wc :: 453 :: Cuteness overload will be in this thread, I demand it! Tongue Feel free to PM if you’d like to plot anything out.

Heiro had woken up early and left the Chien Hotel to play down by the beach. He was getting better at sneaking out while his mother and sister were sleeping, Niro was off visiting family, and was quickly turning his practiced stealth into a routine. The husky babe was hoping to run into his wolf pup friend Ro, but since the trench blunder, his dark pal had disappeared. Not allowing himself to sulk into lower spirits as his large hybrid paws hit the cool sand, the black and white pup took off at an all out run down the beach and towards the ocean squealing with glee as he went and letting out a yodel-like howl.

The morning sun was just glancing off the Atlantic Ocean and the air was still crisp, but it was the water that really shook Heiro’s tree and woke the puppy up. Brrr...he shivered as his teeth chattered together, the ocean waves had washed clear up to his armpits and flanks and now the pup scampered back towards the dunes, satisfied with his little spurt of energy. Tongue lolling to the side in his very wolfish grin, Heiro made his way to sparse copse of grass atop the duneside to look out over the ocean.

His ice blue eyes scanned the horizon as he panted and let out little playful yips to the seagulls dotting the shore. Who knew what the day would hold? With the attention span of a squirrel or really any pup at his age, Heiro’s gaze dropped to a gaggle of Canadian geese and mallard ducks occupying one part of the beach. His little heart thrummed in his chest from his earlier exertion, but now he had a goal. Duck hunting! Oh how he loved to see the large birds fly. The puppy slid down the dune, successfully covering his wet half in sand, and slowly began inching his way towards the resting flock.

He managed to get as close as his anxious little heart could take before taking off in a full out sprint once more sending puppy barks and miniature howls into the air before the cacophony of the morning was filled with raucous squawks and honks of dismay. The mallards took flight quacking angrily back at the disturbance, but the geese held their ground, and Heiro found out why a little too late. Pouncing in with a triumphant laugh, the hybrid found himself nose to bill with a gray downy-feather gosling. The baby, much younger than he, gave a shrill cry of fear and Heiro instantly froze when the thunder of wings filled his ears followed by the terrifying hiss of the momma goose.

Forest-green eyes adjusted to the light coming from the closed window in the room of the Chien Hotel, feathering the room in a pleasant glow that had Tasha waking up on better terms. Stretching her small body, a yawn slipping past that little muzzle as she bent to greet her brother for the day with her usual nuzzle-nip. But those eyes widened to see he was gone. And it wasn't the first time at that. Even then, could the husky-wolf imagine him slipping from the bed with silent ease, the intent on sneaking off in his eyes. Tash knew Heiro meant well, but lately...Her beloved sibling had been--Weird? She decided to put it at that, sometimes things were funny without the humor. And maybe something very, very bad would happen to her. Heiro's antics didn't seem him at all. Some days he was different though. Quieter and more secluded in his hobbies. It worried her, but who could she possibly alert? Who would even believe her tale? Most adults would stamp it on sibling rivalry, just another tattle to get him in trouble. The little Takekuro adored her brother, and if trouble was the price; telling didn't seem worth the price.

With her eyes constantly fixated on her mother, the hybrid softly pulled herself from the sleeping place. Successful and soundless, the child left the room, and soon the hotel. The day was nice, greenery was lush around her. Even the grass seemed to gently stroke her soft fur in a friendly greeting. The sky was blue, the world just waking to another day. If only she could find her bro. His scent wasn't too difficult to follow, still being fairly fresh and new on the trail. The sea was rolling domestically on the shore, So pretty! Tash mused in her head, enjoying the sight set for her.

Loud sounds, unpleasant sounds of dismay and surprise had her ears picking up in fear. Some birds nearby took to the sky, which worried the girl much more. Heiro! Where was he? Over there? Racing as fast as she possibly could on her wide puppy paws, the wolfdog sprinted with the dirt flinging behind her toes. "Heiro!" Tasha yowled, screeching to a stop on the scene. It was a fearful and heart stopping sight, frightening in ever way Tasha could imagine. The bird, huge and powerful-looking was advancing on her black and white furred brother. And it was obvious that a friendly nuzzle was not its intent. A hiss on its ugly bill, it got closer to her brother. "Noo!" Tashy screeched, jumping into the scene with a flurry of barks and growls. She tried to stay out of the way of the wings and bill, moving back to shove against her brother's flank with her rump. "Gotta get outta here!" Gulping in air, flushing with adrenaline and fear, the Princess finished "Run Heiro!"

wc :: 321 :: D’aww!

