Word Count :: +3 So...she's going out to the area to start working Smile

Dixie-May wasn’t really sure who was supposed to go with her to the coast to get the ring area ready, but she figured that they’d just meet her out there when the time came. The small woman had no problem with working along for a while if need be. There would be two horses there to help anyway, and everyone knew that she could hang out with horses just as much as luperci without a problem. Her small saddle was put onto Duke’s back along with a few long strands of rope, a bag of food, deer skin gloves and a stomach skin pouch filled with fresh water from their stream.

Hopping up onto the stallion’s back, she yipped softly and bounced a bit when the horse began to move in the direction of the other horses. Bark, the steadily growing colt, came trotting up and lifted his head happily, resting his nose on the girl’s thigh. She smiled and scratched his head a few times before slipping a halter over his ears and nose, securing it and holding onto the end as she turned Duke in the other direction. It was time to get the large colt used to physical work, so he’d be helping with moving large rocks and leveling the ground.

Bark whickered softly to his mother to say goodbye as he followed after Dixie and Duke, hooves lifting happily in a silly prancing trot. He was excited to be going out again with the woman and his horse friend, they always had fun together. After the attack on the pack, Fern had been keeping a close eye on her baby, she was just now relaxing enough for anyone to take the youngster away for any length of time. Digging her heels gently into Duke’s sides, she encouraged him to move faster and leaned forward slightly when he eased into a gentle lope. They’d get to their destination within a few minutes if they kept up the steady pace.

She was an adult now, shifted into optime form. Or at least, she was supposed to be. Adelle had managed to shift into secui form, but had gotten distracted along the way. She was helping make a sparring ring, one that she could practice fighting in. Adelle was going to be sure to do that. There was no way that she was going to not do everything she could to help her become the best warrior. Running towards the area Adelle had been told that they would be building the ring at her tail wagged wildly. Dixie was up ahead.

The large pup let out a joyful bark, her large secui form allowing her to pull up beside the horses. Dixie! You're helping build it too? They were no longer the same size, Adelle joining the giants of the pack that stood over the white female. Adelle was a bit confused about why Dixie was so short, but had quickly accepted it as one of those things that just were. The true shock would only come when she left her pack and found out how tall she truly was. I'm helping too.

Isa was still in heat so she did her best to keep her distance from Jazper and the others, which is why she had offered to help build a sparring ring with Dixie and Adelle. The young girl was already like a daughter to Isa, so she was excited to get to work with her, but she also wouldn’t be around any males. It would make it much easier for her to get things done without being distracted. It was good that Hadley wasn’t there either. Know him though, he was probably somewhere close by to watch over her like the protective man he was. He didn’t seem to want any other male around her at all, which was fine with her since her mind was usually clouded from all the hormones, but every once in a while she needed a break.

The silver woman caught up with the other two at the area they would be building the ring at. Isa smiled at Adelle before giving reaching a hand out to affectionately scratch the pups ears. She looked up at Dixie, knowing she was of higher ranking. What would you like me to start with Dixie? Isa would let her give the orders, not wanting to seem disrespectful.

this should be interesting Smile / +3

The sound of soft paw pads coming up from behind the horses had their ears flicking back and forth. Dixie caught the movement and peeked over her shoulder, grinning widely upon seeing the youngster catching up. She was huge now, having finally started her shifting. The white female sighed softly as she took in the pup’s gigantic body in the secui form. If she was already this big…and still had time to keep growing, she would be massive when she was finally fully grown. Comparable to Jazper and Anann, easily, and just another Luperci that outsized the small Samoyed mix by a very large scale.

Hey there, Adelle…yes, ma’am! The ring down here is all ours for the next few days, I reckon we best get to work quickly and get the job done. There is a lot more work to be done elsewhere. They reached the spot that had been marked off where the ring was to be constructed and Dixie pulled the horses to a stop, sitting atop Duke’s back up high to get a good look at the ground surrounding. There were large rocks all over the place, small boulders that would need to be moved if they were going to have anywhere to actually spar and train.

Another set of feet approached, along with a cloying scent that Dixie wasn’t very familiar with. She knew what it was and what it meant, but had yet to experience it herself. Turning slightly in the saddle, she grinned down at the female that had joined them, happy that Adelle and Ismeme got along so well. It was always good to have friends working together instead of enemies. Things got done a lot quicker that way.

Dixie’s head dipped in greeting to the other woman, a small frown pulling at her mouth when she was asked for direction. Hmmm…well, I guess we need to get ta movin’ all them real big rocks first, gotta clear out a big circle and then make a fence of sorts with the rocks that we move…make sense? Honestly, she wasn’t even sure if it made sense to herself, but she’d go along with it and hope that they were doing it right.

