Zeitgeist sat down on one of the raised beaches and stared out over the water in the distance. Even though he knew it to be different it didn't look to be too much different than the wide open that he had sailed over on his way here. But then again it wasn't like he knew exactly how to tell one large body of water from another large body of water. While the older male was busy staring off in the distance the younger male at his side had found something else in which to attract his attention and occupy his time with.

The dog was made known of this fact when he felt a tug against his vest. He was pulled from his thoughts by the action and turned his head to stare down at the boy at his side. Guillotine held up what looked like a rock at first glance. But upon closer inspection Zeitgeist noticed the ridged impressions in one side of the rock.

"Well this is certainly interesting." The words were spoken as Z was busy turning the fossil about in his hands, not that he knew that such was what it was. "Where did you find this at?" His gaze lifted from the fossil and settled on Guillotine as he questioned the boy. His gaze was then directed by the pointing finger of the young boy. "Are there more?" This time the response was a shrug. "Maybe if you can find a few we can get something for them in Freetown." The suggestion was made and had the boy looking around for more of the strange objects.

And if you're ever around, in the city or the suburbs, of this town,
Be sure to come around, I'll be wallowing in sorrow, wearing a frown,
like pierrot the clown.

Odessa's body had begun to change as new life sprung inside her. A small raise was positioned at her front and, thankfully, so far she'd only experienced the joys new life brought aside from the sickness and pain. Naturally she'd been more tired, but she'd remained pleasant to spend time with and only small spurts of irritation seeped through when she was alone. And they were never, ever directed at anyone aside from the jar of herbs, or the piece of paper before her. But Odessa was shadowed constantly by a feeling in joy and enlightenment, an easy stirring inside her that never failed to make her smile. But she was worried too, as Imhotep did. The medic was small in stature when compare to other women her age. Of course she fitted the bill visually, but in scale she was almost dwarfed by others. Odessa still looked teenage now, womanly but small and childlike. And this would make things difficult.

She walked slowly down the beach, her hands resting across her stomach gently. Her mind soaring into the distance as she wonder what they'd be like, visually and in personality. The medic hardly noticed the pair of males at the other end of the beach, and stopped abruptly when she did. 'Hello? she managed to question timidly.

Each small find, though none quite as impressive as the first, were brought over to Zeitgeist by Guillotine. The collection was settled into a small pile. Everything that could possibly illicit even the smallest hint of interest was being brought over. The pile contained shells and colored stones along with the fossil. The dog was fairly certain that he could talk up the value of anything that he ended up taking to port. There were always those that were unwitting. There were those that valued the story to a piece more than the piece itself. It would be these types that Z would first seek out a trade with. They would be among the easiest to get anything from.

The boy paused in his working and Zeitgeist was forced to lift his head as the sound of an uncertain greeting was spoken. "Ciao." He called out easily with a raise of his hand. It was uncertain if the gesture was really meant for the female or if it was for the boy's sake instead because Guillotine gave up his search in order to settle himself down next to Zeitgeist.

The dog didn't move from his spot and didn't even try for further words. His focus had once again drifted out to the water as his thoughts consumed him again. Rather than the morose ones that tried to pull him under he was tallying up the haul they had and appraising them against the items that they would need to end up getting. There were things he needed to find for reimbursements as well as the constant need for food. The dog would certainly have to weave splendid tales in order to get everything on his list.

Odessa, now calm from the almost familiar foreign greeting, moved closer. This was accidental, or so she made it look, inching closer to have a look at those shells. Masking it as a walk across the beach, lapping tides at her feet. Her arms wrapped around her as the wind picked up a bit, pulling at he dark tendrils of her mane and throwing them across her pumpkin gaze. The one she shared with her mother an now deceased uncle. How she missed him, but naturally she'd gotten over the initial shock and sadness, but she was still morning with sunny smile. Odessa had other things to worry about now, family, the clinic, Salsola. It was all she could do to spend a few moments of her day to think of him. And how he was in a better place. But then she considered how much he loved Salsola and how much he put into it, specifically with the animals Salvia now tended.

Now beside the male and his younger companion, she gazed at the pile and began to speak. 'Do you have any shells that would be efficient for scooping things up? Like water and herbs? Something like a trowel?' The medic had bags and bags of herbs in straw bags and buckets, and it would be easier to have something to scoop them up with. Of course, she could have easily asked Novak to craft something out of leather, but she almost always prefered trading outside of the thistle lands, it gave her a chance to build strong relations with traders who could offer things to better Salsola.

The dog ignored the female. He found himself with a lack of interest in company at the moment. Or well, that wasn't exactly true. There was one that he still wished to see. But of course that one wasn't even present at the moment. It was around that leading male that his thoughts continued to circle. The brunette had stolen his attention now that Zeitgeist knew he was so close. Besides, he had struck out with all of the female company that he had lately. That also made him not want to even try again.

Zeitgeist was forced to focus on the female once more as she spoke to him. When he looked up at her again she was much closer than she had been before and he couldn't exactly remember her approach. He glanced down at the small pile before looking up at the female again to give a shake of his head. "No. Mi dispiace." He responded in turn. "Those are much too plain to take to market. I am only collecting those of uniqueness and vibrant colors." He wanted things that would catch the eye of foreigners, like himself, as that was who he was planning on trying to sell them to.

Zeitgeist pointed down to the line of beach that remained moist from tide lapping over it again and again. "You might have better luck down there, closer to the water, than you would have up here." After all Zeitgeist had perched himself up on the rocky ridge that overlooked the sand. He had decided to stay where the ground was still firm and wasn't likely to shift out from beneath his feet. That meant the treasures found near where he was would be different from those to be spotted along the shoreline.

Odessa frowned softly at the answer. 'Oh. That's a shame...' she mused, her mind ignoring the foreign words automatically. Plain? She had to disagree there. What about practicality and usefulness? Didn't they account for anything any more? Glancing down to where he spoke of, Odessa frowned and shook her head. No, she wasn't going to risk her life and try to clamber down the slope. 'No thank you... I'd rather not...' Imhotep would worry his head off if she came home with injuries, or worse, not at all. And, of course, Odessa would not put him through that. She also valued her life much more than shells were worth. Sighing and casting her pumpkin eyes out to the sea again, the medic slash gardener spoke, 'Well, if you find any and decide to pick them up, bring them to Salsola. I may be able to offer something for them'.

After all, if he wanted a trade for them, she was able to give him one. Herbs and plants were naturally in abundance and there was plenty of other things Odessa could find. 'See you then...' she said and wandered off a little ways. She went slowly, taking her time to water the sea tide roll in and out lazily.