The hybrid puppy was shaking like a leaf as he slowly turned towards his attacker, closing his eyes like a lamb sent to slaughter and gulping down his last inch of hope as he woefully accepted his fate. Yet out of the din came a familiar sound, his own name! Taw-sha! His voice cracked in a surprised squeal as his eyes flew open. Of course his beloved sister would be the one to save the day! She was a blur of creamy hues as she leaped into the fray, barking and growling to keep the feathered beast at bay. Heiro didn’t need telling twice from his sissy that it was now time to run! As soon as her furry tush touched his back legs, the oreo colored babe took off.

Les get outta here! He agreed, large paws kicking up sand as he rocking horse ran across the beach and away from the angry hisses. He looked like a sandy caterpillar fleeing the scene, not daring to look over his shoulder until he reached the safety of the dune he was on before. Oh if their mother could see them, they’d have hell to pay and a lot of explaining to do, but Heiro knew he’d shoulder the blame and gladly for his saviour, Tasha.

Once his pink padded paws hit the soft cool sand of the dune, Heiro let out a triumphant laugh and collapsed in a heap. His rose tongue lolled out the side of his maw as he gasped in air, nevermind the sand sticking to his lips and mouth. We...did...et... he panted out, sure by the sound of diminished honking that the angry momma had given up chase. His heart felt like it could beat right out of his chest, but with closed eyes, the little Prince was content with laying sprawled out on the dune.

sorry for the crappy post, I really shouldn't be posting in the early morning <.<

There had never been another thrill like this so far in the little Princess's life before, it had her shaking with adrenaline and fear in equal parts, gasping for breath as she watched for her brother to rocket away from the terrifying scene. The hybrid puppy wanted to be like her father, wanted to be brave and strong as he was. Niro took the spot as her idol, and letting him down and running for her own safety--Would hurt Heiro so much. Heart pounding like a drum in her little chest, as soon as Heiro rocketed off, she followed with tail high and legs scooping the sand beneath her little feet as she charged away. Tasha refused to glance back, refused to take a single glance back at what would haunt her dreams for a while to come. Steadying her every step, channeling her every threatening tear, thankfully the creamy girl would stay strong.

Helping her sibling didn't particularly make her feel like a hero. It seemed most heroes seemed unafraid after a rescue, dignified and confident. The Takekuro flopped to the ground beside her brother as they gained some distance from their attackers, ears perking as he spoke. Tha scared me so much brudder." Tash whined quietly, rolling to bury her face in her brother's neck. Now, she felt like the baby. The child held off from sobbing however, trauma was trauma--It'd leave her soon. "You're so fast Hei!" It was true, the scary things were far away. Stretching and flicking her brother with one light-furred paw, the sandy hybrid said again quietly, "What were ya doing, why were ya out here?" Their parents would have their little tails if they caught wind of the newly established plot. What if the winged monsters had killed Heiro?

As her heart returned to normal and her fear toned down, the little wolfdog glanced around quietly, deciding she didn't particularly want to go back to the hotel. The day was too beautiful, much to perfect to leave behind back in the safety of indoors. The morning sun beat down gently on her back, the waves in earshot singing their whispery song as they crashed against the shores. Green eyes flicked to her brother, letting a puppy grin cover her young visage, "Hey! Les e'plore for a while. Momma and Poppa can't find out tho!"

wc :: 387 :: Aww your avatar is too much!!!

Black-topped ears swiveled towards the sound of his sister’s voice. Heiro responded with a whine of his own as his cream colored twin buried her nose in his neck fur. I guess it was perdy scawey, he commented allowing his beloved sister to draw strength from him. He loved her so much and couldn’t blame her for being frightened, but Tasha didn’t realize how brave she actually was. She was always there to rescue Heiro from a silly prank or a potentially dangerous situation so living on the sidelines wasn’t an option for her when her brother was such a daredevil. Really Tasha was the kind of best friend anyone would be happy with, but unfortunately Ro tried to dissuade him of this thinking every time he came around.

Tha’s cuz you gave me a head start! He insisted, knowing his bulk generally slowed him down and Tasha’s more lean frame was built for sprinting. He was okay with that though, anything to flatter his sister made him happy. Well...y’know....Ro...his voice trailed off. He knew Tasha didn’t like him hanging out with the wolf pup. What he didn’t realize is that Tasha no more than anyone else in the kingdom could see this phantom wolf with scarlet eyes, and that Ro was merely a part of him. He’s mad at me for da udder day...but yes ‘splorin is always fun with you! A wolfish grin spread across Heiro’s husky visage, he wondered what they could get themselves into today.

