Big Grin I suck, ;n; 240 words

The Princess had been a bit ruffled after her father's reappearance to the Court, having expected him home well and as he usually was. With his hair gone and those weird marks all over, it seemed someone had changed him on the outside and sent him back. It was terrifying, all the mysteries of the world coming back to the small child, every single question in her mind going unanswered. Yet, she kept her chops shut. Niro was still the same, the same beloved individual she adored. It was the right thing to refrain from shying away, from hiding from whom she found to be the most wonderful. But what had happened? How did Daddy get so hurt?

That morning, Tasha had woken to see her family quietly sleeping, her little maw opening in a wide yawn. "Erhm." The Takekuro grunted, wriggling out from beside her brother. Once happily free, Tasha scampered over to her father, a hushed cry on her lips as she snuggled up to the light-toned wolf. "Daddy! Le's go esplorin tha castle, huh Daddy?" Wide jade eyes pleaded hopefully, wishing so much that he'd take her somewhere. Maybe to Auntie Orin's, or just plain old anyplace. Small cream paws softly patted at his body, taking the quiet pleading to another level. "I loves you Daddy." The girl stated, moving her muzzle to kiss his nose. If he agreed to hang with her or not, that couldn't be changed.

WC: 371 OOC: Any parent knows they have a favorite.... >Big Grin

He was sleeping in the bed he was given in the hotel room and his family took refuge there too, apparently not wanting to leave him and it brought joy to his heart knowing they wanted to be with him. He could only sleep in short bursts as the pain in his shoulder and foot hurt terribly. His face was in pain but it was nothing compared to those who’s muscles and tendons had been ripped apart. So when The girl moved up to his bed and started asking him to go exploring he turned his sad eyes on her and gave her a look of sad hopefulness.

“Oh baby, I’m sorry but daddy can’t walk right now. “

He said apologetically and smiled at her and touched his nose to hers, though leaning over didn’t help him, but he cared little this was his daughter and nothing would keep him from her not even pain of death. He patted so she would come closer.

“Come here sweetie, how about I tell you some stories instead, like himm the wolf and the castle?”

He asked, of course he made them up for his sister or vice versa he didn’t know but he had a few tales that he was sure his daughter would enjoy. He knew she wanted to go out and play but it was best to let the other two sleep before asking about it.

“I think you will like it and maybe then when your mother gets up you’ll have the story fresh in your mind and explore the castle with her.”

He said poking at her little nose on the uniquly colored wolf dog. So far of all his puppies the colors of their coats had all varied, the closest ones were Heiro and Poppy except for the colors of their pelts and it was funny because they were only half sibling. No Tasha, besides Maggie had the look of her wolf parantage and the color was a smoky brown grey color that he adored. Though he wouldn’t tell anyone this she was fast becoming the favorite of his children. Though he loved them all dearly.

Big Grin

The little child was fast becoming comfortable with her father, steadily but quickly nestling into his body, trying as hard as she could to not harm him in the process. A tiny burst of fear for her father caught in her throat as he explained that he couldn't walk, forgetting about the adventure she wanted planned. Daddy was hurt, would he be alright soon? The tiny tongue of the girl lashed out gently, apologetically for her blindness to his condition. "Daddy...Aw you gonna be okay soon?" Glancing up, the wolfdog puppy flopped her tail softly against the bed, hoping her favorite person in the world would be healthy soon. What would she do if he wasn't? How would the Takekuro puppy manage? Life without her father would be so horrible, too terrifying to think of...

The sandy-furred hybrid settled into his side, peering up curiously as Niro spoke, green eyes wide with wonder. A story? That was just as good as exploring, having the words take her to other worlds as they came out of the mouth of the speaker. Tash loved stories, and did she show that with her tail! "Yeah Daddy! Tell the story!" Tasha tried so desperately to keep her voice down, but Daddy-dearest was one of the best storytellers she knew. The Princess felt so lucky to live where they did, the Chien Hotel was just like a castle a real princess would live in, what stories would other individuals have? "Is the castle like this one? What's the woof's name?"

It had always been hard to pick a favorite between her family, having felt guilty for not being as easygoing with her mother as with Niro. Sure, Tash loved Amaranth, thinking her one of the most beautiful people she knew. But Dad had stories and birds, which seemed just the slightest more special.

So the girl lay down beside her dad, ears cocked to listen to the story.

Word Count :: 473OOC: enjoy the story I JUST made up XDDD

“I will be soon sweety don’t you worry about me. Soon I’ll be running around and teaching you and Heiro how to hunt.”

He said in his best reassuring voice. He could see her sadness and it made his heart go out to the poor girl. He made himself more comfortable as she got excited about a story and he grinned. She got so excited that he was glad his own injuries would be momentarily forgotten.

“Actually, it was in a much bigger castle with lots of towers and places to hide. Because you see, this wolf princess, she loved to hide. So she would always play hide and seek with her brother, who would always fail to find her. There were so many hiding spots. He would always say “Give up!” after he couldn’t find her. Well one day she was hiding in the best, and her most favorite spot and her brother looked and looked for her, but before he could say “give up” He got distracted. He went off to do the far more fun thing and the girl waited and waited to hear him say give up for she knew he had to. It was the rules, well many hours went by and then days. She was still in her hiding spot still waiting for her brother and it seemed he forgot her. Finally years after she hid from her brother she let herself leave her hiding spot and when she saw him, a full grown wolf, the king of the castle she asked him ‘Why didn’t you give up brother?’ She was angry with him and he turned to her in surprise and said ‘You are alive, but sister we could not find you and you never came out we were so worried we thought one of our enemies took you. Why did you not leave your hiding spot until now?’ She did not say anything but was sad, for she lost many years of her life because she felt her brother did not do her a kindess for he was suppose to say those words. But when she thought about it, she knew that it was only a game, and she couldn’t let her pride take over her life, for that is what it did. From then on she was a humble wolf who did things for others and did not let her pride in her own skills show.”

He said. It was a tale that had a meaning to it, but it wasn’t one of those ones that Orin read that were fairy tales where the princes finds a prince and lived happily ever after, of course he could say that, but it wasn’t a part of the story and would not fit in like that.
