Fayne had been camped out at the meadow since morning's light. Since the smell of her heat hit her like a truck. She still hadn't found a way to disguise it! She tried rolling around in flowers, licking herself clean, and taking a dip in the stream. Nothing was working. Once she got rid of it, it would just start to seep from her pores and soak her plush coat once again. The intense smell had altered her completely. She was left with a natural high. Even the simple scent of a flower filled her with bliss. She almost felt like she needed to return to the den just so she wasn't so lonely. She needed to share this feeling with someone. A long whine escaped her as she paced in the meadow contemplating what she was going to do about this. Should she return? No. Because it would be disrespectful to Zalen and Titania who was also radiating with the aroma. Surely this putrid aroma would draw his attention away from his own mate. That, or drive him into a rage. She knew how protective he was of Titania. Fayne's ears pinned to her head at the thought of what might happen. She couldn't go back until this was gone.

The silver she-wolf continued to pace giving restless yawns and whines as she thought. She didn't want to stay here overnight. The small female would be left vulnerable to the dangers of the world. All she wanted was to curl up in the den surrounded by her family. She released another yawn and a loud whine. The scent was accompanied by an undeniable energy that she couldn't ignore. The small female couldn't sit still, not for even one moment.

The pacing continued. She was stuck. She didn't have the courage to face what might happen if she returned to the den in this state. She was still puzzled about this whole thing and wished for an explanation. She dare not go near Titania frightful of her large black mate, not even to ask a simple question. Maybe if she relased some of this pent up energy she would be able to think clearly. Already knowing she couldn't catch a snack with only three legs, for fun, she chased after anything that moved in the meadow. She yelped happily as she ran around, her tail wagged fiercely behind her. When she was tired she lay down in the center of it all and rolled around some more. Instead of thinking about what to do next, she was thinking odd thoughts. Thoughts she never would have thought about if not for this cursed smell. Her mind, was on males. She gave another whine now hoping that someone would show up to entertain these feelings. She let her mind continue to wonder as she rolled around yipping happily at nothing.

With Titania in heat Tharin's need to run had increased. At least this time the one in heat had a mate that was making sure no one else did anything foolish. It made life a lot easier for the male, tail swishing behind him at the thought. He could get as worked up as he liked, and no trouble would be caused, because he'd just be put right back in his place. The energy that filled the pack from the young female going into heat filled his body, exciting him and making him feel rather childish, challenging others to games of chase, catching prey and teasing it before he snapped it off as a snack.

Tail waving high behind him Tharin trotted through the land. It was a good time. Every instinct in him told him that this was the time when all would be well. The pack was flush with prey, the alphess was in heat, and celebration was in the air. The normally somber wolf found himself feeling frisky, deciding to head over to the meadow for a good romp. Entering in Tharin promptly hit the ground, rolling through. Flowers flattened, with small animals scurrying to avoid being flattened by the good natured wolf. Yips reached him, perking his ears up. Standing up he shook his body free of stray petals and howled, calling her to him, tail swaying.

Every single scent, sound, or sight in this meadow was driving her wild. It was like she'd never seen flowers or birds, or never heard the sound of wind through the trees before. The dainty she-wolf found herself yelping back at birds when the chirped noisily in the trees as if she was having a conversation with them. She lay her head on the soft ground of the meadow and simply stared at the bright colored flowers all around with pure wonder in her eyes. She took in the scents one whiff at a time, breathing in the beautiful aromas. Whines made their escape from her throat in a constant flow. She flipped over to roll around some more before she heard a familiar howl. Tharin's howl. She yelped and stood up quickly, tail flailing uncontrollably behind her. Someone had finally come to share in this overwhelming joy and she couldn't help but feel ten times happier that the one who had come, was Tharin.

She pranced her way over to him through the tall grass of the meadow. Once her eyes fell on him she felt a sudden excitement. It was so strange and unavoidable, but lovely. She made her way to him and rubbed her face up against his a whine coming from her. Although she thought this feeling was strange, she didn't mind it and was letting it take over. Fayne's soft pink tongue came out to place several licks on his cheek, ears, and muzzle. She rubbed up against him some more before stepping back to look at him with emerald eyes that were pleading. "You came. I thought I was going to be here alone forever." Her voice was softer than it normally was and was filled with an unmistakable happiness. She leaned in to nuzzle him waiting for a reply. If only she knew why this scent was here and why it sent her on this exultant rampage.

