visiting time! sorry for the lengthy/rambly post, it seems i've been neglecting denver. ; ; <3 for niro, mara, and maggie. set whenever/wherever (northern border), in the early afternoon.

It had been months since Denver had gone anywhere outside of the realm of Salsola. His time had been better spent tending to his young spawn; they were rambunctious and mischievous and everything he had been terrified of. They got into everything, had to be watched constantly. Thankfully, they had quickly learned to puppy-proof their home. Even still, the kids managed to find trouble daily.

They were curious little things, and not quite so little anymore. Denver couldn't carry his son for nearly as long as he could only weeks ago, especially with the child's squirming and complaining. Houston's vocabulary was limited, but that didn't keep him from questioning everything. 'Daddy, what's that?!' he'd squeal while pointing at anything and everything. Sometimes he'd even do it after Denver had given an answer. The mutt had to laugh; he was sure he had been the same way. Florence and Memphis were gorgeous girls, and clever, but not so intense as their brother. Once he'd have hated children like his own --or any children at all-- but they were his blood, and it was different now.

There was something else now, too, though. Magnolia had been begging him to go and visit the Court to the south ever since Niro visited not so long ago. Denver remembered the mohawked man as his first encounter with Cours des Miracles. It hadn't been such a bad place, but the ivory mutt had been younger then, and less grounded. He'd wrinkled his nose at the first sign of something that wasn't what he'd been looking for. Now, he had no reason not to visit his mate's family and show off his own. Salsola was his family, too, and they were both strong.

It took them too long to get there, and by then Denver was grumpy. They should have taken horseback, he knew, but that would have meant two horses, with him riding one. He had never learned how to ride, and even if he had his terror would outweigh his ability. So they had taken most of the journey in one evening, with the pups trailing behind for some time, or getting piggyback rides from their quickly wearying parents.

The next morning their trip resumed, and finished several long hours later when the sun was high. Each child complained of hunger, of tired feet, of wanting a nap. It was that time of the day, and Denver could have used a nap, too. Instead, he encouraged the kids gently, promising fun adventures ahead. He shot a pale blue gaze to Maggie, and nodded hurriedly for her to call for Niro, knowing he would recognize her voice first.

Can this be forward-dated, like, a day or two? Just cause there isn’t a set date for the Salvia/Eris threads yet…. And they could have technically happened today. I’ll keep it vague, though.
(422)

They were finally going back to the other kingdom. Maggie had become so involved in Salsola that this would be the second time she had left the packlands since she had joined, the first being when she traveled to Inferni to obtain Jasper. Speaking of, Maggie had been particularly miffed at Denver for not wanting to ride down south. It would have taken a fraction of the time but the dog insisted otherwise. Instead, they walked each and every pawstep of the way down.

After washing a chunk of the salty marsh scent of Salsola off their fur, they took off in the early morning. The three young pups at their feet bogged down their already slow journey. This journey was encouraged by two very simple things: one, the depressing letter she had received from Niro that spoke of an attack and relatively serious injuries, the other being Salvia. She had been especially nervous since her talk with the young Cicerone. She had spoken to Salvia about her atrocious deeds and then went straight to Eris despite knowing it would anger her leader. Salvia had threatened to hurt her children if Maggie was not loyal to her cause. It made sense to leave the pack territory for a while, while still leaving an honest note on her table at home explaining where she was. Jasper had been put in the stables until she returned. Hopefully the horse would not be neglected.

The walk had been slow, tiring, and hot. Florence whined constantly about the way the occasional human relic of pavement would be too hot to step on. After two days of non-stop puppy jibber-jabber, she knew both parents were going crazy. After two days on the road, Cour des Miracles was finally on their scent trail. Maggie picked up both girls during the final stretch, but once Denver stopped she put them down. “Niro said it would be safe to go to the hotel,” Maggie said once Denver looked at her. “We both used to be packmates here, and I am his daughter. We won’t have any trouble,” Seeing her old borders put an odd feeling in her throat, but she quickly stifled it. She motioned to her family to keep moving, and made their way to the hotel.

Just as the sun was just beginning to make its decent across the sky, Maggie reached the doors of the Hotel. She opened the front door carefully, wondering where her father was. “Hello?” She called out into the dusty first floor.

Word Count :: 317 Mayhaps heiro and tasha might be oked in this? Though I think savannah is away at the moment i am sure tian wouldn't mind bringing heiro in the play Smile. Also Niro's face scars are showing and there is no bandage there and his foot is casted and his shoulder still deeply bandaged. His hawk is not a little bit of a stubbled, just barely growing back in. Also has red ears now as well as a red swirl on his forehead and a handprint on his belly, and back of his hands has music notes

Niro made it an absolute point to move downstairs, he didn’t care how long he had been in an upstairs bedroom, but after the visit with Skoll, he had to get out more than he was and he wouldn’t heal if he kept stumbling and nearly falling down the stairs so his new temporary room was on the first floor. He was sitting in a chair that showed him the eye level view of the outside when he heard a voice call out. Sitting up straight he knew it was Maggie’s voice. Struggling up a little he made his way to the door without using the arm and foot that had been mangled.

“Maggie? Hold on, go to the common room, i’ll be there in a second.” The man called after her. There were two common rooms in fact, but he was sure to find them in either one, he had to make his way down the long damn hallway... whoever made such a huge building had been cursed many times by the grey man he used the wall to support his weight, thanking the stars that his bad shoulder was on the other side. It was healed far more than his foot and he found that he would have a gruesome scar and alway be bald on that shoulder because she took not only skin but muscle from his shoulder. He was very lucky to be alive. He knew he wouldn’t have much use of his arm as he used to anymore, how much was the question as he hopped his way down the hall and if anyone came within a few feet would know on his face that he was going to do this on his own and he was trying to make it look like he was having as little trouble as one who could walk on four legs did.

