[WC:276 // Pts: 0] Backdated to August 10th, set at night.

Rio had just posted herself on the couch. She wrapped herself in one of her blankets and sat in the corner of the L-shaped couch – in the area of where she and Itzal had sex a few nights before. There was a lot on her mind and she just didn’t know where to start. She didn’t want to get rid of the house, but then again she had no reason to keep it once she was gone. She was planning to go to Cour des Miracles in a few weeks, and despite loving her freedom here – she wanted to take the next step in her life.

Joining Cour des Miracles again would be an interesting step. She had been there once before when she was younger, right after the rape. The King was generous with his hospitality and kindness towards her – she would never forget it or him. She wondered if he would remember her when she returned, or would she have fallen back to the depths of his mind. The thought of being forgotten made Rio shiver, and she wrapped the blanket around herself tighter. She didn’t want to be forgotten – and it seems it was easy for her to slip away from the minds of others. Her mother had forgotten her, as well as her father. They both were gone.

The sounds of the crickets around the house were comforting enough. It soothed her mind into letting her slip deep into her thoughts. She shut out everything else - scents, all other thoughts, sounds. She sat there in deep thought - probably endangering herself more now that she wasn't paying attention to anything else.

Itzal isn't in a very good mood XD

Itzal used words while walking up porch to the house that in old human times, would not have been used in front of anyone respectable. His leg was killing him. Axelle had finally said that she had to be getting back at Anathema and she had told him, in a very stern voice, to go and get his leg looked at right away. He had conceded since he was living with the nearest thing to a doctor around. But he had watched her walk away, before laughing to himself and starting his journey back to Rio's. Now Itzal was far from laughing. And he was loud. Louder than the hybrid had been in a long, long time. Itzal wasn't use to making so much noise. And he was sure wolves from miles around could here him stumbling through the door into Rio's house. It was like he was sending out a signal that said "look at me, I'm injured and ripe for the killing." and that thought was enough to put Itzal in a foul mood.

As he stumbled through the door Itzal was surprised Rio wasn't ready for him. If he had heard someone coming in like Itzal had, he would be expecting someone who had come looking for trouble. But he found her oblivious to the world around her. She must have been pretty deep in thought for her not to have heard him. Itzal help back a growl, though he felt his throat start to vibrate. This stupid chick is going to get herself killed, He thought, mainly because he was feeling bitter. He cleared his throat and spoke, "Rio, you mind helping me before I bleed out all over your floor." He tried to keep his voice calm and quiet but there was an under current of cool anger in his voice. And sure enough, there was blood slowly pooling around the foot of his injured leg. He didn't think it was necessary to tell her what he needed help with. Though at this point, he wasn't sure he could tell her without snapping her head off.

[WC:524 // Pts: 5] Backdated to August 10th, set at night.

Obviously, the door banging open startled Rio enough and bloody Itzal stumbling through had her throwing off her comforters to help him. She had the dagger he gave her laying on one of the foot rests for protection. Lupercis didn’t own keys, and so she really couldn’t lock the door unless everyone was home. Rio jumped off the couch and pushed one of the foot rests off to the side for Itzal to sit. She pushed it toward the door and helped him sit down on it. The white carpets had been fucked since she found the house, so a large blood stain was nothing.

The dark-hued female made sure he was situated before rushing upstairs for her medical supplies. She took two steps at a time, stumbling over her footing and up the stairs a few times. When she got to the landing, she rushed into her room and into the master bathroom in there. She went through the medicine cabinet, getting her Aloe Vera gel and rummaged through the draws to find a syringe, needle and stiches, and gauze. She also grabbed a new weapon that she found in a hospital she raided a while back. “Lidocaine” it read on the bottle and she had read something about it in a book – it numbs an area for a short amount of time. The syringe would help her use that – and since the man’s leg looked bad from what she could briefly see – she figured it would be a good time to use it.

