No order! Assuming everyone is on horseback because of attacks. :>

Enough was enough. With the blessing of her Dark Queen (who was unraveling by the day), Siv had gathered the two least talkative men within the Family and urged them to join her. This was a gamble—she did not know of Itachi’s history with the clan, only that he, like Eris, was somehow linked to it. Still, she hoped that things would move along without much trouble.

She came dressed in her ritual wear and riding Hildr, the spear attached easily to the saddle. It was apparent she had recently seen combat—raw gashes marked her forearms from where the white she-wolf had struck her. Hildr too showed marks, but these were minor and many against her scarred horseflesh. The witch-woman knew there was a great strength in her mount and hope sorely to find a worthy horse to breed her with. Black was too small, and she intended to use a better suited stallion for her needs.

They rode east, covering the land quickly. Horses were best suited for such affairs, and given the attacks, she did not wish to be caught on foot by these wolves. After miles of plains a collection of pikes, mounted with various skulls of both wolf and prey animals and splashed with paint loomed ahead. Siv had seen the borders once before. She drew her horse to a stop and lifted her voice, formal and deep, asking for audience.

Viggo had barely been wounded in these attacks, but oh was his blood hot. Ezekiel watched him prance and chase around the other horses, looming protectively over the mares. The arrival of his offspring likely had something to do with it—the little golden filly was a crowning achievement in Ezekiel’s eyes, and he was pleased by how sturdy she seemed. Even the reddish colt looked strong, though his mother was much leaner than Oblak. He wondered if Myrika’s mare had dropped yet, and on this whim, summoned Viggo from his endless watching. While it was likely not far off, he also wished to see Kaena, and Halo, and the twins who were not half so small anymore.

He rode west, giving the stallion his head and allowing him to run. There was something freeing about riding something so powerful, and Ezekiel gave into the moment of adrenaline. It was different than combat, different than the whole of this terrible war. They had nearly made it to the Village when a wolf’s howl cut across the land and the Aquila drew Viggo to a short stop. The stallion snorted, foaming, and whinnied loudly. If it was an attack, he wanted to go—that much one could see even without knowing his tongue.

It was not, however; the tone was different and an attacker would never be so foolish as to announce themselves. Ezekiel turned him towards the sound and let the stallion run, charging west and across the dirt trail well-worn by constant patrols. He slowed only as the shapes grew in the distance; three of them, horses, and the distinctive smell of Sirius’ pack trailed from them. Salsola, here? Setting his jaw, Ezekiel began to close the distance between them.

Imhotep had ridden in silence with the group from Salsola. He was not sure as to his duty on this mission but he would keep himself together and do what was needed for the thorn kingdom. Siv was in the middle she after all held a high rank and seemed to be the one who took charge off the situation. He was becoming bolder and more at ease with who he was.

Looking to Siv he then turned to look straight forward. Golden eyes looked upon the border of inferni. He had never been here before and there was just something chilling about the skulls that adorned the lands border. He held the reigns of the Arabian mare. Looking again to Siv as she let out a call that rang for a leader to come.

Sitting straight a top the mare he waited.Though the small group did not have to wait long before a male came to them. Imhotep gave a dip of his head. the man had an aura that radiated power and he knew that the male was one of the leaders.

Still reeling from the news of Zana's pregnancy, the dark Lykoi had found it difficult to pull himself away from her side. But he had his duties, now doubled by the fact that he would not in clear conscience let her out. So he had prepared Yegua early that morning, and set out to patrol the borders, armed as always and ready for battle; ebony spear secured tightly to a clasp at his back, and thick wolf skin leather tied his right shoulder. Helotes had not been far from the village when the call rang out, though he hesitated in responding to it. What if it were the Boreas? He wouldn't stand a chance alone against a group of them. But the warrior within him was curious and stoked, and he urged Yegua forward at a slow, even pace until they reached nearer to the center of village. There, he saw a group on horseback, and for a moment was sure it was the enemy, but then saw his Aquila atop his stallion and realized it must not be so.

Yegua gave out a soft nicker as they came closer, obviously in response to the group of horses, the stallion most in particular. Ezekiel had been breeding this stud with the other mares, but Yegua had not been chosen to foal this season, her filly from last year still attached to hip at times. Helotes felt this disappointed her slightly, because the stallion was quite the visage of equine masculinity.

