauty standing before her. But then, reason began seeping back into the cracks of her mind, and she flicked her ears back up, Lillith. Name yourself. She said, trying desperately to sound as commanding as the woman had before her, though failed pretty miserably, despite a good effort.

Lillith’s eyes then strayed to the woman’s paw, where she spied a distinct color that stood out against the ebony fur; it was blood, still wet, and Lillith became immediately interested, Did you kill something? She asked excitedly. For some reason, death had always been such a fascinated concept to the young pup, and she had dabbled in its complexities before. At one time she had had a collection of dead things; mice, bats, beetles; whatever it was she could get her paws on. She had been scolded for it, but also praised; it had confused her. Now, she was much more careful when she snuffed something’s life out; it was a private joy to her.

Word Count: 360 :: Big Grin

Linquilea was tense as she stared down at the halfling pup, and it was all she could do to keep her thoughts away from them. They would have both been darker, sable and gold where this girl had vibrant shades of red and white; no, her children would never have had those colors. They would have been gold like Jax or black like her, or perhaps a mottled combination of the two. White was unlikely, and if the color did indeed happen it would likely have been in smaller places. They would have been lovely, the best of children and raised in Etienne where their ancestors were...

But this was not the time or place, and though Linquilea had been jerked momentarily from herself she returned to it with no perceptible outward difference except to bathe in the compliment the little girl bestowed her. Of course she was beautiful - there was no debate with that! She took pristine care of her coat, and she was lovely in her own way. She knew she was not particularly sexually desirable, but she preferred it that way: men and their stupid drive was overwhelmingly horrible. She knew that only too well. So flattered and amused was Linquilea by the pup that she didn't even mind the girl - Lilith - demanding her name. Instead, her lips curled into all she could manage of a smile and locked her golden eyes on the pup's. "My name is Linquilea, Lilith. Linquilea de la Rosesanglante." She knew her name was challenging, and Linquilea would be... not impressed, but close to it.

Lea shifted her gaze to her paws momentarily, noticing the blood again before she looked up again at Lilith. "I've killed more things than I can count, girl," she sneered, an arrogant grin on her face. "But this is the blood of my servant, who displeased me." It was true - Niccolo displeased her more often than he convenienced her, but he was a necessary evil. The woman maintained her dominating stature, but she tilted her head to get a better look at the child. "Does that scare you, Lilith?" Linquilea hissed. "It should."

Lillith Alexandria

Trombetta Behr

Word Count → 328 :: Creepy girl...

For a split second, Lillith thought that perhaps the woman would attack her, just as that blonde dog in Anathema had. So far life had taught Lillith that with her curiousity came trouble, but trouble is what the Trombetta girl lived for. But instead of a snarl, the woman grinned, though it was awkward and broken; still, Lillith relaxed, and her white tipped tail wagged with more fervor.

The woman introduced herself with an elegant name and Lillith immediately responded, Pleasure to meet you Linquilea de la Rosesanglante. She said with a small yet stiff bow, as her parents had taught her. The name was not a difficult one for her, for the Behr child knew both German and Italian, so the special tongue used to pronounce foreign sounding names were much easier for her then it would be for other canines.

The woman then explained the blood staining her paw; it was that of her servant, who had displeased her. Lillith cocked her head to the side slightly, wondering if perhaps she had killed him; but where was the body then? While Lillith’s hazel eyes scanned the area for a corpse, the woman then asked if this frighten Lillith, and that it should. The girl turned to look at the woman, No, I’m not afraid. Death is only but a part of life; I have no fear of it. And I’ve seen slaves before; it’s their fault for being weak under their masters. She was reminded of the blonde dog’s coyote slave, how completely sad he was and not even worth a second glance. Lillith knew she would never be that way; she was strong, and her family was strong. Perhaps some day even she would have a slave, that would be fun.

Then, stepping a bit closer, Did you kill the servant? She asked. She had never seen the dead body of a Luperci or wolf, she would really like to see one if she could.

Word Count: 370 ::xx

The girl knew manners, and though Linquilea was uncomfortable around children, she let a small smirk slide across her dark lips. The expression was not entirely malicious, though her face was not built for anything else: it made her look slightly more terrifying than already before. Lilith pronounced her name without trouble, which was a relief - Linquilea was not particularly difficult, but the french surname was a mouthful. But it was a mouthful fit for a queen, which was what Linquilea was. A dark queen, an empress in her own right; a destroying angel cast out from heaven and left to her madness.

Lilith responded that she was unafraid of death, and Linquilea cocked her head to the side, as if considering the strange answer. A child was nothing more than a child, and yet this little one appeared to embrace the dark side of life without trepidation; indeed, she appeared to have some sort of morbid fascination with the subject. Linquilea liked that in the characters she bought close to her, recognizing that as the most important quality when one lived as she did. Life and death had a paradoxical relationship for the dark murderer - she survived on the cessation of life. "You speak as if you have experienced death many times before. Have you lost someone, or have you taken a life?" The dark woman's voice was gravelly, but openly curious about the little child's experiences.