She gathered all the items up in her arms and beat it back downstairs. She almost fell on the way in her rush, but managed to keep herself from doing that. She passed Itzal and used the other foot rest to set up all her medicinal supplies. Then she slid the other chair over to where she needed to work, and sat on the floor.

Then she gently took Itzal’s leg and examined it. ”What happened?” A small hole through his leg was evident, and it seemed to be getting infected. She got up and went into the kitchen, returning with a bottle of alcohol. She set the bottle of vodka down beside her and continued to look at the man’s leg. She took the Lidocaine bottle and poked the syringe through the top of it. She sucked what she could of the liquid into the syringe – not bothering to take doses. She squeezed the syringe lightly causing a bit of the liquid to shoot out of the top, making sure there was no air bubbles in the solution. Then she stuck the needle into Itzal’s leg – the muscle that was seemingly injured – and slowly injected the solution into it. When the needle was empty, she took it out and sat back. ”That’s going to make you numb – then I could work with the rest.” Rio had a different style of healing than other Luperci. Her approach was way more human than others’. She preferred to clean and stitch the serious wounds rather than just disinfect them, cover them, and let them heal on their own. She was pretty thorough.

Itzal held onto his anger while Rio ran around. He had to give her credit, she reacted fast to his entry and being pulled out of her thoughts. He watched her move while he could, using that distract him. When she disappeared from his sight he sat down on the foot rest she had pushed his way. He growled, feeling the pain swell up in his leg. He waited for Rio to return. It felt like forever as the pain in his leg made his vision swim. It was amazing how in the presence of Axelle and the joy of seeing her, the pain had faded. But since they had parted ways and he had made the journey back to Rio's, it had progressively made itself known. Until eventually, it seemed like it was trying to overwhelm him.

Finally Rio returned. Itzal knew it couldn't have been as long as it had felt. It just couldn't have been. But he still had to resist the urge to snap at her for taking her sweet time. He knew she was trying to help. But he just needed something to release his anger on so he could take his mind off the pain. As she ran back down the stairs, almost falling, and set stuff up he watched her. When she finally spoke he couldn't help but let out a strained, humorless laugh, "I ran into an old friend who didn't recognize me right away." He said. It was all the truth he felt like giving. She didn't need to know about Eztli. Maybe he would mention Axelle, just to see her reaction, but right now his words were strained and short.

He watched her play with some kind of needle. Then she jammed it into his leg. His muscle was sensitive and he swore. A lot. But otherwise he didn't show any sign that the needle bothered him. He nodded when she told him what the liquid was for. He looked at the vodka bottle, "I think that drink would help as well." He said, wishing he could reach out and take the bottle. He would have but she obviously needed it for something if she hadn't handed it to him when she came into the room. So Itzal just waited for the medicine to kick in and tried to keep himself from grabbing the Vodka and drinking the bottle in one swallow.

[WC:410 // Pts: 3] PP on him losing feeling O.o

Rio sat before him on the floor, examining his leg. The lack of swearing told her that the numbness was kicking in. The bottle of vodka was to clean his wound, but she took it and handed it to him anyway. ”Don’t drink it all.” She needed some of it to disinfect the hole in his leg. After he took the bottle from her, she went back to examining the wound. The cut was completely through the muscle, though she was happy that she couldn’t see directly through the hole.

When Itzal was done taking a sip, Rio snatched the bottle from his hands and poured a generous amount on his leg. The vodka poured through the hole and leaked out the other side stained with a red tint. All the liquid fell onto the carpet, but Rio couldn’t be bothered with that now. Itzal wouldn’t have been able to feel any of the burning from the alcohol due to the shot she gave him. She was happy she had to deal with a lot less swearing and bitching from him. When she felt like she had cleaned it enough, she handed the bottle back to him. Then got to work.

She lifted his leg onto her lap, forgetting any erotic tendencies that move might have created in a normal situation. She first grabbed the Aloe Vera gel she kept in a small jar. She flipped the top off and took a lot from the jar into her fingertips. Then she smoothed it over Itzal’s cut, sticking her fingers into the wound to make sure the gel got in there as well. She did the same on the other side, too. She used up all the gel she had in her hands, but wiped the remnants on the cut on his arm. It would help it heal faster.