Her tail wagged boisterously, spirit raised by Dixie's cheerful response. They'd work together on the ring no problem! It was theirs after all. Adelle knew that there were other projects going on, but wasn't sure how she could possibly help out with them. It was nice to be able to help with the ring, having volunteered quite eagerly for it. Adelle would do everything she could, and learn about using her hands. They reached a stony area, slightly flat with large boulders running across it. At least, they looked large to her.

A very funny scent wafted through the air, Adelle turning to figure out what it was. Her tail wagged as she saw Isa, though she was very confused about why Isa's scent had changed. Stepping over she sniffed at her friend. Why do you smell funny? Glancing over at the orders Adelle nodded her head in agreement. She concentrated on entering optime form, bones slowly lengthening. Short black hair came down, waving around her face. Her tail wagged eagerly as she moved over to the rocks and began pushing to roll a boulder out of the clearing, not yet realizing it probably wouldn't work to do that.

OOC here!

Dixie seemed unsure of what to start with as well. She suggested moving the larger rocks first before they could work on the rest. Isa listened quietly as she spoke and nodded when the woman was finished. Makes sense to me. It shouldn’t be too difficult to get the job done.

Adelle moved closer to her and started sniffing, no doubt trying to figure out what the scent was the Isa carried. Don’t worry about the scent Adelle, I’ll tell you about it another time perhaps. For now, we have to get to work. Isa wasn’t entirely sure how to explain the situation she had been in for the past couple of weeks, or if she even should tell Adelle about it. The pup was still fairly young. Oh well, it wasn’t important. Adelle shifted into Optime, looking like the beautiful young woman she was. Isa watched as the girl attempted to roll one of the boulders out of the way. It barely moved so Isa came up beside the girl and started pushing as well. The rock was moving, but it was still rather slow. Isa wasn’t sure how else to move them though, having never done anything like it before.

Dixie simply sat up on Duke and watched, grinning, as the two larger females moved towards the large rocks and tried pushing one out of the way. She let them attempt for a minute or so before giggling and clicking to the stallion, letting him walk closer to the girls. Ismeme…If you could just tie this rope around the fattest part of the rock? Then you two can push while Duke here pulls… Her light green eyes lit up and she hopped down from the saddle, making sure the other end of the rope was secured tightly.

Another rope was taken and tied to another rock, slightly smaller than the first, and she formed a harness of sorts over Bark’s shoulders with his lead and the rope. He was a huge, growing colt, and moving these things shouldn’t pose any problem for him. Patting his bottom gently, she walked back over to Duke and rubbed his face, peeking under to make sure the rock was tied before tugging on the reins lightly. The stud snorted a little and took a few steps, easily tugging the boulder from the sand and dragging it a few feet before she stopped him.

Um…okay, well it will probably be better to clear the smaller ones first I guess…I’m sorry. The horses will have a hard time walking with all of the smaller stones around. Dropping the reins, she knelt down and began grabbing rocks with both hands and tossing them as hard as she could. The things flew through the air and crashed down on other rocks some distance away, the loud noise pleasing to her ears. Another apologetic glance was sent towards the other females, she felt bad for making them start with the large stones when the others clearly needed moving beforehand.

Adelle frowned at the given answer. She wanted to know now. Surely they could talk while working? Yes, the boulder was heavy and refusing to move, but surely Isa could tell her. She wasn't a child anymore. She was shifted, a full fledged adult. Giggles stopped the pup from continuing to push, looking over at Dixie. Her tail swished at the words, getting in the way as the rope was secured. As soon as it was ready Adelle began to push again. It moved! In her excitement Adelle almost let go, but remembered at the last moment and continued on.

Disappointment shone in her eyes when they stopped. Well, clearing away the smaller stuff would be easier. Shrugging she grabbed the rocks and began tossing them. Deciding that if Isa wouldn't give her an answer Dixie would she worked through the stones until she was in whisper range. Throwing the rocks was fun, almost a game to make the loudest noise, and throw as large a one as you could find. Turning she quietly whispered. Dixie, why does Isa smell different?

OOC here!

Ismeme looked up as Dixie giggled, bringing Isa’s ears to flatten against her head in embarrassment. She kept quiet and nodded as she took the rope from Dixie. She secured it around the fattest part of the rock and nodded to the woman again once she was finished. Her and Adelle pushed the boulder as the horse pulled, slowly moving the rock out of the way. The pup beside Isa seemed excited at their success but soon enough, Dixie suggested moving the smaller rocks instead.