He watched Fayne come closer, tail wagging. It'd be nice to share this with her, knowing how playful he was. His mood was bright and welcoming until her scent hit her. Oh no. She was in heat too? Perhaps if he'd paid more attention he would have noticed the scent coming off her the night before, but he'd been too distracted by Titania and Zalen to notice it. His body stiffened slightly as she approached, easy as she pleased. Tharin knew he had to be the one to control himself, that females struggled with the messages their bodies sent. He had to be strong.

Whines poured from her maw as she rubbed against him. The full scent struck his face, tail wagging unavoidably. Licks ran across his muzzle, cheeks, ears. Licks that the affectionate wolf so badly wanted to return. If he did though that careful layer of control he had built up would probably shatter. It was a thin veneer, barely existing. His legs trembled with the want to grab her, take her down and mount her, claiming her as his own. Of course, that wouldn't be fair. It would be his instincts guiding, and he knew that it was the worst possible time for them to come out. All males would be fighting for her attention if they gave in like that. He had to be strong.

Her words were so soft, pleading for him. Whining Tharin's tail wagged. Yes. I came. Not for her. He hadn't known she was staying in the meadows. Perhaps I should get someone else here to visit with you. His words were polite, silently signaling the problems this could cause, hoping she'd understand.

Fayne had failed to notice the tenseness in the large wolf's body thoroughly overwhelmed by the excitement of Tharin's arrival. His tail wagged behind him, he was happy to see her too and that was all she saw. Her own tail continued to spin like a rudder behind her. She waited for him to reach out and nuzzle her like he normally did, but he stayed put and simply stared at her with excitement in his eyes. She cocked her head confused as to why he wasn't responding to her playful touch. She leaned in to nuzzle his cheek as she waited for him to speak up and explain himself. He gave a deep whine and spoke to her with a kind tone. Her ears flicked back for a moment. Why would she want anyone else to come? He was here, what more could she ask for? She wanted so badly for a male to come and he had come, there was nothing else she could need. She had not the slightest clue that he was in agony because of her heat.

"Yeah, if you want more pack mates to come join us. Good idea!" She had a large grin on her face, ears perked happily forward. If more wolves wanted to come and play with them then that would be great. Fayne leaned in and nosed his muzzle giving a happy yelp and signalling her playful mood. She gave a play bow and pawed at him from her lowered position looking up at him with gleaming emerald eyes. Eventually she flipped over on her side and playfully nipped at his scruff tugging him downward while a growl rumbled her chest. She kicked him with her front paws as she tugged hoping he would join in this fun.

Another nuzzle ran along him, making speaking difficult. Why hadn't he realized what was up with her? Why was she doing this to him? Tharin wanted nothing more than to take her, but she wasn't his mate. Tharin's youth brought a whine from him, tail wagging. He was a stronger wolf, but still a young adult, pushing past the rebellious stage in his life that had set him to challenge the alpha and kindly be put down, made to submit. He wasn't the first to be so foolhardy, learning quickly from his mistake.

She wanted him to stay. Which wouldn't be a problem normally, as Tharin did want to stay, but she was smelling so good. He should take the logical route and leave. He watched her bow down, so low to the ground, so submissive. His tail was arched high, dominant in spirit. A quick flip came, and he was being tugged down towards her, closer to the sweet scent emitting. Whining softly he nuzzled back at her, tail swaying. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to play with her for just a little while.

Fayne continued to kick at her ashy companion while she waited for him to make a move. He simply stood there staring down at her for what seemed like forever. The dainty silver wolf was overjoyed when Tharin began to nuzzle at her giving happy yelps and whines. He whined too, finally joining in on the game. She spun around on the grassy ground like a break dancer as she kicked and kicked at him, pushing his head with her back legs to make it harder for him to nuzzle at her. Low growls emanated from her throat, challenging the strong male to get past the barrier she had made. Her head lunged forward and whenever she got the chance she nipped at his face, lips curling back in a playful snarl.