She placed the jar aside and went for the stitches and gauze. She placed the gauze closer to her, but took the needle and stitches. The needle was rather long, but not thick. She cut a long enough piece of the stitch with her dagger, and tied it to the needle. Then she poked it through the side of his skin, and it poked through with a sickening fleshy pop. The sound made Rio nauseous, but she continued to do what she was doing without any complaints. He still wouldn’t be able to feel what she was doing, if she shot worked properly.

Whatever Rio had injected into him was working its magic because the burning in Itzal's leg was fading to nothingness. It was amazing how all of that pain could just fade to a numbed feeling. But Itzal still took the vodka from Rio and took a swig of it. Then he let Rio have it back when she went to snatch it back. He watched her work, seeing the vodka flow through his wound but not feeling it. It was weird. Like he knew it should burn and cause him to growl but he didn't feel it. Like the instinct was there with nothing to enforce it. The sight of the blood tinted alcohol coming from his own body probably would have disturbed someone else but Itzal was use to the sight of blood. He could honestly say, however, this was one of the worst wounds he had ever received. He had many scars, but most wounds Itzal could handle himself. This was something different.

Itzal took the bottle back from her when she offered it and took another sip. The vodka was okay, nothing really fancy. But Itzal didn't want fancy, he just wanted something to do and drink. The vodka wasn't to strong, at least Itzal didn't think so. He did feel the burn when she wiped some aloe vera on his other cuts. Though he just ignored the pain and took another drink. He watched her grab some medical supplies with curious wonderment. Finally he couldn't help himself. "What are you doing? Is that some kind of thread?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at Rio. He didn't understand what she was trying to do. Couldn't she just bandage it and wait for it to heal?

[WC:355 // Pts: 0] Oh, well I was just doing it to keep track – but I would like her to get into the courtier tracks… It would suite her more.

After poking the thick, silk-derived stitch through the little hole in the needle, with much difficulty, Rio looked up to Itzal. ”Stitches.” Then she poked the the needle through one side of his skin, and continued it through to the other side, beginning to seal the hole on the front of his leg. ”My medicinal approach is more… human. I would rather close wounds rather than just cover them up and wait for them to heal.” She concentrated for a few more seconds on pulling the thread through the sides again on a lower level. ”This way you won’t lose so much blood.” She went back to stitching, pulling the silken stitch through his skin carefully – even though, she knew she wouldn’t hurt him.

She worked on the hole in his leg for the next ten minutes, and when she was done, she cut the thread and tied the rest in a knot so that it wouldn’t come out of his leg. ”I need to you turn around so I can get the other side of your leg.” Picking his leg up and doing it from there would be too awkward for her. She didn’t want to screw it up, as she wasn’t that skilled of a healer in the first place. ”The best way would be for you to bend over the seat and kneel on your knees. That way I can work on your leg from behind.” She wasn’t sure if he really knew what she was trying to tell him, but as long as he knew what position he needed to be in, he would soon find out the rest.

While he moved, she cut more thread to pass through the needle again. She struggled to get the tough thread through the tiny hole, but managed. Moving back some, she tried to give him room for his legs to stretch out. She left the vodka bottle close to him, just in case the numbing shot didn't reach the back of his leg. She hoped it did, though, as she would hear a lot of cursing coming from him. She didn't like cursing.

Itzal didn't really know what Rio was doing. He knew what she had told him but he just grunted. He didn't truly understand what she was saying medical wise, but he figured a stitched up cut was better than a gaping hole in his leg. And less blood was good. "Less blood is a good thing." He said, repeating his thoughts. He could feel a slight tugging at his legs, but nothing was associated with the tugging. Not pain and nor pleasure. The numbing medicine was working still and Itzal hoped it didn't wear off any time soon. Having a needle and thread put through his leg to close up a hole in his head sounded painful in theory. And Itzal was fine with just accepting the theory without putting it to the test.

