to really ask is to open the door to the whirlwind—the answer may annihilate the question and the questioner
lupus form — jordheim — about 7:45 PM - ish
Jordheim, Vicare had to admit, was one of the more unique collections of structures he’d ever seen. It wasn’t to say that he was a stranger to buildings of brick and mortar, stone and steel. Though he had been born a non-luperci, he and his childhood pack had lived near what remained of the city of Santa Fe, and the journey north had taken him through the ruins that had once been Richmond, Toronto, and Montreal, as well as a smattering of smaller cities and towns. Still, the pleasantly rounded houses that sunk so naturally into the hillside stood out particularly well. There was something about their earthen quality that made them feel more reminiscent of badger sets and the dens used by females to give birth than of the cold and now-skeletal structures that stood withering in the cities he’d passed through. It had still taken some amount of getting used to, but sleeping with a roof to separate him from the stars was beginning to feel like a more familiar affair.

Vicare stepped out of his dome-shaped house and drank in the sight of the Vinátta settlement. It was just before sunset by the feeling in his bones, but the sun still lingered in the softly blue sky, determined to make the most of the longer days that were a gift of the season. Beneath its waning intensity, the glass windows of the houses glittered like vertical panes of water. It was a beautiful sight, and Vicare took it all in, delighting in the luminance that surrounded him. Briefly, he turned to glance into his own home, which was located toward the back of the disorganized array of earthen structures. Inside were all his worldly possessions: the weapons and wine from Saul, the deer hide that was currently serving as bedding.

The Frithr necklace he now wore around his front right ankle, winding the cord several times to tighten it into place. He knew it had been meant to go around his neck, but the thought of placing anything around his throat didn’t agree with the tawny male. Maybe it was instinct, or maybe it was just because he wasn’t yet used to the idea. Nevertheless, he was fond of the charm. It made him feel as though he were a part of something.

Presently, Vicare stretched and began making his way through the rest of the village. His eyes roamed, obvious in their curiosity, and subconsciously, his tail swung behind him as an indication of his inviting mood. He glanced briefly into windows as he passed them, though never for more than a second or two, interested in nothing but the ways in which his fellow Vináttans chose to decorate their homes. He had no particular destination in mind, but the idea of hunting did occur to him. Perhaps he would pursue that course of action, but for now, he was content to stroll leisurely between the clusters of houses, sating nothing but his curiosity with the pleasure of his situation’s newness.

(306) Smile-

The sudden influx of loners seeking refuge was overwhelming. Lilin had just returned from their northernmost borders with three new faces in tow; two siblings and their feline companion, a female lynx. They had already accepted their welcome packs and claimed an earthen house for themselves; Lilin had done what was required of her as a leader and promptly retreated once all was said and done. She was on her way to Niernan's dwelling, hoping to notify him of another feline's presence within Jordheim- not that she worried much about the lynx's sociability but it was better to play it safe. Her relative's smaller domesticated cat had always been the only feline resident in Vinatta, and Lilin had no idea how Ciaran would react to another's presence. It was highly likely that Bran had already advised his brother of their newest arrivals, in which case she would keep them company for a little while before finding something else to do.

Saul had mentioned the arrival of many since their official claim of the Lake and its surroundings. She had basic knowledge and a brief description of every new face in town, but it never ceased to startle her whenever she encountered someone she'd never met before. Her reaction was no different when she came around the bend and crossed paths with a male she'd never before seen. He was several feet away still, taking in the sights when the Soulstorm heir stumbled upon him. ''Hey!'' she offered, projecting her voice a little louder to reach over the distance separating the tawny male from her location. It soon dawned on her that she had no specific reason of reaching out to him. Curiosity had gotten the best of her, as it often did, and her goal was simply to know his name at the very least.