Playing wasn't the only thing she was thinking about. The whole time she lay there all she wanted was Tharin on top of her. He was so close she could almost feel the weight of his body pressing down on her. Her own body was warm with her heat and her breath was becoming heavier as she tried to push away the odd thoughts. Never before had she been tantalized like this. It was usually never a problem, her mind was always on other things. But now, it was all she could think about. In her mind, she was trying with all her might to will Tharin to do so. Do it... The words were on her tongue threatening to slip out. More whines poured from her jaws as she kicked at him. She had to get up! The feelings building up inside of her were so intense it felt as thought she was going to explode with desire. Then she stood up so that his head rested over her back, leaning down in a slight bow. She growled, licked, and nipped at his face tail wagging ferociously behind her waiting for him to make the next move.

you can, but i can guarantee he won't mate with her

His touch threw her into an absolute frenzy, kicking up and striking out at the wolf. Part of him was encouraged, feeling the playful air radiating off her. A larger part of him understood that he was acting the fool, moving to the whims of a female that didn't understand what she was doing. The growls immediately sent Tharin on the defensive. growling and pushing at her to make sure she knew that he was the dominant one, ending up partially standing over her, head thrust down to face her.

Fayne rolled over, letting his head rest over her back. She was still too dominant though. Growling Tharin pushed at her, standing more firm. Tail wagging he held himself high, demanding submission from the smaller wolf. Licks to his face helped calm him down, Tharin responding with a nuzzle along his frame. Taking in her scent he began to wander back, growing more eager. Only at the last minute did he jerk away, remembering that he wanted to keep his distance. Backing up he sat down again, whining softly.

Fayne tried her best to hold her ground as Tharin pushed with his solid form. He growled trying to gain submission from her. His ashy figure raised above her in dominace. She lowered her body some more letting him know he was indeed the dominant wolf here releasing a soft submissive whine. She wanted nothing more than him to take control of the situation and do what the scent was driving them to do. She pushed up against him so he didn't knock her down for as long as she could. She continued to growl and nip at his face playfully. Her body was telling her to simply turn around so Tharin would be able to mount her. It was all she wanted and all she was thinking about. The games they were playing, although fun, weren't satisfying her unintentional selfish desires. His broad muzzle wondered over her as she pushed her body up against him taking in his scent as well. He was driving her to insanity. Each movement he made increased the suspense. Why wouldn't he just make the move?

Soft yearning whines continued to flood from her jaws. It was getting to the point where she was simply going to turn around and beg him to mount her. Her small figure began to slide along him readying to make her move. Blue-green orbs gazed at Tharin full of hunger, nearly yelling at him to make a move. She could see the lust in his eyes as well, saying that he wanted it as bad as she did. Just before she got into position he moved away in one movement leaving her with nothing to prop up against. She had been so caught up in the moment that she'd forgotten about the remaining weakness in her left shoulder. She nearly toppled over but caught her balance at the last second. A frustrated whine escaped her. The suspense had built up and was then ripped away in one moment. Fayne stood with her head lowered, tail low, and ears back in submission. Why had he pulled away? She sat herself down and looked over at him with the same pleading eyes as he whined. What was so wrong that he had to stop? "What is it Tharin?" She spoke in a shy voice as if she'd done something wrong...maybe it was her fault he had stopped.

The submission was reassuring, lending strength to Tharin's actions. He wasn't sure how he could hold back if she'd fought him, needing to put her in her place, even with the knowledge that it was the scent causing her boldness. Fayne tumbled a little at his movement back, almost causing Tharin to jolt up and make sure she was alright. He managed to remain sitting, Fayne recovering on her own. Relieved he watched her take her own seat, deep pleading eyes on him.

The guilt in her voice drove him to near madness, tail wagging behind him. Fayne...we're not mates. Your scent...it's driving me crazy. I can't though. I just can't. Apologetically he dipped his head down, tail coming to a stand still. He just hoped she'd understand. It wasn't the way things were meant to be. If he was someone less sensitive to the needs of the pack he would have jumped her easily, but the pack did weigh on his mind, and he was aware of the problems it could cause.