The large Hydra said nothing, but pulled his horse up beside his leader. The others gathered were obviously of Salsola, and Helotes silently gritted his teeth but said nothing. His opinion of the pack to the West held no merit here, and would surely be silenced by Ezekiel. They were here for a reason, so Helotes kept quiet, but sat erect on the back of his mare, a forboding presence next to the Aquila's smaller, yet solid form.

Word Count → 571 :: Tl;dr, Sparrow is riding on Bairre and is standing some distance away from Zeke and Helo.

As the days went by, Sparrow found herself more settled within the lands of Inferni. On every morning she woke since acceptation into the ranks, everything was becoming familiar instead of foreign; she had nothing to thank besides her cursed memory that aided in helping to remember all the pathways and faces that walked upon them. It was a strange feeling, having spent a couple of months prior basically traveling alone across the Canadian northeast, rarely ever sleeping in the same spot twice. But, the caves greeted her nightly, their mouths providing safe rest that promised undisturbed slumber from outside forces. The tension that raked the clan bore within the fawn, but along with it was the simple contentment of having a familiar home.

Despite having her rope and the thin book of letters from Myrika to study, she met her wit’s end; having tying every knot she knew about a hundred and now knowing most of the alphabet by heart, she became rather bored, though did not find reviewing the book a waste. Nonetheless, she swept by the Mansion to borrow a bow for the day; she never allowed herself to keep the weapon for more than a few hours, worrying that somehow the other couple they kept would be borrowed by other members, and leaving another short. With that she also picked up a few arrows, placing them in a rather crudely-made quiver of hide that she made herself, though it was better than nothing at the moment, and set out towards the Village corral, the morning still young.
She took out Bairre, the stallion that she had practiced riding with once before, to assist in today’s goal: exploring the borders. Sparrow could guess it could be masked as “patrolling”, though its true intents were to see what was there instead to inspect it. He seemed to enjoy the hybrid’s presence as much as she did his, and she found it easy as she led him northwestward, towards the flower fields she liked to haunt. But, she was only nearly approaching the edges of the meadow when she heard the wolfish howl.

At first, her fur crawled over her skin, dread sinking into her stomach. Her first thought was of Marcel. But, this voice was female, and she discarded that idea to be replaced with the idea of the Boreas wolves. Her body lacked scars to show that she had met these beasts, but their actions were enough to give Sparrow fright. But, loyalty demanded her to investigate the matter, and became relaxed by the thought that she couldn’t have been the only one who heard the voice, that other coyotes would come. She turned the roan towards the west, and set him at a run, all the while rubbing his thick neck, curling her fingers in his red made to make her calm.

She came not long after the Hydra and the Aquila, if not a couple of seconds, before Bairre stood a little behind Yegua and Viggo, though the fawn made sure her presence was known. They smelled familiar—it was the pack that she scented on her way to Inferni, the one who bore many different canines, no distinct species. The group did not seemed hostile as they stood before her leader, but she kept her guard, her fingers that were resting in the stallion’s mane ready to grab the bow that rested on her back.

ems is by nat.

ooc; wee emma doesn't have a horse or know how to ride. xD lemme know if i need to get rid of something.

The woman had spent her mornings since the attack slinking along the borders when she wasn't at the greenhouse, feeling she was needed in more then one place. Though the garden-warrior felt at home with her plants, she knew better then to stay there when the times were trying. The woman felt she had done a service to her pack by cutting off that damned wolf's head and sticking it on a pike, it warmed her heart and she though she didn't know, she pretended that her packmates were proud of her feet. The last attack was the one that still echoed in her brain and one of the things she could not forget was the way her Aquila held onto the necklaces she gave him from the intruder in a most peculiar way, the heat radiating off of his body surely had been testament to his feelings about the whole ordeal, and she dare not ask.

