Anathema Sub-Territory Contest!

  1. What is it? A contest to come up with some more good sub-territories for our characters to explore within Anathema! It's been awhile since our last one and we'd love to expand upon Anathema's territory!

  2. What do I do? Submit a description of a portion of AT's territory, along with a name for it. Point out where this territory would exist on the map or give a description to me of where it would be on the map AND of how large it is. (miles, km). The submissions must be a minimum of 100 words. There is no limit to how many territories you may submit, and you may submit underground or above ground territories.

  3. When is this due by? All sub-territory submissions will be due by June 4, which will give you a month to think them up and figure out their specifications. Then the pack will vote on which ones we like the best.

  4. Who do I send this to? PM the information to the Anathema Account and one of the leaders will add the submitted sub-territories to the bottom of this thread for everyone to read and view. We will take the name of the creator off of it, though, for fairness when everyone votes.

  5. Prizes? There will be a separate prize of a permanent icon for the most popular above-ground territory and the most popular below-ground territory that is picked; 2nd place will receive a two-word custom title (one for above, one for below ground) :] All who participate will receive 25 game points.

  6. Questions? Post general questions here or PM them to either James, Kitty or Marie if they are more individual ones.

    • NOTE: The red dot depicts one of the main entrances to the cave system, and Howling Caverns is where the pack primarily lives. Here are the links to Ashes and Ashes Territories and Sticks and Stones, some of which AT has already laid claim to. Be sure to also check our territory page on our website for more maps and information on current territories.

  8. Entries!

    A) Halcyon's Heart [underground]

In the center of the mountain there is a path that leads deep underground. Light does not reach here, leaving it in pitch blackness. It is chilly here, a perpetual coolness that does not change with the seasons. A ghost wind rattles through, a soft stirring that comes in gusts from all directions, never lasting more than a few seconds and can be hours between the last one. At the end of the tunnel it opens up to a giant space with a high ceiling that falls out of reach. Near the edge are various ridges, the occasional opening visible that could possibly lead to new areas of the mountain yet unexplored. It reaches clear across, about the size of a small football field. Small pools of water can be found in sections, fed by the drips coming from stalactites that are out of sight. They are shallow, easily waded through. The creatures that live in here are completely blind.

    B) Boxcar Graveyard [above ground]

Map Placement - The entire park takes up a single square mile. The trailer park sits back a ways out of the forest, though the plants are still working hard to reclaim the land that was taken away from them. Thirty mobile homes, some stationary and some sitting on wheels, are scattered about in this large square that was once surrounded by a chain link fence. Rusty and falling apart, the trailers are relatively unstable and dangerous to poke around in, though a few have been busted into a raided. Though there is nothing edible in the large metal boxes, there are a lot of human leftovers that are very useful and wanted by the Luperci.

    C) Shady Acres [above ground]

The mobile home park’s location is in the forest directly south from the howling caverns, physically positioned between Musquodoboit valley and Dawns Breath a little ways past the two.Its dimensions are 1 mile wide by 2 miles in length only making the territory a couple square miles.

The condition of the trailers has decayed a bit since it was just left when the humans’ presence had vanished. The mobile homes have obviously been affected by age; some of the structures are sounder than others. Lots of broken windows, some of the porches attached to the buildings are still standing where some have collapsed. Among the homes are numerous tool sheds, mail boxes, abandoned cars, trucks and small garages. The road system is a maze of four way intersections and dead ends, which have been overrun by nature, but paths are still visibly discernible.

    D) Wild Gardens [above ground]

Located along the edge of Musquidoboit valley there lays what was once an array of communal gardens that were filled with a variety of colourful, exotic plants. Over time the plants have escaped their confining plots and nicely laid out areas and become over growing, intertwining with each other to create a large, dense area of stunning colours and overwhelming aromas. Walking from what once one garden into another one will see the colour a plants shift into a new visual design, each garden having had their own scent themes that can still somewhat be made out even after years of neglect.

    E) White Plains [above ground]

Between Musquidoboit valley and Dawn's breath lays the 'White Plains' of which gains it's name from the multitude of white tailed deer which reside within it. Here the trees that coat the land thin, creating and uneven, rocky open space like terrain of which will test the skills of the best hunters, for although the prey is plentiful there is also very few places where once can hide from sight. In the centre the ground evens out a little more, the ground turning into lush grass where the deer and other animals browse in relative safety, knowing they can easily see all who approach.

    F) Akuma's Hold [above ground]

A short distance away from where the village lies and the forest grows thick and dark one may stumble across one of the 6 cobble stone paths. These paths twist and turn, creating the illusion of being lost, but eventually lead up to a small open space of which was once no doubt a perfectly cobbled circle, although with time the stones have come loose and shattered, the neat circle crumbled and not as visible as it once once. Standing erect in the centre is a statue, of what is not clear but from the inscription beneath it it becomes apparent that the thing is the humans depiction of what a demon may be. Dotted around in the forest space leading up to the statue there are old graves, so worn and covered in moss their text can no longer be read.
