Each movement brought a pleasant ripple of pain from the wounds and scars he had no memory of inflicting. He lowered himself to the ground beneath a tree, breath rising in a pale plume of frozen air around his muzzle as he reached out for a pale object half-buried in leaves. It was a w.olf's skull painted and hung from a tree, but had fallen at some point and been forgotten. Claws traced across the bleached bone, pondering idly on the story behind this fallen creature. And yet he smiled. He smiled because he knew this object held a history, and because he knew it wasn't just an object to disregard like a twig or stone. It had once lived and breathed and moved just like him, and yet he was still moving and this being had fallen.

Perhaps his mother had killed it, perhaps when she was Queen and had ruled these lands. His expression faded, dropping the skull and dragging a claw across a scab on his forearm. Oh, how he longed for her touch, her warm embrace as she held him close. How he longed for more than she had even given him, or been capable of giving him, for her nature wasn't quite like his despite her twisted darkness. Her abandonment was a swift kick in the stomach, and he'd yet to recover.

The night was cold, with dawn soon to arrive, but Samael had long since given up on sleep. Days ago, really. It was a suffocating thought, like drowning, to allow darkness to wash over him so completely, and he preferred to be awake and lucid, for there were those who'd kill him. Madness and delirium clouded his thoughts, and he saw devils everywhere, whispering and hissing things all around him. But he just smiled right back, for he wasn't through with this world just yet. And it wasn't his time to allow them to take him.

Aquilina moved only on two feet tonight, she wanted to test her balance without her front paws, something she did almost everyday. It was quite impressive to her, how one could mutate into something more than how she was created. Both, her mother and father had luperci pulsing through their blood. Her siblings and herself all ran around as how humans once did. Those creatures were now forever gone now, none in sight. Even though her parents hated it, it wasn't so much Aquilina that liked it, but Estella rather. Oh, that stupid bitch, how fast she'd control Aquilina just for the fun and feel, how much she loved to be in charge. No matter how much she tried to stop Estella from showing, it was too hard, Estella was too strong her her average sized dog body.

One.

Two.

Three.

Heart pulsing.

Every step felt like hollow noises in her ears. If she shut her left eye, it would be like both eyes shut for anyone else. She wouldn't be able to see anything, maybe if she wasn't blind in her right eye it would be different. Estella made her blind, but could she really blame Estella for everything? Estella this, Estella that... why couldn't she take the blame for anything she did? Just because she had another personality that chose a different name, didn't mean she could really blame her. Aquilina felt like hitting herself, Estella didn't even exist and she called Estella she as if she existed. Aquil shook her head and continued on her way to basically no where in particular.

Pulling a piece of bark of the tree, she then snapped it in half as she was walking. Nothing to fucking do. We must start meeting people around here. Besides that lady Faolin, we must meet the whole the Land of Wuffluvers pack. once again, with the 'We's' and no the 'I's'. How stupid of herself. That was her weak spot, thinking of Estella and Aquilina as one dog not just two personalities.

Scents quickly added on and she could smell someone else, a smile crept upon her face. She sniffed around till she found the scents rightful owner, just a boy sitting under a tree. Well of course, he didn't look much younger than herself but he at least looked a year or so. However, it was really hard to tell in the amazing dark, funny how that happens when the Loony Luna creeps behind the Le Soleil in Teh Sky. "Hello, boy." Estella managed to come up with even though Aquilina attempted a force upon Estella's actions. "Kind of late, shouldn't you be sleeping. Or early, I could say.." The fight between personalities began, for now though, Aquilina gave up and let Estella do the talking for now.

The shadows shifted; the voices changing as shapes writhed and twisted around him. They whispered animatedly in his ear, clicking teeth until gaze shifted and rose. The forest was quiet, and for a moment he thought they were simply seeking to bother him, as wasn't uncommon, until another voice spoke out. He drown it out, mistaking it to be simply another ghost, but this one held a shape and form as it materialized out of the darkness.

She called him boy. And moved forward with a confidence that told him she was no trespasser to the Land of Wuffluvers. But Samael could hardly keep track of those who came and went from the seaside clan, and thus she was just another ghost to him. "Sleeping?" he inquired lightly, a faint look crossing his delicate features as though in confusion about such an idea. But his expression changed, smiling with a serpentine smile toward the stranger. "Sleep is not a particular hobby of mine. Who are you anyway?"

Aquilina looked down at the _coyote, trying to see him better. Sleep, she liked it, but she barely slept... especially after her little incident. The wind was cool, keeping it easier to handle the pressure of wanting to call herself Estella, but he was obviously from _Inferni, so she had to say her real name, "Aquilina, who she is also not a fan of sleep." she claimed in her third person sort of way, "It brings too many of my demons to memory." The chick was crazy, of course so she had plenty of demons in her life. Quietly, she sat beside him, still a few feet away. "I suppose I could ask you the same question, who might you be? I'm sorta new here." She was questioning to herself what his demons were. This is how Aquilina looked at it, if sleep wasn't one of your hobbies you were either crazy, like herself, or you had your reasoning. Sleep is an oh'natural thing, everyone does it.

Looking up, the _moon was shinning down. Why did the _sun hide behind the _moon? It was because, if anyone read a book in their life, they'd know what it is. Aquilina could sit there for hours and read upon how the humans lived, what they believed in and such on. The _sun-centered model was created after they found out that the Earth wasn't the center and that Earth orbited around the _sun, not the other way around. Those stupid humans though, they were going to kill the planet because of their filthy ways, Global Warming was right on ahead, making it horrible for anyone to live in. Aquilina thought of warm winters and cold summers, she'd die without her nice little swim in the warm crisp air, thanks to the _sun.

Her voice was strange; her manner of speaking to be considered something peculiar. But it hardly bothered the boy, for by now he was quite accustomed to madness. He merely continued to observe the female with the faintest amusement still tingeing his features. Arrogance held him above caring about her circumstances, and the changing, unstable hierarchy of the Land of Wuffluvers kept him from bothering to want to get to know her. She spoke of demons. But everyone had their demons; some simply worse than others. Just in his case, they had become almost literal, haunting and pressing as the inbreed insanity twisted further through his senses.

"Samael," he said, providing his name at her inquiry. He didn't bother with his surname; much of the Land of Wuffluvers was somehow related -- or they had been before when under Kaena's rule, and he'd grown accustomed to such. But things were changing every day and their numbers were dwindling. The once strong clan able to overthrow a pack of wolves was falling apart and shrinking in size to merely a few members and a few bastard children of the former Queen.
