As the days of May began to trickle away, so did Clover’s mobility. Her stomach had stretched away from her petite frame, leaving a rounded mound protruding from beneath her breasts and circling down to her hips. Though this added girth was not something that Clover was used to, the young Lykoi woman felt absolutely beautiful in her pregnant body. Inside she knew that life as growing – how many lives, she had no way of knowing just yet. Already she had spent several hours of her days imaging what life would be like after the birth, what her children were going to look like, what their personalities would develop into, how she would take on the role of being a mother, amongst other things. She had never gone through any of this before, but Clover’s body was telling the young mother that any time it would be ready to bring those puppies into the world.

It had done nothing but rain for the past few days, but Clover was quite alright with that. She hadn’t left the Ruins ever since the clouds had rolled in, and much of her time was spent preparing for the task ahead of her. Her chores had been delegated to the slaves, most notably the woman Wander who was the King’s personal. She watched as the fellow pregnant woman went about her chores, curious when she too would have her own children.

That day she had remain curled in the skins that had been assembled as her nesting area. She was tucked away in Sirius’ chambers, where the slaves could be sure to tend to her every need if she wanted it that way. So far, Clover had insisted on doing everything on her own, though she had permitted one of the slaves to fetch her a meal the previous evening. With the dreary weather persisting outside, Clover napped within. It wasn’t until she felt a sudden movement, a sort of tremor, ripple through her frame that her pale yellow eyes snapped open. A gasp escaping past parted teeth, Clover clutched at her large belly with both hands. It seemed as if it were time!

OEOEOEOEOE! (3+)

After Clover had delivered the news that she was bearing his children, the life of Sirius Revlis had become very complex. Harsh lines of black and white suddenly melted into many hues of grey, many shades of indecision and worry and emotion that he had not perceived possible to feel. He had ordered the woman to relocate permanently to his chambers - Not that the order was required, as Clover hardly resisted. Many of the luxurious pelts and furs that had made up his bed were now huddled in a pile on the floor, where the pregnant woman had arranged them into a snug little nest to best support her increasingly rotund frame.

The King slept lightly, and his gaze almost constantly flicked back to check the woman. Sleep had evaded him of late, in an insomnia born of impatience and excitement. Soon, the golden-haired woman had told him; Soon his children would come into this world. He could hardly bare to wait, and was so often brimming with eager energy that he would pace the chamber until she asked him to cease. Then, he would slump back into the high-backed stone throne, and his narrowed pupils would linger on her, conflicted.

Pregnancy suited Clover, the man thought absently. He watched subtly beneath dark lashes as she napped, soaking in the peaceful smile on her delicate maw, the way her hands rested lightly on the swell of her soft creamy stomach. There was an unexpected jolt of tenderness within him - She was the perfect vessel to bear his children, the perfect maiden to carry his bloodline. So beautiful, so pure. Black lips curved up in a tired smile, and he rested his head on one arm, tilted in her direction so that he could continue to gaze upon her. The constant rain outside was a gentle, monotonous sound, and a calm relaxation poured through his restless frame, making it still at last.

He must have drifted off, and just been dozing lightly, for it was her little shocked gasp that provoked his eyes into flicking back open. His body quickly followed, jolting back into consciousness, and the lean dark man was already rising from the throne and moving across to her before he was fully aware of it. Her expression was one he had not seen before, not even when the pups inside her wriggled or shifted, and some natural instinct within him stirred. A gentle sound of questioning, a soft purr-like growl, ebbed from his maw, and the man crouched down near to her - Not touching her, but hovering anxiously. Even the most passive pregnant women were known to get snappy and agitated when their time came, and his instincts told him to remain at bay unless invited forward into her private space. "Wander!" Maw was tilted back into the gloom of the room, and the man barked the name of his slave in a sharp command, pupils seeking her out. Eyes immediately darted back to the beautiful woman, and he whined softly, irritated by his own uselessness. Childbirth was an ancient art sacred only to women - Here, all his wrath and power and ferocious intelligence was useless. "Is it time?" The King asked breathlessly, acidic eyes glittering intensely.

D'aww, daddy Sirius is so cute.

Just as quick as the strange tremor had rippled through her frame, it had ceased. Clover waited with baited breath for what was to happen next, and pale yellow gaze lifted to Sirius as he drew near her with an expression of both puzzlement and excitement. Much like her King, Clover was unsure what to expect as time continued to roll forward. She knew that she couldn’t possibly be more excited and ready to bring these children into the world, but the means of doing so still raised a lot of questions. Would she naturally know what to do? It seemed as if she were going to find out that answer rather quickly.

