WC: 000+ OOC Stuff?

How long had it been since he'd seen her on the borders, threatening and disparaging his leader? It felt like mere hours. It had been too recent, he was certain. He was on his hands and knees, digging out the dead leaves from the roses. Those roses. He'd planted them for Sky. He scowled as he began pulling out handfuls of dead leaves and weeds, swearing as he ripped the flesh of his thumb open on a thorn. He jerked his hand back, swearing a colorful oath as he glared at the offending bush. He pointed a finger at the bush. I swear, I'll rip you out by the roots if you do it again.

Myrddin lifted his head, his mismatched eyes watching his father with some amusement. Does swearing and yelling make them grow better, Poppa? Sheba curled into the younger male, purring, a laugh evident on the calico's face, though she didn't speak. Sheba had yet to speak for anyone to hear, except maybe to Myrddin. Since Sky had left the two males originally, Sheba had grown closer and closer to the Rhiannon boy.

Tal shook his head. No, and I shouldn't use words like that anyway. They're naughty words. He glanced at his son and the cat, then back at the bushes, running his fingers through his shaggy short mane in frustration. After a moment, he settled back on his heels. Guess that's enough for the day, anyway, he muttered, still glaring balefully at the offending rosebush.

~Yay you get a Honrin, warning, weirdness ahead.
316

Loud swearing caught his attention. It was crude and he appeared irritated for the use of it, ears flicking back against his head briefly. Honrin disliked swearing, it was unnecessary in his eyes. Hawk's gaze tore through the underbrush outside of his home, the house of his mother where he sat, a silent predator. The voice was known to him, the pale male that had come to see them at the borders with Alpha Leader Skye. A younger voice accompanied the first, childish and innocent sounding. Whereas another boy might have been enticed to come closer for the promise of playtime but Honrin wasn't drawn to the lure of children his own age or anyone apart from his family for that matter. The only ones he played with were his sisters for the time being.

But his curiosity if nothing else was piqued and his partially floppy ears found their way north again. The boy who was quickly becoming more than a boy stood and disentangled himself from the thorny underbrush, the dagger like spines finding no way through his thick, arctic inherited fur. As he moved closer to the pair he could feel the draining effects of what was wrong with him sucking out the emotion from his chest, leaving him unsettled and his souls cold, shivering in the blackness. The Lights shrank back and the Shadows came to the fore, this was the dark time where they flourished, how he hated those Shadows. His paws made little noise against the ground, padded as they were to trek through deep snow and so the boy would remain relatively silent and thus unknown to the two strangers unless they were to turn and see him or the wind should change and his scent blown ahead of him. His face was a blank emotionless mask even as his eyes glowed brilliant amber with the light from within.

Dalgina wanted to go play with Honrin. She had been in her room, day dreaming about the lights. She liked the lights, even if she'd never seen them. The black pup rarely went far from her family, and when she did it was to be by herself, looking at the beauty that the world had filled with. She wanted the comfort of her brother though, and to be told about the soft lights that brought good things. It scared her sometimes, but she did like it. It kept the nightmares away when she asked Honrin to do that.

Trotting out of the house she spotted her brother. He was moving along silently, expression empty. It didn't scare her, used to such things as she was. Dalgina was more curious about what had brought this out. He must have seen something interesting. Trotting over to Honrin's side she bumped him gently, tail wagging. Dalgina glanced over, spotting the white wolf with the creamy pup that had been there when they'd first arrived. Part of her wanted to go over and say hi, but the shy nature that had been building kept her at Honrin's side, unwilling to step forward.

Myrddin's mismatched eyes glittered with a laugh, even as he stood to walk over to his father. A movement caught his eyes, and he looked around until he saw what had caught his eyes. Two wolves, the ones nearly his age, stood nearly hidden. Sheba made a soft noise and vanished into the house as if the boy seeing the others had been enough for her. "Poppa, they're here." Tal felt an absurd hope it was Sky and their other two offspring, even as the bitterness of knowing she was exiled from D'Arte arose in his throat.

He turned, scanning the area the Myrddin had gestured to. His eyes, keen as the were, overlooked the two that were almost the same age of his own son. "Hello? Who's out there?" The Rhiannon adult wasn't expecting anyone to be hiding, he was used to the pack just coming straight to his door for help. He was, after all, the pack healer and Protettore. He stood then, bushing off his knees, missing the minute smear of red from the weeping cut on his thumb. As he was satisfied with the dirt being removed from his knees, he turned and faced his son, arching an eyebrow.