When asked about Niccolo, Linquilea barked a choked laugh, shaking her massive head in regret. "I did not. He did not displease me so extensively so as to warrant that particular honor - no, he is merely injured, and tending to his wounds in a nearby stream. He will return soon enough; he knows better than to disobey me." The dark Queen's words were laced with the threat of destruction for those who disobeyed her - indeed, it was a pastime of hers to ruin those who served no purpose to her. Niccolo would die, in due time; perhaps when she found Halaki, Zeneca, and Twensu. The loyalty of Shandom's children to her was remarkable, and they would serve the dual purpose of bringing the alabaster traitor pain as well.

Lillith Alexandria

Trombetta Behr

Word Count → 305 :: Big Grin

Lillith, finally comfortable that this woman was no going to rip her throat out, sat down a ways a way, but kept muscles tense in case she had to spring. She would always be on the ready now, wary, ever since her encounter with the blonde lady. Everyone had been so nice to her so far, but that meeting had really taught her a lesson, if perhaps not the one the woman had intended. Forever more Lillith would always be a little distrustful of everyone, for everyone held the propensity for evil in their hearts.

The woman commented that Lillith must have experienced death a lot for her to no longer fear, Yes, I’m sure I’ve died and been reborn a lot of times. Lillith said, completely missing the point of what the woman had really meant. Then continuing, My life began with death. My nana, Zera’im, a powerful Shaman, gave her aura power to me when I was just a newborn. Lillith hardly remembered the collie-woman that help birth her, but her mother had told her about the woman many times, and the red pup could just picture her. Now, she was dead and buried, and only earthly possessions left to remember her spirit by.

Then the pup became a little bit less serious, And I’ve killed lots of things! Mice, bats, rats; it fun to chase them, it feels good to catch them. Her face broke out in a grin.

Then Linquilea said that she had not killed her servant, and a part of Lillith was disappointed; she had so wanted to see a dead body. Instead she was told he was a ways off, most likely stuffing his guts back into the cavity of his body. In response to her words though, Lillith said, Cool… Lillith was indeed enamored with this woman.

Word Count: 312 :: she's a crazy person. D:

The girl relaxed, and Lea tensed slightly; her lips wanted to curl into a snarl. How dare the girl take such liberties around her - Lilith was a child faced with a threat, and the dark woman was astounded at her stupidity. The self-proclaimed Queen's hackles rose slightly in irritation, and for a moment her pearly white teeth were visible, but she was not otherwise outwardly cruel to the girl. It was simply a reminder of who dominated the conversation, and the submission Linquilea would require from this little girl. She'd made an intelligent decision by keeping a distance, but the dark killer was still displeased. That was, of course, her natural state of being.

Lilith appeared to associate some sort of spirituality with death, and while it did not answer Linquilea's original question it gave her greater insight into the character of the puppy. It explained the strange, mature aura she possessed, though the Queen herself did not believe in such things. "And so you feel connected to it," Linquilea stated, mostly for herself. But her eyes were focused on the little ginger puppy, examining her and attempting to picture the girl once she grew older. Would she be large, like Lea? Would she be apt in fighting? These were questions that could not be answered with a child so small. "But you have not experienced the half of it, little girl. Killing mice, rats, rabbits, and other such creatures - it is what our species was designed to do. We are the deadly predators of old times. No, the truly satisfying part is when you take a life that matters - when you watch intelligent life escape dying eyes, then you know power."

Speaking of it, Linquilea felt alive. Her voice was more animated than normal, and her face was lit more than normal. She emanated a strange, fiendish glee.

Lillith Alexandria

Trombetta Behr

Word Count → 270 :: Yay for psychopathic puppies!

Lillith did not miss the slick raise of the woman’s hackles, nor did she miss the shift in the woman’s aura. Lillith tense again then, rising slightly to her feet; Linquilea obviously did not like the pup relaxing before her. But the red girl listened to the woman with perked ears, listened as she spoke of how the things Lillith had killed were mere tastes of what it was truly like to kill something. Lillith felt her heart beat quicken, her adrenaline rising, both from fear as well as complete excitement. The idea that Lillith was born a deadly predator did not scare the girl in the least bit.

Standing all the way then she took several steps towards the woman, making sure to flatten her tufted white ears against her head and tuck her tail, Can you show me? She asked eagerly. Ever since she had watched her father kill the rabid cat several weeks ago she had been enamored with death. How did it feel to kill something that could look at you with knowing eyes as it died? Lillith knew she could never speak to her mother or father about these feelings, but this dark woman was different.

