OOC: Fayne doesn't exactly know what being in heat means. She only knows that it makes males act strangely. X3 / +692

For the first time in about a month, Fayne was resting well. She was curled up comfortably in the safety of the den and Amy had not entered her dreams once tonight allowing her mental trauma time to dissipate. Soon, the morning light seeped into the den calling for all to wake. The sun wasn't what awoke the sleeping silver princess, but a sudden intensity that seemed to engulf her mind and body. It was a strange but good feeling like all was well in the world. Emerald eyes opened to see her pack mates sleeping all around. What was odd was that she felt as though eyes were on her, waiting for her to make a move, yet all were sleeping soundly.

With a small playful whimper, the small female flipped over on her back and stretched her legs. She rolled around for a moment, her plush tail thumped on the mossy floor of the den. She rolled back over to stretch once more releasing a large yawn followed by quiet whine. It wasn't until a strong aroma filled her nose that she managed to figure out what was going on. This scent had occurred once before and it had brought peril upon her and her siblings. The intense scent that radiated off of her had led rogue males right to them which she was forced to fight off. Fayne was puzzled. She didn't quite understand what it was. She only knew that it attracted males and the last time it had almost killed her sister.

Fayne stood and looked around, another female in New Dawn was going through the same thing. None other than her Alphess, Titania, was also radiating with the intense smell. The she-wolf cocked her head as she sniffed the air trying to find out the meaning of this. She wished she could simply ask Titania but couldn't gather the courage to go to her with such a petty dilemma. As quickly and as quietly as she could she exited the den hoping that none of the males saw her leave. She felt like she needed to get far far away so that none of them could smell her. The first place that came to mind was her beloved meadow. Maybe if she rolled around in the flowers enough she would be able to mask the putrid aroma. Fayne glided, well more like gimped, across the landscape making a straight shot for the meadow. She noticed a increase in energy, she felt like she could run for miles without stopping for a break even with a limp. The silver wolf's tongue hung freely from her mouth as she sprinted. She was so happy!

Once she got there she dove into a flower bed, the same citrus flowers Zalen had shown her. They had the strongest aroma she could smell in the meadow. Fayne rolled around for several minutes desperately trying to rid her body of the scent. It wouldn't go away!! Now, she smelled like the putrid scent AND flowers. She gave a sigh and tried to determine what to do next. She couldn't return, she was certain she would have trouble keeping eyes off of her. Eyes of all the males in the pack. She came to one conclusion, that she would have to stay here until the scent went away. But how long would that be? Fayne dove back into the flower bed and tried some more to get rid of the stench the whole time she was yipping and whining happily. Whatever this was, she liked it. Unfortunately, it had a very nasty side effect, it attracted males and she wanted to get rid of it. But rolling around just wasn't alleviating her body of the stench. Eventually, she gave up and simply lay there in complete bliss.

Mind if i join?

The dark male had been having trouble adjusting to this way of pack life; shareing a den with the whole pack was new to him and he had been having trouble with his sleep because of it but at last he had started to relax and even stopped wearing his cloak and loin cloth; having stored them with his sword in a secret hiding place. This morning however was different; this morning he was again having trouble sleeping but not for the den being full of his new packmates, no it was because of the scent that had reached his nose and woke him; the scent of a female in heat and it allured him and called to him. Poor kota had delt with this type situation before, it had been his sister then and he had his paws full with controling himself and dealing with horny males who wanted her.

The female stood and stretched and the dark one smiled; he had noticed this one before and had thought her very beautiful; he did not know if she had a mate yet but deep down he secretly hoped she didn't. He watched her as she left the den behind her, once she was gone Kota stood and stretched himself out as well then followed after the female. The dark male stayed at a safe distence behind her and tracked her through that alluring scent alone yet when he finally found her in the beautiful meadow he forgot all about why he had followed her. He watched her frolic in the flowers; all of which didn't compare to the grace and beauty of the female among them. But eventually the wind blew the scent back to him and he remembered why he had followed after her; to offer assistence against other males....not to be one who hounds after her.