This was confusing Fayne. Why was it that he was hesitating. It was obvious that he was excited to be here, obvious that he wanted to come close. His tail was even wagging behind him for some odd reason. She knew it was this scent that was making him act strange, but she couldn't distinguish which acts were the strange ones. Before Tharin had pulled away everything felt like it was happening as it should, going the way it was supposed to. Even as she sit here now, she wanted so badly to go up to him and start this all over again like it was the right thing to do. He was irresistible to her. Her body quivered with anticipation, tail saying behind her unintentionally. For a moment her eyes brightened thinking he may have changed his mind then his tail came to a stop as he started to speak. She already knew her scent was causing this, but she couldn't understand why he wanted to stop. Why did it matter if they were mates? Her head tilted with confusion, brow furrowing as she tried to comprehend.

Tharin lowered his head from it's high and dominant position. "Why does it matter if we're mates? You want to, I know you do. Then why don't you..." She was so undeniably naive. What was so important to him that he couldn't let this happen, especially if both of them wanted to? "This scent is a good thing. I want to listen to it." Her eyes brightened again as she took a few steps forward. She couldn't stand to sit there with Tharin so close, she needed him. With caution, she walked up to him, nuzzling him gently. Her eyes closed as she took in his presence, he was driving her wild by just standing there. Was there nothing she could do to have him? Fayne was never one to accept no for an answer and her heat only made things worse. All she saw, was him and her. There was no other scenario.

Her whole body was quivering, a treat for Tharin to look at. She was so desirable, driving the poor male right out of his mind with want. The confusion on her face confused Tharin. Didn't she know what she was doing? Why this was a bad idea? He'd explained it as best as he could. The questions sent a quiver of laughter through his body. Yes, he did want to. It did matter whether or not they were mates though, even if Fayne didn't think so.

Shaking his head he spoke up. If it's a good thing, why did you isolate yourself here? Part of Fayne was aware of what was going on. He just had to convince her to pay attention to it, instead of tempting him into doing something they'd regret. His body stiffened as she came close, nuzzling and rubbing along his body. He could feel himself react to her, aroused by the scent. Fayne...being in heat means you're ready for puppies. His voice was thick, struggling to not react.

Fayne froze at Tharin's question. She had come here because she knew it made male's act strange. She knew that may be disrespectful to Zalen and Titania who was also radiating with the smell. She had been given more than a hunch about the properties of this smell. When she was a rogue, it had brought nothing but danger. But here, all it was bringing was joy. An unimaginable bliss that was so strong, undeniable, and lovely. It also brought desires which she had previously kept tucked away and they were intensified. But, that wasn't an issue to her. She wanted to give in to the scent and let it drive it. The smell was bliss, what wrong could come from listening to it? That was all she was aware of on her end. She was becoming more confused by the moment. After a couple moments of thought, she spoke. Her voice told of the confusion and surprise his question arose. "I...I chose to stay here because this scent causes strange things to happen. I wasn't sure what it would bring. So, I stayed here out of respect for our Alphas and our pack. But, it hasn't brought anything harmful to us..so I feel no need to deny it."

Fayne sensed the tenseness her touch brought to Tharin. She froze again, starting to sense that something was indeed wrong about what she was doing. It wasn't wrong to her, but to him. Tharin spoke again bringing surprise into her eyes. She drew her head back to look at him, puzzled. Was that the reason the scent was here? So that she could bear puppies? That was really all there was too it. A bright smile shone on her face after several moments of comprehension. Her tail picked up behind her, she was happy. Now, she could be a mother. What was so wrong about that? Then, she looked at Tharin. His eyes were full of worry and want. She was still smiling, happiness in her eyes. But, Tharin wasn't happy about this, not like her. He didn't want this, which saddened the she-wolf. There was something more complex behind the brilliant feelings the scent brought. "That's not a bad thing, I can be a mother. But, you aren't ready for that are you. Why not?" Everything felt right, so what was so wrong? Everything she'd always wanted was right in front of her, but Tharin was stopping it from happening. Her head lowered as she gazed up at him.

Tharin listened to her question, relief clear from her answer. So she was aware, at least in part. Heat did cause things to happen. Not necessarily strange, but everyone did tend to act a lot more bold than they would have been, the scent upping the need to breed and bring pups forth. Even better, she was aware that it could affect the pack's balance, the very reason for his restraint. His tail wagged softly, nuzzling along her body, licking at her scruff before remembering himself and pulling back again.

