24th Around midnight.

Keldava staggered blindly through the trees, whimpering whenever a particular movement would jolt her back, sending a wave of pain out from the deep wound carved into it by Amy’s blade. While Keldava couldn’t see the wound she could tell it was bad from the pain and the wet feeling on her back where blood had soaked into her fur. The rest of Keldava’s body hadn’t gotten off easy either with cuts ranging from small to fairly large spread all across her body, inflicted both by blade and claw and it seemed as though ny part of her body not cut was bruised to the girl. Most visible of her cuts was one large gash running down Keldava’s left arm, which was currently held limp at her side. She wasn’t a pretty sight to behold; a brief glance into a pond before her eye had swollen had shown Keldava a Luperci she barely recognised, fur matted and tinted red with blood all over. She hadn’t scrounged up the courage to try and look at her back, the constant burning told her she wouldn’t like what she saw.

Blinking Keldava tried to make out her surroundings, hoping that she had managed to go the right way. One of her eyes was swollen shut and the other hampered by a wide cut just above it, sending blood flowing down into the wound freely. Some of the surrounding scenery looked vaguely familiar but Keldava couldn’t concentrate enough through the pain to figure out where exactly it was from; the young girl hadn’t encountered a serious injury before in her life, having escaped from both violent encounters she had found so far with minor cuts and bruises.

She hoped it was Arte. The nights events had drained any inclination for wandering out of her and beyond the obvious need to get some help, Keldava just wanted to go home, curl up in her bed and never leave it again. She had never encountered anyone like Amy before, never seen anyone go from friendly to angry so fast, hurt her so much for no reason other than they could. When she had accepted the trade with Amy Keldava had never expected to be asked to do what Amy had asked of her; the girl had only been expecting to help the older woman out with hunting or something like that!

Somehow Keldava’s battered nose picked out the scent of the Arte border, the flowery smell weak under the scent of Keldava’s own blood coming from where her nose had been slashed. Eagerly she tried to start forwards, only to stumble and nearly fall when her balance suddenly disappeared, blood loss taking its toll at her attempt to move quickly. Whimpering Keldava half collapsed, her right leg dragging on the ground as she leant heavily on a tree. Desperately she tried to howl, hoping that somebody would still be awake and hear her but the sound was weak. She tried again, but all she could do was cough and whimper, clutching at tightly to the tree as she could and hoping that somebody would soon come along.

She should be sleeping, she was too far into her pregnancy to be wandering around at night time. And yet.. she couldn't sleep, couldn't relax. Not knowing that Keldava had never come home. Her eyes while tired were alert for any sign of her missing daughter, her senses tuned, waiting for footsteps in the distance of a howl announcing arrival. Her scion were usually very good at alerting her to when they would be away and to not expect them home. Keldava had done no such thing which equated to her worry now. Worry that would prove to be well founded.

When she had paced all she could and refused to do so any more she set off very slowly towards their borders. This was indeed very dangerous for herself and her unborns for any type of lowlife could be lurking about waiting for a chance to strike and gain themselves a prize or sick pleasure. But neither could she abandon Keldava to her fate, it tore at her, tearing her in two minds hence her slow progress. Her heart began to hammer quickly though as blood suffused the air, dread filled her up and she moved faster, as fast as she could move her cumbersome frame.

A broken cry left her as she finally sighted her daughter, battered and bleeding holding onto a tree with fading strength. Rage began to build up within her, this was twice now that her children had been attacked, she would see the causer dead except she was in no position or state to be fighting anyone. Just the rush towards Keldava left her gasping and feeling sick. She pushed herself up under Keldava's arm, trying to take the girl's weight upon her own unstable legs. Blood soaked through her fur, hot and sticky, and she was more alarmed to see just how much of it pooled on the ground. "Walk with me now." Her voice was strict, no nonsense, obey me. Would her daughter heed to the authority that reigned over her or would she crash to the ground taking her almost invalid mother with her. Knowing she would never be able to carry Keldava the entire way back to Thornberry she threw her head back and howled, the sound piercing away into the darkness, sharp and urgent, conveying the direness of the situation.

ooc things go here

The howl had come as a surprise to the male, who had been debating on a trip north to see his mother and brother...and his children. The book fell from his hand, startling the younger male who had been sketching on some homemade paper. The two Rhiannon males exchanged glances, then released a simultaneous howl as each grabbed a backpack full of supplies. Their journey to the howl was quick, though the son trailed behond the father as they arrived at the scene.

The blood was the first thing Tal noticed. The scent was hot and thick, and his heart began to race. Thankfully, he didn't smell Liam around, which was a relief. He lived in terror of that monster returning to terrorize the pack, the home he'd made for himself and Myrddin.

Questions were the last thing on his mind. First thing on his mind was helping the pregnant woman who was trying to support the wounded woman on her own. Jace and Keldava, his mind supplied. "Myrddin, get the other side. Jace, let me help you. Let me take her weight. Just make sure we don't get hit by lower tree branches as we go. I've got supplies here, but all the stuff we'll really need is at my place."

Tal was already going over his list of things he'd need mentally.

