Alastar's Profile Log

Appearance

Alastar is a rambunctious, headstrong pup. Being unable to shift yet, her fur is simple black and white, giving way to her Siberian husky heritage. Her face and paws remain snow white, as does her chest and belly, all the way to the tip of her tail. Alastar is quite fluffy, her chest, shoulder, and cheek fur resembling a miniature mane on the young one. Her eyes are a soft golden brown.

For a female pup, and so young, Alastar's muscles are prominent. She loves to run and wrestle, and with the fluffy fur she looks like quite the ball of energy. You couldn't find this one with her chest not puffed out or her head held high, tail wagging dominantly or ears perked at attention.

Overall, Alastar's coat and build reflects her Siberian heritage, right down to her paws, quite literally. They are a bit bigger than an a simple domesticated dog's, and perhaps this is her inner Great Plains ancestry. Regardless, her larger paws assist in her running sport for traction and grip, but often times the clumsy little one will trip over them as if they are shoes she has yet to grow into. The same could be said about Alastar's tail. It is almost the length of her body now, and when she is bored, it is quite easy to catch in her jaws.

Her physical measurements are approximately twelve inches at the shoulder and twenty five pounds in weight. Body length, including the tail, is roughly sixteen inches.

Biography

Alastar grew restless and rebellious in her home. She had a brother and a sister, and her parents, a father Siberian husky and a Great Plains Wolf mother, seemed boring. Alastar was not permitted to hunt or explore as much as she would have liked to, so she got the bright idea to run away a few days after she turned two months old. The little one thought she knew enough about hunting to sustain herself, and after just a week on her own, she realized she might have made a mistake.

After that week of traveling southward along the coastline and not knowing at all how far she had traveled, Alastar unwittingly crossed into a mountain lion's territory. Were it not for a kind, gracious black bear in the vicinity, Alastar's story would have ended then and there. Mato, the bear, fought off the lion and he and Alastar shared the carcass's meat. Mato was, mentally, not much older than Alastar, though in size he dwarfed her. His voice was deep in his chest, and rumbled when he spoke, but it was full of jovial laughter. His mother had long since let Mato be on his own, and his father took off before Mato was even born. He had a sister, named Sia, but the two did not talk much. In truth, Mato had admitted he was lonely, and since the young pup had no friends or family to call her own, he was determined to at least give her a friend.

Often times, Mato and Alastar discussed their family. Mato saw his mother often since he left, but did not need her to show him the berries or the fishing grounds off shore. Alastar, to herself, regretted leaving her family behind, but knew that she was meant for something much greater than just life in a small pack. She was Luperci, she knew that much, and when she told Mato this, he shrugged. He had not known another wolf before, but his mother told him of the Luperci. Some were kind, intelligent, and willing to befriend bears. Others saw them as a nuisance, and bears were just another means of hunting for those Luperci. At that comment, Alastar scoffed. She promised she would always be Mato's, and his mother's, friend, no matter how big she got as a Luperci, or what her future pack was like.

As of now, the odd pair reside in a cave cut into the Wentworth Valley rocks. Mato shares his knowledge of the flora with young Alastar, at the same time teaching her to fish. Alastar herself practices catching smaller mammals, such as voles and chipmunks.

Personality

Alastar is a headstrong, think-before-she-acts kind of young one, but then again aren't they all? She is impatient, stubborn, loud, and definitely disobedient. She loves causing trouble to random critters in her new home, and while she misses her family to a degree, the ache caused in leaving them slowly fades each day. Mato is, in essence, her older brother, and though Alastar would not admit it, the pup respects him with all she is. She knows Luperci are special, but does not care to ponder the subject as she knows no other wolves in the vicinity, especially since her family is gone.

Though she does not care to share with Mato her thoughts, Alastar enjoys pondering her existence, and what she will do with her life. The thoughts of seriousness are fleeting, though she constantly boasts to Mato that one day she will head the greatest pack in all the universe. That boast is usually followed by a howl, albeit it high-pitched and squeaky, but she works on it.

As far as being alone as a wolf, Alastar does not mind. Mato is companionship enough, so she does not get lonely. And, of course, she is far too young to ponder mating. She's just a baby!
