Okay, I’m just going to add Rio to this monstrous post... I tried not to PP too much.. Post-dated to 6/11[Words: 1070 :: Points: 10]

Axelle laid calmly on the bed listening to the silence that surrounded her. Occaisonally she would hear the minor squelch of an organ slide off of a piece of furniture or the man’s carcass out in the living room settling due to gravity. The wet sound made Axelle’s mouth water, and she hadn’t known why. The heart had given her a blood lust, a bad one, and now she had the craving to just eat the man. Figuring she couldn’t sleep anyway, she sat up – the room began to move again – and when she attempted to stand up off of the bed, she fell to her hands and knees with a thump. The floor had blood everywhere and it was slowly leaking into the bedroom because the body lay against the wall just outside of it. She didn’t care, she crawled through the puddle, getting her hands and knees bloody again, and she plopped her ass next to the body. She grabbed the knife that sat in his dead hand and began cutting off chunks of meat from the man and shoving them into her hungry mouth. Cannibalism never quite occurred to her. She always thought a wolf would be a special dining occasion since she wouldn’t go hunt one down in normal circumstances.

Axelle kept cutting pieces of muscles off the tattered corpse and shoving them quickly into her mouth. They didn’t taste like anything but blood, and maybe they didn’t taste like anything because she wasn’t thinking. She was just eating. Soon, she cleared the brute’s chest muscles revealing only bloodied broken bones and an empty chest cavity where Kai stole his heart. The remainder of what was left of his organs spilled out the bottom of his ribcage. She didn’t bother with that, she only wanted his meat. When she cleared the chest muscles, she worked her way to an arm, the less marred one, and began cutting pieces off just as she had done before. The repeatedly continued the process, happily eating this male dead.

Malakai left Axelle alone in the bloody apartment to find help, and he found it sooner than expected. Rio had been in the same area where they had first met in Greater Halifax, not far from where his injured lover stayed. She had been shopping for more clothes and looking for household items like curtains and comforters for her beds when she saw the familiar Secui male. Her horse, Vitalia, was tied up a short distance away and she left the owl home that day. He still needed to rest his wing, and so she locked him in the house. When Malakai approached her, she immediately saw the pain-stricken worry painted on his face and right away she knew she would help the young lover. The two jumped on Rio’s horse, after Kai shifted, of course, to get back to the man’s mate faster.

It only took them about fifteen minutes to get back, and Rio started getting off of the horse first. She carefully swung her leg over, careful not to kick the man and careful not to fall off the saddle, due to her inexperience. She situated her bag better on her shoulder and followed the direction of the man, without tying up Vitalia. She figured the horse would stick around as she never disappeared before. They both disappeared through an empty doorway with stairs leading up. The street around the doorway was bloody with spatters here and there, and trails leading up to the stairs. She found it somewhat difficult to situate her feet on the narrow steps, but made it up them anyway without falling or stumbling. When she entered the apartment her eyes widened and her mouth fell open. It was a complete massacre. There was blood on the floors, walls, and even the ceiling, not to mention about every piece of furniture in there. That wasn’t the worst part, though. Rio fell against the wall when her eyes laid upon Axelle, who was eating the dead man’s flesh. Appalled, Rio gaped at the scene, ”What is she doing?!” Rio found herself backing away so quickly that she slipped in some blood and fell backwards with her bag landing on a spot that, thankfully, didn’t have much wet blood on it. Rio, however, managed to fall in a puddle and when she landed, sprayed blood on everything around her, including Kai. She cringed disgustedly, taking her attention off of Axelle for a moment to see what she had fallen in.

Hearing the bang behind her, Axelle stopped and turned around to see two black wolves in the doorway. Her hands and face were covered with blood and she was still chewing. She placed the knife on the floor next to her calmly, swallowed, and looked up at Kai innocently, ”Who’s that?” By now, the dead man barely had any meat left on his bones and there was a lot of bloodstained bone showing through. His whole chest and arm had been eaten, and if she wasn’t interrupted, Axelle might’ve finished the other arm off too; well, the parts that didn’t have glass in them. Maybe. Axelle’s eyes wandered from Kai’s surprised expression to the young female on the floor. She seemingly looked revolted, probably because she landed in entrails. She had a bag with her that flew to the side as she fell, and Axelle eyed that too. Then she tried to get up, using her hands and knees again. She managed to get to her knees, but when she tried to stand, she fell to them again. She moaned – her wounds hurt, and even though most of them had clotted, the one on her chest – the scar that he retraced – was still dripping, and the one on her black hand had been too. Maybe because she was busy and she had torn it back open. Whatever.

