This post is regarding the Boreas/Scintilla plot that has been happening in Salsola and Inferni over the last month or so. For more information regarding the plot, please check in at the plot website, as it is a compilation of all the information regarding the invasion. If you were involved directly or indirectly by the plot, please read through the following - Skip ahead to the OOC section if you are not interested in the IC recap.

PLOT SUMMARY AND RESOLUTION

This is a detailed summary of the IC timeline for the Boreas plot. For OOC information, please see further below.

A highly-trained group of warrior-luperci, all having a puristic belief in the superiority of the wolf race and believing coyotes to be inferior parasites, tracked Kastra Hunting, Ithiel de le Poer, and Aemon de le Poer from their base in Scintilla, Utah. This band, named Boreas, brought with them warring and despair to any believed to have the filthy blood of a coyote within them. Upon arriving in Nova Scotia, the Boreas group established a base of operations, secreted away along the Atlantic coast. From this, they proceeded to focus their racial entitlement and genocidal goals on the packs Inferni and Salsola, both being led by coyote hybrids. During these attacks, any other meetings between Boreas and the nearby wolf-based packs were peaceful and unassuming.

The goal of the Boreas invasion was to establish a wolf-only paradise in Nova Scotia, beginning with the hard North. As the invaders were in possession of a well-preserved map of the area, they believed that Nova Scotia could effectively be isolated from the mainland by the Isthmus of Chignecto (the wolves were unfamiliar with nautical technologies, and could not perceive that the area could be taken by water, or that the water could provide transport for other canines). Their over-arching plan was to eradicate all coyotes and coyote hybrids presently living within 'Souls, and prevent any new coyotes from entering the land... Beginning with Inferni and Salsola!

The invasion began on March 22, when a lone Boreas scout was sent from their base in the mountains to investigate the nearby Infernian borders. Although seemingly innocent, this venture is followed by the first Raid, occurring on the morning of March 28, where two armed Boreas wolves through the eastern woods, making little attempt to hide their approach. This was a tactical move by Boreas, testing the coyote clan. The attackers were defeated by two defending Infernians, but the attack provoked discord and uneasiness within the clan - The war had begun.

A few days after the attack, Ezekiel, the Aquila of Inferni, sent a messenger to the neighbouring pack, Salsola. Although not officially allies, the leadership of Inferni and Salsola had been on good terms for some time, allowing for discussions between the two generally close-guarded packs. The Infernian scout inquires about any weird occurrences that may have happened in or around Salsolan territory, but is sent back without news.

The stillness does not last for long. On April 4, a huge attack formation infiltrates Infernian borders. The Boreas attackers formed two primary contingents, and were met by the eager teeth of the clan, who rose up to defend their land and their lives. Three of the Boreas invaders were killed, and the rest, surprised by the savagery of the defenders, fled back to their mountain base. Although taking the victory, Inferni is heavily unsettled by the attacks.

The silent peace that had loomed over the wary Thistle Kingdom was next to be shaken. On the day of April 9, the stillness is is shattered by two waves of attackers. The first catches the Salsolans off guard, but through viciousness and cunning, they manage to repel the invaders, taking one Boreas life as retribution. The second wave is met with a more prepared defence, but even so, the attackers manage to penetrate deep into the kingdom before being overwhelmed. This attack proved to be the last fight for Larkspur D'Angelo, a prized member of the pack, who meets his death at the hands of the invaders. Two Boreas lives are taken, and a third attacker is captured in one of the pack's out-lying traps. She is tortured for information, but reveals little about the whereabouts of the purpose of the Boreas group.

After this brutal battle, the Thistle pack had only a short time to mourn. Their leadership is shaken by the death; Eris, the Auxiliary, is grief-stricken at the loss of her mate, and Sirius, the Boss, is filled with a cold thirst for vengeance that filters down through all his beloved followers. Salsola becomes a tense, cold place to live. The next attack is met with a savage eagerness, when on April 27 the Boreas group sends 6 heavily armed attackers to strike at the borders once more. The ensuing battles are short, and bloody, although no lives are taken.

The following day, Sirius sends some of his most trusted members to Infernian borders, remaining behind to guard the packlands. These members are sent to relay information about the attacks to Ezekiel, and by order of Sirius, they are civil in their discussions. Ezekiel reveals to the three all that knows, regarding the attackers, and a shaky alliance is formed as the two packs begin to work together. A scouting mission is undertaken, with mixed membership searching the area for any sign of the intruders. After much difficulty, one group finally stumbles across the Boreas nest, noting its location before reconvening to share this new information.

On May 1, the new alliance launches its first offensive move. The attack wave is successful, ravaging the remaining Boreas wolves and leaving nothing but death in its wake. Only two of the invaders escape, slipping away in the chaos caused by the battle and disappearing back into the mountainside. The attack is a great victory for Salsola and Inferni, cementing the uneasy ties between the two packs into a solid alliance. Sirius and Ezekiel take out the leader of the Boreas, working fluidly as a team and providing an excellent example for their packs to follow. After the fight, the relative wealth of the Boreas group is piled together, and shared out under the proud gaze of the leaders. Satisfied that the warring is over, for now at least, both packs retire back to their territories, and life returns to its previous normalcy.

OOC CONCLUSION

Hi guys! Thank you so much for participating in the Boreas plotline! We, the leadership of Inferni and Salsola, have had a great amount of fun setting it all up and watching it unfold. We hope you've had just as much fun participating!

Now, we have noticed that it has started to get a little messy, as all large-scale plots inevitably do, so this here post was made to clarify everything into one succinct read for you all. The core message is this: AS OF MAY 3rd, THE ENTIRETY OF THE MAIN PLOT IS COMPLETE. What this basically means is, any threads you have made/will make after that date can refer to any of the Boreas events listed above as having happened. Basically, you can rest assured that the plot is completed by that time, and you can continue on playing your character as normal.

There are some nice side-effects of this to be had - If you have successfully placed a claim in the Items Claim thread, you can now play your character as having all that stuff you asked for! It's not too late to place a claim, either, so if you're still working on your threads, don't stress out!

Which brings us to remind you that if you thread is still in progress, do not fret! Please, continue the Boreas threads at your leisure. We would like it if you maybe gave them precedence over other, non-plot threads, just so they can be neatly wrapped up quicker. However, don't feel pressured to rush through them, just because the plot is officially concluded :3 Also, please don't forget to add your threads to the Boreas Conflict Wiki, if you have the time. If in your Boreas thread, your character has interaction with a particular Boreas character, please feel free to edit it into that character's Wiki page.

The Salsolan leadership would like to offer all characters who participated in the plot a shiny new Anicomb for their efforts:

This Anicomb is for the taking if your character has had one thread, with at least 3 IC posts, related to the Boreas plotline. For more information on Anicombs, please see the Anicomb page on our website.

Once again, we'd like to thank you for taking part with your character, and we hope you've had a nice war! If you have any questions, please post them in this thread.
