WC: 336 OOC: Eclipse has Grace *Liliana's horse* so anyone who's met Liliana knows about grace ^^ also in her optime form

She had decided that among all the packs that was around the vacinity, Cercatori d’ Arte was the best for her. To better herself in her cooking and not only that but to learn about their trade and merchanting thing. Something that seemed to be pretty unique to the pack. This was something that was sure to be a challange. And it was close to Dahlia, or where it had once been and now much of the Casa place, a place of valor and knights, resided. She thought of going there, but she didn’t feel very chivelrous nor did she think she had much she could give them already meeting a man who helped them with their cooking and hunting needs. She was sure that her services with her cooking, her archery, even her defenses could help the pack known as Cercatori. She was excited. and so when she came to the border she wasn’t sure how to call. She had been escorted by Saul when she went to Ichika and she was only a puppy when she joined Crimson dreams.... now.... here she was not sure of how to approach the pack.

Grace decided for her. A neighing sound came as the mare bent to her knees and laid down. Eclipse looked at the horse in a panic. Her heart pounded hard against her chest as she knew this was the time. A time of need! Eclipse howled frantically for help, she didn’t know how to foal, and barely knew how to take care of a mature horse. How could she help a horse give birth. she grabbed her brown tendrils of hair and looked at the horse in panic as she started breathing hard and neighing frantically. Was there something wrong, was she in agony? Why? The questions swam through the girls head as she stood helpless watching the horse giving birth. How long would it be before she had the foal and how long would it take for someone to come see them?

Big Grin yay

The alpha female was kneeling in the garden, tending to her plants which were flourishing in the summer weather. She smiled at one of the bushes, plucking a berry from it and popping it in her mouth - sweet as always, and healthy too, as the berries littered the bush thoroughly.

Ears perked suddenly and hair stood on end as a panicked howl came from her borders. Springing to her feet, she quickly made her way to the borders, hand on her dagger - the voice that had called was not familiar to her, but that did not make her any less urgent in her movements; someone was in need on her borders, and she would not let that need go ignored.

She broke through the bushes blocking the borders; the sight that met her was quite the strange one. A wolf, looking quite panicked and confused, was next to a horse - a horse she had seen before, way back when she had met Liliana about horses, introducing her own as Grace. Grace was lying on the ground, exhibiting strange behavior that Skye had never seen in a horse before. It didn't take long for her to connect the horse's protruding belly to her strange behavior, however, and she concluded that the horse was giving birth.

"Don't panic," she told the wolf, kneeling down next to the horse and putting a hand on her head. Skye wasn't exactly sure what she was doing, but she knew that panicking would not help the situation. She recalled her own birthing - Taliesin had helped greatly, but the large amount she had done for herself - she applied this knowledge to the horse, hoping that she was correct. "Just allow her to give birth to her foal - don't panic, though, or you may stress her more than she is already."

WC:333 OOC: Grace is foaling 2 babies, but one will pass on. XD just a heads up and OK to pp the horse!!! Big Grin

The girl was quite relieved as a woman came dashing out of the bushes. She looked at her helpless and could see that the woman was assessing the situation. The words that came out of her mouth was calm and endeering. Eclipse nodded and looked over at Grace who was again picking herself up. Did horses do this? Stand up and lay down?

“Is she ok? She sounds so hurt. Shouldn’t we do something?”

Eclipse clung to the hope the woman knew what was happening. Grace snorted and pawed at the ground. The thought of the horse in so much pain worried the woman. She had not been with her for long, but the animal was something familiar in the travel through the souls area now, she had been follwing her for a while. Then the horse again sat back down, evidently trying to become comfortable. Eclipse moved slowly towards the horse, not sure how she would react. She didn’t seem to act as though she were about to bite Eclipse and this was the first time Grace had let her even touch her. Eclipse patted her neck, her own heart beating and her eyes wide with fear still but the woman who had come from the d’ Arte borders had calmed her. The horse neighed and Eclipse could feel she was bearing down and she looked to see something small wet, and gross looking coming from her back end. The girl, not at all use to such events closed her eyes again and held onto the horses head.

“Please, please do something for her she saved my life I wouldn’t forgive myself if she died. she is in so much pain!”

Eclipse cried into the horses neck. She was scared this was hurting the horse more than it should have. Little did she know this was normal, though what was about to happen to the horse was not at all normal to them.

She smiled reassuringly at the girl as she asked if they should do something, and commented on how much she sounded like she hurt. "Birthing hurts," she said. "Trust me." The birthing of her own pups had hurt quite a bit, and she was sure that giving birth to a horse was no less painful. To the question of whether they should do something, though, the female simply shook her head.

She watched as the horse went through convulsions - she was sure that it seemed horrible to the wolf girl, but she recalled it as normal. As the horse went through another convulsion, a small wet sack escaped from the horse's lower half - a foal. Although it should have stopped by now if this was her only one, it appeared that it wasn't - another was on the way, it seemed.

The girl cried as the horse made a pained sound - Skye attempted to put her hand on the girl's shoulder, trying to calm her. "It's alright - this is all normal." She put her other hand on the horse's neck, rubbing it, attempting to soothe her - it was true that this was normal and there was little they could do to ease the pain of birth, but she could at least give Grace and her owner a bit more reassurance.

"You can do it, Grace," she murmured reassuringly to the horse as she went through yet another convulsion. The horse went through a spasm and let out another pain-laced neigh, closing her eyes shut as she attempted to push out what was left inside her.

