Her sister was quiet, and she didn't like that in the least bit. Chara Linard had wandered away from what had been pack lands to look for a new home. And while this territory she had found didn't have any virtues in particular, it did sport a lovely waterfall with a nice river, a lake too Then again… That was a virtue, so cross that bit. Especially to they who had grown up by an ocean. Rivers were different, but still. That old territory wasn't doing her sister well. This waterfall wasn't one of those massive ones, just a little one that she stood taller then.

What went wrong? Chara Linard mused to herself. It was like her sister's spirit had fled the premises, leaving this blank vacant wolf who just did what she needed to do to survive and no more. She had to fix this… But how was she to fix it if she didn't know what was broken? This place would do well… Chara faintly remembered about hearing about an annual salmon run that happened around these parts. And since this was closer to the ocean? They wouldn't necessarily have to be eating zombie fish. They could even follow the fish all the way up to their spawning grounds. the colors would be glorious. Something she knew her sister would love.

She hadn't yet looked around, but she was thinking this would be the place to lay down their roots. They would need a sizable pack though… If they were going to stick around this river during the salmon run they'd have to contest with bears as well. "Ever seen a salmon run?" Chara asked Jaden, giving him a sideways glance.

This wasn’t the first day he had spent scouring the lands for a new place to call home. It had become a regular thing in the past weeks, exploring and searching. In this time he had seen beautiful places, met odd wolves, and enjoyed what this unclaimed northern land truly had to offer. Now he had a companion to explore with. Chara was a bit cold. Jaden got the feeling that she might trust him the slightest bit, but she didn’t really care for him. It was something they could work on though. He was happy with Chara for staying in Ichika and with X’yrin when everyone else left and all fell into disarray. It was nice to know he had loyal pack members he could depend on like her.

The river was pretty, and the waterfall was beautiful, but the mountain that soared above it all was positively majestic. The Alaskan’s deep blue eyes followed the peak he could not obtest up, into the clouds above and he knew he was in love. This place was it. He could feel it in his bones. He could practically hear it calling in the rush of water.

A steady smile had crept over his secui lips when Chara spoke and got his attention. A salmon run? Not in years, He came to stand next to her and marveled at the land before them, Not since my travels from Alaska. Are you a fisher? He asked with interest. Jaden could fish but it wasn’t one of the skills he prided himself on. If she had skill then maybe she could share it with him sometime. He loved to cook when the mood struck and fish was one of the few things that had alluded his fire thus far.

"Very well, parents taught me when I was a pup. I'll teach those in the pack as well- it'll do well to have a source of food with less wolfish competition." As far as she knew, not many wolves fished. Or knew how to put together a sea worthy boat. Chara Linard knew this lake would do well for her, and the boats? They would do well in here as well. A fine and mighty lake. She personally wasn't even thinking of the behemoth of a mountain.

On a different note, Chara didn't think of her much of a philosophical kind of Luperca, she was far too down-to-earth for that stuff. Most of that stuff just flew right over her head. But she did need a pack for her sister. Her sister had wanted one like crazy, so she would have one. Even if they were a bit air headed, Viola loved that stuff. Daft ditzy girl… She missed her sister. Where had her mind fled to?

Fish tasted fine but not many wolves, himself included, could fish well. Many couldn’t even fish at all. It seemed Chara was fairly confidant in her abilities if she was already offering to teach them. It would be a valuable skill and there was a good point to be made in how little competition there would be. Wonderful. You will have to give me some pointers once we get settled. I can’t catch the slippery devils for my life. He admitted and gave her a smile. He directed his gaze in the direction of hers. The Grand Lake was a mighty fine spectacle just like the mountain. He could see plenty of human structures that needed exploring as well.

So much good interest in one place. This had to be it. They had to scout it now and ensure it had all they needed within. I really like this place, Jaden mused after letting his eyes fall on the epic mountain again. What do you think? Should we explore further? Jaden was technically a leader with X’yrin and could have made the decision as to where to go and what to do himself but, without a land to guard and only his reputation to keep up within his small family as of yet, what was the point of being dominating? Chara had earned his respect thus far.

"We ought to, you're right." Chara Linard said with a solid nod. They had to be dead certain this place didn't have any lethal pitfalls they couldn't handle as a pack. If they stumbled on it with just to two of them? Well at least they could run like the Gods themselves had lit their tails on fire. She traced the male's gaze to the human structures. "Well those seem good. We can spend less time making up our own shelter and just bunker down there. Repairs will be needed naturally…"

"There's also netmaking, fishings got a whole mess of things you've got to get right." This land was unspoiled, it would make well as far as prey went. Surprising that it hadn't been touched. Her cynical mind was just waiting for the catch. There had to be something that just wasn't right with this place.

An eager energy crept into Jaden’s limbs. Chara agreed to look upon this land more thoroughly by his side and he was ready. He only paused once when he heard something that he detested to. There will be no need to repair them. We will build our own dens so that we can trust their strength. It is unbefitting for us to take refuge in the ruins of another people. He smiled to show that his comment was not meant to damage her word in the least, but to encourage her to see as he did. They would be stronger for it and safer in homes they constructed.

But now where to go? Where to start exploring a virgin land? He could walk in any direction and find a new place. So he settled for finding the basic needs of the pack, food, water, and a place to build all of their dens together. Water was in the lake so that left two more resources to find. He hoped they could find them. He was so ready to stake a claim and make this formation final. Nothing would make him happier then settling in such a fine place, under the watch of a large mountain, with the family he loved.
