It wasn't particularly sad event. Nor was Io particularly moved by the fact she was tasked with killing the two elder sheep. Not in the way of squeamishness or pity on the creatures. They'd past their use and Io (and Aniwaya) had no interest in keeping things with no purpose. The hybrid had collected a knife from the storage and travelled up towards the stables two collect the old pair of ewes. Her spear travelled with her of course, as she had become inseparable from it, even in her sleep. It remained dutifully beside her in her dreams. Io had grown accustomed to the swirls in the wood and had even added two feathers, one red and one white, to it's form. Her own customisation, reflecting her heritage, her old home. She made haste to the pen where the sheep stayed, picking out the two elder creatures from afar and moving towards them. With the two loops of rope she'd prepare Io tied them by the neck and led them away from the pen and into a clearing. Of course she had better taste than to slaughter the creature right in front of it kin. But when there were only two of them, it was a different matter. They wouldn't care. Soon they'd be meat stripes. Taking the knife she made quick work. Leaving them for a second she found Neo and brought them up onto his back as there was no way she'd be able to carry them to her hut alone. 'Simcha, are you able to help me with these?' As the male walked past, 'Vv. Sure'. And they spent the night curing the meat into thick stripes before bringing them to the storage.
