Word Count → 310 :: Clara here, bad post but hey she needs a thread. Come join and interupt her quiet time! lol.
Edit: Since there its been a week, I will bump this date up to May20th

She had arrived in this place not long ago, maybe a week she was not sure, but either way she had already learned a great deal. It was how she was; never quite talking to anyone she came in contact to but instead just listened to their conversations. Learned who was with who and how the ranks worked around this pack, she learned the hierarchy rather quickly. She could not believe when she had found the woman that was to be queen in her home town, but rather she wanted to treat her how she was taught to treat the young woman.

It was all so strange, the leaving of her home with a few other people. More so with the two brothers she knew slightly from back home; they were so interesting to watch. Into their ways of bickering and how hot tempered they seemed with each other. Shaking her short bobbed head she looked around her surroundings, thinking of what to do next. Her eyes trailed down to a slightly browned book that she had started reading not long before she had gotten to her new home, it had fascinated her from the start though it was one of the similar books she had brought. It had not as many pages and was more of a beginning reader’s book but the story was nice.

Grabbing the small book the woman walked outside of her room, it was still strange living in a place with more than just her parents of just herself. This was all just something she needed to get use to, though it would take more than a week. Or even a month, she was someone that took a long time to get use to change. When she finally reached the outside world of the courthouse and took a deep breath, unsure of where to go to read her little book.

With a shrug she walked to the town square, finding that the quite surroundings rather refreshing. Smiling, she sat down on one of the older park-like benches. It looked rebuild by by the pack but that did not matter to her. All she wanted to do was read her book, and so far it looked like that’s how it was going to play out.

:O I see a Lullaby!

Neela’s most obvious wounds had healed by now, reduced to a series of thin lines hidden by the bountiful fur decorating her body, but there was still a weariness set into her limbs and mind, slowing her movements and dulling her thoughts as she went about her business. Her ribs, which Neela was fairly sure were fractured judging by their slow recovery, were still giving her pain but Neela felt well enough to remove the bandaged, consigning the last visible reminders of her encounter with her son to the waste pile.

However the nonphysical marks were not so easily shed; the twinge of her chest when she moved wrong, the memory of the rage in her son’s eyes as he looked at her, the dull ache that spread through her heart at the thought of Grynn’s death. These marks were still very much with Neela, niggling at her mind at every turn. There was little work left to do on the house that wouldn’t require a major project so Neela had taken to walking to try and occupy her thoughts, though she noticeably stayed within the borders, keeping to herself whenever possible.

She had so far done a good job of this, aside from when Jace had come to visit and managed to find her few that dwelt within Casa were familiar enough with Neela’s scent to track her down reliably when she didn’t wish to be found. She had been intending a day of the same, trekking down along Casa’s stretch of coastline and looking for spots to fish, when she came across a woman sitting on a bench, reading a book.

Neela didn’t particularly want company but it felt rude to just walk past without talking so she trotted to a halt, dipping her head in greeting, ”Hello there,” she said quietly. Neela moved to sit on the opposite end of the bench to the woman but she moved too quickly, jarring her ribs. One hand dropped instantly to Neela’s chest, ”Mierda!” she swore quietly as she finished sitting down, giving a final grimace before she cleared her face and turned to look at the woman.

”What’re ya reading?" Neela asked curiously, resisting from craning her head to see the books title, ”Not seen too many up here that can read.” though admittedly Neela hadn’t particularly been asking much and reading wasn’t something that came up a lot in day to day life for a Luperci.

Word Count → 393 :: So sorry for the delay darling!

The woman smiled as she looked thoughtfully at the words in her book, something that could always make her happy was a book. A perfect present for the book worm, the wallflower. Already her mind played the scenes she read, playing like it was a performance just inches from her quiet reading spot. The only sound that was not in her mind was the gentle sound of the wind playing through the empty houses and paintings that were hung up. This was the perfect moment, the sun was a subtle gift of warmth and the wind was the perfect temperature to just keep the weather in the realm of cool. Her book was open and already she had reached the third chapter, maybe which was because she has read the book at least twenty times.

The last thing she wanted was company; she was not much of a talker. More of a girl that sat there listened and watched the behavior of those around her. Plus she was into her book, why would she want to put it down? A voice caused her to jump, a soft sigh escaped her but she tried to keep her face smooth and calm. Radar-like ears moved in the direction of the disturbance, looking taller than normal as they sat perked on her skull.

Her eyes moved away from her book reluctantly but Clara was not one to turn someone away, or even act rudely to those that wanted to talk. Her head tilted lightly when the woman cursed in another language, her observant ways could tell she was in pain. How did that happen? A smile spread across her face as a rather friendly gesture, her hand moving slowly to signal the woman to sit. She even moved over as far as she could to give the collie space.

”Hello.” She smiled in her almost childlike voice, ”Feel free to sit if you wish ma’am.” She offered again before hearing the woman’s question, the book. Slowly she closed the scarlet hard back, flashing the flaked, golden title. ”Oh it’s called A Knight’s Tale.” She stated happily, it was a rather nice book. When the woman spoke of not many reading here she nodded as if she already knew, she found I scarce to see someone reading these days. ”Oh I noticed that.”

:O I see a Lullaby!

The woman seemed friendly enough, if a bit quiet. Neelareturned her smile of greeting with one of her own, albeit one a bit pained from the ache left over in her ribs from the errant movement. The collie shifted herself several times, wiggling about to try and find a position on the bench that wouldn’t strain her ribs though she stilled and her ears perked a bit when the woman answered her question, though the name of the book was admittedly meaningless to her; what few books Neela had read had mostly been on practical subjects like music, woodwork or fishing, for her books were less a form of leisure and more a source of information.

”It any good?” she asked mildly, just because reading for fun wasn;t her cup of tea didn’t mean she couldn’t understand the appeal. Being as curious and travel hungry as she was Neela would have loved the idea of reading tales from far away places and long ago if she were a less active person, as it was unless she actually needed so read something she had trouble sitting down long enough to get through an entire human book. Luperci books tended to be shorter she had found, but also of a lesser quality compared to human authors. Especially the writing. Luperci handwriting was usually just below passable at best while humans used some sort of witchcraft to get all their letters exactly the same shape; a bit unnerving but easier on the eyes.
