Never Want To Be Alone

Sucks but at least I got it up!

The earth was wet with the recent rains, yet Adelaida found that she was too tired to keep moving, and instead of finding somewhere dry to lay she allowed herself to collapse right where she stood. It had been days since her meeting with Alexey, and even longer since she had seen Umbra. In fact, since seeing Alexey, Adelaida hadn’t spoken to anyone at all. Although she felt her sister was in the wrong, abandoning her for the freaks after agreeing to stick by her side, the fact that she was right out of the two Koios sisters did nothing to alleviate her loneliness. Pickles had been staying with her, something she had neglected to tell her sister, but while they got along fine and Adelaida could speak to him, he never spoke back. If the little rodent did speak back, Adelaida didn’t understand his language, but Pickles wasn’t the companion that Adelaida was missing.

For now the chinchilla was back in the small den Adelaida had dug out, warm and dry, for he couldn’t understand why the wolf was so restless, why she wanted to wanted outside on such a damp, dreary day. Adelaida couldn’t understand it either, but wander she did. She had found the lake and circled it once already, her pace had been quick and precise– almost as if she had a purpose. She had started on her second round when the tiredness had overcome her, and she did not hesitate to let her body slump onto the ground. Laying her listlessly was just as productive as circling the lake endless, and Adelaida was just fine with that. Placing her head on crossed paws, baby blue eyes started out at the lake as Adelaida tried to quell the sudden rush of emotions she felt. It felt like she would vomit with her loneliness.