The dark male, Kota, slipped from the forest and into the meadow to flow like a shadow out into the flowers that were the playground for the female. He kept his pace slow and even so she would see that he was not going to be like other males; he would be different and try to contain himself. Kota announced himself before he reached her with a friendly yip and he made sure to stop before he got to close to her "hello there, my name is Kota...and if i may say so..it seems you have yourself a problem?" the question was not entirely a question but also a statement. Kota gave a friendly smile to the female in hopes that she wouldn't bolt.

Today, felt like the best day of her life. The sun shone brightly above and the warmth penetrated her thick coat while the flowers caressed her face and body. Their scents wafted into her nose being washed out by the scent that radiated from her fur. She was sensitive to even the slightest touch or sound. The birds around her sounded like a symphony celebrated the light of the day. The slender female let her eyes shut and simply let the sun come down on her face. The warmth was lovely. Fayne almost drifted into another slumber but a stranger's yelp kept her from doing so. She rolled over and raised her head, ears perked as she looked over at the ember wolf. Eyes blinked widely surprised that someone had followed her, of course it wasn't a problem. This scent was causing such a pleasant feeling that anyone was welcome in her meadow. Fayne yelped back at him, tail thumping on the ground behind her. When he spoke, she cocked her head. Problem? What problem was there to be had on such a fine day? Then she recalled the scent and how she'd left the den. It wasn't such a big problem, she just wasn't sure what would come of this smell. She knew it made those of the male gender act strange, but that was all. This one didn't seem to be phased by it though, which only made her happier.

Fayne stood and took a couple steps closer wearing a happy grin. "Hi Kota..I'm Fayne. Isn't it a lovely day?" She smiled and then answered his question. "There's no problem. I feel better than ever, the sun in shining brightly. New Dawn is such a lovely place which I am lucky to call home. Nothing could be better." She didn't want to admit, but it was a small problem. The first time this had happened it had attracted danger, but all seemed to be well in New Dawn. Kota was the only one to notice her departure and he wasn't scary and crazed like the rogue males had been the last time. Something was off though. Fayne found herself unusually attracted to this dark stranger. All she wanted was to approach him and show her affections. But, she didn't know him so she hesitated. A low whine came from her lips. Why did she feel such intensity towards him? The smell? That must be it, there was no other reason that she would feel this way. So happy, full of bliss, and seemingly attracted to Kota which had only spend a few seconds in her presence. A puzzled look appeared on her face as her eyes wandered over him, legs quivered underneath her as she tried to hold her ground. Her tail was swaying so fast and she couldn't control it. What was going on?

Kota was mildly surprised at the returned yelp of a greeting and even more so when it sounded so happy; he hadn't known someone in her condition to be this joyious but then again maybe it effected every female differently. She seemed sort of happy to see him and this made him feel even more welcome in New Dawn then he had already. Her words of how it was such a great day brought a soft chuckle from him and he nodded his agreement "it is indeed a wonderful day, Fayne, was it?" he wanted to make sure he was saying it right before he ended up insulting her. The dark male smiled handsomely at her when she spoke of not having a problem; he would not press the matter for if it weren't a problem for her then there was no use in arguing about it.

The black wolf noticed her leg twitching and heard that light whine; he gave another smile for he would not mind having her company closer to him; she was indeed a very attractive wolfess and it wasn't the scent that made him feel this way either. He had been attracted to her from the moment he saw her when he had first entered the pack den; she had been a vision of loveliness that captured his eyes and had not let them see any other female. Truth being told he wanted to go to her as well; the urge almost overpowering him to rush foward and brush against her; to show affection, but he held himself in check because he felt that would scare her.

