His small 'vacation', as he might have called it, in the forest had done him well. By the time he had returned to his Halifax library home, he felt happier, a bit livelier - the colors, the sounds, the scents that he did not experience in the stone cold city had enchanted him once more. But he loved his city home as well - plenty of shadows to hide in, prey to hunt, and not to mention his precious books as well.
He sat outside the library now, enjoying the daylight while it was still out. He had encountered many a strange canine outside the city, and he wondered how they all came to live so close to one another in packs like they did - he surely would have gone insane if he had to live so close to so many slobbering, sloppy, hyper canines. He was simply not a pack animal.
But this was nice, back in his home. He did not get nearly as many visitors as he stumbled across in the forests, but he did not mind that - he did not mind the occasional happenstance, either, he thought as he licked his paw once, drawing it over his face.
