Saul Chibi is by Requiem!

It was hard to get his head around the fact that he and Lilin had just created a pack. A living, breathing pack with their family. It was a hard concept to get around- the two of them had been shifted from place to place for so long that the idea of a permanent home was something foreign now. They'd settled in to their new homes in Jordheim the day before yesterday, their first night as a new pack. It had been strange, waking yesterday morning with the light shining through the dusty window of the house that he had claimed. There was no organisation to his house at the moment and he'd been glad for the day ahead of him. He'd sorted through his house, cleaning it out, finding places for everything and generally making it feel like home. The rest of the day had been spent exploring, marking the territory, allowing his mind to run away with him. He wanted big things for Vinátta and they were going to take a long time to achieve.

This morning had dawned bright once again through his now clean windows and Saul had risen early. The run to the Lake was refreshing, as was the launch into the water. He swam for a bit, cleaning himself and preparing himself for the days exploration. He knew there were certain things that he wanted to find so that when they started building, they would have the tools for it. He didn't know what he was going to find and he didn't plan on being gone for more than a few hours. He told Temeraire where he was going and asked his son whether he would like to accompany him. His son's response was negative but expected- he and Elias had some serious exploring to do.

By noon, Saul found himself ascending into the mountains and he suffered a serious sense of de ja vu once more. He remembered the times he'd crossed the mountains to and from Ichika. He also remembered the last time he'd crossed through and down towards Casa, to drop of the mares until he could look after them again. Absently, he thought that he could now go and collect Maia, but she was close to her due date and he thought it best not to move her until her foal had been born. Lost in thoughts as he so usually was, he didn't realise he'd drifted close to the mines in the mountains until an old wooden board in the ground collapsed beneath him and he stopped, green eyes assessing his surroundings. He stepped back to safer grounds and remained for the moment, wondering if there was anything useful left down in the mines.

The morning sun was uncomfortable to be under, almost foreign to the cave dwelling woman, so long had it been that she traipsed above ground in under it's glaring light. But it was an inevitable thing, although one she did often put of for as long as possible; she had to be a responsible owner of Jason and allow the pheasant to enjoy the day every now and then, as well as collect the harder to locate ingredients of which she used the pheasant to find. Making a quick pit stop to the storage rooms, she gathered up a bag and a few strips of dried meat, stuffing her quickly written list of things she needed to gather into the leather sack as well, before hitching it over her shoulder and making her way out of her home lands into neutral grounds, Jason happily trailing behind her silently, seeming to relish in the warmer temperature and exhilarated by the simple fact that he got to stretch his legs and wings under the warmth of the vibrant sun.

Keeping her head down and moving with purpose, the Ninurta ignored any indication of lingering strangers and pushed the scents carried by the wind out of her mind after she briefly checked them, always cautious of her own safety before dismissing something. Quickly she and the pheasant settled into companionable silence, moving briskly upon well travelled trails heading to the area she had last found the strange plant that made her ink experiments smell more... bearable. Despite having used it once or twice before she did not know it's name or really understand it's uses or properties aside from that it neutralised some of the revolting odours her last few batches of ink had been known to generate.

Time passed at it was just over midday when the pair arrived at their destination, the golden woman ran ocean filled eyes over the foliage before instructing Jason to begin searching; one of the few beneficial things the bird was capable of. Rolling her shoulders she smiled after the bird, watching it disappear into thicker foliage before seeking out a shadowed spot upon the rocky terrain. Memory told her she was close to the mines, but the sun wore down at her energy and motivation and she couldn't bring herself to leave the cool shadow nor Jason who was diligently working.

Saul Chibi is by Requiem!

Running a swift hand through his hair, he allowed bright green eyes to search the ground before him. He had no desire to go crashing through a weak board to his death- he had far too much going for him right now. He thought back to the day before yesterday, the mournful howl that had pierced the silence of their newly formed pack lands. He'd been shocked to find another family member at their borders and Miskunn had greeted the female with affection before informing him and Lilin about who the female was. They'd accepted her into Vinátta, still a little shocked at the arrival of their first new member when they were just hours old.