Kota at first didn't trust himself to speak for fear of his thoughts betraying his mouth but at last he uttered softly "the meadow is beautiful...but not as much as you" he instantly berated himself for saying such a thing after only being in her company for such a short time. His body like hers held a scent but his own was a soft mixture of dirt and pine and his own natural scent which was a surprisingly good mixture. The dark one stood and took a single step foward then hesitated as he went to take another; he stood tall above the flowers on his hind legs in Luperci form; he did not know how to shift back and would have if he did know.

Intense blue eyes gazed back at her, she felt drawn to Kota and couldn't keep her own emerald eyes off of him. His chuckle brought out a brighter smile and small giggle from her while her tail picked up even faster. Head lifted when he nodded, glad he agreed. This place was the one place that she called hers, even though it truly wasn't. It was as much hers as it was every other pack members, but felt close to this part of New Dawn. Her face beamed as she spoke of her pack and her rank, she was proud of both. "Yes, Fayne Gremory. I'm a Delta here. I'm glad you agree. It's always beautiful in New Dawn though, even when the skies are grey the land remains lush and green." Her rank held importance to her. Something she could grow off of and a sign that she was becoming more important to her pack. Something she never got a chance to experience before coming here.

Fayne couldn't place it, why was Kota so different? He wasn't reacting tot he smell the way she expected him to. Maybe he was too far away to notice it. She cocked her head trying to determine what it was and why her heat was effecting more than it was him. She wanted to move closer, but hesitated. The Optime form frightened her slightly, getting closer would be a feat. After her run in with Amy she couldn't help but feel frightened by the two-legged creatures. She couldn't help it though, drawn to him. She began to approach him slowly unsure what her state would cause. Slender legs carried her towards him, head lowered shyly as she kept her eyes glued to his ember figure. Soon, she was no further than four feet away but came to a halt too shy to go any further. Bushy tail continued to sway in delight for the stranger.

Kota's next words caused the silver fae's face to become warm, head lowering as eyes accepted the compliment. Then, she was reminded of the horrible scar on her left shoulder by a tinge of achiness. Her eyes shifted to it becoming saddened by the sight of it. A reminder of her failure that marred her for life, it was hideous. The self-consciousness that she tried so hard to hide was impossible to keep hidden now that the scar adorned her flesh. She looked back at Kota. "I would have to disagree. This meadow is untouched by the evils of the world. It's peaceful and lovely and perfect, much prettier than I am." When he began to approach, she backed up startled by the movement. It was silly for her to be scared of him but she couldn't help it because of that blonde bitch. Hopefully, with time, she would overcome her fears. She shook her head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." Eyes darted to the floor ashamed of her actions.

The way she moved was as graceful as the gentle breeze that blew through the meadow; which blew her scent to him once again and with that he shivered and exaled slowly. That lovely scent; the heat she was experiencing just complimented her natural scent even more and it drove him mad with desire; the male wanted so direly to go to her and make her his but also he knew such things weren't right. There again her voice spoke and sounded as music upon the breeze but her words brought a realization to him; she held higher rank then him; the dark one lowered himself to a sitting position once again. He wanted so much to reach out and beckon her to him and without him realising he was even doing it; thats what he did.

Kota had raised his hand in beckoning to her; would she come to him? he noticed how she had backed up when he had taken a step toward her; every bit of his being wanted to assure her that he would not bring harm upon her "i disagree...every part of you is more beautiful then anything nature could hope to produce" another smile. Then the wind again brought her scent to him and he again shivered in delight of it; he wanted this female....no...he wanted Fayne Gremory, to show her affection and care that he didn't know she needed.

His mind screaming at him; holding the chains desperatly that bound him back from making the wrong move; which he knew he would if he were to give in. His eyes came to the scar when she looked at it yet if she were to look into his eyes she would not see pitty or disgust; only acceptence and the truth that he found that part of her just as beautiful as the rest. "Please. Do not hide it...it's...becoming of you..makes you...." dare he say it aloud? she held higher rank then he; if he said something wrong she could easily have him punished "more attractive to me" he mentally prepared himself; he blew it and he knew he did.

