Okay, the idea I have for this thread:

The setting is modern day (as in modern day 'Souls) New York City, where humans are still living but the local Luperci are looking to push back the humans to secure the city for the port. Though on the wiki, it says that High Speech is different than human speech, in this thread humans may understand and talk back to Luperci because the latter was able to learn it, thanks to the virus.

Though most Luperci are attacking the humans, some non-Luperci dogs would still be loyal, or even Luperci ones that'd been with a family for a long time. Also to add in, some Luperci may work underground with the humans, for whatever reason (the humans giving them useful resources, appealing to their sense of honor, etc.)

Idk if this could be a mini-series or something. xD It seems like a fun idea to be at war with some humans~

Word Count → 000

Alyssum wrinkled her nose at the scent of blood that lingered in the area, the snow barely helping to mask the carnage that was the warring border. Though the squad’s fire burned brightly near her, she found no comfort in its warmth, and felt as cold as the night that surrounded them. She cursed the wolf whoever put her at this gods-forsaken post, knowing that this duty had a bad reputation for being a target for gruella attacking, but, of course, they sent out the new meat, to avoid getting their own paws dirty.

She paid no attention to her various comrades that also got assigned that night, hearing some of their drunken banter and laughter, while she tucked herself away from the group, staring out into the dark street that was littered with trash and cars that had not been moved for years. She did not even know how she was recruited into this mess—they swept into the town she was staying in, plucking off all the young and able, and after hearing she was a good shot with a bow, nabbed her as well. They barely explained anything to her, at least not all what she wanted: they brought her here to fight for her kind, her species, against the humans. For as much as she knew, she thought they were all dead.

Apparently not.

Like any sensible woman, she tried to walk away, already seeing her full of wars and death. But… She saw the poor conditions the local Luperci were living in, pups that were skinny, wives with dull eyes, their light taken with their mate’s lives. Alyssum found herself begrudgingly following along, and was soon suited up with a uniform and placed among the unfamiliar faces, new ones appearing, old ones never seen again, who knows went where.

At her side laid her bow, an arrow teetering in her hands as she tried to balance it between her fingers. She refused to drink with the others, quitting cold turkey long ago, though it scent still made her long it. Nonetheless, she kept her sharp eyes on the road before her, leaning semi-relaxed against the battered vehicle that provided some protection.
It was going to a long night.
