Secui form had not always been Sidra's favorite, but it had fulfilled various useful purposes. One of which, was hunting. Though she'd rather spend her time finding and inventing new ways to take down her prey, in Secui form she could easily and swiftly take down a full grown doe with nothing but claws and teeth. That, she was truly proud of. Regular wolves needed to hunt in packs to accomplish such a goal. Luperci were on a whole other level. Able to use weapons in Optime form, and hunt with ease in Secui form. Sidra prided herself in being a Luperci.

The ember and gold behemoth of a wolf padded surprisingly softly through the forest. Bright eyes peered through the trees in search of large meal. Today, for fun, she wanted to prove to herself and any others that may witness the killing, that she was a force to be reckon with. Well toned muscles rippled underneath her silky black fur. Each movement caused a visible shift of her muscles. Large ears were positioned forward, scanning the horizon for what she was looking for, a doe. Her tail was held high and dominantly behind her while her nose wriggled as she sniffed her prey out. Once she caught the scent, she glided through the forest with unrivaled speed. Even in Optime form her figure was lean and swift.

It took about an hour total to track down the scent. The doe wasn't alone though. A buck was accompanying her keeping his head high in a protective stance while the slender creature grazed. It looked like she was pregnant. Her belly was bulging with one or two unborn fauns inside. The male was protecting his family. She would have to be very careful not to get into a battle with both of them at once or she'd surely end up maimed. Those large antlers that adorned the male's head were for more than show. The sleek black female weaved through the trees keeping her body low until she go close enough. She had to wait for the perfect moment to attack. The buck couldn't see her coming, or it'd be futile. To her dismay, the doe followed close behind him only stopping when he did. She needed a distraction.

It was then that she noticed a rabbit nearby, completely unaware of her presence. Perfect. Silently, she snuck around to the other side of where the rabbit stood. Once positioned, she gave a low rumble of a growl that would only be audible to the rabbit who was no more than three feet away. It frightened the poor creature and it was sent running in the direction she had come from. This caused both of the deer to tense up for a moment and then relax again. The doe grazed while the buck walked up ahead seeing that there was no danger. Now was her chance. With amazing agility Sidra approached the doe and launched herself onto it's back. Her large claws punctured it's sides upon impact bringing a loud shriek from the creature. The buck turned to look stunned by what was happening, he watched as his mate was torn to bits by the large black and gold hybrid. Sidra kept herself on top of the doe as she attempted to get out from under her. It wasn't doing any good, she flailed her head and tried to kick but couldn't get her feet out from under her with the heavy wolf on her back. Growls and snarls rippled the ruthless huntress's jaws as she tore at the deer's bulging sides. Blood began to flow dripping to the forest floor like a red waterfall. The doe had large tears on either side of her leaving her scratched ribs visible.

The buck finally decided to do something about it. He charged at he with antlers ready to pierce her side thinking she wouldn't move. Sidra jumped off of the injured doe and swatted at him with a massive paw. Her claws dug a deep slash into his neck and blood began to pour from him too. His energy was immediately diminished by the sudden loss of blood. He was gulping for air unable to breath because of the hole she had torn in his windpipe. Sidra no longer had to worry about him, he was dead. The doe was alive, but barely. She had to finish the job. With one fell swoop she jumped at the frightened creature, grabbed hold of her, and bit into her neck with powerful jaws. A few moments later, she dropped lifelessly to the ground alongside her mate. Blood and intestines littered the forest floor. Sidra sat there and stared at the both of them with a large grin on her lips. She had not only taken down one deer, but two and her fauns. This was a testimony of her strength. The young female radiated with pride as she sat there determining what to do with them. To reward her victory she began to rip at the doe's tender flesh with blood stained jaws. She snarled viciously as she ate keeping her eyes on the surrounding forest in case someone showed.

She hadn't gone far. Dalgina was looking for a quiet place to work on a carving she had started. Tail wagging she looked happily at the new bangles she had found. It was in an old corner in the pack, a place where no other canine smells had passed. A beautiful large golden necklace with a giant red gem laid around her neck, as well as her pendant and the one from Aylu. Adding to the glitter was an array of mismatched bracelets. Green, and blue, and silver and gold all laid up one arm, clinking against one another. Tehu rested on her shoulder, wings occasionally fluttering out, wanting to try to fly. She had brought a small bit of meat for that very purpose.

A racket broke out nearby, startling the young kestrel. Wings fluttering he took off, hovering through the air before landing in a low bush. Dalgina rushed over, picking him up. She tried to calm him with low speech, but the words were broken, unable to communicate when her body so clearly screamed alarm as well. Cautiously Dalgina continued, only to find a horrific sight. Blood splayed across the ground. Two deer dead. That wasn't a problem, as Dalgina was a huntress, but only one wolf stood there. This was pointless killing, purely for the blood. Blood covered the wolf in the center, and her mind whirled. It was a blood monster! Dalgina hadn't thought of them for a while, but the fear from her youth returned, remembering Mahn returning injured, the sorrow and anger of the pack before they had to leave.

Dalgina had never fully understood the leaving, her mind now connecting it with the injury and the despair she remembered being there. Trembling the young female backed up. Finding himself as the calmer one Tehu puffed up, calling out a challenge to the feeding wolf. He wasn't afraid now that he saw the source, but Dalgina was, and he would protect his dear friend.

The doe was filling Sidra's gut fast. It wasn't often that she ate in the open like a true wolf but when she did she felt so powerful. Upon consumption of the pregnant doe she discovered that she was to bare one faun who was fully developed and would have probably been born a day or two from now. Unfortunate, but the small body would be consumed eventually, probably turned into smoked white tail for Kativa and Sidra to consume on their travels. Amethyst eyes glanced over at the male who was laying there in a pile of his own blood. He had died a quick and unnecessary death. If only he had decided to run instead of charge at Sidra. He would have escaped with his life and given the chance to prosper. Sidra sighed as she took the last few bits her stomach could bare.

