Cadmeia Teumessian

Cadmeia sighed, flopped on her back in the grass. It was dusk - her favorite time of day. The air was fresh, and there was just enough light to see, but you didn’t have to squint. A cool breeze ruffled her fur, and Cadmeia inhaled deeply. The flowers smelled lovely - a sweet perfume. It was a nice sort of therapy. After arriving, Cadmeia had distanced herself a bit too much, though not on purpose! She was still very nervous and needed practice on her social interactions. She had only been very open with Hadley and Adelle, and even then she hadn’t seen those two as much as she’d have liked. It was her own fault - nobody else was to blame. It wasn’t as if she’d done it on purpose either. Being flakey was sometimes endearing, but when it happened this way...well...she worried what the others thought. In any case, she had decided to make more of an effort to communicate. It was still rough for her - she only hoped the others wouldn’t think that she was stupid once they heard her speak. In fact, she was quite intelligent, but had a hard time expressing her thoughts and feelings verbally.

Rolling over onto her belly, Cadmeia groaned. Why was she feeling so lazy lately? Perhaps she needed to be intellectually stimulated. Cadmeia was very curious about botany - and since spring was upon the land she figured it would be an excellent time to conduct an experiment. She’d once heard about Allelopathy - a chemical process that plants use to prevent other plants from growing too close to them. Sunflowers! She’d test it with Sunflowers. She’d have to cultivate some ground first...then choose another plan to grow near the Sunflowers. Oh, and she couldn’t forget the control group which she would plant away from the Sunflowers. How exciting this was!

Cadmeia paused. She couldn’t get ahead of herself. She’d need others to help her - she wondered if anybody would like to experiment with her? Was she even allowed to cultivate a mini-plot? Should she ask permission? Who would come to help her? ”This could be an exciting project! I hope others will join me and help, perhaps this will be a good bonding experience.” She shivered with delight, awaiting her first taker.

Adelle was practicing her skills at tracking. The unsuspecting victim she'd selected was the fox that lived in the pack. With how good she was at vanishing out of sight Adelle knew that it'd be hard to track her down. Moving along in optime form Adelle followed the faint path she had discovered. Getting closer Adelle decided to discard the bulky optime form so she could follow the path more easily. Limbs shortened, her already short hair disappearing. The muscles contorted into a shape more fit for four legs.

The process was lengthy, taking much longer than it would for an adult. She was unused to shifting, her body still adjusting to the process. Adelle halted in secui form, unwilling to continue the change. Her prey could be getting farther off after all. Adelle trundled forward, finally spotting Cadmeia. Her tail wagged, heading forwards for a pounce. Cadmeia seemed a lot smaller than she remembered, but that didn't stop Adelle's playful attack.

Cadmeia froze. She thought she heard someone creeping up behind her. Not wanting to move in case they hadn’t spotted her yet, she remained still. Taking in a deep breath, a sweet scent reached her nose. It was Adelle - she’d recognize her anywhere! They hadn’t played for a while...Cadmeia missed that. Adelle did seem to be busy all the time, so she was happy to hear her approaching. Not paying attention, as she reminisced about their first meeting, Adelle got the best of her and pounced, catching Cadmeia off guard. Cadmeia squealed with delight and pressed herself against Adelle. ”Dell, I missed you!!” She tackled the lumbering pup, standing on top of her, not quite big or strong enough to actually pin her. She licked Adelle’s face, leapt off her stomach, and rolled around in the grass, making an indentation in the dirt. Somehow, Adelle’s energy seemed to rub off onto Cadmeia, and she leapt into the air, landing on all fours. She tossed her head about in the air a couple times, getting her excitement out. ”Dell, I’m going to plant Sunflowers! I’m doing an experiment! won’t you help me??”

The fox was taken up in the tackle, pressed down beneath the much larger dog. Adelle's tail wagged at the squeal that escaped, tongue happily hanging out. The red body pressed against her, disappearing briefly against the thick gold fur. Leaning down she licked at Cadmeia, slobbering over her head. Cadi! I got you! Her english was a lot better than it had been the last time they'd met, actually able to talk back to Cadmeia with a semblance of making sense. She growled playfully as the tiny kit slipped out, tackling her back.

Adelle rolled over, finding herself pinned down by the smaller child. Her tail wagged happily beneath her, twisting around to look at Cadmeia. Her greeting lick was met by one of Cadmeia, even if it wasn't as large. Rolling back over Adelle's body shook with excitement, bounding around slightly. Yes! She let out a couple barks for good measure before setting out to start digging in the ground. It was hard at first, the ground resisting, but a few good growls taught it a lesson and the earth began to fly up, a hole forming. She scuffled around it a bit, sniffing at the hole, big enough for her head to disappear into. Sunflowers go here?

Suddenly, Cadmeia didn’t feel like experimenting anymore. Forgetting everything about Allelopathy, she shot straight for Adelle’s behind and pushed her into the hole. Giggling, she waited for her bumbling friend to make her way out to play with her again. Part of her felt bad for tricking Adelle, but her friend would know it was all in good fun. Cadmeia’s attention switched gears again when she looked at her Sunflower seeds. While she didn’t really feel like experimenting anymore, she didn’t want to waste the seeds. Maybe she and Adelle could just plant them. Perhaps Adelle would like to plant more flowers with her, and once they bloomed, they could create flower arrangements and bouquets! She wiggled with excitement and jumped on Adelle’s back, dangling her paws over the pup’s frontside. ”Dell, will...you…can you...would you like to help me plant more flowers?? No more experimenting, I think.”

OOC here!

Something pushed at her from behind. Normally Adelle wouldn't have gone anywhere, but the dirt under her paws was loose. Yelping she found herself sliding head first into the hole she had dug. Stuck her rear wagged in the air, tail thrashing as she pushed around. With a pop she fell back out, sitting on the ground. Panting she looked at the hole. That was close! She could have been stuck in there. Looking over at Cadmeia she noticed the mischievous grin. She had done that?

Confusion covered Adelle's good natured features before she caught the joke, chuckling. Leaning over she licked up Cadmeia's face, knocking the kit down. Growling she stood there for a moment before backing up again, as happy as before. She watched Cadmeia bounce around before straightening up once more, nodding her head. Yes! No more experiment. Flowers. Picking up the seeds she dropped a few into the hole. Turning she made it rapidly disappear, the last pile of dirt sent flying towards the fox. Laughing she turned, tail swaying. Dig hole for rest?