Hope you don’t mind! :: 554

This is soooo boring! Ro exclaimed with a snarl, knocking over a few books from a coffee table in the hotel. Ro! Stop it, I’m try’in to read, the black and white hybrid whined back in response slamming his book of fairy tales shut and sliding off his chair to collect the scattered books. He gathered the old texts together only to find he couldn’t lift them all at once with his new optime arms. His parents had told him it would take time for the muscles to grow and for him to get used to this form, so Heiro insisted on not shifting back until he saw some progress. He let out a little annoyed sigh before he picked each book up one by one and set them back on the table. Why do you want read? You know Tasha’s smarter anyway...why even bother? The scarlet pup asked, an evil smirk forming on his dark face. S’not the point Ro...I ken...I can-tuh...’nounce....pro..nounce, he sighed, say, sum...werds, it was a struggle to get out it out, but the little prince was determined to start talking like the adults as soon as possible.

He was getting ready to crawl back up into his chair when he heard a voice call into the hotel. Curiosity flashed across his sapphire eyes. Tricks time, Ro said with a satisfied nod, but Heiro ignored him as he walked past his friend and heard the voice of his father booming from the opposite end of the hallway I’m in da...tuh...common room, he whispered to himself with some frustration. Those damn ‘th’ words, he just couldn’t get them right. Ro only looked amused at his anger before sliding up next to him. Sounds like Daddy has some visitors...why don’t we surprise them Hei? It’s been awhile since our last game... Ro’s voice took on a seductive tone, but today Heiro was able to wave it off. He was curious who would be coming to see his father, especially since Niro was still in bad shape. Not today Ro...sorry, he said over his shoulder as he sauntered off towards the hotel foyer where the mystery voice had come from.

Walking two legged had been odd, but after practicing for hours, the little hybrid was becoming more accustomed to the feeling. He cautiously peered out from the study or common room of the hotel with ice blue eyes. Ro was gone now, most likely miffed with him for turning down his offer, but the shadow pup had already rubbed Hei the wrong way today. As he looked out, he didn’t notice the adult male or the children, his eyes only locked on the feminine image of his father and his tiny heart began to beat almost audibly in his chest. He-hello? He began as his two legs propelled him forward and into the presence of his father’s dark furred copy. His eyes stared up at her with adoration and confusion. Daddy! He called, feeling utterly stupid and scared now as he stumbled back towards the study.

If I ever take more then 2 days skip me

Amaranth Catori

Amaranth wasn't sure that she was stable enough to even deal with guests but Mag was family. She was always welcome to see them. Amaranth wasn't her mother nor did she ever claim to be but in a sense she was kinda happy the young woman had come to see herfather and his family with her family.

She had taken a bit of time to gather herself before making her apperance. She moved slowly as she could smell all who were gathering in the next room. Amaranth smiled as she moved forward hoping to not make a fool of herself. though thinking about her issues made her confidence fade which started to give her a panic attack. She could feel her heart starting to race as she stopped seeing her son. He was back to her and seemed to be stepping backwards.

Amaranth moved up to him.Heiro its alright son. She spoke looking down at him a bit. She moved to rest her hands on his shounders. These are family. She spoke smiling. She could feel herself still uneasy. Maybe she should not have joined them. They were his family not hers. This is your elder sister Magnolia and her mate. Ameanth spoke trying to make him feel a little better. She glanced at Niro and gave him a weak smile. Both mother and son a strange pair a mother trying not to affect her childern and a child who inherited her mental issues.

really sorry for making everyone wait! ><

Denver was grateful for the permission they'd been granted. He'd been worrying about that for a while, knowing how bored the kids would have been waiting at the border for who knows how long. Even he hated doing it. The trek there wasn't much better, but at least it went by quickly. The sights and sounds of Cours des Miracles brought back vivid memories to the ivory mutt. It wasn't so long ago that he'd first come to Nova Scotia, and not long before that that he'd still lived at home, on the farm.

By the time they arrived, Denver was uncomfortable and panting. Pale blues stared up at the familiar hotel with relief; at least it was shade, at least they could rest. As soon as they stopped, Houston collapsed in a shaggy heap at his feet. Denver smiled down at the exhausted pup, then turned to Maggie as she stepped towards the door. Knowing they had to get inside, the Confidant nudged his son with his foot, prodding him awake. "C'mon, son, get inside," he mumbled. He knew the pup was tired-- they all were-- but they would rest soon. The pair followed Maggie and the girls inside, letting the door creak shut behind them.

They didn't wait long for Niro to come hobbling out of the hall, leg and arm wrapped and shoulder bandaged. Denver had never seen the wolf looking so rough. Unable to hide his shock, the mutt let Maggie take the lead when he approached. A heartbeat later, though, something else came rushing into the room. A husky, he thought, but knew it couldn't be. Could it? He watched with a smirk as the pup crashed into Maggie, staring up at her with a wide mouth. Denver couldn't help but chuckle as he held back his own son, who cried out in his mothers defense. He patted his son reassuringly as the other black and white pup retreated right into his own mothers arms.

Denver remembered Amaranth, too, and he smiled when she introduced her son. "Hey Heiro; this here's Houston. He's a bit younger'n you, though." Houston's wide eyes stared up at the older boy on two legs, jealous of his walking. The pup shook his silvery-grey mane, ears flopping against his face. "Dad," he whined, "I want to walk on two legs, too!" Denver laughed, shaking his head and ruffling his son's hair. "Four legs are good, too, son. But two'll come soon enough; just wait." He himself preferred two, as well, but he wasn't going to tell his son that; like any young boy, he would need to spend a few long months in anticipation.