Isa nodded again, not feeling angry, upset, or anything about switching tasks. She was simply following orders, something she was used to doing. Isa quickly stared throwing the smaller rock out of the way, a loud noise being created as they hit the other rocks nearby. It didn’t take long until Adelle moved over to Dixie and whispered something to her. With a smirk on her face, Isa looked over at the young woman. Adelle, I’ll explain tomorrow, when we aren’t busy working. Is that alright? The pups curiousity certainly amused the silver woman, but having never had to explain something like that to another before, she wasn’t quite sure how to tell Adelle. With a smile on her face, Isa got back to work, clearing all the smaller rocks out.

Adelle’s approach had the small woman chuckling along with Ismeme. The pup would have to learn that when one adult said no, she wouldn’t get her way by going to someone else who already heard the first answer. Dixie remembered trying that with her parents as a little pup…and getting in a lot of trouble for it. Ma and Pops hadn’t ever tolerated stuff like that from their, or anyone’s, children.

Looking over at the multicolored girl, she snorted and shook her head a little, still tossing rocks out of the way. Within a few minutes they had a patch cleared, which was a good sign and had her spirits lifting. Sorry, hun. Isa said later, so I’ll just have to decline tellin’ ya anything. Not my place to tell anyway. Another grin was tossed to the two females before she turned and began working in another direction, trying to get more rocks out faster. This whole thing wasn’t a hard job, and she wanted to get it done quickly.

The barn was really where she wanted to be, even though she knew that her small stature would be of no real help there. Worry about how it would be built, and how it would house her horses had her nervous. Hopefully Wayne would be able to ease her worries later on.

She was caught! Adelle ducked down, glancing over with a sheepish expression. She had thought that Isa wouldn't be able to hear her over the rocks being thrown. She had even whispered to make sure. The giggles shared between the older females left Adelle with distaste in her mouth. She was being left out from something, even though she was grown up. A deep sigh came through her, returning to the game of throwing the rocks. They continued to clatter around, Adelle careful to throw the rocks away from the horse and far out of the area they were working on.

It wasn't the most thrilling thing she'd ever done. Her arms started to ache after a while, unused to such work. Patches were clear of rock, but there was still more to go. Adelle had to continually remind herself that they would have a sparring ring for her to fight in at the end for her to keep going. It was rather dull work, but she was an adult, and would do an adult share of the work, moving until every single last rock was cleared. Sitting up Adelle beamed over the area, tired from the time spent but glad that it was over.

OOC here!

Isa watched as Dixie shook her head and told Adelle that she wouldn’t tell her why the silver woman smelled different. The young girl ducked down and gave Isa a sheepish grin. It was actually pretty cute, but it wouldn’t get Isa to tell her just yet. She agreed to tell her another time and she would, first, they had to finish their job.

Isa turned her attention back to the rocks, quickly clearing away the rest of them. The building of the ring wasn’t that hard of a job and was getting done rather quickly. Isa was a little sore in her arms, having not worked her muscles for a little while. She stepped back to look over their work. The larger rocks would need to be moved out of the way still. Want to use the horse to help get the bigger ones out of the way?

short posts yay! Tongue / +--

Dixie was very pleased with how efficiently the other females worked together. Small rocks had been cleared in a very large circle, at least fifteen feet by fifteen feet, and she’d expand upon that a little bit at a later date. At the moment, they would need to begin moving the larger rocks to the outer edges of the circle. When Ismeme looked over and asked about it, Dixie nodded and walked over to Duke, stroking her hands over his neck gently before asking him to walk.

The smallish sized stallion began taking large steps, easily dragging the rock out of the cleared area. Smiling happily, she bumped her nose against his in a playful kiss and then unstrapped the rock and tossed the rope to the side. Duke was a smart horse and walked on over to the next big rock in the middle of the ring, waiting for someone to hook him up. The girl then went over to the other horse, young Bark, and led him to the edge of the ring slowly. He wasn’t used to working, and the weight of the rock was irritating, but it wasn’t any problem.

There’s only a few more big rocks, actually…anyone wanna take a break? We can have a snack and rest for a bit before clearin’ out the others and positioning them.

Adelle laid back, tongue sticking out as she panted. Her ears pricked up at the suggestion, looking over at the horses. She bounced back up, trotting over to the stallion Dixie was standing beside. She petted the horse happily, forgetting that it was going to be used for work. It was a beautiful beast. She could truly appreciate it now that she was able to change to optime form, no longer looking at the horse from below.Rapidly Adelle jumped back out of the way, slightly disappointed that the horse she'd decided was her new best friend had moved away.

The horses moved a couple rocks, Adelle watching with slight disappointment. She couldn't move those rocks. It seemed unfair that the horses could. At the announcement of a break for food Adelle shot into overdrive, bouncing over to Dixie's side with a new rapid speed. She almost flattened the smaller dog before she pulled herself to a halt. What are we gonna eat? Size did not mean age. No matter how she looked, Adelle was still a puppy in her mind and heart.