Rio looked scared now as she realized what she landed in and, Axelle guessed, what she had seen her doing when she walked in. Rio stood, wiping pieces of guts off of her sleek black fur, snorting and gagging a bit as she picked them off. Then she squeaked along the floor and retrieved her bag. She returned to the place next to Kai and leaned in towards him, ”She’s not going to eat me, too, is she?” She looked a little worried, and kept an accusing eye on Axelle.

Kai had glanced back over his shoulder to Axelle as she lay on the bed of the apartment, and smiled just a little to himself as he heard the female snore softly, her breaths calm and steady. He had been concerned that if sleep took her, she wouldn't wake up, but for now at least, it seemed restful. Loping from the apartment, well aware of how covered in blood he was, he was thankful for the dark tone of his pelt, disguising his bloody form at least from a distance. The powerful coppery smell of the attackers blood faded as his distance from the apartment grew and his sense of smell became more useful as he was able to pick up more than blood.

He didn't know where Rio might be or where she lived. The only place he had ever seen her was around a few shops, when he had dived onto her bird. Perhaps that was a good location to start with, and so after about twenty minutes of running, he made it to the place he recognized. His eyes trailed over the shop fronts, peering in through the windows but seeing nothing move within. Sniffing along the bench Rio had lounged on during their first and last meeting, Kai tried to see if her scent was around, but he couldn't pick up anything tangiable. With a snort, he wondered if maybe he should head back to Axelle, if maybe looking for Rio was a waste of time. Perhaps it would be better if he simply carried her the way back to Anathema. His female's wounds seemed fairly shallow for the most part but she had lost a lot of blood, she was weak. Panic began to bubble up within him, and he decided to head back to the apartment where he had left her.

It was only the snort of a nearby animal that caught his attention, and as his head turned, his muzzle lifted and he began sniffing the air. Padding closer, Malakai's luck improved vastly as he caught sight of the black female he had been looking for, not far from a horse. While relief washed over him at finding Rio, still the worry and concern was etched upon his features. He told Rio about Axelle, about her injuries, asking if she would help him. He feared she wouldn't - why would she? On their first meeting, Kai had injured her bird-friend's wing, insulted her, scared her and been generally awful to be around. But by some miracle, she agreed to help.

Horses were not his favourite animal, mainly because they were so unpredictable in his experience and could do some serious injury with a swift kick, but Rio suggested they ride the horse to the apartment. Kai agreed, simply because it would be quicker, and in his Optime form, he reluctantly climbed aboard the creature, holding onto the saddle tightly and was thankful when the beast brought them safely to the building. Kai could see a few splatters of blood outside, but as he hopped down after Rio, he lead the way inside, past the door he had had to break down to gain access.

Making quick work of the stairs despite how slippery they were, Kai skidded a little at the top as he was faced with the scene before him - Axelle was no longer in bed where he had left her to rest. Instead, she was chewing hungrily on chunks of meat taken from what was left of the male. At first, he was simply surprised - Kai had thought it was a push for her to eat the heart he had given her, never mind devouring wolf meat. But his surprised look faded quickly, as his snout broke in a slow smile. As Rio slipped on the blood, Kai barely even glanced in the black female's direction. Seeing Axelle gulp down the meat of her attacker was probably one of the finest sights he had ever seen, and for some reason, his chest swelled with pride. Oh, she was so perfect for him... Most would feel sick at the mere thought of it, of watching it, but Kai couldn't tear his eyes away from the sight.