The sword she had gained from the battle hung at her hips and the bow and quiver, over her shoulder. Daggers were strapped to her thighs as the woman was taking no chances on being unequipped. Though she was still new at fighting, she felt that she could hold her own against these wolves and survive long enough to call for help, and besides, the head resting on a pike was proof of that, was it not? Smiling grimly to herself, she trailed through the underbrush and skulls that lined the borders, making sure she brushed against most of it to keep the border scent fresh. Border patrols had been plenty lately, and for this she was glad for. So far they hadn't seen anything else since the last attack that she was aware of. Just as she was rubbing her shoulder against a tree that was lining the border her ears perked to receive a howl, one of strangers.

Her first reaction was anger, how dare they come up to her clans border and be so bold to announce themselves! Then logic and reason kicked in, and she thought to herself that no enemy would be stupid enough to say something before attacking, and it certainly wasn't the Boreas wolves style, now was it. Shaking the bits of bark off of her fur she started jumping through the tall grass, running at a medium speed towards the sound because she was close by and finally spotting the group that had taken place. The woman wiped all expression from her face as she approached all the canines on horseback, nodding in greeting to her fellow clan mates. The air was tense, and she wasn't sure why nobody had spoken. Looking at the Salsolans that stood across the borders, she dipped her head politely and spoke, her tone respectful and curtious, as well as welcoming. " What brings you to Infernian borders, may I ask? "

Apologies for the wait :|

Travelling on horseback would never become his preferred method of travelling, but it would definitely do. Although the blond man had not received any prominent injuries during his fight, the weathered woman’s sword had tasted his skin at strategic places that had caused quite a blood loss overall. Bandages were no longer necessary, and so the dark red scars hid behind the dark folds of his pitch black cloak and the dark, partly ripped headband he had yet to replace for another. There was also smaller, though still visible cuts to be seen on hands and ankles as well, but shallow cuts impressed no one.

He felt less empty than usual. Perhaps there was a spark of genuine enthusiasm, somewhere. It hadn’t been long since he had visited Inferni’s borders, but he had only engaged an unknown female back then. Perhaps he would be fortunate enough to meet his mother, face to face. This could be dangerous for his company, but he had decided against speaking up about his reasons for abandoning the coyote clan. But he believed his current company knew that he had ties to this clan. His surname made it obvious, but none of these two he travelled with were native to these lands.

The Lykoi leaned against the back of his mare’s shoulders with his forearms as Siv’s call rose to call for the coyotes of Inferni. His appearance was relaxed compared to Imhotep’s. Sunset eyes did express a slim degree of interest for once, because there was a multitude of individuals linked to the same blood here; the same blood that coursed through his flawed veins. He wasn’t one for family ties, but it would be interesting to spot a few faces that resembled his own, if only barely so. China was the only other face he’d ever truly care for though, and she would not return to this place.

A pale gold man seemed to be the first to approach, and he knew who the man was at once. Gabriel’s son, no doubt. Itachi patiently adjusted his pose; less relaxed and more guarded for the sake of appearances. Inferni number two and three were strangers, but he believed himself to recognize the red splash on the large, dark male’s snout as Lykoi. He remained quite still as what he hoped to be the last Infernian made her appearance. He recognized her easily, but did not reveal any sign of recognition. He remained motionless in the saddle, and would leave the talk to the talkative. As a potential future scout, he ought to show more interest, but he wasn’t a man for the crowds.

While it says that the meeting goes back to Salsola, I figured it might be easier to just do it all here. << Also, Nat, Zeke isn't super lanky--he's actually rather thick for a coyote. :>

It hardly surprised Siv that a group came to meet them. This did not look intentional—they had all emerged from various areas ahead, three on horseback and one on her own two feet. It was the blonde coyote that spoke, though Siv had little trouble spotting the leader. Sirius had described him (in so many words) and the red horse was a towering testimony of authority. The darker hybrid, much larger than the others, caught her eye if only for his mass. Both of the males were well built; neither were as lean as Sirius, though this too, did not surprise her. Breeding was a peculiar thing.

Though it was a subordinate who spoke, Siv focused her attention on the golden coyote. “I am here on behalf of my King,” she explained to him, and saw a faint reaction. It was hardly noticeable—a faint twitch at the corner of the coyote’s mouth—but she was pleased to know he had been expecting such a thing. “We are here because our home has been attacked as well. This cannot go on. We must join together in order to find our assailants, or wait idly by while our families fall.”

