Ciara’s coat was shiny again. Her form had grown full and robust, yet still slender and lithe in that feminine way she had. Her brown eyes had retained their brightness. Upon seeing Ciara, one wouldn’t believe that she was the same Epsilon who had been prowling the pack lands looking gaunt and sickly. The issues that had stopped her from eating and sleeping had vanished, she’d eaten when her mate had requested it, and all was well. The weight on her shoulders as well as her mate’s had finally vanished and she was full of life again.

She’d spent some time with Augustus, and had met Kiara and her puppy, Lucia. Still the Epsilon was craving the attention and closeness of pack mates. Her golden paws carried her to a large clearing within the newer parts of New Dawn’s territory, whereupon she found the puffy seeds of dandelions swaying in the wind. Playfulness struck her and she pounced them, watching the seeds explode before her nose and spring up in the clearing around her. A laugh rumbled in her throat and she thought of tag, then grinned. That would be the perfect game to play with a New Dawn brother or sister.

Sitting on her rump in the clearing, surrounded by dandelions and beautiful, colourful flowers as well, the Epsilon lifted her head and let out a beckoning and joyous call. She didn’t care if her mate, one of her Alphas, or one of the many pack mates she hadn’t gotten to know yet showed up. All she wanted right now was a companion, someone to romp around in the flowers with, someone to celebrate the arrival of summer.

It was summer! And the season brought with it so many extraordinary things! At the cusp of the change the world had grown brighter, the palm of the earth that housed New Dawn much warmer. The springtime rains had left the forest and plains verdant and flowering, and so much life flourished. This would be their first summer in New Dawn, and it was beautiful.

Titania trotted gaily down a mossy pathway within the woods, her paws dancing over the ground effortlessly. Her tail was propped high and wagged despite there being no one around to wag for; she was just happy. Golden eyes perused the forest as she traveled through it.

She hadn’t been out long before she heard the beckoning call of one of her dearest pack sisters. Her paces came to a halt and she lifted her ears to receive the sound. This howl… it was a call of duty, but not the tedious kind that rang out so often. Titania’s smile grew wider and in an instant she began running, leaving the path and darting through the trees until she bounded out of the foliage and into the clearing where Ciara was.

She laughed the moment she saw her pack sister, and barked a greeting. Here I am! Come to play! she said in the nonverbal language of the wolf kindred as she raced over the grasses. Bright tendrils of sunlight warmed the clearing and the dandelion poufs made the world fuzzy as they danced all around – more and more fluff flew into the air in the wake of Titania’s paws.

Her smile was so wide that her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she ran. Ciara didn’t even have to ask for a game of tag because Titania ran right up to her, nipped her on the cheek and then ran past, grinning a toothy grin over her shoulder as she ran to the opposite edge of the clearing.

OOC: Sorry for the wait! WC: +3

After her beckoning call, Ciara had returned to pouncing the thousands of blooming dandelions in the clearing around her. Her body had lost the tension it’d held since the cougar attack, and the weather of late had only served to help things. Her patched coat was glistening now and her form was robust with health, making her all the more energetic and able to ‘slay’ the dandelion seeds around her. She was so busy pouncing about and playing that she didn’t detect Titania’s approach until the Alphess too came into the clearing.

As the seeds sprouted up around Titania as well Ciara let out a pleased yip of laughter and wagged her tail. The Epsilon took a moment to admire the beauty of her Queen. With the flowers all around and the white fluff of seeds in the air, as well as the afternoon sun glittering in the other’s crimson coat, the Alphess truly looked like a fairy princess. There was something different about her. Ciara had always thought that Titania acted much too serious, as though she was trying to prove herself to others. Being of the same age, the Epsilon could understand it, but it appeared as though the Alphess had had some weight lifted from her shoulders.

She allowed her thoughts to drift when Titania came running to her and let out a bark of excitement when her cheek was nipped. Lowering herself into a play bow with her golden tail wagging high in the air, Ciara then darted after her Alphess. Her paws traipsed across the ground lightly as she gaily pranced to her Alphess and nipped her flank. Then, the Epsilon whirled around and skipped away quickly, wanting the queen to chase after her and continue their play. With all the tension of the past forgotten, the two finally seemed like pack sisters.

Titania closed in to nip, and as she did so successfully her Epsilon barked and bowed, and Titania beat the ground with her paws in front of her and play-bowed back, her rump waggling almost as wildly as Ciara's tail. Then she lunged, faking forward, but when her forepaws hit the earth she pushed herself back, spun around and bounded away. But Ciara caught her with a snap to the flank, and it poked a spot of her rips that tickled and she let out an explosion of laughter. Playfully, she collapsed to the ground and rolled over as Ciara ran off.

Rolling back to her belly her head popped up over the dandelions and her yellow eyes peered out at Ciara, who was awaiting her pursuit. Well, she wasn't about to let her prey get away that easily! Springing back to her paws, Titania was in motion again, barreling toward Ciara. If the wolfess doesn't move she will bowl right into her with little remorse!

As her tongue lolled out of the right side of her mouth, Titania had completely forgotten about the ills of the past – the offense that she had thought had been done against her, the offense she thought Ciara did despite the innocence of it all. Such was the blessing of youth, and the blessing of pack. It was possible to forgive.

“If you don't run like a hare,” she threatened playfully as she darted toward Ciara, “I'll chew on you like one!”

OOC here!

Ciara let out a similar burst of laughter when Titania rolled after her nip. She bounded….pranced, really, away from her Alphess and to the edge of the clearing, before turning tail and making her way back. Her paws pounded against the earth as she kicked up more dandelion flowers, yipping happily. She stopped every so often to wiggle on the spot, her tail wagging hard behind her when she glanced to the still rolling Alphess. Suddenly Titania’s crimson form was coming towards her, and Ciara grinned.

She waited…waited….waited some more until the other was almost at her before she ducked right down into the grass. Titania would either stop in surprise, run her over, or jump over her. Either way it would be fun, and Ciara hid her snickering beneath a paw. Inside she was soaring, so happy that she and Titania could have fun like this. All their previous encounters had been so serious and negative, it was wonderful to frolic in the flowers with her and just have fun.