Kai made his way over to Axelle's side, crouching down to brush his fingers against her cheek lightly, offering her an approving gaze. "What does it look like she's doing?" He spoke to Rio as she lifted herself from her butt, his eyes remaining fixed upon his female. As Axelle started to climb to her feet, Kai let her try to stand, seeing as she had a little more energy now, but when she fell back to her knees, Kai shuffled just a little bit closer to her, his arm moving to rub up and down her back comfortingly. "This is the someone I told you about, she might be able to help with your wounds, Beautiful." And he meant that term - she was injured and caked in both her own and this male's blood but she had never looked so appealing to him. If she hadn't have been hurt, he probably would have taken her there and then, in amongst all that blood and destruction. But for now, his only concern was getting her well again. He glanced back to Rio with a chuckle. "No, she's not gonna eat you, Rio. You're quite safe." His arms once more wrapped around Axelle, and he stood, sweeping her up in his embrace, lifting her to carry Axelle back to the bed he had left her on, letting her lie there, away from the blood and mess, for Rio's sake more than anything. Kai glanced back to Rio and motioned for her to simply step past the remains of the male to escape the death and blood. "Come in here, it's cleaner. Please, anything you can do to help her wounds would be appreciated." Malakai remained at Axelle's side, his hand raising to rest gently against her forehead, letting his fingers brush against her soothingly, unwilling to leave her side again just yet.

Still tried not to PP too much ... ! [Words: 943 :: Points: 7]

Axelle allowed Kai to pick her up just as a child might. Her eyes followed the young black female until her sight was interrupted by a wall. She was placed back down on the bed in a laying position, and this time she stayed. She wasn’t hungry anymore and she seemingly filled her blood lust. Rio followed the two carefully, trying to avoid the wettest of the puddles, but stepping on a few abdomen pieces anyway. As they stepped into the wood floored bedroom, it was a lot more pleasant. It smelled better for the most part, but it was cleaner and less chaotic. Rio didn’t have to watch where she stepped in there, except for by the door where the blood was leaking in.

The black furred Halifaxian set her bag on the night stand and began rummaging through it. She needed water, and she turned to Kai. ”If there was someone living here before, I’m pretty sure there’s a bath tub filled with water. Go and see, and fill up this bucket,” she handed him a small bucket that was produced from her bag, ”And wet these cloths.” She handed him a few soft rags, also from her bag. Then she turned to her bag again and began taking out bottles of gel and oils. She took out a needle and thread, but the thread was thicker – more like what humans used to stitch their own bodies, not for clothes. Stitches were an advanced thing to do, in which she wasn’t too experienced in, but if the female needed in that bad – she would try her best. There was no way she could learn if she’s good at something without trying it first, although she didn’t think of the injured Marbas as a test subject. She took her skill very seriously. Rio laid out a few more things on the night stand, threw her bag on the floor in the corner – away from any blood – and kneeled on the floor.

Assuming that Kai went to get her water to clean the female up; she took the bottle off of the nightstand. Vodka was written on the label for anyone with reading ability, but it wasn’t for drinking. Rio tipped the liquid slowly over Axelle’s wounds. She started with the smaller ones first and then moved toward the bigger ones, giving those a little more liquid.

Axelle winced and almost cried out from the ripping pain of the disinfectant. She knew it was doing her good, fighting infection and whatnot, but it hurt so much. Axelle was normally a trooper, but she wasn’t made of steel. She lightly whimpered, but Rio didn’t give her any sympathy. She continued the alcohol process, and even though alcohol wasn’t the best antiseptic – there really wasn’t much else available for the wolves. She hadn’t encountered a human hospital that she could take supplies from since she arrived back. She wasn’t sure if there even was one around. When Rio was done, she blotted the blood away from the moist wounds on Axelle’s chest and neck. Then she moved to her black arm and did the same there. She threw the rags back on the nightstand, now doubled as her workstation, and took out the Aloe gel.

The gel was meant to speed up the healing process of any cut or scrape – in this case, cut. She carefully spread a good amount of it over each bloody hole. Then she capped the jar and took the bandages off of the table, and the medical tape, in which she found in the medicine cabinet of her home. It was a strong tape that was good for keeping the gauze together. Rio carefully wrapped the wounds on Axelle’s arm with the gauze and taped it together. The setup should hold for a few days, and a few days was all it needed to scab up. Then she moved to the slice in Axelle’s neck, and did the same for that. She didn’t wrap the bandage around her neck, though, instead she gave the wound a big enough piece and taped it to her fur as tight as she could. While getting another piece of bandage for her chest wound, Rio looked at Axelle while she carefully patted down the neck bandage she just put. ”This’ll probably feel a little weird, but keep it on anyway. Don’t remove it until three days pass. It’ll help the wound heal faster, and trust me you’ll start to feel better quicker. Don’t move around too much.” The Angela’s daughter continued to bandage Axelle’s last wound, doing the same with her chest wound. She placed a small piece of gauze on the gash on Axelle’s head, right above her eye. She swabbed a little gel there, forgetting to before, and placed the small piece of bandage there.

