felt the branches of it looking at me

(--) I love the way they're treating Col. XD

Ithiel is by Raze!

The dust-colored hybrid nodded and went to his own duties, continuing the work of tying leaves about the frame. Every now and again, he glanced upward into the higher reaches of the trees, making sure the pair of women were alright. He was close enough to the base of the tree that he had a good glance of catching one if she took a tumble, but he was not absolutely certain he was capable of such a feat. Still, he'd try.

He stood and moved to the other side of his frame, wrapping the leaves and branches in and through them. The vines would be good to get from Halifax, too -- they would be self-renewing and also perhaps help to secure the frame to the tree, wrapping around and around the trunk and through the branches. This was a distant fantasy, however, and the dust-hued coyote and his fellows must make do with what they had at the moment. He glanced upward again and saw Sparrow looking toward him. The dust-hued male offered a reassuring nod and the hint of a smile, then glanced toward his Optio to check their progress.

Big Grin I figure that we could end after another round of posts or here or whatever you guys want; it would be repetitive to keep mentioning the same process over and over.

Despite formerly only knowing her as another non-luperci, Vesper found that the image of her sister stealing up into trees to snatch eggs not hard to imagine. She’d always wondered at how well Sparrow had been able to take care of herself without others to hunt for her, although she’d recognized how cruel the question was and had never asked. She had to admire her sister’s resilience, however, something she didn’t know the small coywolf had in her. It was amazing that both of them had survived long enough to be reunited in Inferni.

Sparrow took the rope and demonstrated the knot. Her fingers made it loop and turn and fall into intricate patterns, but she moved slowly and clearly enough for the Optio to understand, and she was nodding as she finished. However, as Sparrow pulled the end and dissolved the whole thing, her blue eyes narrowed as if she was witnessing some kind of sorcery.

“Don’t know how you do it,” Vesper muttered to her, her tone a mixture of respect and teasing disapproval. She was able to reconstruct what her sister had made, although she waited for some sign that she’d done it right before moving on with the rest of the rope. She worked on her end of the frame, tying the woven camouflage onto the archery base, until she was finished. Ducking down, she called out to Ithiel. “We’re ready for another.”