"I think so," she responded in soft tones to her love, a hand reaching for him and resting gently on his forearm. There would come a time, she was almost sure, that she would focus all of her energy and strength on the birthing of their children, but at the moment she sought the touch and comfort from her King. Clover would make a great mother, just as Ocean Flower had once been, but she still needed the reassurance that she was going to make it through all of this with relative grace.

Another tremor made its way through her frame, and her palm left the warmth of Sirius’ arm and found her own belly once again. The past few weeks she had experienced the movement of her children within, but this sensation was something entirely different. The contractions meant that labor was beginning and soon their children would be arriving into this world.

BABIEEES

Wander had gotten used to keeping herself scarce, only making her presence known when she was needed, called for help, or just to linger silently around Clover in a sort of timid mental state. She kept close to the golden maiden, practically basking in that chipper energy while emanating one of something that felt like dread, something that was uncomfortable, and under stress. Though her own offspring was due soon enough, she wasn't quite as large as Clover was. In a way, she was envious of the other woman's happiness, which only brought the twisting feeling of shame. However, the dame couldn't help but feel grateful in some odd way, enjoying the presence of the other woman. After all, it did seem to keep Sirius at bay.

She was sitting outside quietly when hark captured her name, barked out with urgency. As quickly as she could, she got to her feet and quickly made her way into Sirius's quarters and to his form and the golden damsel, or rather, their blobby shapes.

What is it? What's going on? the blind woman asked, puzzled and slightly panicked. It didn't help that she was uneasy, not wanting to be so close to Sirius in her state. Is it the children?

It was a strange feeling, to be speaking in such a loud tone. Or, at least, it was loud for Wander, the tone still soft and concerned. Every slender muscle was tense and on edge.

He's so excited XD (3+)

Her gentle touch stilled his nervous fidgeting; While that warm palm rested against his flesh, Sirius remained motionless. Eyes lowered to the connection, confused at the strange welling of emotions within him. He did not love as others loved - Love was issued according to value, to worth, and it was a measure of tolerance rather than anything else. But strange hormones had stirred in him lately, provoked by her own, and he could not ignore the bizarre, almost painful warmth within his chest.

Her soft words pulled him from the bizarre revere, and the man's eyes widened, acidic green rimmed with pearl. There was a fear within him, but he hid it from her desperately. Some women did not survive childbirth, he knew this. Some children did not. But Clover was strong - She had been fed only the best food, been given only the best nutrients, since he had been made aware of her condition. She was strong, and the pups within her would be strong, because they were his heirs. The weak would not survive in this harsh world.

Another contraction stirred through her, and she recoiled from him, clutching at her belly again. His face twisted in a protective half-snarl - He hated the pain she would have to go through, but it was necessary. The pain meant that the children she held within her were strong, and were fighting their way out. They would be true Northerners, he was sure of it.

The entrance of the slave distracted him, and Sirius' head lifted towards her, eyes flashing poisonously. The woman had been absent of late, and his narrowed pupils graced her own pregnant stomach, obvious distaste flickering across brooding, angular features. Only on Clover's insistence had he allowed the slave to remain, in her pregnant state - The soon-to-be mother of his children seemed rather fond of Wander, and it would have stressed her to send the pregnant slave away. "Yes," He snapped briskly, yellowed fangs glittering as he spoke, "It is time. Come, sit with her," He rose slowly, eyes returning to Clover. "I will call for a healer. Rest, be calm," Only the very best would do for the Lykoi princess and his would-be heirs - They would be treated to ever luxury they could desire. With urgent steps, he moved past Wander and out into the doorway of his chamber, where he tilted back his head and released a commanding howl and series of yaps summoning a healer, and summoning the witch, Siv.

Eeeee! So excite!

Wander was no stranger to her now, and Clover openly welcomed the woman’s presence within Sirius’ chambers and what had become Clover’s own temporary den. Of course she still had her own room within the Ruins, but Sirius had insisted that she stay within his own quarters for the duration of the pregnancy so that he could see to it that she received the best possible care. It was quite obvious that he did not take the news lightly, and Clover had known from the very first moment of the pregnancy that Sirius would make a fierce, loyal father much like he did a King to the Salsolan family.

He had called the slave woman over to her, and in turn risen from where Clover lie amongst the furs she had settled into her little nesting. Pale yellow eyes watched his departure, nodding gently at his words and eyes trailing after his dark form as he moved away towards the doorway. When another contraction came forth, her vision diminished to black as she snapped her eyes shut. This one seemed particularly strong and with it came a soft whine that Clover seemed almost to have no control over. She was suddenly growing uncomfortable, and yet the excitement of her children’s pending birth still allowed the woman to keep a smile present when the pain of the contractions had passed.

