Loki and Ananse were growing well. Terra had started feeding them bits of meat, mainly regurgitating it back to them. The slim coyote was fairly certain that if anyone saw how she was raising her pups, in such a feral manner, the pack members would be shocked. They were plenty more civilized than she was. The pack accepted outsiders of all kinds, luckily so Terra didn't have to worry about being treated badly over it. Just strange looks.

Outside Terra watched the brothers play in the nearby stream. She didn't want either of them to get hurt, still tottery in their steps. It was close to the den though, and she couldn't deny them. Ananse fell over, whines escaping him as water rushed over his body. In an instant the mother was there, scooping him up and placing him on the shore. Loki was treated similarly, despite protests. They could return to the water once she calmed down.

There's two stuffed animals. One is a cat, and one is a bear. Then an interactive puzzle, a Peter Cotton tale book, and a tug-of-war toy. :3

It had been a joy being here for Terra and her pups every step of the way. They were growing fast, already able to see and walk around, if not clumsy and uncoordinated. They were little spit fires with an endless amount of energy it seemed. Moss had hidden away his gifts for a few weeks thinking they might be of more use when the pups could walk and play. Now was that time and he was going to give Terra the things him and Adonia had found. He was a bit nervous, hoping she would like the toys or at least be grateful for his gesture. Terra had proven to be less interested in the new ways Luperci raised their children, leaning toward the more traditional manner. He could only hope the toys would be accepted and given to her sons. He wasn't worried about Ananse and Loki's reaction because at this stage, everything was a toy.

Moss made his way to the small cove he'd found to hide the toys away. He decided it would probably be best to bring his stash to her instead of the other way around. Terra was most likely too preoccupied with the balls of fur and energy to come and see them. It would take away from the surprise but it didn't seem to matter much. Moss stuffed the stuffed animals into a large sack along with the pull toy and the puzzle into the bag. The book was put on top so it didn't get ruined. Once everything was inside he slung the bulging sack over his shoulder and made his way back to the den.

He got there in a few minutes. Trying his best to be sneaky and quiet, he made his way up behind her watching the pup's reactions as he walked towards them. Hopefully they wouldn't give away his position. Moss looked like the Luperci version of Santa Clause minute the red outfit and hat. When the rusty colored man got close enough he put on his biggest non-nervous smile and spoke up. Terra! When she looked, he would drop the bag and smile over to her. Come here. I have a present, for you and the puppies. Oh, he was so nervous. There were butterflies fluttering around in his gut as he waited for her and the puppies to come over to where he was.

The wet pups sulked as Terra laid between them and the stream, watching closely to make sure they were alright. The pups both looked up, tails wagging as Moss's familiar form came out. They knew him, if not as intimately as they knew their mother. There wasn't much she could do to change that fact. Or much she was willing to do to change that fact. As young as they were they began to whine, small bodies shaking along with their tails as they began to attempt to waddle towards him. Terra stood up, moving quickly to see what they could possibly have noticed.

Moss! Whining happily she bounded over to his side, standing up and leaning against him, attempting to lick at his face. She could just shift, but that would mean slowing down. Pushing back off Terra looked over to the bag, curiosity on her features. What is it? Perhaps she should change. Impatience won out, grabbing the sack with her teeth and tugging on it. The items inside spilled out, covering the floor. Terra leaped back, tail wagging as she looked over the toys. Wow! Ananse and Loki finally caught up, complaints of being left behind piping up before they slowed down, staring at the treasure trove.

Terra carefully placed the stuffies before the boys, both of them settling on the bear. Growls reverberated between the pair, clumsily trying to push the other away. Laughing she placed Loki onto the cat, the red pup howling triumph when he realized he had one all to himself. Taking a moment Terra shifted into her optime form, bones rotating and stretching to accommodate the new form. Picking up the puzzle she stared at it eagerly, pushing around the pieces. This is great! The book Terra couldn't really use, as simple as her reading skills were. She could write her name, and some basic words, but that was the end of her skill. Standing she hugged him tightly. Thank you.