Her tail wagged brightly behind her, far too joyous in her actions. She was pleased about this fact? Not concerned that she was doing things that would result in pups without having a mate? Her question promptly confused him, struggling to think through the thick perfumed scent. I can't be a mother! He was male, for one thing. Nuzzling at her Tharin realized that hadn't been what she'd been asking. I don't have a mate. There was more to it than that, but that was the main reason.

OOC: Think she might be developing her first crush. Well, first adult crush. :3 / +447

When Tharin came close, Fayne breathed him in hoping he would do more. Intead, to her dismay, he pulled back. Her ears flicked back when he did so, she wished for him to continue. It took a few moments for Tharin to answer. When he did it brought a giggle from the silver she-wolf. Did he really think that's what she meant by it! "Of course you can't!" She nuzzled his face and gave him a small lick on the cheek refraining from contining to lick him along his neck and muzzle. "But, you can be a father." The silver female swooned at the thought of Tharin fathering her pups. He was handsome, strong, skilled, and kind. He would be the perfect mate. It was clear in her eyes what she was thinking by the way she was looking at him. Like he was hers. She couldn't resist to lean in and headbutt his face gently giving a long whispery breath. It hadn't occurred to her that she was capable of thinking this way about him, but she like the thought. Her tail continued to sway, sadness being lifted by his unintentional joke.

He nuzzled her back. She brought her face to nuzzle him at the same time. Even though this was a pretty serious talk they were having she couldn't help but feel the undeniable bliss her heat was causing. It rose one troublesome thought. Would she feel this way when it was gone. It brought some sadness back into her eyes, she loved the way she felt. So, Tharin couldn't have pups with her because she wasn't his mate. It was starting to make sense. She hadn't really put any thought into mates before this except the thought that she wanted one. "I understand. It wouldn't be right to have pups with someone who you aren't mated to." Thoughts were swimming in her head. Maybe they could be mates. But maybe that was just her heat talking. She wasn't sure, but she wanted the male wolf that stood before her in more ways that one. She continued to make goo-goo eyes at him thinking of the life they could have. She lowered her head shyly, tail swaying gently. "Do you want a mate Tharin?" By mate, she meant herself. Maybe that was too bold of a question. It had just slipped out. She winced after she spoke the words. Damn heat made her bolder than she ever was without it. Now, curious eyes looked over at him as she wondered what his answer would be. At the same time she was nervous.

tharin's not a romantic, and i has plots with kiara. even if it looks like neither will make a move because they dont have a romantic bone between them X|

Fayne giggled at his words, Tharin's ears flattening a little. It had been a little nonsensical. One couldn't really blame him though, as distracting as her presence was. All he wanted to do was nuzzle her, play with her, push her down and mount her. Of course, those were all very bad ideas, as all would lead to the last one, and they weren't mates. He held on desperately to that thought, fearful of letting go. Told that he could be a father Tharin straightened up, tail wagging at the thought as she nuzzled along him. That wouldn't be a bad thing. His own pups running around, taught to obey the pack and following in his steps. His mind flashed to Kiara and Lucia, the tiny pup calling him dad. Would it be the same with his own?

As soon as she said she understood Tharin relaxed. He wouldn't have to worry anymore. As song as she understood why it was a bad idea she wouldn't keep pushing at him, making things so much easier. At least with Adonia she hadn't been trying to make him mount her. Working together they'd managed to avoid doing anything regrettable. Asked if he wanted a mate Tharin growled, a lust filled sound. Yes, he wanted a mate. He wanted Fayne, to be more specific. Right then and there. That was a bad idea though, driving him crazy. Yes...

OOC: Haha, okay. :3 / +000

Now that she understood why she was feeling the way she was, that atmosphere seemed to shift. She still felt like moving closer to Tharin, licking him, nuzzling him, and doing what her body was telling her to do. But, now she felt like it was wrong. This whole time he'd been trying so hard to keep away and she'd only made it difficult for him by listening to the scent. She was beginning to feel silly for the way she acted which only increased her nervousness. Her head lowered even more as she waited, plush tail coming to a halt. The growl he let loose was an extremely attractive sound which brightened her demeanor. Head came up slightly and ears perked. It was a deep, expressive, and lustful sound. She couldn't help but let her tail swish slightly, it was unavoidable. A whine spilled from her lips as he spoke. Even if he wasn't talking about her specifically, she still felt content knowing his answer. "Me too." She gave a slight smile.

