The sun's rays beat down upon Keldava, sinking into her dark fur and sending a pleasant warmth spreading throughout her body, further lulling the puppy into the half-sleep she was teetering at the edge of.

Keldava's wanderings had taken her to a rather pleasant part of the pack territory, a lightly forested area where trees close together but not tightly packed left the ground dappled with shadows and small patches of sun, occasionally breaking apart into small sections of light; such as the one Keldava was dozing in.

Keldava wasn't out today in search of idle exploring but to try and unwind. The last few weeks had been stressful to the puppy as she watched one by one her siblings begin to shift, attaining the bipedal and halfling forms that defined the Luperci from a regular wolf. While it didn’t some up often Keldava was often rather sore about technically being the youngest of her siblings and, despite the fact that the age difference measured in mere minutes, watching them all shift before her was distressing.

Despite her stress Keldava's frustration wasn't directed at her siblings - she was too protective over Dalgina and Pandora to really get angry with then, especially for things they had no control over, and her relationship with Honrin was good if a little bit distant at times - so instead her frustrations were directed at her own body, slowly turning to fear. When Honrin and Pandora had shifted ahead of her and pretty much on schedule she was annoyed but now, a full week after Dalgina had shifted, Keldava was starting to believe that there was something wrong with her body. Maybe she would never shift, stuck as a normal wolf her entire life while her siblings all walked around on two legs? It was something that she didn’t want to think about and burying her head in her paws and losing her mind in the sun helped her to do this.

Dalgina had woken up from a lovely nap, thick fur curling around her body. Secui form was definitely the best for sleeping in. It was so large and comfy, with lots of thick fur to keep her warm. Yawning she stretched out, shaking her body. Sniffing the air Dalgina noticed Keldava wasn't nearby. Immediately she stretched out and began following the trail, wanting to see her sister. Dalgina always wanted to spend time with her, curling up and trailing after her even after she had shifted.

Realizing that Keldava hadn't shifted yet Dalgina paused, changing back into lupine form. With that she bounded forwards until she came across the lump that was her sister, huddled on the ground. Slowing down Dalgina stared at her, wondering what was going on. Reaching over Dalgina poked at her sister with her nose. Keli? You okay? Whining softly she laid down, wondering what had gotten into her rambunctious sister.

Keldava's burgeoning sense of smell detected her sister's presence long before she had come into earshot but rather than try and attract her attention instead Keldava feigned sleep; for once she didn’t feel like talking to 'Gina or any of her other siblings.

Unfortunately it seemed that 'Gina wasn't fooled by her act as her sister, in Lupus form Keldava noted somewhat bitterly, day down besides her, wet nose poking into Keldava's fur. Keldava raised her head when 'Gina spoke, forcing her ears up and trying to sound cheerful, "Huh? Yeah, 'm fine, jus sleeping." She even added a fake yawn at the end.

The entire thing rang hollow and was obviously fake, for all her steadily improving physical attributes and skills lying wasn't a skill Keldava could count among her repertoire and even she acknowledged this, letting her ears fall back down to their dejected position after an awkward moment and lowering her head back down onto her paws.

"Still haven’t shifted. Been ages since you shifted, since you all shifted! You an 'Dora an 'Rinrin all shifted an I still ain't!" Keldava started off quietly, voice muffled but as she spoke her voice slowly gained strength, and showed more signs of distress. Finished ranting Keldava flopped back down , curling up into a ball and whining dejectedly into the floor.

She hated being like this, so weak in front of her sister. Usually Keldava would push aside any fears or worries she had to keep a brave face around her siblings but not shifting for so long had gotten the pup more worked up than anything she had encountered before and it was overriding her usual instincts.

She watched as Keldava put on a lousy act, pretending to be sleeping. The sorrow coming from Keldava was still clear to see though, bothering Dalgina. Keldava was always the strong one, and now she seemed so small. Separate from everyone else. Did she feel left out? Dalgina had certainly felt a gap between her and the older siblings when they'd shifted so quickly. Now that Keldava was the only one, what did she think? Did she think Dalgina had left her behind? She would never do that! She loved her sister too much.

So it was that. Whining Dalgina poked at Keldava, trying to think of how to make it better. She wasn't sure what had triggered her shift, as she'd been asleep for the most part. It was only after that she started actually shifting, but by then it had already been triggered. Thinking Dalgina's tail wagged. We make you shift! If Dalgina just thought about shifting and changed, then maybe it would work the same for Keldava. Just think really hard, and she would change.