"Would you help me move these some?" Clover asked Wander once the tremor within had subsided. A hand gestured towards the skins that lie encompassing her. Now that things were starting to happen, Clover felt the need to reposition and get comfortable. Most importantly, she felt she needed more support near her back. She began pulling at the skins, bunching them around her just so, her grasp light and delicate as if the skins themselves were her newborn children. Sirius’ calls registered in the background, but the Lykoi woman was too focused on the task at hand. "I suppose this will be you soon," she commented lightly to Wander, gesturing vaguely towards her stomach with one hand once the blankets and things were situated to her liking.

The snippity tone that Sirius had used caused the dame to flinch a bit, alabaster-dipped hark tipping back in a tentative submission. Wander could not deny that she was afraid of the King, could not deny that she had a distaste for his ways in a similar way as to how he had a distaste for, well, her existence in general. She listened as he stalked away, those mossy eyes portraying her slightly upset shift in demeanor, though hark turned once more to the laboring Clover.

Of course, she spoke with a soft smile, grasping gently at those furs and helping to adjust them.

However, with Clover's next comment, Wander simply offered a half-hearted smile. I suppose so!

Her feigned joy for her own pregnancy wasn't particularly long-lived once she made her short statement, and she continued tending to shifting those furs to ensure Clover's utmost comfort, while thoughts strayed slightly. Yes, indeed, she was due very soon, however, the father of her offspring wasn't present, and the woman had serious doubts as to the level of assistance she would be receiving, if any. Wander quickly dismissed the train of thought before she got too distracted, needing to focus on what was at hand.

The blind woman gave the golden maiden's shoulder a light squeeze and offered a more sincere smile, before those hark swiveled towards Sirius as a means to address him, though she had doubted he would pay much attention or even notice.

Do we happen to have anything tough to bite down on? Hide, bark, anything? Wouldn't want to have Miss Clover clip her tongue, she asked, though her tone was laced with a slight trepidation when addressing the Boss. As well as anything to clean the young ones off?

don't mind Siv, she's getting all big in the head :>

When the call came, she rose from the work at hand. It was assorted things—leather and herbs and the corpse of a crow opened from throat to bowels. She had needed the heart and blood and was now plucking the feathers for later use. It was, however, obvious that she could not ignore the demanding cry. Sirius needed her, specifically, needed a healer, and oh what could that be about? Obvious signs had clung to wisps of scents, in whispers of a legacy. Siv understood the desire. She too, wanted more children.

She packed extra things into an already large bag and, clothed in her long skirt and feathers, went to Hildr. The ride was not long, but it was fast. Still, it was longer than she was certain that Sirius wanted. She no longer feared him, though. While his wrath was mighty, her magic was stronger.

Siv dismounted and moved towards the ruins. The voice of the slave came, too boldly for her own liking, and she stepped in with her head high and her face contorted into careful ice. “We do not wish her to choke,” the witch said sharply, and dipped her head to Sirius. “My Lord.”

[html]ooc; haley is helping me LOL with this. ^.^

The woman had spent the morning cleaning her den and organizing her things, it needed to be done after all of the herbs and such she had collected in and around the packs territory so that she would be prepared if any medical need would arise. It seemed on this day it did arise and soon she heard a loud and demanding call for a healer and quickly she set to work, gathering all of her things in a matter of minutes and swinging up on Valhalla before urging the horse in the direction the call came from. The horse sensed the need in her body language and did not miss the call of Siruis and did not lag, his dinner plate hooves eating up the distance between her den and The Boss's quarters. Alessandra arrvied in time to see a large black wolf dismount from her own horse enter the chamber, and she quickly dismounted and followed the black witch.

She looked at Sirius before dipping her head in greeting and respect. " You called for a healer, I am here my Lord. " The ebony mistress said as she stepped in as well, hearing the tail end of the slaves speech and Siv's own reply. " Actually, the slave is right Lady Siv. She can choose not to if she wishes, but biting down on a tough piece of leather provides added comfort. " Her face did not portray emotion as she rebuked what the higher ranking canine said, though she wished for the dark woman to be right she was not and so Alessandra had to step in as the healer. Not wishing to waste any time she moved away from the two and down to Clovers side, reaching out to grasp the coyote womans hand reasuringly as she gave her a comforting smile. " As long as you work with me and communicate as best as you can, you will do a great job and bear healthy, beautiful puppies. " She said, her tone confident. Alessandra was completely confident in the soon to be new mothers capability.