Fayne noted Kota's change in posture when she mentioned her rank. It gave her a confidence boost, head and tail coming high to claim her dominance over him. The ember male raised a hand and motioned her to walk towards him. Her head lowered once again, not sure if she should. She didn't know what would come of it if she were to approach the Optime male. Optime, if only he was in Lupus. She would feel much more inclined to approach him if he didn't tower over her like a human, like Amy had. She felt a part of herself withdraw from the male, even if her body was telling her to listen to the hand motion he gave her. He continued to smother her with compliments which increased her confidence even more. Did he really think she was that beautiful? She wasn't the flawless fae that she was before the Amy incident. The horrid scar crippled all self confidence she had in herself. "Well, I am a product of nature, just like the plants and trees in this meadow. So are you and every wolf. But, thank you." Previously, a part of her knew she was beautiful but that was gone.

She noticed the next quiver his body made right after a slight breeze. It was the heat doing the same thing it was doing to her. Her own legs were still quivering beneath her wanting to carry her forwards towards the solid Optime mass of muscle and fur. The wolf's smile was charming, alluring. She wanted so bad to come to him, tail swayed behind her faster than before. Her heart began beating in her small chest, a rush passing through her as she looked at him. What was this? The time before, she hadn't felt this way. The male's had threatened her family so she had fought them off and hated them every moment.

She watched his eyes drift to the horrible scar in the shape of a wolf's eye. Emerald eyes focused on some pretty flowers nearby. She didn't want him to look at it, she didn't want anyone to look at it. She wished it would disappear, it was a horrible symbol of her failure. She glanced up at him, his expression surprised her. His eyes seemed to be admiring the puffed up flesh on her shoulder, accepting the horrible mark that blond had left. His words lulled her from the self-conscious state she was in, head coming higher and ears perking forward. He really thought that? That it made her more attractive? Her ears flattened not believing the words he spoke. It was definitely the heat making him talk that way. But, then her mind flitted to Noah. He was scarred from head to toe and was even missing a leg but he was still charming. A light smile shone on her dark face. Maybe his words were the truth. It didn't matter though, the heat had drawn him here and nothing more. "You don't really mean that. It's this stupid smell making you say that. Right? I mean, it's ugly and horrid. I want it gone."

The dark male smiled as she rose to show her rank; that to made her seem even more beautiful, a proud female that knew her place and showed it effectively. Yet her words caused him to frown a little, she had caught him there "its true that we are all apart of nature...but your beauty shines brighter then any other" he lowered his hand slowly when she didn't come to him and he knew why for it wasn't the first time someone was scared of him for being in Optime form but never before had he so desperately wanted to change to the Lupus form he was born with. That desperate need to be with her; the need to be Lupus and her fear triggered something in him; in his skull there was almost an audiable click as something slipped into place. The dark one fell foward and grasped his head in pain for a moment as his body began its change for the first time since his birth; it was a painfull experience.

Yet when it was over; there laying on his side, Kota in his Lupus form; whatever it was that went wrong in his first shift was fixed by that desperate need to not scare her; she had helped him. Slowly and on shaking legs Kota stood up, he had heard her last words just before his change and they saddend him "your heat...your scent has given me the curage to follow you...but i have been admiring you from afar since i came here" his voice still held a hint of pain from the shift and he didn't trust himself to keep talking; to admit that he longed for her and it wasn't the scent that did it.

Kota took a single step toward her again but almost instantly brought it back again in rememberence of the first time he did that and she backed away "whatever has happend to you before" he could tell something had but didn't know what "i will not do the same...i wont hurt you...i could never hurt you" he spoke with such passion and care filling his voice. He decided to take a chance and take another step toward her; his body calling out to hers once again but in a different way then he had earlier; now it seemed to sing for her just in the way he moved.