His smaller beloved sister appeared next to him and he turned to send her a crooked smile, warmth flooding back into him and chasing away the soul chills he had. He wriggled his toes, appreciating the sudden lack of cold. His skin still prickled though with the presence of someone nearby, someone unloved and therefore outside of his emotional range. He couldn't forget it or ignore it even, such was his curse. Then the smaller boy turned and caught sight of them and alerted his father. Honrin was almost disturbed the the sight of the younger child and he didn't know why, it made for a very frustrating set of emotional cues.

The larger white male turned around too, looking for them and yet somehow not seeing them standing in the thorny bushes. Honrin pushed himself a step forwards, distinguishing himself from the surrounding bushes and also leaving Dalgina behind a little. The effects were immediate and he found himself soul cold again. His eyes blank of anything, even curiosity, with their unnatural almost unearthly glow from within. His body remained tense from a physical point, he was prepared to run or to protect Dalgina although he couldn't really see this man who was friends with his mother hurting them.

They were spotted! Dalgina pushed herself further into Honrin's side, waiting for her brother to take the lead in what they should do. She counted on him being wiser than herself, as she always had proven herself to be more foolish, wandering around in the midst of day dreams and perpetually finding herself lost. Honrin at least had his head screwed on, knowing what to do with himself and giving a clear path for Dalgina to follow. It wasn't difficult for Dalgina to begin to follow others that were there, even if she often left them to follow her own pursuits of whatever had captured her mind for the moment.

Called and asked who was there Dalgina wondered if she should speak up. It was getting harder and harder for her to do that as time went on, her voice slowly disappearing inside herself. She talked happily with her family, and did share what she thought about with her friends, but with strangers it was very difficult for her. Dalgina trotted out a short distance after Honrin, tail wagging at the familiar greeting words. [span title="I come with good will.]Kanyana.[/span] She wasn't too sure what else to say, knowing they knew her name.

He saw the two younger wolves come out of hiding, and gave them a smile. Honrin and Dalgina, two of Jace's offspring. Myrddin bounded forward to touch noses with the somewhat older wolves in what passed as an acceptable greeting to him. "What's Kanyana mean? It sounds pretty." His tail wagged agerly on seeing his slightly older friends.

Tal searched his mind, looking to see if he knew the word the pups had used. He didn't know it, but it didn't sound like what he would consider a threatening or non-cordial word. His tail wagged easily as he dipped his head in greeting. "Sorry, I didn't see the two of you there. Feel free to come closer. Myrddin and I were just thinking about getting something to eat and drink, you are welcome to join us."

Myrddin glanced to his poppa with a laugh, knowing the respected male was telling a little fib, but not calling him out on it. "Poppa makes a jerky with yummy berries in it."
#8
She came forwards again with him and again helped ease away the cold, deadness that filled him. He was as grateful for her presence as if she had done him a favor of great importance which she did and continued to do, gave him back his personality. It would enough to let him greet the younger child with some measure of enthusiasm, bumping noses back and letting his tail even wag a little.

"It means, I come with good will or faith. It's the language our mother speaks in, Denahlii Svinka Tokolra." He knew this much from the stories she told them on a night, stories of the goddess Artoi and her mate, of the Great Mother who loved every being and who created everything. His ears pulled forwards intently at the invitation to join them, he looked at Dalgina wondering what she would think, Myrddin spoke about something called jerky and Honrin's expression creased,

"What's jerky?" Jace was not the greatest of cooks when the Denahlii family did decide to cook their food, a lot of the time they ate their food raw as nature intended them.

Dalgina pulled back a little as Myrddin came forwards before pressing down, letting her nose touch his. She sniffed at him, letting her tail wag a little, if still shy in her actions. Myrddin's enthusiasm was quickly warming her up, tail picking up speed as they were asked what kanyana meant. Honrin answered cheerfully, Dalgina nodding. It's like namaste. Namaste wasn't from Mahn's tongue, but it had a similar meeting, Dalgina thought.

The invitation to take something to eat with them was met by a shared glance between the two. Emboldened by Honrin's actions Dalgina stepped forwards, tail wagging. Sounds nice. She looked at the berries, wondering how they could possibly become something other than what they were. Perhaps they were transformed by singing. That would be pretty neat. Or grabbed and stretched, changing what it was.