His icy eyes peered out over the dune again at the flock of geese and ducks that had returned to normalcy, the earlier attack already a long gone issue. A quick glance at the rising sun let Heiro know that it was still relatively early. Momma had been sleeping late with their father gone and he figured they’d be okay for a little while longer. Amaranth seemed to be fairly lax when it came to the whereabouts of her children, Heiro supposed it was because the kingdom was a relatively safe place...but all in all, he was happy with the freedom. Lead da way sissy, he said rising off the dune and giving his sandy coat a good shake.

haha but Heiro's so adorbcute!!! Big Grin

The little Princess couldn't help but look over her brother with complete adoration. Even at her young age, the child could respect the bonds of littermates with Heiro. The pair had shared a womb, shared their life for weeks just together. Always would they be siblings...Family. With the shivering subsiding, the creamy puppy closed her eyes and breathed the fresh sea air. It was a wonderful day to explore, and without their mother's eyes on them, the panoramic world was just the children's to plunder. Who knew what treasures were buried in the sand? Or how much of the lost trinkets that once belonged to others of the Court would they find? It just brought her mind from the previous scare to a more hopeful outlook. Jade eyes passed to her sandy paws, distorting her small face to an expression of disgust as the semi-wet sand came into view. "Eeew..." Growled the girl; trying so hard to shake it from her feet. Tasha looked down shyly as Heiro acknowledged her bravery, pinning her ears to her skull modestly. "Naww Hei-ro...Just did wha I could bubby." Heiro was brave, to be truthful. He had left the home alone, it had taken nothing but consideration for her brother to persuade the Takekuro female to even vacate the nest.

Taking a moment to regain herself, glancing around with her green gems, refreshed from the sea breeze...Wondering if their mother was still asleep. It was likely, Tash's beloved father was gone for a bit. It gave her the chance to sleep longer into the morning. Wriggling the sand from her soft pelt, the child perked her ears as he mentioned Ro again. She had never seen Ro, or ever had a whiff of his scent. However, Ro was very much real to her brother, even when it scared the girl with Ro's antics. Green eyes flashed silently, "Why is Ro mad at ya?" The Princess surely worried, how long would it be before Ro taunted her sibling into something more than small traps and dead rodents? The attack had been forgotten, a new lesson learned. The hybrid puppy took her mind from her brother's imaginary friend and to the world surrounding the two Takekuro/Catori children. "Le's goooooo!" Yowled the pup as she jumped from the sand dunes, keeping close to Heiro though. At the bottom of one particularly sandy hill. Stopping dead in her tracks, the light-furred babe nosed into the soft ground beneath her feet. Little shore crabs scurried out by her feet, battle claws raised in defense. Eyes widening and tail flipping the air around her, Tasha called to Heiro "Hey! Lookit tis!" They were the absolute most fascinating creatures she had ever seen, and those claws had to be for something.

wc :: 438 :: Crabs! Big Grin

A dopey smile spread across Heiro’s white blazed visage as he watched his sister try to shake the wet sand off her paws. Though Tasha constantly came to the rescue for her sibling, there was no denying her prissy side. Heiro loved this about her, it reminded him that he was a boy and she was girl ie he liked getting dirty, and she liked being clean. His own paws up to his pits were covered in wet sand, but the pup could careless. In his mind it added to the camouflage every adventurer needed when wanting to do detective work or some good sleuthing. Tasha was exempt from wearing “war paint” as her coat already blended with the sandy shore. Heiro would let her slide, this time. An dats a lot, he insisted knowing flattery only embarrassed her, but he wanted her to know she was appreciated and loved.

The little prince cocked his head to the side when Tasha asked him about Ro and his cheeks began to burn with embarrassment as his ears flattened against his head. He wanted to trick folks en to fallin’ en a ditch...but we got snuck up on an momma came then, he frowned remember how Terra had so easily found him within the bushes. I didn’ want her to get hurt, so I spoiled et...ruined da plan, he gave an “oh well” shrug of his shoulders and lifted off the dune. It wasn’t time to dwell on past let downs, they had some adventuring to do! He let out a little puppy howl of his own as Tasha began their trek for something interesting. She had a better nose than him, or at least knew how to use hers. Heiro on the other hand was just beginning to realize the world of smells the wet blob at the end of his face opened up for him.