As she did, another wet sack began to slide out from the horse's bottom half. Grace made another noise before going through one last slight spasm, pushing out the foal for good. She then began to calm down, her breathing stabilizing and growing slower, before nudging her head to look to the foals she had birthed. In another minute, Skye thought, she would begin to clean the mess from her foals and help them feed for the first time.

The moment where the horse was pushing out the foals seemed to be the worst for her. Grace had not one... but two babies inside her, both of them very small, both covered in slime and both not moving. Eclipse glanced their way and the horse sat up, pulling free from the woman’s grasp to eat away at the placenta. The first one she nudge made a tiny incoherent noise, She breathed. The horse went to the second, nudging it after she had cleared and no noise came out. Eclipse wasn’t staring at the horse though no... she was staring at the red headed woman.

“Y-you know who she is? ”

She looked at the horse who now failed to revive the second foal. Eclipse moved over tentitively to the unmoving baby. It had no breath in it... in fact it was probably gone for a little while now. A tear ran down Eclipse’s cheek as she touched the baby’s face, and looked over to the wet foal trying to lift itself up. Grace rose to her feet and helped the baby, now giving up on the one who wouldn’t rise ever. Eclipse looked on as she watched the mother help the baby get its very first drink of mothers milk.

“poor baby, I am so sorry.”

The girl said looking at the stillborn laying motionless.

She watched on as Grace ate at the placenta, and then moved on to help her foals. One of them, she noted, was not moving nor breathing - Skye looked down sadly at the little foal, not yet given a chance to live her life. It was a sad thing, something not taken away, but never given in the first place. She looked at the female wolf, who was now staring at her.

"Yes, I know Liliana," she said. She would have asked how she was, but she felt that now was not the time, with the birth and death of one foal and the excitement occuring.

Her hunch about one of the foals had been correct - it wasn't moving, nor would it ever move. It seemed that Grace didn't have time to be sad at the moment about it - she still had her other foal to take care of, to nourish and feed and love just as she would have the other. The female wolf still stared at the dead foal, however, seeming to be slightly in shock due to the sudden birth and death.

"It wasn't given a chance to live," Skye said sorrowfully. "But Grace will love that foal now twice as much - I'm sure it will grow to be a fine steed," she said, looking at the little foal who was now suckling its mother's milk. She would help the female wolf bury the dead one if she wished, but later - right now the mother and child needed to rest and wouldn't be moved for a little while now.

WC: 344 OOC:

Eclipse nodded, she knew she would have to find the woman who the horse belonged to and return her. She would go to AniWaya and find out if she was there. If she was Eclipse would, sadly, give the horste to the woman. Eclipse silently wished the woman was too far for her to travel as Grace had saved her life and she had just helped bring new life for the horse

“I didn’t know the woman that owned her. Grace saved me a few weeks ago. Just outside of the pennisula. she has been following me ever since.”

The girl moved from the passed on foal to take a look at the little one that was covered still in birthing stuff. she couldn’t tell its colors but could see its fur was matted. She looked at Grace. The older horse was looking at her and the baby and nickered silently. Eclipse had her permission to look at the foal. Eclipse put her hand on the cold body, only because of the birthing stuff that was all over her, which was now starting to dry. She would have clean it and soon, but she wanted to know the gender, so taking a peek, to the foals unhappiness as she had to move a leg, she noted it was a boy. Smilin she watched the colt sucklling his mother.

“It is a boy and he looks to have really long legs... and is skinny but other than that he looks like his mom.”

She said silently then turned to the woman.... feeling nervous all over again. She had come from the d’arte borders..

“I am sorry, I have been rude with all this happening. But... I am Eclipse Soulstorm. I am sure you’re wondering why i’m so close to your borders.... well um... I was wondering if I could join?”

She didn’t know if the woman before her had any authority, nor if she would be allowed but it was too late to back out of the question now.

She smiled as the young female wolf told her that the foal was a boy - and it seemed like he would be a strong one. She smiled yet again as the girl told her her name - Eclipse, like the times when the sun is blocked out by the moon. It was true - she had wondered why the girl was so close to her borders, but with the surprising horse birth and the news of Liliana's death, Skye didn't have time to ask.

Now, however, she knew the answer - Eclipse had come to join. Skye was quite happy at this news, and with two new horses and a kind soul entering their ranks, she was sure that Eclipse would be a great asset to Cercatori d'Arte. "It's nice to meet you, Eclipse," she said jovially. "I am Skye Collins, the leader of Cercatori d'Arte. I would be more than happy to accept you into our ranks, Eclipse," she said. She was always eager to allow someone to seek their home in d'Arte - she was suspicious of many, however, and kept a close eye on them for their first few months. In some cases, however, such as this, their true colors showed - such as Eclipse's caring for her horse when she gave birth - and some shade of her suspicion was removed.

WC: 239 OOC: bwahahahaha

After she spoke she had held her breath. SHe didn’t know she was holding it until after the woman introduced herself as the alpha of this pack and she accepted Eclipses’ offer. The girl grinned and was close to hugging the woman but she kept her excitement contained.

“Thank you so much! I won’t let you down! I have been learning how to cook, and I’m a skilled hunter. I can use a bow and arrow pretty good. I will do everything I can to be a good addition to your pack!”

The girl said excitedly. She was so happy now, especially with the addition and the acceptance that it was almost too much to look at the foal that had not lived. Sighing she made herself look. It was still there, and still. There would never be life in it again.

“Perhaps you could help me? I do not think Grace will go anywhere. If we bury the baby close by we can still keep an eye on the two.”

She knew there were other predators that wandered the woods and it was not a good idea to leave the foal and his mother alone without a herd to protect them. She was sure once the deed of burying the baby was done, that foal would be ready to walk and they could move the two to a better place.