A rustle close to his feet caused him to start from his thoughts before he looked down, spotting a peculiar looking bird. He had no name for it and it appeared completely unfazed by his presence. He thought that perhaps that might mean the bird belonged to someone. Green eyes were alight with curiosity as the bird began to root through the undergrowth near him, trying to find something perhaps. Saul stepped back to allow the bird access to more of the plants before a lupine scent made itself known. He looked up, unsure if he could spot anyone.

Hello? He called, wondering if the bird had a companion or if the wolf scent was completely unrelated. He remained silent, holding his tongue to see if anyone would answer his call.

Sheltered within the cold shade the heat and sheer brightness of the day became more bearable, although the golden woman was still not at ease or completely comfortable she could bare it for awhile. Closing her eyes she allowed her other scenes to reign supreme, the feel of the soft, cool breeze as it gently tussled he coat and coloured dreads, the smell of fresh earth, plants and stone and the occasional rustling noise created by Jason as he rummaged around, looking for ingredients of interest to bring back to his master.

A lazy smile spread across her lips as she finally began to adjust to the day time and relax a little, mind drifting away into idle day dreams only to be drawn back to reality when one of her sense alerted her of some change, namely Jason coming and going, dropping the odd berry or plant fragment by her paws before scuttling off again.

There she was sat when the wind changed, carrying the scent of a strange and the sound of his footsteps following not long behind. Opening one eye she waited patiently for the man to seek her out, unwilling to leave her shaded spot and not all the fussed whether he actually came to greet her or passed. Eventually it seemed that a grey and earth toned male, barely visible from where she sat but there none the less, the male approached Jason first before seeking her out and speaking a greeting that seemed like a question at the same time.

Raising an arm lazily she waved it in the air to draw attention to herself. “Hey!” she called out to the other, before dropping her arm. “Golden coloured woman with colourful dreads and he doesn't spot me instantly. Guy needs to have his eyes checked” she whispered to herself, fixing a welcoming smile to her lips to look approachable if the other chose to come over to her.

Saul Chibi is by Requiem!

He attention was still caught by the strange looking bird, despite the call he'd made to whomever the avian belonged to. It was certainly very strange- he'd never come across anything of the like. He remembered the small fruit and insect eating birds that frequented the forests, and he recalled the birds of prey such as Eirias and the owls he had sometimes seen around. This was neither of those and Saul had no word to associate the animals shape and colouring. It was an enigma, and this immediately ignited the curiosity in Saul. He was never one to find something interesting and leave it unturned. He was tempted to try and catch the bird to study it in greater depth, but the heavy scent of wolf on it and the relative ease with which it moved around him told him that it belonged to someone.

That someone deigned to answer his call with a simple and feminine 'hey'. Saul turned, spotting a figure in a shady spot not too long away. Now that he'd spotted her, Saul realised he was a fool for not having done previously, but in his defense she was in the shade and his attention had been predominantly on the bird. With one last glance at the avian companion, Saul moved away. It took him only a few moments to reach the shaded spot with which the female relaxed in. Her scent revealed little- Saul had had very little to do with the Anathemans over the mountains and did not recognise their scent readily.

Good afternoon miss! I didn't mean to disturb you. Is that your bird? The questions came thick and fast and Saul shut his mouth with a snap of his teeth. He looked towards her slightly apologetic, before deciding to actually introduce himself. I'm sorry... I'm Saul Stormbringer, one of the leaders of Vinátta. He revealed, hoping he wasn't talking far too much to be an annoyance.

OOC ENDING

Saul and Grace get past introductions, revealing where they come from. Saul explains to Grace that Vinátta is a newly formed pack and asks about the bird. They discover a mutual love of books and learning (as well as animals) and Saul reveals that Vinátta are going to be building a library shortly. After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Saul extracts himself from the conversation and returns to Vinátta.