It definitely had to be the heat making this poor stranger act the way he was. Nothing but kind words and compliments were pouring from his maw. Intense blue eyes continued to gaze back at her and she couldn't help but feel flattered by the attention he was giving. It was irresistible. She found herself smiling like a dork, tail fluttering behind her uncontrollably. When she noticed her dopey grin she immediately hid it under a more regal smile bringing her head up higher. Of course it was the scent that was making her so prone to his words. Otherwise she'd be confused, wondering why he was treating her so. She wasn't one to understand the reason behind it. Even so, under her thick layers of plush silver fur she blushed captured by the compliments. Eyes darted to the ground, then back to Kota who was holding his head as if he was in pain. "Kota!" She wast about to rush forward when the dark figure began to hunch. Bones cracked loudly under his skin shifting and turning visibly. It was a horrid sight which she'd never laid eyes upon. One changing before her eyes.

Emerald eyes widened and stomach became a bit queasy at the sight. Now she understood how frightening it must have been for Tharin seeing her shift right in front of her eyes. Shifting was something intimate to be kept hidden from others, unless you could shift fast enough that one didn't notice the audible crackles and visible shifting of bones. She had only shifted a few times since being turned and only shifted when the urge became too strong to hold back. Luperci were strange creatures. Once the shift finished, the black mass lay there in the meadow, still. Panic struck her for a moment. The transformation back to lupus form had looked painful. She rushed forward with worry for the dark stranger. When she reached him he began to stand, body quivering under weak legs. She leaned in to nuzzle him hoping he was alright. The shift had looked immensely painful. "Kota, are you alright?" The sight of the dark lupus male comforted her some, but why had he shifted in such a drastic way? Then he spoke. Fayne's head tilted, bemused at his words. She had caused this? Had he never shifted before? Even she knew that only the first shift would be so painful. Her tail hung flat behind her as worrisome eyes looked down on him. "To follow me? What do you mean?" He had been admiring her? She felt a bit guilty, for not even introducing herself before today. She'd seen him around but had never spoken to the ember wolf before. "Admiring me? I don't understand Kota. Have you never shifted before?" A million questions built up in her head, curiosity building for the mysterious ember wolf.

Fayne didn't quite understand what it was he was speaking of. The slender silver wolf leaned in to nudge him again releasing a soft whine. She could hear the pain in his voice. He spoke again, only confusing her more. Of course he wouldn't hurt her, he was her pack brother. She wasn't worried about that. Maybe he saw the fear in her when he stood before her in optime form. She shook her head violently trying to understand the situation. "I'm not worried about you hurting me. Recent happenings have made me fearful of Luperci, but everyone in this pack is my family and I would never think any of you would harm me. I'm safe here. Don't worry about it." She was still wide eyed and a bit surprised of what had happened. At least the queasiness had subsided leaving only worry behind.

The dark one smiled at the beauty's concern for him; he still felt weak but it was passing now, but he could also see the confusion in her eyes "maybe i should explain...when i was first born i shifted to the Luperci state and something went wrong in his brain...i was stuck that way ever since. But seeing you wanting so much to not be the cause of the fear in your eyes that something happend...you helped fix whatever was wrong with me" he was overjoyed to be normal once again but that joy paled in comparison to the feeling of joy that he felt when she brushed against him or nuzzled him. The dark male dipped his head even further then he had before and gave the side of her neck a light nuzzle; her scent, the natural one mixed with her heat was so intoxicating but he still held himself in check.

Kota tilted his head only slightly when she spoke in confusion about him admiring her "i first caught sight of you the night i entered the den for the first time...you were sleeping and you looked so peavefull...from that moment on...i had eyes only for you" he too felt a blush under his fur. Her heated scent only gave him the courage to follow her here to finally speak to her; and yes that scent influnced him gave him an almost overpowering urge to mate her then and there but he controlled himself; it was hard but he would not let those chains on himself go even for an instant.

