It was growing darker, the temperature dropping as the sun did behind the horizon created by the still waves of a dark and murky sea. The smell of salt was something the pale golden male was used to, and he'd grown to be calmed by the aroma. The scent, the sounds, the feel of the shore and sea in general had become an escape for the jackal hybrid.

He sat there now, looking out to the vast waters as he allowed himself time alone to think, an almost obsessive habit of his. Eyes closed and body relaxed, Percival Teach ran through the events leading to this very moment, from the time he awoke from his bed, to humming a tune alongside his dear friend, Tobias.

Tunes that then reminded him of other days, other events. Those events leading to other periods of time farther into the hybrid's past, until he was taken back to that one heartbreaking accident...

Percival, help me!

No matter how he tried, he just couldn't reach her. He called out her name. He screamed out, pleading, hoping, praying to a deity who's existed he doubted... But if anything could help her, he would give anything, including faith.

She disappeared for a while... Everything seemed still...

Percival opened his eyes, filmed over with a layer of forming tears as his heart raced. Those memories reopened his wounds whenever they swept through his mind, but the jackal hybrid would have it no other way; those memories were all he had left to hold on to.

Her voice...

He wanted to remember absolutely everything. Though it hurt, he felt that he deserved to relive every painful moment of his sister's death. It kept him going, gave him the motivation he needed to find redemption. If it never came, he didn't care. As long as he never forgot that day for as long as he lived.

...I still hear it.

A heavy sigh escaped him, and he stared out to the sea.

She had gotten some sleep at last, something that wasn't tormented by the images of a certain pregnant woman and her shiny new lover. She slid away from the fire she shared with Fritz, moving away from the burning warmth as the ocean called to the slender girl. Scarred legs clothed in a simple pair of jeans pushed her closer towards the water, watching the waves caress the shore in a quiet contained manner. It calmed her. Helped her forget, even when the vessel from the past had turned to be the gypsy's greatest nightmare. Maroon eyes watched silently, wordlessly as the sun capsized behind the horizon, a mere sliver of light fortelling the coming of dark. A sigh heaved from her chest, arms crossed over her chest as her shirt fluttered softly in the breeze. Things had gotten better. Her hand was healing, and so was her heart. Hadley had done some dumb shit before. But was that her problem? No. The problem was in Ismeme's hands now. If she got left for a night under the sheets with another, it wasn't Selene's problem anymore. Never would it be again. Sel wouldn't be hurt. And that, was a huge relief.

After her moment of watching the clear, calm water, the hybrid moved back towards the camp. Her feet were steady, her head in the right place. It was going to be dark soon. As she walked slowly through the gravelly sand, Sel spotted another form. It was the jackal-hybrid, Tobias's good friend. She approached calmly, a slight smile on her lips. It didn't hurt to be friendly to any of the crew. "Percival?" Came the clear accented voice, walking over. Looking down, the coydog could see that not everything was jim-dandy for her peer. "Everything alright?" She sat herself next to him, not in any way demeaning or pushy. Her lightly bandaged hand moved closer to her core. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

Sorry for such a late reply. Going through some really hectic emotional crap.

The jackal hybrid, thanks to his large ears and constant sense of not really paranoia, but probability, heard the arrival of the other before words were spoken, leaving out the element of surprise.

He was, however, slightly shocked by the individual, the golden one half expecting Tobias to have met with him, or perhaps a more social crew member, but it was the coydog, a seemingly gentle and quiet woman.

At least, that's what Percival had assumed of her, based on his short time of observing the crew.

He cleared his throat nonetheless, finding her company less intruding then others in the past.

Aye, miss, e'erythin' be jus' fine... He murmured, but even he could tell she was aware of the statement being less than true.

When she spoke of the view, Percival was ecstatic to be so quickly removed from the topic of his well-being. His emotions and past were subjects he'd only felt comfortable explaining to the captain, so the change, unintentional or not, was appreciated.

His grey eyes stare straight ahead still as he spoke in his monotonous, soft voice, Aye, quite lovely... Ah ne'er really grow tired o' this view...

Percival breathed in heavily, both to relax, his heart rate speeding up as he was incredibly uncomfortable around other beings, but he took in the scent of the sea as well, the salty stench having a calming factor to the hybrid.

He exhaled quickly, giving a heavy sigh.
