They slept, and she was pacing outside the den site, intent on leaving the pups to sleep. She wanted, and needed, to find Gabriel more than anything else, to tell him he was an uncle, to tell him that she was back, to do all those things that a good sister would do. She wanted to apologize for leaving him, she wanted to curl her arms around his waist and look up into that endless span that was his gaze. He was the shining sibling, the one who came second to none. He was her favorite male in the world, aside from her beloved mate, and the only member of Inferni whose opinion meant shit to her.

Sighing, the young coy watch her feet as they made their repeated pattern. She didn't fight her body, she was too restless to lay with her pups. They had curled up and slept fine, but this first night home she was far too anxious to just relax. She had tasks, things she needed to do. People she needed to see. With a small sigh she stopped moving, letting her head lift and the song pour out of her. "Gabriel...." Whispered her husky voice, the song ebbing into the darkness of the night around her.

indent The scent had been overwhelming and he had followed it the moment he had returned to the clan’s border line. Of all he could have hoped for, and for what Dahlia had said, he had not expected her this soon. Unfamiliar and mingled scents told him she was not alone either, though Stygian’s potent musk was not there—Anselm’s was, which indicated he had taken care of his sister. Pleased by this, he was moving towards the source when her voice called out over the darkness. With a half-step pushing him into a trot, the doggish male soon spotted her at the mouth of a cave and advanced without hesitation, tail wagging behind him and a wide grin on his face.

As soon as she heard the sounds of his approach and her eyes caught sight of him, she launched herself in his direction, forgetting for the moment the slumbering pile of fuzz behind her, forgetting for a moment that she was lonely without Stygian, that she felt isolated in this new land, that things were not as perfect as she had expected them to be. All she could think in that moment was that there was her brother, grinning, happy to see her, and the worry he would be angry melted away. She expected him to be hurt over her leave, but she had an irrational fear that he would hold a grudge against her. That was not how he worked, and she knew better. She skidded into him, tail wagging rapidly as she made the desperate attempt to not seem like a waif at his side. He towered over her, and had always, but it didn't matter for the moment because all she wanted was the only hug she could offer him in this form. A happy sigh escaped her maw and she closed her eyes, breathing in the deep scent of him, this primal fount was so much more real than the wisps of his scent that made up their borders. "I missed you...." She said weakly, for a brief second angry with herself that it was best she could come up with to start with.

indent She had grown up, in small ways, and Gabriel saw this in her face. She looked like their mother, and this alone caused a quiet terror to hound itself in the back of his mind. Of all of those three devil spawn, Andre had been the one to prove his madness outright. He had not seen what his sister was capable of. He did not doubt that one day she would rise above his mother, just as he had done. One day, they would come like a hurricane, a tornado, a whirlwind. They would set the world on fire; but for now, he was content just to be her big brother and paw excitedly at her, laughing. “I missed you too,” he said, beaming. “But you’re back now.” For just a moment, his eyes sharpened, turned dangerous—almost as if subconsciously, he was going to insist this be forever..

She saw far into the future, she saw when time would change and a new empire would rise from the ashes of all they had destroyed. Their generation of Lykoi were different in vast was from their Mother's, while she saw it fit to destroy all the wolves, Ahemait knew that some could be useful. Gabriel knew that too, as much of his blood fit the wolf description he had the assets to rule both worlds, and the knowledge to do so well. Ahemait had never argued his taking the throne, it was logical, and it was right. She fully supported him, and she continued to. "We intend to stay!" She replied quickly, smiling up at him. "A lot's happened since I left...." She trailed this off, knowing it applied to both her situation and his. She did not know that he had also become a parent, or that his mate and children had gone off. It was strange to consider them 'grown up', but there was nothing innocent or childlike about the world they know lived in. For a brief instant her eyes trailed over to the den her small family was occupying and she smiled, returning her gaze to him. "Did Dahlia tell you?"

indent They needed wolves in order to survive, and even the wolves saw their power. His own father had come to Inferni not once, but twice; and both times he had offered his aid, though now perhaps it was worth more. Still, the half-mad beast had not been spotted in a few weeks, though Gabriel doubted his father would go far. Not while they were bound as they stood. “She did,” he said, and then moved over to peer into the den. Three children, sound asleep. The same number as her litter. Gabriel frowned for a split second, but it was gone so fast it barely showed. “You’re an aunt too, you know.”