The male sat down once more but this time it felt strange to him, he had this new form now; the Lupus form which was all new to him. The many things he would have to learn how to do again; how to hunt and even how to effectively walk right but he would do it and be greatful for having met Fayne and her helping to fix him. Her last words about recent happenings with a Luperci saddend him and angered him as well but he also felt compelled to give her a soft nuzzling nudge to reassure her.

OOC: I apologize for Fayne. She's a complete derp when it comes to love and stuff like that. X3 / +525

The charcoal wolf's smile dampened her worry which disappeared beneath her own bright smile back at him. He had a way about him that was charming. Tail slowly started to sway once again when his lips began to form words. The pain in his voice was subsiding which was a good sigh. Her first shift had been painful, but only that one shift. Hopefully, he wouldn't experience this again. Curiousity filled her. He'd been in Optime form every since he was born? Fayne had never heard of such a strange occurrence. She knew that Luperci went through the first shift when they reached a certain age, but he had experienced his first shift at birth. She didn't think anything was wrong with him though and a giggle escaped her lips. "I'm glad I could help you. Although I don't think there was anything wrong in the first place. You were just stuck like that for a while and needed a push. At least that silly fear I have now was useful for something." She let her eyes wander over his new body. He was a well built large wolf, very attractive and strong. "This is much better anyways."

Kota came close nuzzling her neck and she found herself leaning into him, forgetting all the formalities. This cursed heat. She returned his affection with a couple licks on the cheek unable to stay away. The male before her was nearly irresistible. A quiver was sent down her spine, a sudden burst of energy and lust for the stranger. More coaxing words were sent her way. The wolf that she had only met moments ago seemed to be head over heals for the young fae. The only problem was, even with all the kind words being tossed at her, she was clueless how to respond to such a situation. Never before had she been treated so kindly. Of course Noah was kind, and Tharin was kind. But Kota's kindness was different. He was trying to woo her. Another flush of warmth developed under her coat in response to his words. What was she supposed to say?

Fayne back away to look at him. "But, we've never even met before. How could you have eyes for only me if we've never met? You know nothing about me and I know nothing about you. Except that your name is Kota and you've never shifted before." She couldn't help but smile at the thought. Head cocked at the statement, ears twitching intently for the answer. She didn't understand the concept. Before coming here, there was no need to worry about finding a mate or anything of the sort. Of course, she let her mind wonder, hoping that one day she would. She always thought it would take a long while to stumble across someone. But here Kota was saying words that she had no idea how to respond to. Fayne sat herself down wrapping her tail around her legs like a feline would do. Emerald eyes full of thought remained planted on the ember male, curious about him.

Sorry its kinda short, my back is killing me and my muse tonight

Kota's smile returned when she licked his cheek; that caused a warm feeling to spread through his body, what was this feeling? this bliss he felt at having her near him and that lick? could it be her heat effecting him or was it...love?... The feeling was new to him but he liked it very much "don't sell yourself short, you were the one that gave it the push" he laughs lightheartedly but her next words cause his smile to fade momentarily; she thought he looked better like this? The dark ones smile returned ten fold now and he felt more happy then he ever had in his life.

Tentively as if he were afraid he would scare her away, he gave a soft lick to her cheek as well. The dark colored male lowered himself down into the flowers just as she backed away from him; he thought about her words carefully and how he should answer best "i can't explain it...its like when i saw you...all the other females...all the other wolves just disappeared from the den" he lowered his eyes to the flowers infront of him as he thought slowly over what all she had just said to him. It was true that they knew next to nothing about each other but he wanted to learn everything about her.

Kota looked up again and spoke slowly and carefully "what do you wish to know about me Fayne?...i will tell you anything you wish to know and i wish to know all there is about you as well...i can't explain why..." Once again he looked down at the ground; this whole subject confused him and he felt helpless about what to do; of course he knew how to flirt and what he had said to her so far was more truth then flirting but as for what to do next he had no idea. This was his first experience in which he actually desired a female as much as he did Fayne.