Moss's smile turned into a wide toothy grin as he saw the puppies react to his approach. They fumbled along clumsily towards where he was standing and he knelt down to greet them. The rusty man was a giant compared to the two growing pups. Terra joined them and pranced over to him in her lupus form. He placed an arm around her as she licked at his face which she could now reach in his bent over form. Why don't you go see? He laughed lightheartedly as her eyes pin pointed the bulging sack. She wasted no time going over to it and pulling it with her teeth causing the contents to spill out on the ground. She had a playful curiosity that was infection and caused his laughter to continue. Finally, the two pups made it over to where the bag was all three of their eyes lighting up brightly. It was comedy seeing them react to his presents and he was so happy to see that Terra seemed interested in what he brought.

The boys fought over the bear, pushing at each other and tugging on the already worn stuffed animal. Soon, Terra turned Loki onto the cat and he was ecstatic to figure out that there were two, one for him and one for his brother. Moss had known that one wouldn't have been enough and that they wouldn't want to share with one another. Luckily he had found a second toy. Terra shifted, but his eyes were glued to the pups as the enjoyed the things he'd brought them. He finally looked at her when she tested the other toy out doing as any child would and pushing at the pieces. I'm glad you think so! She didn't seemed to interested in the book, but she hadn't seen the contents yet. He stood up when she did and returned the hug she offered him. He gave her one of his own bear like hugs and picked her up off of the ground for a slight second before placing her back down. It was something I wanted to do, no need to thank me. I'm glad Ananse and Loki like the animals.

He wasn't done showing off his finds. He picked up the book and opened it in front of her. The pictures were vibrant and colorful, very interesting to look at. He could read the words, but if he spoke them aloud he would sound foolish. The pictures are wonderful and I can read most of this, maybe I can read to them sometime? Not to mention, Adonia had offered to further his reading and writing skills. He had agreed to take her up on that offer excited to be able to read more than a few simple words in a children's picture book. Moss glanced down at the pups as they played, never tiring of the toys. Obviously, they would be put to great use. They love them! I'm so happy. The genuine adoration showed in his eyes as he looked down on them.

She settled into his grasp easily enough, tail wagging as she whined her delight. Laughter filled the air as she rooted through the toys, digging through them with all the delightful air of an excited pup. Moss' attention remained on the pups as she shifted, toying with the puzzle. Terra didn't think too much of it, using his focus as a chance to not have to worry that they would manage to kill themselves in the few brief moments she took to play with his offered toy. Nuzzling into Moss she laughed, a clear sound that rang through the air as he picked her up, floating for a moment before he returned her to the ground, attention returning to the pups as they individually marked their pups with teeth and sitting on them possessively.

One ear remained trained on the pups as she looked at the bright, beautiful pictures. Rabbits covered it, with flashes of greenery all around. She'd never seen a book like that before. Reaching out a hand she ran it over the rabbits, wondering how they had been captured on paper like that. Looking up Terra nodded. I don't see why not. She'd caught Skoll reading aloud before, listening as he brought tales out of the book. Perhaps this was the same, though she saw no reason for it as she could tell the tales that she carried herself, and share them with whoever wanted to hear them. Moss' last words did stir a sharper reaction from her. Not something she'd expected to feel: jealousy. Of course they do. Terra turned back, laying between the pups possessively. They were her pups, not his. And why was he giving them so much attention, and not her?

Somehow, even though Moss didn't know Terra very well and had only spent a short time with the pups, all of this felt right. The laughter that filled the air was a magical sound, one that he would love to hear again and again. One that he would never grow tired of. His own laughed chimed in with her, a much bolder sound, but still full of the joy hers entailed. Terra seemed to accept his offer to read to the puppies once he learned how to not be clumsy and foolish as he read. Soon, Adonia would be giving him lessons. He looked at her and gave her the biggest grin he had in his arsenal already picturing the four of them settling down for bedtime and him reading to the pups. It was a hasty fantasy which he didn't think would play out the way it did in his mind. Moss was always prone to attachments with anyone he came in contact with, whether they were canine or something else.

