With mane suddenly freed, Jaden leaned forward again and drew back his fist for another strike. He was half way through throwing it when he realized his Issor had been knocked senseless by the strike. A few quick breaths came and went while he watched her stir lightly and grown before he was able to pull himself out of a fighting mentality. When sense finally crossed fell into his blue eyes, his ears fell back in worry. It had been his aim to show that the gauntlets were valuable in battle and thus he had done but at what price?

The Issum pulled himself off of his beloved so she could be comfortable. The fight looked to be gone from her form and there was no need to leave her in further agony with the strike he’d given her. Placing a cautious hand on her collar bone in case she was to snap back to into action, he inched closer to examine the damage he’d done. Little footsteps took his attention and he looked up to see the pup who had been previously asleep headed their way. As he got closer Jaden spoke out to him, Stay back for a moment, Zeus.

The pup stopped instantly but looked unsure whether or not to stay. Rin? He whined worriedly.

X’yrin, can you hear me? Jaden asked. His hand moved forward as if to brush her long locks away but stopped, afraid of the pain he might cause.

The ringing had subsided some, giving her the ability to hear the voices around her again. The noise of the afternoon came and went in waves. The soft echoes of the songbirds flowed into one ear and out the other nearly muted. In that white noise she could hear the soft voice of her pup calling to her, the worry evident that stirred her more protective instinct.

Immediately she tried to pull herself up but was kept down by a weight on her collar. Abruptly she raised her hand and swat the restraint away, finding strength to push herself off the ground to prop up and search for her little one through clouded vision. "Zeus.." Her head was spinning but she was still able to find her charge well enough. She growled softly to beckon him closer then gently took him against her chest, then fell back again to the ground as the throbbing became more intense.

If a strike from a weapon like that could immobilize her so effectively perhaps it was useful to have on hand. But her reluctance to admit it was quite plain by her stubborn disposition and her lack of acknowledgement to the acclaimed victor. She settled instead for catering to her little one while she continued to blink the stars from her eyes and focus in on a lone cloud floating overhead. She hadn't recalled being hit so hard like that in a long time. More than likely it was going to take her a while before she was seeing straight again. But perhaps that was for the best, knowing that if her eyes behold her black and white companion it would not be with admittance of his win that she looked to him, but bitterness for being bested to tactlessly in a fighting manner she prided herself in.

What had become of his light hearted offer now? They had argued to an unfruitful extent to then settle on a compromise the required he knock his beloved senseless. Watching her beauty as it ignored him and away his cautious hand, it was difficult to feel like he had one this day. But Jaden would hold the golden female to her word and they would train. Not today though. He would wait until she had a clear head

Zeus seemed much more content to come to the call of his caretaker then he had been at heeding the Issum’s warning. He watched him lick at her affectionately with his little tail lashing and actually felt a bit envious of the pup. In victory she would be bitter and defeat he would have felt loss. Aggravation at the immature display kept any further questioning from befalling her. The attitude would have been lost were she truly injured. But there was no stopping his worry. It might be necessary to check up on her later to ensure she didn’t have a concussion.

For now though, a bit of anger heated him centered on his aggravation and guilt for the pain he had caused her. Maybe next time you might offer me some trust instead of bringing it to this. The words were not belittling or overly nasty but displayed the displeasure he gained from having to hurt the one he loved. Then he would turn to leave, quite sure that she didn’t wish to have a conversation on the matter in her condition.