Lillith’s eyes darted around her for a moment, I want to kill someone, show me how to kill someone. Her voice was timid though, for even though the thought of killing someone aroused her she was still young and knew nothing of murder. The only idea of death she had was what she had witnessed; the quite death of an old woman, and the slaughtering of a ravaging wild-cat.

Word Count: 309 :: Bad. Really bad. Sorry. D:

The girl picked up on cues, and that was a bit of a relief. Linquilea smirked slightly as the pup adopted a less relaxed stance, acknowledging that she was the inferior in this situation. Linquilea could so easily kill her - golden eyes showed no shift, but the dark woman briefly considered the ways in which she could destroy this little girl. It would be easy due to the eagerness and excitement that radiated from her, but the black woman held no desire for this girl's blood today. No, instead she was fascinated by the creature, much like she had been with the Qi'Vaex children. There was something about her - something dark and cruel, something that could be molded - that made Linquilea take a second thought to consider what better use she could create for Lillith.

Lilith wanted to learn how to kill. She was so eager, so ready to sacrifice her soul to the malignant dark - and Linquilea would be more than happy to be the vessel that transported her to the other side. This fox-child would know power and greatness if she stayed under Linquilea's watchful eye - but she would be a tool to the dark Empress, like all the rest of the children she manipulated and ruined. Her smirk deepened, and the dark woman nodded. "I will show you, child. Come, but do not make a sound. Keep your pawsteps quiet." Linquilea stood and stretched briefly before picking up a brisk trot, her footfalls quiet against the earth as she padded her way into the depths of the forest.

Her golden eyes were narrowed and her dark body was streamlined for the hunt. Linquilea could feel the adrenaline rising through her veins and her heart beat ever faster as she anticipated the dark, canine blood that would briefly satiate her twisted needs.

Lillith Alexandria

Word Count → 262 :: Out of Character text

For a moment the glint in the woman’s eyes changed, and Lillith nearly ran for it. But then, she stood and beckoned the red girl to follow quietly. After the pup’s initial shock at the size and androgyny of the woman faded, she was obedient and followed the woman into the scrub of the forest. It was difficult to be as quiet as the sable female, for her paws were large and her legs gangly, and every time she snapped a twig or bumped a bough she flinched and looked to Linquilea to see if she would snap.

Something about this woman was so dangerous and unpredictable that Lillith felt completely alert and attentive, a state which the young pup had found difficult to maintain in mundane every encounters. It seemed the girl was not easily aroused, and so sought out everything that would make her heart beat. And beating it was doing now, at an accelerated pace, as the pup’s mind spun with whirling thoughts of blood and death.

They did not go long before the woman slowed and so did the Behr child. The older female stood frozen, eyes trained on a clearing just beyond a large wall of brush before them. Lillith’s hazel eyes peered through the foliage as well, and managed to spot a flash of ruddy orange fur. It was a fox. Slowly, like a blossom opening its petals in the morning sunlight, the crimson main on the pup rose until she looked much large then she actually was. She looked up at the woman for guidance.

The child was, of course, a novice. Linquilea was made extremely aware of this as she heard the crunching of leaves and twigs behind her as Lilith's overgrown feet stumbled over the earthen ground. Dark ears flattened in irritation against her massive skull as the dark Queen whipped her head around briefly to lift her lips to the oddly colored child in a silent, bud dangerous, snarl. She would not speak - it would ruin the integrity of the hunt - but Linquilea was clearly encouraging the little girl to pay greater attention to her pawsteps. It was the first lesson she could teach her, if Lilith were truly interested in the fine art of murder. Hunting canines was much like hunting anything else, though the reward was truly sweeter. The first, and most important lesson, was silence.

It was not long before the duo stumbled upon the scent of a canine, and Linquilea stopped rather abruptly. Her ears were tilted forward in eager anticipation, and she leaned forward ever so slightly to bring herself closer to the scent. She took a deep breath, reveling in the intoxicating scent. It wasn't a wolf or coyote, something she would have infinitely preferred, but instead a fox. They were small creatures, smaller than Lilith, and lesser beings - Linquilea did not see them as equals. But their eyes held intelligence, and this one would lose its eye and heart before the hour was over.

Turning to look at Lilith, Linquilea cocked her head to encourage the little girl to move forward. But her eyes warned the girl to be silent, quieter than she'd been before. If she made as much noise as she had on the way to this fox, it would make the hunt more difficult - though not impossible. Tilting her head slightly, Linquilea silently encouraged the pup to circle quietly around the back of the fox. The Queen herself would move slightly forward, and if Lillith was worth anything, she would coerce the fox towards Lea. Lea would then pounce and grab the fox with her teeth - her size gave her a distinct advantage over these smaller creatures - and pin the thing to the ground, where she would allow the pup a killing blow. If Lillith were sloppy, however, Lea would be forced to do the bulk of the work herself. Including the kill.