By now, Kai had already come back from his bathroom duties and placed the bucket on the floor next to Rio, and the cloths on the nightstand. When Rio was finished bandaging the Marbas’ head, she moved over to the bucket. She stood, took a rag, and shoved it into the bucket of water. Then she sat carefully on top of Axelle and began scrubbing the female’s body where there weren’t bandages or cuts. She motioned Kai to join her. ”Just try to clean her fur since she can’t bathe until her wounds close.” She knew the female didn’t want to wear all the blood for three days more. Axelle lay there motionless. She appreciated everything that was done, and she really didn’t want to move at all. It was also great because she didn’t have to.

As Axelle lay there, Kai smiled down to her as if urging her to stay put, as if she would struggle to be on her feet once more. But she seemed fairly content laying down once more. The males eyes angled to watch Rio as she carefully stepped it, seeming to be a little more at ease in the cleanest room in the place. At the females orders, Malakai nodded firmly to her instruction and did as he was told - a rare occurance in itself. Heading past Rio, he took the bucket and cloths she offered and headed out of the door, not caring what he stepped in. He was just as covered in blood as Axelle was, if not more so. Glancing left then right, he worked out the layout of the apartment and headed into the bathroom to fetch a pale of water. Finding that Rio had been right in her guess, Malakai bent and lowered the bucket into the water, filling it, before dropping the cloths in the water, too, letting the material fall into the bucket submerged, before hoisting it out once more.

Carrying the dripping bucket back through towards the bedroom, Kai glanced down at the remains of the attacker and smirked. There wasn't much recogizable of him left now, not after both he and Axelle had torn him open and devoured parts of his meat. Heading through to the bedroom once more, he saw Rio applying some sort of ointment to her wounds to help them heal, presumably. He set the water on the floor and cloths down on the side table before moving at once to Axelle's side, his fingertips playing through her hair, more to comfort him than her. He glanced to Rio as he was handed a wet cloth and did as he was told once more, beginning to rub down his mate slowly and carefully, careful to avoid the wounds or coverings. However, glancing to Rio briefly to make sure she wasn't watching him, Kai's eyes moved to find Axelle, offering her a mischevious smirk, wiggling his eyebrows a little suggestively as if to let her know that if it were up to him, he would be the one giving her a bath, and it would be a lot more fun that this was. He would happily lap her clean. His tongue flicked out briefly to lick his muzzle, hiding his grin from Rio, before returning his concentration to the task at hand.

"Rio, thank you for coming to do this, to make sure she's alright. I paniced when I saw all the blood and stuff, and she seemed so weak... Your name came to mind. I'm so glad you were in the area. I owe you one. A big one." Kai offered a brief nod to her, this time more of submission - the Angela's daughter had done him a huge favour, and he wouldn't forget it. The favour would be returned one day, she need only call on him when she needed him for anything. His gaze swept over Axelle, glad that having a decent meal in her belly gave her a little extra energy. "She hasn't been mine for very long, but I would be lost without her now." It was true - however, in such a short space of time, Kai had fallen for the two-toned female. She was his, and he wouldn't be without her now. He had such plans for them both.

Ok Smile [Words:798 :: Points: 7]

Axelle smiled up at Kai, feeling Rio busily scrubbing at her dirty fur. She knew Kai would have preferred washing her himself, but she was happy Rio was doing it. She felt safer at the hands of the healer, not that Kai was dangerous though. It was just that he was inexperienced when it came to medicine and healing and more experienced in killing and torturing. He wasn’t someone she wanted to leave her wounds in the hands of. Her bi-colored eyes looked up at his as she watched him play around with her, but they fell soon as she felt the black-furred healer cease.

