Disturbed nights

A terrified cry echoed through the night, breaking the still silence that had hung over the Arte territory. With the cry came the sound of heavy thrashing through the undergrowth as Keldava was torn from her nightmares into reality. The long grass which she had bedded down in for the night had shifted and wrapped around her arms – Keldava was still stuck in Optime form from the injury to her back – and she instantly started struggling and thrashing, letting out a second howl of panic to match her first and mindlessly ignoring the burning pain in her lower back as she tore open her knife wounds again

Eventually Keldava calmed down enough to stop thrashing around and just lay on her back, hyperventilating and watching the sky with wide eyes. Lately the young Luperci had taken to sneaking out of the house after the rest of the family was asleep, finding somewhere else to sleep. Her family had not demanded this and would probably be unhappy with her if they found out but Keldava felt guilty about waking everyone up with her screaming. It had been her stupidity, her weakness that had gotten her attacked and injured, they shouldn’t have to put up with it.

Keldava shuddered violently as scraps of the nightmare flickered into her mind. It had been vague, mostly sensory memories; pain and wetness, the feel of steel cutting through her fur. One shaky hand reached around to feel her lower back, making Keldava wince when her hand touched fresh blood from the torn wound. Visible as a large, red scab even when unbroken Keldava’s back doubtlessly looked horrific now. Whimpering for a multitude of reasons – fear, shame at her fear and pain chief among them – Keldava huddled herself up, lying mostly face down to try and give her back some air, and tried to will herself back to sleep.

WC: 334 OOC: I actually had this dream... FOR REAL!! except it was kittens and not puppies and i cried so hard ; ; Also she has a slight baby bump but reeks of pregnancy lol, and she's blunt and protective of pack mates even ones she never met.

Eclipse was depressed. Not so much now because she had more time to think on it and somehow Robert made her feel better about the whole situation, but she still did not believe she would be a good mother. And this was what was keeping her up tonight. She had a dream where she had her pups and that she was told that she couldn’t keep them because she had too many and she wasn’t responsible enough, and she cried as other wolves came in to adopt her own puppies and them away from her to their home. She cried for a few minutes before realizing she was awake and that she was still pregnant.

After that she couldn’t go back to sleep. She found the best thing to do was to go for a walk and that’s what she did. It was late at night too and she was able to see the stars, the ones that were beautiful up in the sky They made her wish she had the power to go all the way out there. But she couldn’t fly or hover or anything. She let out a sigh of frustration when she heard the scream and she bolted for whoever it was. Not thinking she was pregnant, not being any more careful than she would be confronting a situation that could potentially be dangerous.

What she found was just a young woman who was out in the woods alone. It did make her look around, perhaps she had scared an attacker off with her scream? She looked hard, but saw no one then back at the young woman who was a part of this pack, and her smell seemed somewhat familiar, though it was someone than something this time. Then she saw and smelled the fresh blood and she bristled. “Who did this to you?” She asked suddenly wide eyes and looked around once again to make sure the attacker was no where near them.

Word Count → 324 :: Sorry for the wait Sad

Just when Keldava was managing to settle down again, if not to sleep at least to get a little rest, something came crashing into the clearing, an unfamiliar canine smell that had Keldava first bolt upwards, and then recoil away, dropping back down and curling up into a protective ball, whimpering in fear as her mind began to convince her the one who had interrupted her was Amy come to finish what she had started. The movements did a good job of finishing the earlier started job of tearing her back open again but Keldava didn’t even notice as the pain in her back increased and even more fresh blood-scent filled the air, too taken up with terror at the unexpected intrusion.

It was the pup-scent which brought her back. Everything else was just a big, confusing jumble of sounds ands scents which her brain, still addled from sleep and her earlier nightmare, couldn’t make sense of but the pup-scent was strong and familiar – Keldava had been smelling it a lot recently on Mahnaya – and it cut through the fog, yanking her to her senses.

The female who had awoken her wasn’t Mahnaya but the scent was unmistakably Arte and that calmed Keldava down somewhat. Slowly she uncurled from her ball, dark eyes looking up suspiciously at the figure. What she saw calmed her down even further; a female slightly smaller than herself, coloured a soft brown and with a kind looking face, though that face was looking rather wary at the moment.

The question put a familiar pang of fear into Keldava as she remembered Amy’s warning not to tell anyone but she forced past it; she had told Skye and nothing had happened, Amy held no power over her as long as she was inside the pack lands. ”A loner, a trader, Amy she called herself.” She said in a quiet, fragile voice far unlike the boisterous tone she normally took.

(333) OOC: NP Big Grin I was going to send you a pm and then i forgot about it haha

She was alert but the adrenaline was leaving her as she saw that there was no one around that was endangering the other younger canine right now. Eclipse looked over at the young woman and could smell blood lace the area on her back and noticed the open wound on it. She saw they were older wounds but still new enough to open and she let her guard down further, but not all the way. She looked tenderly at the woman, feeling sadness that she had to sustain an injury at such a young age; “Maybe we should clean that up. It’s bleeding pretty freely.” Eclipse said wanting to help the woman.

She could tell within seconds Keldava was a part of Cercatori no questions asked, but Eclipse wondered why she was out here of all places and not within Thornbury’s protection, but then Eclipse herself was out tonight. She knew why she was here though. She caught the name the woman spoke of, a trader named Amy? Well Eclipse would certainly not allow anyone with that name in this pack at all now. She nodded to let the other know she understood but the name didn’t mean much to her but she would keep on guard for such a thing.

She moved a little closer seeing the fear in the younger woman and made herself look peaceful, though she didn’t have to do that; “I don’t think we’ve met before, I am Eclipse Soulstorm.” She said, a slight smile crossing her face. This was just the thing that she needed to get her mind off things, though she never hoped anyone to ever be hurt. She wondered if it was too prudent to get Taliesin, but rememberd she had extra gauze at her home, perhaps if she were to persuade the other to join her there to clean up and wrap the wound she would not get an infection like Eclipse had with her foot.