The next set of actions and words had Moss feeling like an outsider. Terra spoke to him matter-of-factly that of course the pups would like his gifts. She left his side to lay in between them as if to create a barrier between her, the pups, and him. His head tilted and ears flicked back for a moment as the tinge of discontent struck him. Her actions brought him back to the real world from the fantasies that played in his head. She was not his mate, and they were not his pups. He was simply here to help them out, nothing more. Moss lowered his head submissively not wanting to feel imposing to the beautiful reddish woman and her children. Her children. Maybe he had been getting much to involved with them, forgetting who he was in this group. He was an outsider and should behave like so. Moss caught on quickly and his smile faded, an awkward air grabbing hold of him sinking into the pit of his stomach. Maybe he should leave. Moss stood and rubbed the back of his neck looking at the pups as they played then back to Terra. Well, I just wanted to give you and them those gifts. I really am glad they like them. I thought it might make your job a little less tiresome if they had something to focus on.

His laughter was another joyful sound in the clearing, though it quickly disappeared. Her possessive movements had drawn a clear line between them, just as she had intended. He could not take her pups away, he could not have them without her. While Terra enjoyed the affection that he showered on the pups, believing it good for them, and very convenient for her to experience, Terra wanted affection as well, and would lock him out if it meant that she would stay with her pups as the most important ones.

Perhaps she should have felt sorry for the distanced look that flashed in Moss' eyes. He had done nothing but be kind to her, and now she was shutting him out in a childish fit. The thoughts didn't cross her mind though, just staying as she was. Her tail wagged behind her, looking to first Ananse, then Loki. Both of them seemed very happy with the toys. They really like them. At least, that was the only reason she could think of for them drooling on the toys and chewing on them.

Even though Moss was a little sensitive to Terra's actions, he understood that she was their mother and their bond would be deeper than anything imagined. Maybe he shouldn't get so butt hurt about it. She was allowing him to come into the borders and be with her and her puppies. The trust she'd already gave him was respected in his eyes. Moss calmed down a little bit, running his hand through the messy reddish brown hair on top of his head before his smile was returned to him. She was still happy and didn't appear to want him to leave. Good, because he didn't want to leave. I hope you like them too. I mean, not to play with or anything well, you could but...nevermind. Happy I could give them some happiness. Though, it'll never be as grand as what you give them. Just a small token I suppose. Maybe he had rambled a little bit. But her defensive posture had put him in an awkward position, one that he would remain in until she loosened up a little.

Well, what now? He'd given her the toys and she and her pups loved them. The smile on his face widened as he stood there, so persistent every time he was around her and the pups. He gave a small chuckle looking at the three of them together. You guys look like a perfect picture together, you know that? He then looked to Terra. She was lovely, however feral she came off as. It added to her charm. You make a beautiful mother...not that I know anything about being a mother...but you're lovely. Possibly an attempt to charm his way back into her graces after his disrespect. But, he meant ever word of it and it showed in his eyes. He was lucky that she let him get to close to the puppies and he was growing awfully attached to all three of them. Maybe he needed to figure out something to do just for her, to show his thanks. Well, there was his next mission. He wanted to make her happy as well, not just Ananse and Loki.

The tension in Moss' frame began to dissolve as Terra watched the pups play. Eventually Loki grew hungry, abandoning his toy to come and nurse. She allowed it for a few minutes before pushing him away. Standing she went to the den and came back out, dragging an old rabbit with her. Chewing it up she held it forwards. Loki whined, pressing against her frame. He wanted milk, not meat. Terra was adamant however, and the pup was forced to give up his quest. He accepted the meat, quickly gulping down what was given. Ananse came over as well, pushing and nosing as he attempted to eat what Loki had been given.

They make wonderful toys. Not play with them? That hadn't occurred to her. As far as she was concerned these wonderful toys would be kept and played with, by herself and the pups. The presence of someone living is always greater than anything else. A small tidbit of wisdom she'd picked up. As fun as chewing on a stick and setting up traps could be, it was even more fun with someone else to try and take the stick, and fall for her traps. Complimented on her appearance Terra shook her head, looking down. She'd never seen herself, never thought of her appearance beyond using it to con others. Kit had called her beautiful, but he'd vanished. The pups got all the looks. Pulling a face she rolled over, looking up to Moss playfully. Come down?

Moss kept a soft smile on his face as he watched Terra feed the pups. They were stubborn still, not wanting to have a meal that didn't consist of their mother's milk. But, she was stern with them and offered them meat which they eventually took with much prodding. They did made wonderful toys, which is why he brought them back. Though when he was searching for something to bring back he really hadn't known what he was searching for. Adonia had been a great help though and they'd come up with these wonderful treasures. He was glad they were already being used and appreciated by both mother and sons.