Seeing that Tasha had already found something exciting, he bounded over to her at her invitation and quickly realized the objects were moving. Wat are dohs? He asked in awe, daring to put a large paw in front of one, only to chicken out at the last minute when its menacing appendages got too close. Look at them peepers! He giggled, talking about their odd stalked eyeballs. He’d never seen anything like it, but it sure was funny. He lowered his front half in a play bow and began barking at one of the scuttling things, which only caused it to shuffle sideways towards Tasha.

Big Grin

Her little eyebrows knit together as he explained the exempt need to cause a little ruckus with Ro, not saying anything. At least he had done something right, Momma could have gotten hurt! Her dusty-furred tail swished slowly, her expression painted that of forgiveness. "Ya saved Momma Heiro. Could have gotten bad owies... The Princess was sure that her sibling had a heart of gold, it was so hard to be angry with him, even when a hallucinated being was provoking him to fo stuff.

With the bracing breeze of the fresh sea air, the hopes and the girl's heart had lifted. A fluffy tawny tail swished from side to side behind her as she studied the little crabs curiously. It appeared that they were built for defense, having their backs armored with tough shell. The pinchers however, looked very much harmful. Never would she want to have any of her skin connected between the walls of the curved appendages. Her ears pressed back as they scuttled about her feet, cautiously backing away as Heiro came to investigate the scene. Dark green eyes widened, eyelashes batting as she tried to explain the scuttling things. "I doh know, wha' should we call dem?" At the monochrome boy's mention of their eyes, Tasha burst into a fit of giggles. "Dey're so cool, 'Eiro! We shou'd bring some back to the home! Mommy 'd be happy!" How charmed their mother would be! Her voice grew excited, tail batting against the air in a frenzy. As the crab sidled up near her, she jumped into the air as it raised a clawed arm in her direction. "Whoa! How we gonna do it Heiro? Take dem home?" Testing her idea, the small female nosed the crab on its shell, staying behind and out of reach of those death traps. Her tiny mouth enveloped around it, tiny teeth gently holding the back. But it tasted funny! It squirmed in her grip, uncomfortable with the protruding legs hashing at her tender maw. "Bleh!" Tasha spat it out onto the sand, holding it down with a paw. "Tastes bad--Too squirmy!" But that seemed like the way to manage, the little Takekuro glancing to her bigger brother. The crab, very much ruffled from the Princess's ministrations, raised both frontal pinchers into the air, intimidating the creamy wolfdog through those alien-like stalk eyes. "Boy, tha monster looks mad...."

Heiro loved his sister very much, even more so when she was able to make him feel good even though his mind was conflicted when he went against Ro’s wishes. Yet here she was commending him for standing up to the shadow pup and successfully saving their mother from an ultimate tumble into the pit he had labored at digging up all day. He gave her a playful yip before turning his attention back to the aliens creatures, the one he had been barking at before changed its course and scuttled away from his sister. When asked what they should call the new found things, Heiro immediately screamed out, Stalkies! He just couldn’t get over their queer looking eyes.

Yes! Momma wud know wat de are and she’d like em! Hei agreed full heartedly, nodding his head vigorously and sending the sand still clinging to his wet fur flying about. One of the weird creatures got too close to his sister and sent her rocketing into the air. Heiro lost all control at the sight of this and rolled onto his back with infectious laughter. Tosh, ya...looked...so...funny! He managed to say in between giggles, but he quickly rolled back to his stomach when she asked him how they should carry them back. Ice blue eyes watched as his sister began to make her first attempt.

A snort of laughter slipped past his lips when Tasha managed to pick one of the shelled creatures up in her mouth. She looked ridiculous, but it was clear the creature did not like this position as its hairy legs danced about suspended in the air. The black and white Prince feigned a grossed out look when his sister spat out the thing. He wasn’t about to put his mouth on one of them, but he could only imagine the flavor. Ya dat Stalkie do’en like yer mowt Tosh, Hei said with a wolfish grin, slowly inching closer to the pinned down crustacean. He wanted to at least touch one of the creatures with his paw when something clamped down on his tail.

Shooting up in the air as his sister had previously, he let out a surprised squeal. Tosh, get it off, get it off!! A Stalkie lookit! He pranced about, whipping his tail back forth while a valiant armored creature remained clasped on the tuft of hair at the end of his curled tail.
