Tell me of the mistress of demons

Towards the end of the night

Honrin didn't do celebrations and balls and parties where so many people that he didn't know were congregated. To say the youngster was miserable was an understatement. He was so cold on his insides that it felt as though he had lumps of ice for lungs instead of flesh and blood. He stayed close to the wall at all times if he could. He had left his station once or twice to obtain food or drink. At one point he hid close to his mother just to be able to feel again, taking in large fortifying breaths as his emotions came rushing back, only to have some unknowing person step between them and sever the connection, by the time they had passed him by Jace had disappeared into the crowd.

The next time he had found a fleet sliver of happiness was when Pandora had approached him to dance. His sister was such a beautiful woman, especially in the pretty blue dress that fit her so well and made her look even more extraordinary. Again that strange longing flared up along with the feeling of being punched in his stomach, there was also a tingling in his spine. If he could have blushed at that moment Honrin would have as impure thoughts came to his mind. But his stupid problem kept away all emotion, all feelings apart from the longing, always the longing managed to break through. He threw back the remainder of his drink and for the first time in his life wished it was something stronger, something alcoholic.

For once Hadley was enjoying himself. His worries had dissipated as the evening wore on, no longer truly concerned about the situation. He was dancing with pretty ladies, enjoying being the one to guide the situation with Isa. Dancing with her he'd felt like he was floating. His ears still flattened whenever he was near someone too boisterous for his gentle nature to handle, but all in all he was doing extremely well.

Pausing at the drinks table Hadley glanced down. Seeing a young male drinking something and looking rather miserable promptly made him sympathetic. His tail twitched nervously as he debated approaching the youth. It wouldn't be right to leave him like that. Hadley could make it worse with his awkward nature though. Deciding to try and be friendly, as the wolf was a guest, Hadley brought something for the other to drink. H-here. He held it out hesitantly, hoping it would be taken.

He all but ignored the people that were busy having fun all around him, they couldn't help him or make him better, fix his condition or even interest him, he was dead inside. Inside a small flame burnt but that flame was for one and one only and she was happily dancing with somebody else within the crowd. If he could have felt he knew he would be angry and sad and upset but he couldn't so all he had was his half life, his cursed life surrounded by strangers who sometimes he thought he could begin to hate if he tried hard enough.

A shadow passed over him and he thought nothing of it, there were always people moving past him. It wasn't until the shadow stayed still for several secodns and then a voice that sounded just as small and alone as he felt sounded out, almost inaudible over the crowds noise, another youngish male with brown coloring greeted his dull eyes,

"Hello."

The young pale male actually focused his eyes on Hadley. That was a good sign, right? Tail swaying he kept the drink held out, hoping that he would accept it. The greeting was rather simple, but that was alright. It had taken a long time for Hadley to start speaking in actual sentences. He still slipped back into more simple ways of speaking when particularly stressed out. Hello. I'm Hadley, a member of Casa.

He probably already knew that. After all, Casa members would be the only strangers for the d'Arte members here. Feeling a little foolish Hadley decided it was best to try and persevere. It's nice to have an allied pack. I'm glad to meet with you. It's good to have a safe supply trade, one that won't bring harm with them. Hadley suppressed a shudder, knowing that it wouldn't be right to show that fear here.
