Since finding the small house sheltered in the mountains (and pointedly abstaining from its cache of alcohol), Levent had decided to wander back south again. He still wasn’t sure about the protocol when it came to dwelling within pack lands, as he still liked to wander, but common sense told him that he’d best spend as much time as he could chatting with his comrades and learning every detail about them. What he’d gain from that was unclear, but he liked having a few tricks and resources hidden up his sleeves.

One thing was becoming clear, however: he wasn’t going to make the journey all the way back south on an empty stomach. Coming across a hollow in a tree, he sniffed for signs of an occupant and, finding no traces of fur or droppings, stripped and stuffed his clothes and satchel inside. “Stand guard,” he told Wilson with a broad grin when he noticed the tom staring. He tied his colorful cloth around a wrist then shifted down into secui form, shaking his dark bristly mane and breaking out into a lope through the mountainous forest.

It did not take long for him to find a deer, and he called to it in its own tongue, just a few quiet words to get it to drop its guard. Not bothering for any more trickery than that, he rushed at it, managing to fasten his teeth in its belly when it tried to leap away from him. He brought it down, blood seeping around his mouth, and moved to bite its throat to finish the job. Tail wagging steadily behind him, he fastened his teeth in a hock and began to drag it back to where he’d stashed his cat and his stuff.

Wilson mewed praise about the catch and dropped down, and Lev spent the last reserves of his energy shifting back into his werewolf form although he didn’t bother to clothe himself again. Taking a crude cutting knife from his satchel, he cut off a portion of meat for the cat to eat.

Afiyet olsun, arkadaş, Levent declared, and dug in.

This can be set before Ovi meets Dalgina and Keldava, so just when he’s coming near CdA

After having met the friendly pup named Kohaku, Ovi was in higher spirits. However, the emptiness of his stomach was trying very hard to bring his mood back down. The fish he had somehow managed to catch he had given the majority of to Kohaku. He had always been taught that the canines ate before him, he was no more than a companion and had no true right to the food, even if he was the one who caught it. So, his stomach went wanting, again.

Today, Ovidiu found himself dirty once more. He hated the dirt, and hated being dirty. At one time, he had smelled wonderful, the sisters always taking their time to groom and bathe him. But now, he was covered in filth, and burs stuck to his fur like evil parasites. He had taken a swim the day he had caught the fish, but the cleanliness had not lasted long. He was tired, hungry, dirty and frustrated, and had decided to take it out on a tree. Long strips of bark littered the ground at his feet as he sharpened his black claws again and again. It felt good to do this, and Ovidiu let out a long, low rumbling growl.

He then dropped to the ground, and noticed a new smell on the wind; meat. His stomach perked up immediately, god he was hungry. But there were other smells, canine and feline. Another cat? He became immediately more interested, and headed in the direction of the scents. It took several minutes, but he finally spied a Luperci male eating a wonderful smelling deer, and a small cat. Ovi turned his head to the side curiously looking at the strange pair. Maybe, if this male got along with the small cat, maybe he’d get along with him. Tentatively, Ovidiu stepped forward.

Exhaustion flooded the male; it was all he could do to bring the chunks of meat he carved off to his mouth, and he ate but sloppily. Blood spattered the nape of Wilson’s neck as the feline crouched beside him, but he didn’t seem to care. Food was not taken for granted by the pair; while Levent could hunt as well as the average wolf, he was also conditioned to find a meal through other means such as bartering or the sheer luck of meeting a generous stranger. He was only as successful as the next guy, and more often than not they went to sleep with empty bellies.

That would change now that they had a pack, Levent realized. He tugged the cloth off his wrist and wrapped it back around his head, taming his dark hair. It would be easier to pay attention to relationships and the civilized side of his nature—as well as the beast that hungered for something beyond meat. Sure, he had responsibility as well, but packs wouldn’t have caught on for their ancestors if there were no benefits, even now as it was more organized group than family rabble.

Chewing, the Turkish man let his pale blue eyes fall shut. He might have drifted off into more daydreams if not for the sudden whip of a tail against his ribs. He blinked and looked up, seeing a hulking shape at the edge of the trees where the pair sat. Wilson was absolutely shaking, and Levent stroked his white fur gently as he stared at the shadow—some sort of great cat, though it was bigger and bulkier than the North American lions he’d come across.

But then the mystery feline edged forward, and Lev could see it—massive muscles and a tundra frame, orange fur striped with bold black. Bir kaplan,” he breathed, and stood slowly as he looked across at the big striped cat. His heart thundered, but it was excitement rather than terror, like any luperci might feel at facing a non-native beast as menacing as this. It only intrigued him, he who’d perhaps seen an abused tiger at a menagerie and whispers of them elsewhere in Asia. For some reason, he didn’t think this one would be that dangerous. He wasn’t blind, and he knew some of the shadowy stripes along its sides were signs of ribs.

“Do you speak any English?” Levent asked, his blue eyes wide but soft and curious. He stepped forward without a trace of fear, even as Wilson took the time to scramble up the nearest tree and stare. “You poor sweet beast, you look half starved,” he went onward, defaulting to the voice reserved to fluffy yearling kittens and molting parrots and old geldings.
