Welcome to the family AW

Now that Amatha was a few weeks old and her gorgeous eyes were open, it was time to bring her into Casa to introduce her to the pack. Isa was excited for her pack mates to meet her daughter, knowing she was brought into a loving pack. Wrapped in soft furs, Amatha was carried by Isa as her and Hadley traveled back home. Isa was also excited to see Adelle as well since the silver woman had adopted her the last time they had been together. The large pup had yet to meet Amatha as well but Isa knew she would be excited to have someone to play with and help train once she was older. Hopefully Adelle's anger was at least beginning to recede, if not, Isa would be sure to make time to talk to the girl.

Once inside the Fort, Isa looked to Hadley and gave him a big smile before lifting her head and calling for anyone who wanted to come. She knew it wasn't really her place to call the pack together but she just wanted everyone to meet their little girl.

Life had gotten very boring for Neela. Day in and day out her pregnancy had left her with little to do and while she did her best to find people to talk to, or even help out where she could, in the end it often ended up that her days consisted of laying about wishing for something do to.

As such she was extremely grateful when her latest daydream was broken by the noise and scent of somebody approaching the fort. Shaking her head sleepily Neela forced herself to her feet, pushing her way out of the bush in front of her house that she had been napping in to see what was going on. Ismeme and Hadley were walking through the gates together – that was nothing particularly interesting, the two were mates after all – but what caught Neela’s attention was the small brown figure carried by Ismeme.

Neela was unusually fond of puppies at the best of times and with some of her own growing inside her she couldn’t contain herself from going over to take a look, tail wagging fiercely despite the ungainly waddle that her stomach forced her into when moving fast.

She let out a quiet, friendly bark to signal her presence as she approached from the side. Tail still wagging Neela stopped a respectable distance away, knowing not to push a mother for space with her newborn, and sat down, taking some strain off her legs. ”Isa, Hadley, good to see you. How’s your daughter? She looks beautiful.” the words were somewhat more formal than Neela used but her tone was fast and excited. While she waited for a response Neela craned her head to try and get a better look at the pup, finding it hard to see her well between the height difference and the distance she had chose to keep.

The past couple of days had been spent arranging the house they'd be moving into. It wasn't as fancy as the one outside of Casa, but he had gone through and made sure it was safe. A room for Isa and Hadley to share had been set up, mainly with a bundle of furs and blankets making up the bed. Amatha's room was full of soft furs, adjoining with their own. Hadley had spent a lot of time tearing out the odd metal structures in there, and then using wood to patch up the odd wall pieces that stuck out, but once that was done it had become a pup's paradise, toys filling it as well as a soft place for her to hide in.

Kade's room had been more simple, designed with ease of travel in mind. He wanted the fox kit to be able to move around easily in the house, with a small den built inside. Adelle's room was different from that. It was separate from the rest of the family, more out of respect for the young female than anything else. Her room was by the back, a place for her weapons and training equipment made. A place to sleep had been provided, but little else, as Adelle had been insistent in leaving her alone. Hadley had been glad to comply.

Isa's voice rose up, calling to the pack to meet Amatha. Hadley looked over to his daughter, tail wagging as he stared at how beautiful she was. It was still hard to believe, though it was getting better with time. His gaze fell back as a bark called out, eyes sharp and defensive. Seeing it was Neela he relaxed, grinning broadly. Thank you. Her eyes opened recently. She's growing eager to explore.

Alena fluttered into his window with an announcing screech, paper clenched in her claws. Lifting his eyes from the book on his lap Jazper had jumped up to greet the barn owl, a large hand brushing against her feathers in gentle thanks as he took the paper. A day ago he had sent the owl to Skye, asking when the pups would be arriving. Unrolling the parchment his golden eyes grew in shock at the words just in time for a call to echo from near by. His ears twitched in the calls direction, knowing that they had arrived with the gift of new life in Casa but his eyes did not leave the note in Skye’s writing bidding him to join her in d’Arte as soon as possible. A sigh of frustration came as he released his breath. He would need to leave Casa tomorrow, it was a good thing he had a co-leader now. Putting the letter down on his bed he hurried out of the courthouse, a ball of guilt twisting up in his chest as he thought about leaving Alyssum, blissfully unaware of his feelings for her and his new connection to Skye.

He could see Ismeme cradling a bundle in some furs as he approached the three wolves. Pushing his guilt away he allowed himself a moment of peace and happiness as he looked at the new parents and approached closer. “So you decided to come back did ya?” He teased lightly, his own head moving around as he tried catch a peek of the singular little one, his feet planting next to Neela, taking her hint to be cautious around the new mother, though he would have rushed right up to her if the dogmix hadn’t been there to act as a visual reminder not to completely rush the new parents. Steadily looking more like an anxious pup he allowed his tail to swing around wildly and his ears to perk up curiously.

Isa was excited to see Neela coming up to them, knowing she was pregnant and due in a few weeks. She sat down in front of Neela, letting her get a closer look at Amatha since she couldn’t shift from her Lupus form. It’s great to see you too Neela. This is Amatha. She smiled up at Hadley as he spoke to Neela. It wasn’t much longer before Jazper showed up, teasing them about finally coming back to Casa. Well it’s not like we can stay away from you for long. If he would tease them she would tease him right back.

Jazper seemed overly excited about seeing the pup and knew he was just like her when it came to pups. He would want nothing more than to ogle all over Amatha. Would you like to hold her Jazzy? Isa held up Amatha, allowing him to hold her.

Neela’s tail wagged as the pup was lowered down for her to have a look at. Just as she’d thought from a distance, the puppy was small, shaded brown and cute as a button. Neela leaned in as close as she dared, sniffing gently at the pup before her tongue flashed out, laying a feather light lick onto Amatha’s nose. ”Hello there Amatha.” she said gently. An old memory flickered into Neela’s mind, good luck charms nearly forgotten, relics of a place she no longer called home. ”May Mother Moon watch over you, Gran Azul stay his distance and Sol brighten your days little one.” she recited, licking Amatha thrice on the brow, once for each name mentioned. ”Pueden los ángeles te cuide mientras nada y las estrellas que guían verdadero hogar.

That done she backed off respectfully, tilting her head upwards to look at Hadley and Isa again, ”Wishes of good luck from a place far away, for what they’re worth.” she explained, before lowering her head, an odd sense of melancholy coming over her as she thought of her old home.

The sense of disquiet was broken somewhat by Jazper’s arrival. If nothing else the Alpha’s excitable manner was amusing, making Neela giggle as he stood there fidgeting like a yearling. She gazed up as Isa offered Amatha to Jazper to hold, feeling a slight sense of jealousy that her Lupus form didn’t allow her the same privilege even if it had been offered. Still, her own pups would be here before too long, and then she would have plenty of furry bodied to hold and cuddle, judging by the size of her stomach.

Hadley smiled over at Jazper as the sole came out, tail wagging. Jazper's own children littered the pack, busy in all their various positions. He was fairly certain that Amatha was the first one born in Casa though, a fact that he was extremely proud of. It wasn't his birth pack, or even the pack he would have chosen on his own, lacking the soul of a warrior. It was his home though, and he wouldn't be leaving it.

The hybrid watched with some suspicion as Neela spoke over their pup, wondering what might be said. The mention of blessings relaxed Hadley, surreptitiously touching the blue ribbon wrapped around his left wrist. He watched the large wolf almost dance with anxiety, eager to meet Amatha. Isa's words spiked Hadley's protective instincts, but he stayed back and kept quiet. He trusted that Jazper wouldn't harm his pup. He would let him hold her.