Her words were certainly correct. A statement that he could agree with and relate too. Nothing in this world was as great as it was when shared with another living soul and nothing was greater than having ones around you who cared, whether they were friends or family. He nodded and sighed, his wishful thoughts returning to him upon her words. The rusty giant hoped he would find his someone in this world. Yes, that's very true. The world and the wonders it hold would be nothing if we didn't have others to share it with. His eyes flashed to Ananse and Loki before coming back to Terra. She would always have someone to share her world with, now that her sons were with her. Oh how he wished he had children. No worries, he would fight his whole life until he found a mate and settled down.

The beautiful mother seemed to recoil when he mentioned her appearance, shyly gazing down to the floor. He gave a small chuckle and nodded to her offer to come down to them. Thankfully the awkwardness had receded and they were back to the light and refreshing feeling that lingered before. She really was lovely, and funny. His tail swayed upon her initiation to play and he came to kneel above her looking down at her with warm eyes. He was determined to change her mind about her appearance, wanting her to know just how lovely she was. His romantic side kicked in an a hand came to brush against her cheek. They had to have gotten their looks from somewhere and you're their mother, the resemblance is all there....you're lovely. Moss let the words sink in, taking in the sight of her laying there staring up at him. He was so tempted to wrestle around and play with her, but still they didn't know each other very well and he was afraid he would scare her away. Instead, he gave a playful growl and lowered himself to nudge her against the neck before he rolled himself onto his back beside her.

Why was he suddenly sad? Tilting her head Terra studied Moss. He was lonely, wasn't he. The price of living as a loner. He didn't have to be anymore though. Not that he knew her. Terra was always willing to spend time with a friend. Well, as long as it didn't get in the way of her games. She was always off to do different things. Usually she was dragging others along with her, rarely slowing down to check in on them.

Their eyes met, his hand brushing softly along her cheek. It felt nice, a warm tingle flushing where he touched. Her tail swayed, unable to look away from his eyes. A shy smile sparked up. Terra didn't laugh it off, just letting it lay there, not accepting or rejecting the words. She just took them in, and thought about it. The playful nudge brought one from her, bumping him with her nose and growling as she moved to tug on his ear.

She was so sweet, a smile arising in response to his touch only making his grow wider. Terra was shy to thoughtful words it seemed, but that only made her all the more charming. As moss fell onto his back, the lady nudged him as well coming to pull at his ear. He laughed a brisk laugh and leaned into it, one eye squinting shut as she tugged at him. It had been a long time since he'd played with anyone, let alone a beautiful woman.

Moss tilted his head to pull away and brought his muzzle up, nudging at her as though he were in his lupus form. It was a big odd playing like they were in their two legged forms, but this is the way Terra was. She was raw, sinking back to their roots as canines in the way she lived her life and acted on a daily basis. It was refreshing to say the least. Back in his old back, there was always drama going on about him or someone else, maybe even something from the past, them adapting a more civilized lifestyle. It was one he hadn't grown too fond of and Moss always had an open mind. So when he played with her as though they were in Lupus form, it didn't bother him one bit and he found himself getting into to it, his mood becoming more impish as they played. His assault of nudges continued as wolfish groans poured from his mouth, a hand placed on her forearm lightly. She could pull away if she wanted. He was careful not to cross any boundaries with her, they were still getting to know each other. His last move was a nip at her scruff paired with a slight nudge, prodding her to play some more.

Terra pushed back at the nudge, tail swaying. Green eyes glimmered with a dare inside, ready to run if Moss decided to chase. They couldn't go too far. She still needed to keep close to the den and watch her pups. Currently Ananse had decided that the stuffed cat Loki had was better than his bear, and had stumbled off his own to come over and fight with his brother again. Swiftly Terra separated them, a brief squall rising from Ananse before he became distracted with a rather large stick, almost as big as he was.

He rose partly up, nudges following after her. Butting his head Terra pushed against him, her tiny form temporarily engulfed in his grasp. It was warm against him, safe. His teeth nipped at her scruff, the young coyote returning the favor with her own nip at his cheek. Slipping back out from under his grasp Terra stood, dancing over to where the stream was. Stepping in she turned around, winking over at Moss. Coming?

