wooooo awkkwardnesssss . Insert date this thread is forward-dated to here.

Since Wretch had been accepted into Vinatta’s wide open arms, the Hollr had been dying to see her again. He of course let her have some time to settle in and adjust to pack life after what seems like months of being without one. But this morning Ezra found himself waking to the sound of the peculiar silver hybrid knocking on his door. The storm cloud that followed him around seemed to disappear, at least for a little while. The two caught up and explained where they had been recently. It seemed quite a lot had changed between them since their last meeting. They were now both pack wolves, too, which was a huge change in and of itself.

All formalities now gone, Ezra felt great seeing the girl again. But the day was young and there was a lot of trouble to be had between them. Ezra wasn’t entirely sure what they would do, but the prospect of showing Wretch around the packlands seemed like a good start. Want to check out Commune of the Salmon? I took Eli and Teme there not too long ago, it’s a lot of fun, He said to his companion happily. The giant wagged his tail back and forth against the earthen floor, eagerly waiting to hear what she wanted to do.

She had been very glad to discover that Ezra was a member of the pack already. It was a nice surprise, and it made the transition go a lot more smoothly. She'd spent the first night alone in the barn with Tyr, wanting to keep some semblance of familiarity and comfort for that first night in these strange new lands...but the next day she had gone around and looked at a few homes. The house that she'd chosen seemed to have been unoccupied for a while...everything inside was covered with a layer of dust, and she'd had to do quite a bit of cleaning before she could even consider it livable.

There was also all sorts of mold and insect life going on in the basement...which had brought rats into the bottom-most portion of the house. This Wretch didn't mind so much; they would learn soon enough that a luperci's house was not the best place to live. She'd discovered that Ezra lived in the house next door just that morning, when she'd looked through her window to see him bustling around. So it had only seemed right for her to go for a visit, considering that several days had passed since she had officially joined.

Wretch didn't know many of the territories yet, and looked up at him with interest when he gave a suggestion. She was up for doing whatever he wanted to do; she wasn't picky. She was interested in getting to know Ezra as a pack member, and already considered them friends due to their past encounter. He'd saved her, and she wouldn't forget that. (Even if she was stubborn enough sometimes to think that she would have been fine without his intervention). That sounds great! I haven't gotten to look around much...I've just been between here and the barns, caring for Tyr and visiting him. She said, her own tail wagging quickly behind her. I don't know where it is, or I'd try to race you there

Ezra looked at his silvery companion with glee, genuine happiness on his face for the first time in what felt like months. His tail only wagged harder as Wretch agreed, talking about racing. That only made the boy more excited, and he yipped happily, massive secui paws propelling him into the air with an excited jump. Oh yeah? You wanna race? I’ll give you a hint, he said chuckling, trying his best to keep his cool, but doing a very poor job of it. It’s just a few miles northwest of here. You’ll know you’re there when it gets all hilly. Ready? Go! Ezra took off like a rocket, his mammoth size undoubtedly giving him an advantage. Wretch was tiny, but she could probably hold her own against him. Or, at least he hoped.

Ezra could hear her own paws galloping behind him as he raced so he knew that she wasn’t far away. Knowing she was close made the man run even faster, white paws thundering against the warm dirt. After some time, he took a little break just before the Commune to catch his breath. He looked around, but he couldn’t find her. Good going, the man said to himself angrily, irritated that he had out-run his friend. He wasn’t trying to do that, it just sort of happened.

Wretch? the husky called out loudly to the surrounding forest. The Hollr double backed down the way he came, calling her name out occasionally to hopefully find her. Ezra sighed, angry at himself, until he lifted his head to see a black bear and her two babies just a few feet away. The hybrid’s ears flipped back on his head, and he tried to slink away, but because of the man’s proximity, the mother bear saw him as a threat to her infants. She growled menacingly, putting her children behind her with her massive claws. Ezra looked up at her, more in awe than anything else, only to get a swipe on his face. The hybrid snarled back, just as menacingly, as he lunged to bite her paw. He wasn’t quick enough; the superficial swipe he had gotten at first seemed like nothing; As he lunged, the bear’s other claw knocked him out of the way by connecting with his face. Blood started dripping into his blue eye. He was luckily he wasn’t blinded; he could feel a massive gash running down the right side of his face. And the bear was coming back for more.

I don't mind Smile lemme know if you want anything changed in my post, too!

She watched the older male's antics with a small smile on her face, chuckling every now and again. He seemed very lively this morning, and ready to head out! She didn't have that kind of energy after the long trip that they'd had, but a full night's rest had given her enough to spare for a nice run at least. He was much quicker than she was, with his larger form...but Wretch was agile. She looked for the fastest, easiest route and was able to get around trees and other obstacles with relevant ease. She headed in the direction that Ezra had specified, turning her head this way and that as she panted heavily from the run. He didn't seem to be anywhere in sight.

Then, quite suddenly, a crashing and roar filled the air around her. It made her fur stand up on end, making her appear much larger than she actually was. Her eyes widened as she turned and made for the location of the growl, a quarter-mile ahead of her through the thicket. She had somehow managed to circle around the group and faced Ezra, behind and upwind of the large, ferocious creature. It had done something to Ezra, she could see now; something seemed to be dripping down from his face.

Her heart beat quickly in her chest as one of the cubs began to turn her way. She made her presence known there and then, snarling loudly and zipping back around the group to stand next to Ezra. Make yourself appear bigger. Hmmm. You're bigger than I am...hold this up! She pulled her cloak off of herself, trying to shove it at him so he would take it. All the while, the hybrid kept her arms raised in the air, a loud rumble in her throat that was continually interrupted by small yips and barks. She grabbed a long, dead branch off of the ground and began to wave it in the air as well, growling and stamping her feet to try and scare the beast back before it could do any more harm.

Sorry for the delay, I took a vacation from the internet :3
Is the swoop too much? Cuz that’s just what Ezra does XD
(325)

Ezra had stopped thinking, his brain had completely shut off once his face had been gashed; all he could see was the blood dripping down his face and the stinging pain that came with it and how he wanted this beast to pay. He felt a little nauseous as he tried to fend off the angry black bear, but nothing he could do was working. He bit and growled but it seemed to do nothing, the bear still charged at him, full force. The man was still quick enough to avoid most of the attacks, and he even got a good bite or two in, but the bear was still winning.

Ezra would have been considerably more worried for his wellbeing if Wretch hadn’t come to help him scare off the bear. Ezra winced as his eye pooled with blood, temporarily making him unable to see. After a few blinks, though, he saw Wretch handing him the cloak. He took it eagerly, hoisting it above his head and backing up away from his foe. The bear turned around to look at Wretch, who was right by her children. The bear absolutely lost her mind then, snarling and growling with a primal urgency. They needed to get out of here, now.

They had just enough time to sneak away, hopefully Wretch could keep up. Ezra grabbed her hand and pulled the silver girl close, quickly scooping her legs up so that Ezra could run without wondering if she would keep up. Ezra ran as fast as his legs could carry him. Luckily Wretch weighed nothing, and he still had muscles from carrying Eli long distances. The bear was soon out of sight, and Ezra delicately put Wretch back on the ground, before falling to the ground himself. His face hurt so, so badly. The blood had stopped spilling so much and had transitioned to a small trickle. He whined, wondering how horrible the disfigurement was.