Now what? Were they to stand here with this awkward air between them. It was horrible. She felt like a complete fool. Too naive to even realize what her own body was telling her. She didn't even want to think of what Tharin must think of her. She lowered her head again another restless whine escaped her maw. Her legs were almost quivering underneath her, wanting nothing more than to carry her forward to pursue the handsome wolf before her. "I'm sorry Tharin. If I had known, I wouldn't have pushed you so hard. I'm an idiot." She kept herself planted there unsure of how to act now. She just wanted to run as far as she could and deplete her energy, then fall into a sleep and forget about today and what a fool she'd been.

She smiled at the sound, whining and pressing forwards. Tharin shouldn't have made that noise, but it was so hard to resist, so hard to act good. The part of him that had been helping him behave so well was growing quieter, another part of him starting to whisper that just once wouldn't be such a bad thing. That he wouldn't hurt her, that they'd both enjoy it. Even if it was true though, he knew it was wrong, his muscles stiff from standing still.

Quivering was running through her body. At her words Tharin wondered what it would be like to have her as his mate. Would they be born as two leggers, like her? Or natural wolves, like himself? He certainly loved her sweet spirit, and they both wanted mates. They were both here as well. His thoughts turned away, thinking of Kiara and Lucia, how they relied on him to care for them. He couldn't keep that up if he lost his head here. He had to stay strong.

His voice was gruff as he spoke. It's alright. Just...be more careful. Not everyone will be as rigid about staying away. He didn't want to be rigid about staying away. At least if he told her that she would be more aware, careful to not accidentally light a fire in another male, leading to regret. He wanted to protect her from that mistake at least. Taking a deep breath he looked to the stream. Washing it off would probably be a good idea. Walking over he laid down in it, letting his thick coat get soaked. Much better. It helped him cool his head as well.

OOC: Oooh, awkward turtle. / +000

The silver fae nodded in agreement. She would definitely have to be more careful about who she flaunted her heat scent around. The horrid stench had malicious powers on both her and any male she came in contact with and before today she was unaware of it's other properties. But now that she'd learned the hard way she'd be able to stop herself next time. But, what if she didn't want to? She hadn't wanted to today. She had wanted nothing more than to let it take over and fulfill the desires that burned so intensely within her. She sighed wanting not to think about it anymore. What was done, was done and now they were both past it. Fayne watched as the ashy wolf made his way to the meadow's stream wading into it. Curious, she padded over to where he was. When she had taken a dip the day before, it hadn't rid her of the scent but it had definitely weakened. Her tail swayed accepting his idea as a good one.

She pranced into the stream playfully splashing around like a child a bit farther from where Tharin had chosen. The cool water rushed around her slender frame taking with it the scent that plagued her. The water stung at her scar a bit, the skin still sensitive and healing but it wasn't that bad. A deep breath marked her temporary relief from the heat. She continued to wade around dipping her head and snapping at her own splashes distracting herself from the thoughts that were so hard to ignore. Eyes turned to Tharin a bright smile on her face only to turn away. It was just weird now sitting in the stream with him. She gave an awkward chuckle. "This is helping, right?" Although she didn't really want to be helped, Tharin did. Of course the scent would just return to her when her coat began to dry. Hopefully her heat would leave her in a day or two's time so she could return to the den at nightfall. The meadow was lovely, but it got lonely out here without anyone to keep you company. Eyes gazed at the male for a few moments before turning away. She still couldn't keep her mind off of him, even in this awkward state she had created.

With a splash Fayne entered into the water. Tharin's head jerked back, looking over to her with a wide grin. He was feeling better, more in control now. That was the important thing. He didn't want to have her feel bad over something neither was fully in control of. Perhaps they could play together, as long as they both remained damp and he didn't get a faceful of the scent. That would be far too hard to resist.

He moved towards her as she snapped playfully at the splashes, making his own to join in the fun. His tail wagged at her smile, ears flattening a little as she looked away. Guess she felt awkward with him now that he'd said all those things. Would she still want him around after? Yes. He didn't nuzzle her, body growing still again. They weren't playing the way they usually did, the scent a constant reminder of what they couldn't do. He met her gaze before she looked away again. This couldn't keep up. He thought for a moment before backing up. Rearing high he let out a huge splash to wash against her.