Moss did his best to dodge her nudges while at the same time deliver his own. He was a big guy though, and it was hard for her to miss him. He had a look of pure joy on his face. Right now, he was possibly having the most fun he'd had in a long time. In a way, he felt like a child again as he played, not a single care on his mind at the moment. The brute growled, and groaned, pushing his large form against her in an attempt to overwhelm her. She had a look in her eye that said she was challenging him, and so he took it up a notch still being gentle and vigilant of her reactions to him. Eventually, she broke away to go tend to her pups and he removed his hand from her, chuckling lightly as he watched Ananse tempt to steal Loki's toy cat. He rested his head on the grass and smiled as he watched Terra fix the problem, not before Ananse gave her a small fight. But, the puppy quickly decided that he didn't need to argue when he had a treasure like the stick he'd found.

The woman's assaults on him continued and she was pushing into him, head butting him, doing whatever she could against the gentle giant. At one point, her whole body was against him and he froze for a slight moment. A nervous feeling surrounding him as the small woman lay by his side. His ears flicked back, and then forward again as he resumed his play, putting his arm around her as his muzzle dove into her scruff. Nipping and nudging away. Her teeth retaliated, grabbing hold of the skin on his cheek. He let his head fall, surrendering to her. She wiggled to get out and his light grasp once again released from her allowing her to run free. She got up and pranced over to the river. Her movements were fluid, and his eyes were drawn to her the whole way over there. She entered and turned back to him to give him a wink. Oh? He gave a dopey smile and got up, running over to where she was and wasting no time to get in.

Once in, he waded for a few moments, looking brightly over to Terra. He bent down to cup some water to drink from his palms. It was fresh and crisp and now his face was wet with the rejuvenating liquid. He cupped some water again and splashed his face letting out a refreshed 'aaaaah' sound. From his bent down position, he looked up at Terra from the corner of his eye, a sly grin on his face. A hand came down to flick some water at her, not much but enough to get her attention. Then his eyes focused on the stream again, pretending he didn't do it.

She hadn't thought much of how close their frames were. It had been warm and nice and safe, and then she was slipping back into her own boisterous world of danger. Terra hadn't even picked up that he had changed for that split moment. If she had she certainly would have pressed on, trying to understand why he had reacted in that way. A large grin was on Moss' face, lazy and friendly and completely sweet, Terra wanting to just draw closer to his presence and nuzzle in.

The feeling passed, Moss bounding over to where she was and joining her in the water. Terra's tail swished, just letting the cold seep around her as she moved around. Their play was on pause for the moment, both relaxing in the autumn air. The flicked water grabbed her attention, studying Moss. He was doing well, faking innocence, but he was before a master at pretending she wasn't guilty. Immediately Terra flicked water back at him, a larger amount, before backing up and pretending she wasn't involved.

The Scottish giant continued to wet his face, completely ignoring Terra's presence. He thought he had gone unnoticed, but then water was sent his way wetting the side of him. It seeped easily into his short coat. Immediately he knew who was the cause, but when he turned to confirm his suspicions, Terra was no longer standing next to him. She was closer to the shore, looking away from him staring off nonchalantly. A chuckle arose from him. She was good, better than he apparently. No need for discretion now that a war had been started. Moss used the flat of his hand to send a splash her way, before turning to wade away from her trying to escape any counter attack she might have. He wasn't so good at slipping away like she had done before, without so much as a noise. He made a splash every time one of his thick legs would lift out of the water and fall back again making even more splashes.

Moss turned to look at her, smiling from a distance. Would she dare come after him with an assault of her own, now that the pretending had been put aside? His tail swayed excitedly happy to be having fun with her, Ananse and Loki only a short distance off having some boyish fun of their own. He could get used to this. It was like him to settle in, take what was in front of him and get comfortable, only to have it all taken away at the last moment. Even though that always seemed to happen, he never got discouraged and would always hold onto the things that made him happy. He wasn't easily put down. If anything would go wrong here, it already knew it would be his fault. He could only hope for the best, and keep doing as he was doing helping Terra with her pups and getting to know her better. He tried to push away the thoughts of the things that could happen. Maybe the Alpha would get mad and ban him, or maybe Eilam would make an appearance and scare her off, maybe even cause him to do something he would regret. Enough of the bad thoughts, right now was about fun and that's what he planned on doing, having fun.