Itzal waited through the next ten minutes with tested patients. He didn't believe that he could have sat there that long if it weren't for the vodka and the numbing shot Rio had given him. He laid his head back and closed his eyes, blowing out an exasperated breath, before drinking down some more vodka. When he finally opened his eyes it was because Rio's voice stirred him from his state of rest. He had zoned out, listening to her work. But when she said she needed him to switch he sighed. Itzal growled softly when he realized how she wanted him to sit, but complied without trouble. He didn't like putting himself in such a position, because it made him both vulnerable and feel weak.

He settled into position and leg her get to work. At first he didn't feel much, just a tiny prick. Then as she pulled the thread through the hole he growled, swearing under his breath. Then when she poked the needle through the other side he couldn't keep his voice down, "Fuck" He growled as she pulled the needle through again. Itzal started to growl, grabbing the bottle of vodka and taking a giant gulp. With the effects of the alcohol kicking in, his tongue was loosened and he started to use words he hadn't remembered he knew. And by the time he was done with another long stream of swear words, the black male was sweating and gritting his teeth.

[WC:286 // Pts: 0] As you have it, my last OOC text wasn't for you >.<

She continued to pull the thread through the needle as Itzal repositioned himself. By now, the white carpet in the living room was soaked with blood - the carpet was no longer white, in that spot at least. Tying the end of the string into a big enough knot, so that it would just slip through when she pulled it tighter, Rio concentrated on the big, red hole in the other side of his leg. The wound was enough to make her feel queasy, and she had the urge to ask him what had really happened. Though, she decided not to because it really was none of her business.

She positioned herself better on her knees and crouched over his leg with her stitch and thread. The sickening pop of tearing flesh echoed in her ears as she poked the needle through the first side. She could hear Itzal swearing silently, and she growled too - but at him because of his rude words. She continued her work, trying to be as gentle as possible now that it was evident that he could feel everything. Apparently, the Lidocaine shot didn't reach the back of his leg. As an audible fuck word was called out, Rio cringed, but kept working.

The curse words began to get more frequent as the vodka took its toll on Itzal. At first, they made Rio cringe and become angry - but as she realized she was the cause of his misery, she began to laugh at him. A few times she looked up, noticing each time that he became more stressed and sweaty. Rio giggled, "What happened Itzal? I thought you could take pain." She never saw him this weak, never.

Itzal felt Rio cringe at his words but he couldn't bring himself to care. Itzal knew that he should probably be more concerned about what he said, but it was good to finally get all of this out. Since he had run into Axelle, maybe even since returning to Nova Scotia, he finally had something to get angry about. And the alcohol helped as well. Made him feel as if he could shed his skin. If only he could do it at a time when there wasn't a hole in his leg being stitched up.

Itzal glanced back at Rio as she began to laugh. He looked at her with confusion and worry. Had she lost her mind? What was so funny about this situation. It wasn't until Itzal realized she was laughing at his language and pain that had her laughing. He growled, narrowing his eyes. His stream of cuss words cut off, leaving him panting softly. He was tempted to snap at her but in his position he really couldn't. And he didn't think it would be a good idea with her threading a needle through his leg. So he just sat there a few more seconds until finally he couldn't hold his tongue any more. "I can handle pain just fine when it is in a fight. But when I'm bent over with someone pulling a needle through my skin when I feel helpless..." He let the words fade away and growled again, "I think it entitles me to a little language."He said, his voice harsh. He knew he should have been nicer to her but he needed someone to be angry at. Rio continued to pull the thread through his skin as quickly and carefully as she could. She knew he wanted this over with, and frankly, she did too. She was almost done. There was a pause in her work, and she took that second to look up at him. ”Vulnerable? Like I could stick a knife in your back and you wouldn’t know it - that kind of vulnerable?” She knew she could if she was fast enough. She looked down and continued to work again.

