ooc text :: Sorry about taking so damn long.

Alma had already retrieved a bow, a spare string and some arrows from Inferni's stores. She had been assigned to teach another coyote archery, and she had doubts about whether they would bring their own bow. She was slightly nervous, afraid that something would go horribly wrong in the process of her teaching; she was not sure where that came from, since she'd taught Emmanuelle just fine. There were a few things she'd learned from that experience, and she would put them to good use now.

She had learned that once a beginner had understood the basics of holding a bow, they needed something to shoot at. Something simple and immobile; to that end, she'd chosen a tree or two on the edge of the Forest of Nod and smeared it with dye. It was far enough from the mansion that no one was at risk of getting accidentally shot, and close enough that it was easy to walk back and forth.

The orange coyote was standing in front of the mansion with a bow in each hand. Her quiver was strapped onto her back, filled with perhaps a few too many arrows. She was staring at the mansion doors, trying to decide whether she should go in and try to find her student, or wait and hope he'd find her. Alma still wasn't familiar with the insides of it, and she was afraid she'd get lost. There was also the ever present fear of the whole thing crashing down on her, but that was a secondary concern, lurking in the recesses of her mind.

In the end, she decided on the simplest course of action: call out. If he didn't come after that, she'd search for him. "Sacha?" She yipped, hoping it would reach his ears.

OOC: No no, I'm sorry >.< Life is just so mean to meee ;__;

Today he would be learning something that could help his efforts to contribute to the clan as well as fill his stomach every night. He was also branching out, trying to learn new things and do more than he had been in the past. He said he would change and become more active and he was sticking true to his words to his best ability; he was certainly doing better than in the past. He had awoken early and got dressed in his green pants in which he should probably consider cleaning or finding a new pair. However, Sas wasn't one to focus too much on cleanliness. After petting the tail of his dead brother, something he normally did, he fed the Osprey and gathered his belongings before headed out the door.

With his bag draped across his body which held his means of communication and the club strapped to his back, he ventured to where Blitzen stayed. He had a treat for him just for the simple fact that he wanted to treat him on that day. As he went searching for what he needed, in which he miserably failed, he found a couple of apples that he thought the deer would like and so after his approach he pulled one from his bag. He then held it up to Blitzen in which the albino deer gave it a sniff before taking a bite out of it. Sascha watched intently despite his expression as he found it pleasing that Blitzen liked the treat he was given. It didn't take long for his companion to finish the first apple and as he reached into his bag for the other his movable ear twitched at the sound of his name in the air. He looked over in the general direction which was the front of the mansion. Where he stood he couldn't exactly see her but he recognized the voice and because he was expecting her he wasn't surprised. He fished out the apple and placed it in the section he stayed. With a pet goodbye he sheepishly headed towards the front.

He was more nervous than before because he had failed to get a bow for himself. He'd probably screwed up this training before it already began and this thought had made his scowl more noticeable. That wasn't the only thing fueling his anxiousness. What if he was unteachable? What if he couldn't grasp the concept? A lot was running through his mind as he rounded the corner. Ruby eyes fell upon Alma who was holding two bows. He was somewhat relieved but at the same time he felt bad that he was never prepared. He waved at her, remembering that she may not be able to read, as he finished his approached. The fact that they couldn't communicate normally would make this interesting but Sascha had become good at using gestures over time. The Ulrich eyed the bow in her hand and pointed at it with a frown upon his face. He then pointed at his own chest trying to ask if one of the bows was for him. That was the thing about gesturing; it was hard to gesture a "please" and "sorry". A "thank you" could be gestured with a nod and a smile but he has trouble with the smiling part. He hoped she wouldn't think he was ungrateful or being impolite.

I AM TOTALLY MORE OF A SLOWPOKE THAN YOUUUUU. no really, it's not a problem if my slowpokeness is not a problem. we should have a slowpoke race.

She didn't think much of his scowling because by now, she had seen him do that so often that she wasn't sure he knew how to make any other expression. Idly, she wondered if it had something to do with his inability to speak, or if he was like her and had spent so much time apart from others that he couldn't remember how to make basic expressions. Inferni had been the cure for her, but as far as she knew this male had been in Inferni longer than her. The whole thing made her curious, but it wasn't like she'd ever know the answer. She could ask, but he couldn't talk and she couldn't read.

"Yes, it's for you." She understood his meaning almost immediately, and gave him the bow. She had arrows in her quiver, too, because she predicted he wouldn't think to bring that either - few people did when they were just starting out. They didn't need the arrows, yet, though. "We need to go somewhere outside the mansion - there's too many people and a wayward arrow might hurt someone." With this statement, she turned and went back the way she came.

"I've found a place that's not too far from here." She said, to fill the silence between them. She couldn't read him very well, but she was relieved she could at least understand him when he wanted to know whether the bow was for him or not. If that was any sign, perhaps she'd have an easier time than either of them thought.