OOC here!

Dixie nodded in response to her question before getting one of the horses to start dragging the rocks. They quickly cleared away most of the rocks, leaving only a few that still needed to be moved. Dixie asked if they wanted a break so they could have a little something to eat before finishing up.

Adelle seemed excited to eat and went bouncing over to Dixie. Isa chuckled a little at the young woman’s enthusiasm. She was still a pup and seemed to easily become excited, still acting like the hyper pup Isa loved. She almost ran Dixie over before asking what they would eat. Isa looked between the two as she spoke. I could get us something real quick, unless you already have something here Dixie. Isa wouldn’t mind going hunting for a short while. It wouldn’t take long for her to get a few rabbits or a doe or something, but if the other woman already had food there she wouldn’t object.

Dixie chuckled softly and grabbed onto Adelle’s shoulders to maintain balance as the young woman got excited about having a snack before finishing their job. Ruffling her little hands over the girl’s head, she turned to Duke and reached into the saddle bags, bringing out two handfuls of dried rabbit and squirrel meat. There was a bit more, but not too much. I’ve got this much…and I’m not really all that hungry. If you think you’ll need more, feel free to go grab somethin’, but don’t hesitate to clean this outta my bag, it won’t be fresh tomorrow so we gotta eat it all today.

Reaching out, she held one hand out to both women, indicating that they should take the thick strips of meat. Dixie could eat the two or three smaller pieces left in the saddle bag and be fine until they got back home. She was used to eating a lesser amount than everyone around, and going for a longer time without eating in the first place.

Adelle ducked her head as her short hair was ruffled, grinning happily. Yes, she'd revealed that she was still young and impatient, but there was food available, and Adelle had been working hard on the sparring ring. Surely she deserved something for that. Her tail wagged as Isa mentioned hunting down something quick. I can catch rabbit. Dixie had taught her how to do that. Catch mouse too. Not much of a meal, but a good snack.

Dry meat was taken out and held before Adelle and Isa. She prepared to just swallow down the food, but Dixie's words slowed her down. Adelle knew what it was like to be hungry and go short. Grandpa had often done that for her. She didn't want to do that to Dixie. Adelle took a few large pieces, still leaving some behind before retreating and chewing on the pieces she had selected, trying to not look as hungry as she felt.

OOC here!

Dixie pulled out two handfuls of dried meat for them. It wasn’t too much but Isa wasn’t too hungry. She could grab a little something more for Adelle though. She knew the growing pup would be very hungry. I will be right back you two. As she left, Isa affectionately scratched behind the young girls ears. She took off a short distance away before picking up the scent of a couple of rabbits nearby.

It didn’t take long for her to catch the pair of rabbits. One was rather fat, perfect for Adelle. Making her way back to where the other two were, Isa handed Adelle the fat rabbit. There you go dear, I know you’re hungry. You may have the other if you want Dixie. I’m not too terribly hungry. She smiled at the woman and took a few pieces of the dried meat, eating it quickly.

The young woman smiled at Ismeme when she decided to go out and catch something for them to eat. While she was out, Dixie chewed on her meat and scanned the remaining rocks, trying to calculate how much more time it would take for the three of them, and two horses, to get everything cleared out. Already there were a lot of rocks ringing the cleared area, so they'd just need to build the circle up a little bit before leaving. Overall it was an easy job and could be finished within the next two hours, if they worked hard and fast.

When the grey female came sauntering back up with two rabbits, Dixie grinned and nodded happily. Her belly was satisfied, however, so she just took the dead thing and slid it into the saddle bags. It would be made into dry strips and the pelt would be given back to Isa at a later date. Thank you, Isa...I'm pretty full though, I'll just hold it here till we get back home, yes?

She ate the meat fairly quickly, leaving her looking rather forlornly at her hands, wishing there was more. As unobtrusively as possible Adelle glanced over, noting that there was still some meat left there that hadn't been touched. She took a small piece, eating it down. When that was gone she looked again before snatching a large piece that quickly vanished down her gullet. She nuzzled up against Isa as her ears were scratched, a rather pleasant feeling to enjoy. Her tail wagged softly as Isa left, wondering what she was going to do.

She had taken quite a bit more of the dried meat by the time Isa got back, a rather sad looking pile of the scraps Adelle had picked around. Guiltily Adelle pushed it up, trying to make it look like she hadn't just picked down the enormous pile, knowing that the other two would be hungry as well. Her tail wagged as the rabbit was passed to her, delicious and fat.
Tak.
She eagerly picked through, tearing the rabbit apart and devouring the warm meat, oblivious to the mess covering her fur with the blood. Adelle licked at her fingers happily, cleaning up what had escaped her, finally feeling full.