Rio had gotten all the spots that she could. The only dirty areas left were those around the bandages, and she didn’t want to disrupt the healing process. Axelle needed to keep those bandages on for as long as possible and adding water to them wouldn’t help. Rio huffed and climbed carefully off of the Marbas, more successful than when she climbed off of her horse. At least there wasn’t any saddle to fall off of on Axelle. She dipped her maw to the two – after all, they were a higher rank than she. Even though she wasn’t in the pack, she still respected her fellow pack mates of Anathema. ”It was no problem at all. Really.” She turned to start putting her things away. She grabbed the thread and needle first; she was a little relieved that she didn’t have to practice that on Axelle. She’d rather stitch the female when she had more experience with it. Then she took more of the rags and shoved them in there as well, following the bottle of Vodka that was now less than half full. When she was done packing her things away, she turned to them again. ”It was a pleasure to meet you, Axelle, finally. My mother had mentioned you a few times, saying that you were a good friend to her. A good friend to her is a good friend to me, even though we don’t always see eye to eye. Whenever you need something, you can always come to me. No matter the situation.” Axelle found herself smiling and nodding. There really wasn’t much she could say to that, other than agree. Rio rested her gaze on Malakai and smiled, ”And I’ll be finding you when I need the favor returned.” She eyed him for a second, her eyes friendlier than they probably should have been. Then she turned from the two and headed for the door.

Getting down the narrow steps was even harder than getting up them. There was no door to the apartment so there was nothing to close behind her. The blood smell followed her and lingered down the narrow hallway and out the front door, which was also non-existent. That door, however, looked as if it were ripped off of the hinges by an opposing force. When she safely got down the stairs and stepped outside, she realized it had been. The door lay in the street in a bunch of small splintery pieces. She decided not to go near it, and walked around the block. She was happy she didn’t have to howl for Vitalia. The horse had found a patch of grass and was happily chewing away at it. She raised her head as she saw Rio coming towards her. Rio climbed atop the saddle, and the two took off towards home.

Upstairs, Axelle laid on the bed. Her eyes felt tired and heavy from their long day. And to think: they were only coming to Halifax for a ‘few’ things. They got more than what they bargained for with this trip, but she didn’t mind. She was always bound to run into some kind of trouble – it had always happened that way. Harlowe, Kemo, and now this brute. He didn’t have a name to label him with, and she secretly wished she did. He would be known as the Gray man from Halifax, forever. Axelle snuggled up against Kai, trying not to move and disrupt her bandages. She inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. ”You know we’ll have to stay somewhere nearby for a while until I can remove these, right?” She thought about it – they couldn’t stay here. The blood smell was too strong; so strong it might give her another blood lust – and then how would she cure it? There was no way she could hunt like this and she didn’t even know where one would even find anything worth eating around here. Kai would have to travel a bit out of town to find them dinner. ”If we do stay here though, not here. Let’s find a different house. The smells are starting to get to me.” Which they were.

Kai continued to wipe down his female, being sure to give the areas with bandages a miss. He stuck to the safer areas where he wasn't likely to do more damage than good. He was more the 'do damage' type. Once Axelle was as clean as they could get her with the rags, Kai handed his back over to Rio, ensuring he kept close to Axelle, before he offered Rio a soft nod. She had done them both a huge favour by coming to tend to Axelle's wounds, and Kai was thankful for it. She had had every right to ignore his pleas for help, to simply laugh off his worries given how he had treated her when they first met. When Rio mentioned getting in touch when she wanted the favour returned, Kai again nodded, but kept it bowed as if giving his word to her that he would help no matter what the situation.

His eyes followed the black female as she left cautiously down the blood-stained stairs before his full attention shifted back to his mate on the bed. He climbed up onto the bed somewhat, with half his body on the bed, the other leg on the floor still, leaning on the bed more than lying on it. But it was enough to let Axelle snuggle into his form, which he gladly returned, his arm sliding behind her head a little, careful not to catch her wounds. Kai glanced down to her as she spoke of needing to stay around here until she was healed, and he nodded slowly with a smile. He repeated the process when she mentioned she didn't want to stay at this apartment. He understood - the scent of blood still hung heavily on the air. "Yeah, I know. I've already resigned myself for a few nights away from Anathema. I was hesitant about walking all that way carrying you. I mean, my poor arms can only carry so much weight, you know?" His eyes sparked playfully, fire burning brightly in them. "As for another apartment, that shouldn't be a problem. There are plenty to choose from in this place."