A few minutes passed by, and she was finally binding off the last stitch. His wounds were closed to the best of her skill, and his blood loss was cut in half, if not more. Rio cut the last of the stitch and tied it the tightest she could without hurting him. Then she put down the dagger and took the roll of gauze from the seat beside her, and the Aloe Vera gel. She slabbed a generous amount on both sides of his leg with her fingers, and then capped the jar. Then she took the gauze and wrapped it around his leg, tightly but comfortably. Then she closed off the gauze by tucking the side into the tightly wrapped bandage. It would be able to stay like that as long as it needed to heal – then he could take it off and let the stitches do their magic. She huffed looking at her good job – she approved.

She patted Itzal on the ass, signaling him to get up if he wanted to. Then she began collecting all her supplies in her arms. She took the gauze, jar of gel, needle and stitch, and whilst doing that she told him, ”Now just be careful on it, and keep the bandage on there for as long as possible. In a week, come find me again – and I’ll take the stitches out for you.” Then she left the room and headed upstairs to put her supplies away.

Itzal growled at her comment. Itzal might like Rio, but if he thought she was a threat to him, he would kill her without a thought. And then he would probably go up to her room and sleep in her bed while her body rotted downstairs. If it meant a matter of survival Itzal would kill who he had to, and then he would be happy that at the end of the, he was the one who had survived. But Rio kept doing her work without any sign of following through with her comment.

Itzal and Rio were silent as Rio worked and Itzal drank the rest of the vodka. Rio was still working on his leg when Itzal finished his vodka. So Itzal sat there while she finished stitching his leg, trying to keep his noise to a minimum as he felt every move she made to stitch the wound. By the time she started to wrap his leg up, his jaw had been clenched hard, to the point that his jaw hurt. He let out a breath of relief as she started to wrap the leg and the pain quickly faded. When she patted his ass he growled softly but managed a small smile. Instead of standing up, Itzal rolled so he was resting on his elbows and he could straighten his legs and sit down on the floor. Itzal listened to her tell him to return to her. A week? he thought, I'll be gone by then. Itzal planned on only staying the minimum time he had too. The second his leg could take his wait for any extended period of time, he was leaving for Anathema. And he planned on telling Rio just that when she came back down.

[WC:305 // Pts: 3] Next few posts ending?

By the time she got to the top of the stairs, again, she was pretty exhausted. The whole rush from Itzal’s injuries drained her in that short moment. She dragged her feet slowly toward the bathroom, and placed the supplies in her arms in their places in her master bathroom. She would be taking them out in a short time anyway. When all her things were where they should be, she ambled out of the useless bathroom, out of her room and back down the stairs while thinking of where she would be in a week.

As she made it to the landing, she turned to Itzal, ”Though, you might have to come find me in Cour des Miracles in a week – because I’m pretty sure that’s where I’ll be, by then.” She walked down the last few steps and plopped down on the L-shaped couch, but kept her tired eyes on him. She took her blanket back and began trying to wrap it around herself again. ”You wanna come lay with me?” She summoned him over to her, if he could make it. ”Be careful.” She held a wing of the blanket open to him as she kept her watchful eyes on his fragile (for the moment) form.

Cour des Miracles would be an interesting life. She couldn’t wait to get out of here and really have a home. Not that she didn’t see this house as her home, as it will always be no matter who was living here, but she didn’t feel like Halifax was somewhere one would stay permanently – unless they planned to be a loner forever. She didn’t. She wanted somewhere to go where she would be welcomed and surrounded by wolves she knew and trusted. And so far, she was only surrounded by wolves she knew – but not trusted.