Lillith Alexandria

The dark wolfess urged Lillith forward with a nudge of her head, and Lillith slowly, ever so slowly, moved forward and to the side. The fox was very preoccupied with digging a shallow grave for a half-eaten varmint of some kind, and Lillith managed to exit the brush and come up right behind the fox before something gave her away; sound, scent, she wasn’t sure, but the fox suddenly lifted its head, caught sight of Lillith and froze.

For a moment, the two red creatures started at each other; the look in the fox’s eyes was not one of fear, but of surprise and curiosity; it obviously did not see the red wolf pup before it as a threat. Lillith looked at it with an expression completely devoid of emotion; this vixen would be the first creature she ever murdered; not killed, not hunted; but murdered. She raised her black lips then, revealing white, sharp teeth, and let out a guttural snarl and lunged.

The look in the fox’s eyes shifted immediately to panic and it cried out, "NO!" before it was silenced forever under Lillith’s jaws. The pup was able to lift the female fox and shook her violently, listening as spine and ribs cracked under the sudden motion. It went limp then, and from the bite wounds spurted blood, which stained Lillith’s white maw red; she licked at it before lifted her head to look at where Linquilea was watching.

Lillith had caught on rather easily, and Linquilea almost grinned. Her golden eyes followed the little red creature as she slunk away towards the fox, and the midnight queen wondered if this strange child would be able to do what she claimed she wanted to do so badly. It was an interesting thing, killing a sentient being. Murder was not something that came easily to all creatures. Linquilea was blessed with the ability to do so without remorse, to do so to gain joy in fact, but it was different for everyone. Each creature had its own connection with the bridge between this world and the next, and while Lillith might think herself ready to experience the transition, Lea would have to see it for herself in order to believe anything.

She slipped away to herd the fox, but it seemed to be preoccupied enough that Lillith would be able to take it down without much work on her part. Lea's breath hitched for a moment in anger and anticipation when she saw the two lock eyes, and her lips prepared to lift in a disgusted snarl. But it was a brief moment of anticipation and nervousness before Lillith snarled, exposing small and dangerous teeth for the fox to see. It spoke its final word - no, the cry of the dying - before strong and young jaws clamped around the throat, silencing it permanently. A spray of metallic blood, the small shift in the air that signified a soul being torn from its body, and it was done.

"Well done," Linquilea stated simply, her gravelly tones void of inflection. She stepped over to the fallen creature, moving rather delicately and smoothly when considering her massive size, and nudged the fox with her nose before snapping at it with her own strong, dark jaws to ensure its death. Blood flowed into her mouth for a moment, and the woman felt a perverse sort of relief at its pungent taste. "It is dead. It is not a wolf, but it is done. Tell me, Lillith - how do you feel?" Golden eyes met the girl's own pools as Linquilea searched for something within the little creature.

Lillith Alexandria

Lillith took a step back and watched as Linquilea came over to gnaw at her kill. Her eyes were wide and glazed over, the words that the dark wolfess spoke sounded as if they were underwater. It seemed the whole world was in a haze and Lillith could not keep from staring at the broken body of the fox. She could have sworn she saw the shadow soul of the vixen fly from the body into the tree tops, perhaps to become one of the ravens that followed her.

Lillith then realized her name had been said, and a question had been asked of her, and that she had been holding her breath, which came crashing out in a large whoosh as she looked up to the sable female. How did she feel? I feel… She paused, her mind working to catch the flitting emotions within her chest and identify them, I feel… Alive. She said. It was the best description she could come up with. She did not feel remorse for the murder, nor excitement, nor elation; what she felt was the sense of being alive, that she remained in the light realm while the fox entered the shadow realm. It was an interesting sensation, and one that Lillith very much enjoyed.

Word Count: xx :: Didn't see your reply. D: Sorry lady. This is also revoltingly short, and I apologize.

Every creature's blood tasted slightly different. The metallic sweet tang was identical from life to life, but there was a strange nuance that permeated the blood of different animals. Linquilea had long ago discovered that she enjoyed the taste of wolf blood particularly, having found that coyotes. jackals, foxes, and dogs did not hold the same satisfaction for her. But the great woman still licked her chops and savored the taste that seeped down her throat, and she supposed today was a relatively good day. This death, even though she held little part in it, would satiate her for several days to come.

The look on Lillith's face reminded Lea of how she must have felt the first time she took a life and felt the power seeping through her veins and changing her very identity. It was a strange feeling, knowing that your entire soul had just been altered rather irreparably, but typically it was for the best. The dark Queen smirked slightly at her newest protege, slightly relieved that she would not have to kill this child for her weakness. You may take a trophy from the body, if you wish, or leave it be - it is your decision. Linquilea's words were soft and clipped as her golden eyes moved restlessly from the dead creature to Lillith.