Twisting his body a little, his head bowed and he nuzzled his snout against hers, inhaling her scent deeply. He was often quick to joke, to make light of the situation but seeing that male on top of her with that blade aimed at her had affected him more than he expected. In a quiet voice, he told her so. "I'm just glad you're alright... Or at least you will be once you heal. I don't think I've ever been that terrified in all my life, when I saw him on you." It sounded like a guilty confession, that he shouldn't feel such fear, not one as skilled as he was in causing pain and death.

His arm once more snaked beneath her knees and he scooped her up carefully in his arms, lifting her from the bed before turning and heading to the stairs. Taking his steps cautiously to as not to slip on the blood, he carried his female down from the massacre upstairs and out into the fresh air of the street. He looked left and right and then headed to the left to find somewhere clean to rest.

It didn't take too long, and after asking Axelle if it looked alright, Kai tried the door to see if it was unlocked. With some luck, it was, and heading inside, Kai quickly found a bed to lie Axelle on and settled there with her, next to her, his arms quickly wrapping back around her, taking comfort in her presence, in her body. "This suitable for Your Majesty?" His mischevious grin began to show a little more now.

As she laid there on the bed, while hearing his snide comment her eyes narrowed and she showed a warning fang. She couldn’t do anything to him now, but she wouldn’t let him get too far on it. Once she was healed enough, she would have her revenge. ”I’m not heavy.” She said this with slitted eyes. Though, she could have been possibly heavy because of all the muscle weight she put on in the last few months.

She found that she didn’t have much time to ponder the thought as she felt him scoop her up again. Apparently her other request was being ‘processed’ as they headed down the narrow, carpeted stairs of the hallway. She couldn’t imagine Kai getting down them without falling if they didn’t have some kind of traction on them. Luckily for Rio, they did, as she noticed how the black female had enough trouble not slipping on the intestines littered around on the floor in the apartment.

The clean air hit her like a cleansing wave of river water. It cleared all of her dark thoughts almost immediately and brought her mind back to Earth. Before she could really realize what exactly was on her mind, Kai took her up another set of stairs into another, cleaner apartment complete with a new bed she soon became very acquainted with. As soon as he put her on the bed, she had the instant urge to sleep. Her eyes suddenly felt heavy and although she couldn’t ‘snuggle’ too well, she covered herself with the blanket that was there and nestled into Kai as well. ”Yes…” She was so overcome by sleep that she couldn’t even argue to his smart remarks toward her. That was fine. He would always have something smart to say because that was who he was. She found herself slowly drifting into the nothingness of sleep… in the arms of her knight.

WC:411+ - OOC Sounds good to me, Points - 3. END

Making himself more than comfortable on the new bed, Malakai felt a little more at ease without the heavy scent of blood lingering on the air. The mess would probably remain in the apartment until someone decided to clean it up, but Kai couldn't care less. As long as Axelle was alright, he didn't care about the bloody apartment. As he glanced down to the female as she snuggled into his body, a smile drifted over his muzzle and his arms slid around her, pulling her just that little closer against his form, keeping her safe, protectively. As he watched her eyelids close and the rhythm of her breathing to slow, the tell tale sign that she was asleep, Kai took in her features, and noticed how much they had different from the terrified, frightened, skittish female he had seen attacked. Thinking about the scene that had awaited him, seeing that male on top of her, gave him shivers and he knew right then and there that he had to protect her, at any cost. Because he knew he couldn't stand to lose her from his life now.

As he watched her sleep, the realization of exactly how much of an impact she had had on him in such a short space of time amazed him. She had this ability that no-one else did - one word, one touch, even one huff of her breath was enough to calm him when he felt rage or terror, but at the same time, it was enough to stoke the fire in him that burned for her. She had such power over him, and it wasn't something he was used to, and it was something he had always faught against, allowing someone that close. But now that it had snuck its way into his life, it wasn't as bad as he had imagined.

Letting his hand drift up and down her arm calmly, he sat in his own world, simply watching her. He had heard it said somewhere that the true sign of love was being able to simply watch someone sleep for hours, fascinated in the smallest of movements, the barest flicker of an eye, the smallest twitch of a mouth. Kai continued to watch Axelle in his arms for the duration of the night, and as the sun rose the next morning, she remained curled up in his arms, Kai's eyes finally closed to allow sleep to claim him as it had claimed her.