From their scent alone, he knew of their purpose. Sirius had been frugal with his words and more generous with his teeth, but what was coming was inevitable. Kingdoms did not last forever. While they fought to hold on they made bedmates with those who might do them harm—thistle and flame were not allies in truth, and the volatile and personal relationship between their Lords spoke of such a thing all too clearly.

Flanked by a warrior and two women, Ezekiel was glad for the show of numbers. The massive black she-wolf towered over all of them, and he was hardly surprised they had sent her. She looked a fright, after all. He did not know the dog, but he certainly knew Halo’s son—not personally, of course, but for what he was. A blood traitor, left to rot in a prison made of Sirius’ home. It was not his place to punish the boy for what he had done. Halo had two children who, soon enough, would be capable of the task.

“I am aware,” Ezekiel answered her, his voice strong and clear. “That Salsola has become involved in this. I think it fair we speak of this openly. These wolves call themselves Boreas. They are here to destroy what they consider to be filth; coyotes, and those who would follow them.” He fell silent, eyes drifting between the assembled. No one would wish to admit any true loss, but there were battles to be spoken of and the singular understanding to build. Where were these enemies, and how would they be destroyed?

OOC :: Thanks Mel, I'll edit it.

Helotes' eyes wandered over the gathered; it was a cornucopia of canines, just as they perhaps seemed. From what Helotes had gathered, there were some kind of ties, whether of blood or word, between Salsola and Inferni. But the dark Lykoi held no love for them, despite he knowing that there were relatives of his there. To him, they seemed like a dark, secretive bunch with no good intentions. He was sure that they coming here to speak with Ezekiel was not for Inferni's benefit in the least, but only for their own.

More Inferni members appeared, Emmanuelle, and another he did not recognize. The blonde woman was the first to speak, quite to Helotes' surprise. Despite this, the large, black Salsolan female completely ignored her and instead spoke to the Aquila. She said that she had been sent by her king, and Helotes nearly scoffed but remained silent, and turned to Ezekiel when she had finished speaking. His face was grim and stoic and he said that they should speak openly about the situation at hand, that it enveloped them all.

Helotes turned his eyes back to the group, not looking at anyone particularly, I am Helotes Lykoi, Hydra of Inferni. I have fought against the Boreas, as I'm sure you all have by the looks of you. The other warriors and I would be willing to talk to your own, to see if some plan can be established against the enemy. He words were curt, but clear. He did not want to make this interaction between the two packs anymore friendly then it had to be, but there was a goal to be achieved, and lives to protect.

Word Count → 442 :: Poke me in the eyeball if its wrong for Sparrow to suggest this. I just wanted her to be useful.

It did not seem that the group were enemies of Inferni, if uncomfortable acquaintances at the most, and allowed her fingers to slacken on the horse’s neck. She did not hear much of the kingdom in the north, other than they were not in the favor of most canines that mention them, though none of the comments were directly ill-worded. The large woman that lead the mixed group did intimidate the small coywolf, wondering if she should be wary of them, but she made herself not to make judgments upon their appearances or rumors; their words and actions will soon show what kind of people they were.

The mention of the Boreas wolves made Sparrow uncomfortable, but there was no avoiding their title if they were to discuss them and solve the problem, so she swallowed her feelings. It just felt taboo to her, that if they spoke of them, they would come. If they were to, though, they would meet retribution from both of their enemies. They would not be that unwise, she mused as an afterthought, finding some comfort in that thinking. While all this went over her head, she also paid close attention to the conversation at hand.

Sparrow wanted to remain silent, knowing that her words could barely mean anything. Staying in the background was what she was good for, an unneeded accessory. But, she did not want them, the people from the thistle kingdom, to make her out as useless, so when the Helotes was finished speaking, she quietly yet firmly spoke out, all the while hoping that she was not making some mistake from adding her own thoughts though this concern were not expressed. “My name is Sparrow, Tirones. The Boreas has caused much trouble for both of our clans, and we should unite to face them, together, it’ll be more effective. While there is discussion of the plans, there should be some groups, both of Inferni and Salsola, searching for their encampment.” She took a small, second-long pause, as if half waiting for someone to oppose.