Keldava shrunk back against the tree as best she could, whining with fear, when a figure suddenly approached out of the gloom. Her ears lowered against her skull and tail tucked beneath her legs when a cry sounded out from the figure, trying to convince whoever it was to not attack her but something seemed off about the cry, leaving Keldava confused as well as scared.

Then suddenly the figure came close enough that even Keldava’s addled nose could tell who it was, Mahnaya! Letting out an odd mewling sound tinged with relief as her mother approached her, warm figure slipping under her arm and pressing against her body. The gash on her left arm and half a dozen other cuts down her side stung painfully but Keldava didn’t react other than a slight twitch, Mahnaya’s presence was worth the pain. Whining pathetically Keldava pressed her head into the crook of Mahnaya’s neck, seeking comfort from the familiar scent and fur. ”Hurts…” she whimpered, trying to adjust so her back was more comfortable.

Keldava’s ears flickered uncertainly when Mahnaya commanded her to move but she tried anyway, knowing well that she needed to get back inside the territory. At first it seemed to go alright, the rest having give her a little bit of strength back in her right leg, but then she moved a fraction wrong and suddenly her back felt like somebody was pressing a hot poker into it. Keldava’s scream of pain was lost as the world went black for a second.

When she came to she was half on the ground, right leg splayed out awkwardly once again and her arm around Mahnaya all that was keeping her upright. The pain in her back had gone down slightly, it still hurt like hell but not as much as before. Shakily Keldava tried to drag herself straight again, all to aware of Mahnaya’s weakness. ”Sorry.” she said quietly, only half picking up the howling coming from nearby.

Keldava was just about to give up and accept her place on the ground when a two white blurs moved into her sight, moving rapidly towards them. Time seemed to move quicker with her like this, her brain sluggish, and Keldava had only just opened her mouth to ask what was going on when she felt arms holding her, first supporting her free side and then plucking her off Mahnaya. The new figures were sturdy and strong and she vaguely heard one talking, but then they pulled her upwards.

What small amount of sense Keldava had fought for bled away into the abyss as the pain returned full force to her back with the awkward position she was held in, only this time there was no blackness to take it away. A scream ripped from her throat and Keldava started to thrash as best her weak body could, head seeking the comfort of Mahnaya’s fur and arms thankfully held in place. The movement tore her wounds ever wider but by this point Keldava could hardly feel the difference and had lost all reason beyond one basic instinct, the want for her mother.

Seeing her daughter so injured, so lost and so.. broken, defiled, desecrated. Fury laced her veins and boiled her blood leaving her mind frothing and fighting inside in a body that was close to useless, all of its resources used up to nurture the lives she grew within. That she caused Keldava even more pain while trying to help her made her anger worsen. She wish it weren't so. "I know... I know it does. But you must be strong. Walk with me now." She repeated her words, stronger, trying to inject some steel into it, certain that if she could remain strong herself then Keldava would make the effort to follow her lead.

She retained her belief right up until Keldava stepped down wrong and her leg twisted underneath her. The scream was deafening and straight into her ear, the sound resonating through her skull. And then Keldava listed to the side, appearing to have lost consciousness. Her weight was heavy, too heavy and Jace felt her grip beginning to weaken, her legs buckling underneath her as she gritted her teeth, true panic beginning to set in, if she fell they would both die here,

"Keldava! Wake up! Wake UP! I can't carry us both!" Her words were a desperate call, and the woman herself whimpered as pain began to stretch through her lower back and her stomach, she staggered sideways and only just retained her balance, claws scrabbling into the dirt for purchase. Keldava moved and tried to right herself upon the leg that wouldn't worth, and Jace moaned in distress and pain, even fear.

Then their cavalry arrived, dressed in the apparel of two men in white. Taliesin and his son, Myrddin. Her aching muscled screamed from the effort of holding out a few seconds longer as Myr and Tal took her daughter's increasingly heavy weight from her. Her paws shook and she leaned heavily on her cane panting desperately. The fresh scream sent her back into action and she hobbled behind the trio, placing her hand on Keldava's cheek,

"Calm yourself and stop resisting! These men are here to help us." Her voice was razor sharp so as to cut through Keldava's pain and depravity,

((Gonna pp a bit to get her there. If that's not okay, let me know, and I'll come fix it. ^^ ))

He looked thankfully at the woman who gave her daughter a firm order. Keldava's thrashing was making it hard to move, but the two males began the trek. He wasn't sure if it was Jace's presence or if it was bloodloss from the exertion widened wounds, but Keldava had fallen silent for now. The trip was either agonizingly slow or unbearably quick, in his concern for his injured packmate and her mother, the pale healer wasn't sure.

They arrived, and the two males pulled her over the threshold, getting her into the spare room. He glanced at his son. "The astringent salve, and start some water heating. Jace, I have some clean cloths out on the shelves in the kitchen. Mind getting them?" As supplies were handed to him, he began by using lightly salted water to wash her wounds. It would hurt, yes, but it would keep them and get them clean.

He began pouring the lightly heated water over her wounds. Realizing she would thrash, he looked to Myrddin and Jace. "Can you help hold her, Jace? If not, we'll need someone else in here. Skye will need to be told, anyway. Do you know what happened to her?" Yes, it was clear to the overseer that Keldava had been attacked, the male just didn't know by whom.