Itzal watched her come down the steps. He knew he shouldn't be angry with her but he wasn't thinking right. He had been about to say something unflattering to her when she mentioned being in Cour des Miracles. That surprised the anger right out of him. Itzal hadn't realized that Rio would be leaving as well. But he was happy for her. She didn't need to be staying in a house with strangers who could hurt her. Itzal watched her grab the blanket and ask him if he wanted to lay with her. Itzal pushed himself up, trying to keep pressure off his leg. He gave a humorless laugh as she told him to be careful but he still managed a weak grin. He ambled over to her, wincing once or twice. Once he reached the couch he sat down, wrapping the blanket she offered to him around his shoulder. Then he looked at her and smiled. He wrapped an arm around her waist and laid out across the couch, pulling her down with him so she was laying in front of him. "I hope you like it in Cour des Miracles. And I'm afraid I won't be able to come find you, because I'm going to be returning to Anathema soon." He said with a smile, the drink mixing up his thoughts some but he was shifting through it. He needed to say this stuff. "Thank you. For everything." He said as he nuzzled the back of her neck. Itzal didn't feel for Rio romantically at all but he did care about her in a sense. And he was grateful for everything she had done for him. And the one time they had sex was pretty good, he thought with a smirk, "And I mean for everything" He whispered in her ear before chuckling. He pulled her tighter against him and laid his head down on the couch, relaxing. He wasn't ready to sleep yet but he was close.

[WC:327 // Pts: 3] Ok.

Itzal ambled over to her carefully, and when he sat beside her, she pulled the blanket over his shoulders. He had a different idea - she wanted to just sit there with him a snuggle - but he pulled her down onto the couch. She didn’t mind that either, though. They were still cuddling nonetheless. Hearing that he was leaving also, Rio wasn’t surprised. Everyone would leave this house eventually. She didn’t foresee anyone staying in this creaky house for more than three months. ”Well, then I’ll come find you - if you want.” She didn't mind taking a trip out to Anathema, even though the territory gave her painful memories to begin with.

They laid there quietly for a few moments before Itzal spoke into her ear and thanked her for everything. Okay, now that kind of made her feel like a hooker - not that she knew the human word and what it meant. She had almost gotten with Aro earlier that day and now Itzal was thanking her for their good time the other day. Rio blushed, but Itzal couldn’t see even if he could look at her straightly. Her black fur hid all of that for her. She managed to squeak out a few words in retaliation, ”No problem.” Saying anytime would definitely put her out there - and she didn’t want that image for herself.

Rio could feel the tiredness tugging at the ends of her eyelids, but she fought sleep. Itzal was leaving her soon - but more important, she was leaving soon. She didn’t know what she would do with the house. She would have to leave it to Harvey since he would be the only one left. Whatever he did with it was in his hands, but she planned on taking every single one of her belongings with her so it didn’t matter if he burned it down or something. Rio sighed and let her eyes slide closed.

Word Count :: 000 || Points: 0 Wrap it up with your post?

Itzal shook his head as she offered to come out and find him. He knew she meant what she said but he didn't want her to have to travel all the way out there for him. Especially when she would be getting settled into a new pack just like him. It would be much easier just to find someone in Anathema or close by to take out the stitches. "No, you don't have to do that. I'll just find someone there who can do it." He said, in a gruff tired voice. Itzal was just realizing how much had happened today to explain why he was so tired. First he had been wounded and lost a lot of blood. And he had been forced to fight Axelle and Eztli. He had battled on both a physical and mental level. And ripping control away from Eztli had drained him mentally. Then there had been the journey to the lake with Axelle and the journey to Rio's house. Where Rio had proceeded to inject him with something and stitch up his wound. Plus the effects of the alcohol. Itzal was amazed he could even form words.

As soon as Itzal realized how tired her should be it was as if the last drops of energy left his body. His eyelids sagged and his breathing deepened. He heard Rio's No problem, in passing, his mind not really registering the words as being addressed to him. Itzal knew that he should keep his eyes open. There was another person in the room, he reminded himself. All of his instincts told him that he should be awake and aware in case of an attack, but at that moment, he was just to tired to care. Rio could kill him for all he cared, as long as he got to sleep while she was doing it. Within minutes Itzal was beyond caring about anything because he was blissfully sleeping.