It wasn't until she sat back and started to clean the blood from her dark pelt that she noticed she had a spectator. The sound of chirping filled her ears. Her eyes fell upon a familiar wolf. The young pitch black female she'd spent a night by the fire with. The young girl's eyes were filled with terror for what she'd just witnessed. Strange. Surely she knew what wolves were capable of. The ember female had a companion. A small fledgling who seemed to be full of angst. He was fluttering around and puffing his feathers as though he was challenging Sidra. Probably only trying to protect his girl. Sidra ignored the girl for a moment as she continued to clean the blood from her maw, legs, and paws. Although the blood covered pretty much her whole body. She would have to take a dip in a stream to get rid of it all. Once she had cleaned some of it she turned to face the frightened child. "What is that look for? Haven't you seen a wolf hunt before?"

Sidra turned to look over her killings proud of what she had accomplished. Kativa would be glad she wouldn't have to hunt for a while, they had enough meet here to last a week or two. The remainders of the doe, the buck, and the faun would all be cut up and either smoked or consumed later. Nothing here would go to waste. The buck's horns could be fashioned into a variety of items or sold to a trader. Sidra eyed the girl, hoping she would calm down. She wasn't sure what was driving the ember wolf to be so frightened. "I think I remember you." Although her name didn't come to mind immediately.

The voice drew Dalgina out a little. Snapped from her shock eyes darted around, trying to make sense of it. A monster from her childhood had appeared. A monster that she had almost stopped believing in, dripping with moist blood. The deer smelled good, but it was fear that ran through her veins. Tehu reiterated, stating that Dalgina hunted just fine and that he was a good hunter too, just to keep things clear.

The bird's lie drew her further out, managing a small smile. Are you really a wolf? Not a blood monster? She looked over hesitantly, hoping that it was true. Dalgina didn't want to meet one of those filthy creatures. Even with the harsh way of speaking, it didn't seem angry. More like Mahn when she was in a rush, or catching Taru off guard. Daring another look at the blood covered creature she peered, wondering if it was familiar. Blood coated the scent though, and she couldn't make out familiar features under the more terrifying layer.

Sidra gave a small sigh. She could see the young girl relaxed after Sidra's words. Why was she so afraid in the first place? Was it all the blood? No that wasn't it. What wolf would ever have a fear of blood? There was no such thing as a vegetarian wolf, meat was a stable in every wolf's diet and unless she refrained from hunting herself it was necessary to survive. The obsidian girl was young which led to a variety of conclusions for her fear. She thought to herself as she continued to lick at her legs. The blood had seeped down to her skin, previously warm but now cooling down do to the gentle breeze that blew through here.

Amethyst eyes glanced from the girl to the two deer as she waited for a response. A small voice finally broke the silence. Sidra's ears flicked back in confusion. Blood monster? What was a blood monster? Whatever she was referring to, Sidra wasn't one. The bloodied wolf shook her head with a slight smile on her lips. She almost wanted to laugh, but withheld the laughter. Sidra shuffled on her feet so that she was facing the girl. "Blood monster? I'm not a monster." She eyed her causing some unnecessary suspense. She could see the hesitation in the girl's expression and it was slightly amusing. Then she answered her first question. "I'm a hybrid. Not really a wolf, but I'm not a monster either. No need to be frightened," She smiled over at the child who looked so familiar.

Sidra looked down at the lifeless faun then over at the girl. "Are you hungry? This doe was pregnant and the faun is good to eat. You're welcome to it if you want. I have no need for all three of them." As she waited Sidra tried to remember where she'd met the girl. Then is sparked. That one night where Kativa had spend out late. This young wolf had come to keep her company. She remembered that even then the young wolf was frightened. Then it was because Sidra had been hasty in her introduction and had been wary of the girl. Though, after names were given the spent time talking by the fire. The name was still floating around in her head somewhere. She lowered her head in thought. It stared with a D....she knew it. Daaa....Deee....Diiii.... She nearly yelled the last part excited that it had come to her. Daligina!!! That's your name, I remembered it. We spend some time sitting by the camp fire. Do you remember?" Sidra had a wide grin on her face remember how adorable Dalgina had been that night.

As soon as she was told the stranger wasn't a blood monster Dalgina relaxed the rest of the way. With the fear clear she could see how foolish she'd truly acted. It was just a normal kill. Larger than ones she was used to, but perhaps the female was expecting others to come and join in. The mess was surprising as well, but she'd just have to get over it. Just because she was coated in blood didn't make her the killers in her sleep.

Invited to join in Dalgina hesitantly worked her way over. Now that she thought about it, there was something vaguely familiar about the voice. She sniffed the air, but only the blood and scent of the prey before them filtered through, disguising most of the smells. The mixed blood came through now that she was closer, but she couldn't confirm how familiar the wolf was. Tehu chirped angrily from Dalgina's shoulder, asking why they were getting closer.

Dalgina reached up one hand to Tehu, ruffling his feathers softly. A beak pecked at them sharply, a little grumpy. Withdrawing her hand Dalgina scooped Tehu up, depositing him on the faun. Strutting along he looked at the offered meat warily. Finally he picked up a single piece, swallowing it down. More time passed before he declared it good, and tore through. Giggling at the antics Dalgina knelt down as well, grabbing the young meat. It really was good.

Her mouth was full, blood running down her arms from her graceless way of eating in optime. At the sound of her name-or at least, what sounded like it-being yelled out, Dalgina flinched. Loud! Cocking her head Dalgina examined the hybrid again. If one wiped away the blood, added a gold streak of fur...Yes! You're Sidra, right? You scared me.