“They could be in the mountains; it would provide some sort of protection for them. But, if they are not mountain climbers, they could be in the east, perhaps even in the south…” Actually, they could have been anywhere, but Sparrow was just suggesting what she would have thought would be the most likely. “There is unclaimed coasts, water sources there, right? And the nearest packs are mostly wolf… They would have no quarrel with them.” She still liked the idea of the mountains better, since she would have done the same, but did not voice her own opinion.

More or less ignored by the group, Emma crossed her arms and waited to see what would be said now. Her bi-colored eyes did not miss the sunset-hued gaze of Itachi, though the two wisely avoided a blantant display of recognition. Her tail flicked behind her idly as she listened intently, not wishing to miss any of the conversation that was being spoken. Ezekiel spoke, then Helotes and then even a lower member then her, Sparrow spoke as well. If they were all speaking, then there was no reason she should keep quiet as well. " I am Emmanuelle, Aedile of Inferni.. I believe if we were to send parties out, possibly have an even number of scouts and warriors in each group to ensure safety and to keep the scouts concentrated on the task at hand.. They wouldn't have to worry about being attacked if our fighters had their backs" She said slowly, her words soft lest she was ignored again.

The scars that littered her body from the fights of the Boreas tingled, but instead of being intimidated by the big black wolf on her horse and the rest of the Salsola party Emmanuelle stood tall and confident, her gaze flicking through the strange faces calmly and cooly. If they thought less of her because she didn't look the part, they were clearly wrong. More or less she had been a part of every wave of the fight, and she had killed to protect her clan. The woman was proud of her accomplishments, even if nobody else knew or cared of them. In all reality scouts shouldn't be scared, but they were up against a different enemy. It wasn't just a couple of trespassers out to prank the pack, oh no. This was a very real and very dangerous threat. If there weren't trained warriors, even small camps of the Boreas wolves could do very bad damage against whatever scouts were out looking for them.

It became clear that this would be a messy convention. Every Infernian decided to wriggle their tongues and talk. Blond ears were already lazily pushed back on top of his golden locks, and they scarcely flickered as every new voice rose to add their participation to the unnecessary chorus. Sunset eyes preferred to linger with the Aquila, because it was the clan’s leader that they had come to interact with, originally. Only he had the voice to command his troops, after all.

Siv had been pointed out as their spokesperson once they reached the skull-lined borders of Itachi’s birth home. This was an effective reminder why he found himself avoiding larger groups if it could be helped. Salsola’s regular gatherings were different because of the specific hierarchy and traditions they kept. Most of what was said here was not necessary, and in his mind he thought it only to lengthen the time for negotiation and plotting. He couldn’t remember the ways of Inferni before he became a cast out. Perhaps this was how it always was.

Itachi, naturally, remained motionless and visually unresponsive to the on goings. His task here was very simple, and didn’t require much unless things turned for the worse.

Zeke won't be doing anything, so if you guys want to post again skip over him. Otherwise I'll close this in a few days.

What peculiar creatures here lived, Siv thought. Their leader had spoken and yet each voice followed in turn, as if this was somehow their right. She would never have seen such a thing amongst wolves, and accounted this to their coyote blood. It was foolish. They spoke openly and she listened, recounting, ready to pick up any information betrayed by such loose mouths. Her eyes left the leader if only to follow each speaker in turn, silently, brooding despite the blank formality required for her position.

She shifted upon her horse and finally returned her gaze to the Aquila. “We shall send some of our own scouts and warriors to aid in this hunt,” she affirmed, speaking formally, speaking for the King as she had assumed the right to do. It was a blatant stretch of her own power, and one she held onto fiercely. “Tomorrow we will join your people and hunt down these dogs.” Still, she did not betray that they had suffered—and lost—heavily on their side. There was no need for her to speak when so much information openly flowed from Inferni’s own mouth.

“Once this camp is found, then a plan can be made. If that suits you, Aquila,” she added, and received a faint nod. Satisfied by this, the dark woman looked to her own companions and pulled on Hildr’s reins. She dipped her head to the leader before her. “Until tomorrow,” she bade farewell, and turned her horse. Their business, as she saw it, was concluded.
