Dated April 11th. Salvia was grievously wounded in the attack; she has been unconscious for two days. Though this has not occurred in the thread yet, Larkspur has been killed and Basilaris captured--I'd prefer someone related to her deliver the news. Libri, Sie, and Alaine have the fist crack at this; after three days I'll make it AW.

In her dreams, there was fire and water.

Salvia knew darkness as she had never known it before. She was roaming deep, empty forests and chasing a phantom. A shade led her on, a figure of smoke and of the blackness that lived between stars. Her feet trudged through knee-deep water and her lungs burnt with hot smoke. There was no way to call to him; she had tried, but her voice was gone. Then, suddenly, he turned on her—his eyes were the color of hot coals, black laced by red and orange and flickering, changing. She knew his name then, and felt fear as she had felt it only once before.

She woke with a start and felt hot pain race through her body. It was unbearable and a sharp series of whines escaped her throat before she knew it. The cause was bandaged carefully, treated with moss and herbs and some sweet-smelling plant that only did so much to hide the blood. Salvia instinctively wished to remove the wrap, but she did not. It circled her breasts and went over one shoulder. One hand rose to touch it gingerly and the dream, the fight, and the terror came back in a single rush.

The Arbiter was on her feet, staggered, and hit a wall. She was in the clinic. “Odessa,” she called, and felt her throat ache with soreness. Her voice sounded like sandpaper. “Someone!” She shouted, and felt her body begin to tremble.