She shot him a look of pretended confusion, wondering what he found so funny. Terra knew exactly what was going on, so was prepared when he took the war out into the open. The splash struck her even with her attempts at backing off, soaking through her fur. Growling playfully she shook her head, tail swaying. She was wet now! Moss' retreat was sloppy, splashing high over everything. He was getting himself pretty soaked trying to avoid it!

Stifling a laugh Terra watched languidly, letting him take some distance. Circling around Terra did her best to keep out of splash range. Once she'd decided she was at optimum distance she lunged forwards, moving to grab Moss and dunk him in the water. Whether or not she got wet wasn't the point, as long as she got him wet at the same time. Terra forgot about the great size difference, just seeing someone she was determined to soak.

Initiation completed. His single splash had her dripping with the chilling water from the stream. He was smart to get away from her as quick as he could. Moss knew she'd have a counter attack ready in no time. His goofy laughs lifted into the air as he waded away and even after he got a comfortable distance from Terra. His tail swayed joyously as he waited for her to get revenge on him. Soon, she charged and he threw splashes at her the whole way. She made it hard for him to hit her but he tried his best, backing up some as he came close. But, she was fast, her light body moved much easier through the water than his. Soon, she closed the gap and jumped at him. Terra was persistent with her attempts to dunk him using all of her strength against him.

The rusty giant did his best to avoid being dunked, but it was hard with her trying with so much effort. Moss chuckled as he leaned forward, the woman pushing him consistently. Eventually, he lost his balance and gave in to her tries, falling forward into the stream becoming soaked from head to toe. The giant arose from the stream, water seeping from every inch of him. He made it a point not to shake off before chasing after Terra. His arms were open as he waded forward, determined to get her in his grasp. If he was able to catch her, all the water from him would soak her more than she was already. It was a simple counter attack, but he couldn't really top being dunked in the stream by someone half his size and if he did the same to her it simply wouldn't be fair. So, he lunged forward making any grab for her he could and hopefully, she would be stuck in a Moss bear hug.

Her small frame twisted, splashes stroking against her as she ran through. Some she managed to dodge, crowing with delight at the movement. Others hit her full on, her body growing more damp as she moved. It didn't discourage her in the slightest, ready to take her revenge against him and tackle him down. Legs bending she sprung through the air, scrambling over his back. Moss twisted, the giant hybrid doing his best to knock her down from her position atop his body. She pushed as hard as she could, clinging on wildly as he swung around to dislodge her.

Her persistence did eventually set him off balance, toppling down to the water. Lightly the coyote pushed off, landing on the ground by her pups. Shaking her slightly wet form she smiled over at the brothers, the pair settled down. Their wide eyes stared at her as she stretched, unsuspecting of what was coming up. The sopping noise from behind alerted her, twisting to find a soaked male slowly moving forwards to take his revenge. Shrieking a little she darted forwards, but not fast enough. Plastered against his wet fur Terra quickly grew as damp as him, laughing at the exposure.

The agile woman had made it to the shore before he could even arise from the water. Once his massive body lifted from the stream he meandered towards her coming form the river and leaking all over the grass. He had a comical look on his face as he took giant steps after her. It seemed he'd caught her off guard as she hadn't turned to look at him until he was only a few feet away. The surprised look on her face only added to his impish mood and a lion like roar came from his throat as he lunged forward. His arms outstretched and wrapped around her, securing her in his grasp. A loud chuckle rumbled through his chest as he hugged her tightly, lifting her off of the ground for a moment only to set her down again.

A playful growl emanated from his maw as he hugged her, thoroughly soaking her recently shook off fur. His eyes drifted to the pups who stared at them with puzzled expressions, probably wondering what the two adults were doing. Got your mom!! Think I'll just steal her away. Sorry boys. He laughed and then buried his muzzle into the crook of her neck. For the moment, Moss forgot that he wasn't Terra's mate and that the puppies weren't his sons. It was a good feeling. The giant growled lightly as he buried his head into her, a laugh interrupting his playful noises. After a few moments, his arms released her, resting on either side of her arms. He didn't want to let her go and slip back into reality, even though he knew better. A large toothy grin still adorned his muzzle as he smiled down onto the woman still in his moment of joy.
