Character profile or three writing examples:

Appearance:
Fenrisulfúr is a medium size grey wolf. His coat is long and black with silver tufts along his back. His fur is often much darker than most arctic wolves as he rolls in dirt and mud to better hide himself during the snowless months. He has maroon eyes which have darkened from his time spent outside of the light. There is a ring of point scars around his left eye. Inside his right ear, centered within the flap, is a brand, carved with a hot knife. It resembles a clover but lapses into a jagged spine at every curve. He is lean and not as muscular as other wolves, except in the hind legs. His speed and capability to jump are unparalleled by most. The claws of his front paws, and his upper canines, are slightly longer than they should be, with the tips of his canines slightly visible beyond his upper lip.

In his optime form he stands 6'2" and is of a slender build compared to most wolves his age and height. Across his neck are two banded jagged scars that have healed but left a divit in his fur. Long black fur coats his back, which he perfers to keep matted down with dirt. The tips of his ears have a tuft of hair that causes them to bend slightly, as though he had never grown from a pup. Around his neck he wears a thin collar of braided vines, forced on him by his adopted coyote clan to remind him of his servitude and low stature.

Biography:
Fenrisulfúr was born to a pack of wolves on the brink of starvation, in northern Canada. With more than half of the pack unable to hunt due to starvation, he and two siblings, a brother and sister, were cast out by a new alpha. Fenrisulfur was able to find solice, after many weeks of wandering and feeding off of small creatures, with a clan of coyote.

It was in this clan that he was attacked by several of the younger males, passing the Z456 virus to him, and allowing him to access an unknown intelligence and shift. As he was not of the clan inherently he was considered the lowest member and often the coyotes acted aggressively toward him. When he was almost full grown he was cast out from the clan by a group of males who felt that he could threaten them when he grew larger.

Since leaving the clan of coyotes he has been wandering Canada, seeking refuge with any pack that would take him in. As he was not raised with wolves he has often been too fearful to cross any territory lines, and has become aggressive in defending himself in the neutral zone.

More than find safety he wants to find his old clan and banished siblings, and lead his old pack to prosperity in a new territory.

Personality:
As he was not born a Luperci he is often reluctant to interact with shifted wolves. He has shifted in the past, but prefers to remain in his standard or secui form. He is a skilled hunter and enjoys stealth more than strength.

Fenrisulfur is nervous around large packs of unfamiliar wolves and often acts aggressively rather than observe the respectful submission. He is cautiously avoidant of conflict but will gladly fight until his death if given the proper motivation. His loyalty is fierce and unyielding if earned.

Although he has never felt the security of a true pack, he longs to be with others of his kind and desperately seeks out his kind. Although he wants to make himself known as a strong and proud wolf within a pack he has no desire to contend for leadership unless he feels it is necessary.

Fenrisulfur's insecurity brands him as a wolf that can never truly thrive in a pack with any distrust. In his mind it is his duty to ensure whatever pack accepts him thrives and becomes prosperous beyond any possibility of erradication.

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