The woman turned her head to turn face Siruis, a more serious expression on her face. " My Lord, if I may offer a word of caution. I have known mothers to become very agressive and angry during the birthing process and they tend to lash out. This is not true for all mothers however, but there is the possibility of Clover attacking any males present as she succumbs to her instincts during this sensitive time. " Though she figured that The Boss would want to be present to the bith of his princes, it was dangerous for all of them to have him in the room. He wouldn't have to go far, just outside the room, but she had no idea weather he would be willing to go along with her advice. The woman turned back to Clover and smiled again, sqeezing her hand comforting before letting go and digging through her bag and retrieving a longer, thicker piece of hard leather.

" If you wish, you could bite down on this as the contractions start. It will distract you as well as provide added comfort. " She said calmy and kindly, a smile staining her bleached face. New mothers and puppies were an absolute blessing to the world and this was a small corner of heat and light within her otherwise cold and dark heart.

SORRY I SUCK SO MUCH GUYS, WOAH (3+)

He could hear Clover talking to the slave, and the woman responding, their voices soft and hushed. Large ears flicked back, but found no importance in distinguishing the words that came from either of the women. He was brimming with an urgent, nervous energy - Bubbling over with it. But his strength and cunning had no use here, and that left the man high-strung and impatiently frustrated.

Siv was the first to heed his call, although she took her time in doing it. There was not nearly enough submissive haste in the witch's step, as she entered his chamber, and the King's venomous eyes flashed with toxic green flames. Yet, his tongue remained still; Now was not the time to berate her, not when her specific talents were required.

He had always been a superstitious man, but never a religious one. Gods had always seemed to fickle a topic, too ominous and unpractical a presence within the life of a would-be-King, a serpent in Luperci form. He had always been far too enamored with his own wit, his own delicious existence, to consider the possibility that it was owed to something greater. But Siv had shown him her magic, and that had been difficult to deny - He had no grasp of science, as few in their pre-technological mindset did. All he had needed was proof, and she was a source of it.

Another appeared, this one with the appropriate amount of hurry to her step, and the King recognized her instantly as the warrior who had fought with him to defend their borders against the invaders. He knew her name, now; Had sought it out. Few escaped the attention of the Thistle King. He stepped back from the doorway to allow the healer entry, and immediately she assumed an authoritative stance.

Sirius was out of his depth. It was normally within his very being to project such dominance that those who came to him came bowing their heads in submission. But this was women's magic - How peculiar that he would have no standing within his own chamber, within his own kingdom? Olive eyes snapped back to Alessandra's face as she addressed him, her words low and calm. His pupils narrowed, and black lips peeled up, irritated that she saw it within her power to advise him to leave. "I will be here for the birth of my sons, healer," Came the snarled reply, although pupils flitted uncertainly over Clover, and then to Siv, seeking some form of clarification. He needed to be here, though. Needed to see his heirs as they came into the world.

Even so, his presence was flighty, uncertain, and he hovered near to the door at the back of the milling crowd of women.

My immense apologies everyone! Now.. let's bring some puppies into the world! Big Grin

It wasn’t long after Sirius made his call that others began to arrive. Clover was slightly distracted as contractions rippled through her torso, but her gaze lifted to find the witch woman Siv within the King’s own chambers. For the moment she remained silent, listening to the words of the women around her and silently preparing herself for what was to come.

Clover did not mind the arrival of Alessandra, though the woman was not familiar to her. However, since she was a part of Salsola, she was instantly warranted Clover’s trust. Anyone whom Sirius saw fit to be a member of his Salsolan family was accepted by the Lykoi woman. After a sharp intake of breath as a contraction stirred within, Clover finally spoke in soft tones, "No, I don’t want that." Though she understood the intent behind the leather, somehow it seemed too binding to the woman. Clover wanted this birth, this miracle of life, to be as natural and peaceful as possible and somehow the idea of bearing down on a piece of leather made this birthing process seem far too barbaric. One hand lifted to wave away the idea, but that wasn’t to say she wasn’t appreciative of these women around her.

When the idea of Sirius’ departure was proposed, pale yellow eyes instantly were wide and sought the apple green of her King. She would not speak out of turn, and would wait for the man to make his own decision, but Clover longed for him to see the message in her eyes. Please stay, they begged him. The King would never love her the way she loved him, but it did not change the fact at all that she needed his support and wanted him at her side. His refusal to miss the birthing of his children brought a wave of relief and Clover could not help but feel a warmth spread within her she could only caulk up to her ever growing love for the brooding man.

"No, I’ll be fine," she once again reassured the healer at the offer of leather. The contractions were beginning to come closer together now, and the sudden dampness blooming beneath her thighs alerted Clover that her water had broke and that this delivery would be happening very, very soon. Over it all, Clover couldn’t help but feel an immense sense of excitement, tainted only by slight anxiety.
