Lucias nestled tightly into her mother's arms, fast asleep. Amy walked through the streets, occasionally glancing down at the black pup. The joy of having her living, and healthy, was something she didn't even know if she could describe. The burden of who the father was almost shrank in comparison. Almost. She was still planning on carving him like a pig when she found him. And she wouldn't be caught off guard again either.

Entering a strange shop Amy walked through, eyes skimming over the strange clothing. Full dresses covered it, with tight suits. Moths had eaten parts of the fabric, but it was surprisingly well preserved. The fabric could perhaps be used for something else. It was the weapons in the back that attracted her attention though. She'd passed through before, thinking they were false, but a second look had revealed that some were real. Now she'd take her pick of them.

Two days ago, Kohaku had learned things he never wanted to know. Okay, that wasn't entirely true, but he really didn't like the WAY he had learned them. The mysteries of puppies and their origins was no longer a mystery, and Kohaku felt sick every time he remembered the birth of Amy's new favorite. The young male resented Lucias. She was born in a nasty way and took all of Amy's attention. On top of that, Amy fawned over Lucias and was gentle to the infant in a way that she had never been towards Kohaku. It only made the reality that Kohaku was not her son even more painful and apparent.

As usual, the teething pup walked around with a bone in his mouth and followed Amy like a lost duckling. After going trough two bones, the young male was getting better at controlling his jaws and not breaking his toys. As Amy inspected knives, the pup busied himself by sniffing everything and satisfying his curiosity. There were enough worn out dresses and shiny objects to capture the attention of any young canine for hours. Kohaku pawed at a few of the more ragged objects as he chewed furiously on his bone, debating if it would be worth the yelling to grab one and rip it to shreds.

Eventually, Kohaku decided to just go with it. If he got yelled at, the so be it. Dropping his bone, Kohaku grabbed one of the rattier costumed and pulled. He growled ferociously, but his bi-colored tail wagged furiously. With several tugs, the dress ripped and fell, causing the rack of dresses to rock dangerously back and forth. Kohaku froze and watched intently as the rack rocked a few times before settling down again. Satisfied, the boy turned to old dress and began to growl and chew at the fabric.

252 - Sky's in her lupus form. I hope the PP for the group is okay.

The team's orders were simple; find and deal with Amy Sunders. They'd been instructed to go to Halifax and while Sky was hesitent to leave home, she knew what had to be done. With Jiva and Kiara on either side of her, the wolfdog headed off to complete the mission, her mind buzzing with questions but no answers. Amy Sunders was the enemy and that was all she needed to know- the rest was simply fuel to add to the fire burning in the subord's stomach. This was one of those times for dynamite.

The trio made it to Halifax in good time, traveling in their lupus forms to shorten the time it would take to get there. Upon entering the city, the first thing Sky did was start searching for a scent- dog and wolf puppy. That was all she needed. No one else would have quite the same scent mixture, she was sure. So when the tang of domestic blood finally did cross her senses, the woman stopped. Sure enough, not a few feet away, the scent of a young wolf, male. Perfect.

"They came this way recently." Sky murmured to her group. "We should be able to catch up to them. We should stay low and keep quiet- our best chance at catching them lies in the element of surprise." She turned to look back at Kiara and Jiva, hoping they'd agree. "Let's shift up to secui. It'll be easier for us to overtake her that way."

Ever since the disappearance of Titania and the death of her puppies Jiva felt the need to get out and do something and this mission was the perfect thing. He had a month before Drin was due so he knew that she would be ok in the pack with the others. Now he was with Skye and Kiara. They were his partners and to keep up he donned his Lupus form. It was his most natural one but he felt he was wronging drin especially after a few of his hunts and runs. She was stuck where she was and he just changed like that... not in front of her but he just felt like he was doing her wrong, but he knew this was needed.

Sky spoke and he lifted his nose trying see if he could get the scent, but was unable to. He looked at Sky as she instructed further. He blinked at her and shook his head; “I can’t go into my Secui form... It... I don’t know why but I’m strong in my lupus, i’m fast too, so i can catch up and keep her from getting away if needed.” He said confidently. His father could not take the secui form either. Jiva tried but it was as though the ability was blocked to him. Niro never tried to make him go into that form when he could and he said he had the same problem. It was ok it wasn’t always needed, but now just the idea of extra power would have helped him greatly.

Kiara hadn't just asked to join this mission, she had begged to join it. There was every possibility that she could rescue her son and Kiara was not going to let the opportunity pass her by. It had been months since she had last seen Kohaku, his tiny face still a sharp image in her mind. The image of his lopsided smile and bright blue eyes made her heart ache. The pup had only been two months old when he disappeared, and Kiara could only imagine the horrors that Amy had put him through since then.

The closer they got to Amy, the more Kiara's body shook with anticipation and anger. It was all she could do to keep herself from running straight to the city and forgoing the others. In her mind, it took them far to long to reach Halifax, and once there Kiara had nearly driven herself crazy while she searched for Kohaku.

To her utter disappointment, it was Sky would found the trail first. Kiara moved over to the trail, her black nose twitched as she tried to pick out Kohaku's scent. But it wasn't there, at least, not the one she remembered. Kohaku had once carried the scent of the earthen den where he was born, as well as the smell of fresh rain and leaves. The scent that Sky had found smelled more like wet dog, wood, and spices. This was not the scent that Kiara remembered. However, there was no doubt that Amy's scent was there. The realization that her son had changed so much was frustrating and disappointing. Just what had Amy done to him?

Kiara nodded reluctantly at Sky's instructions. They were smart, but the tactic was too slow for the impatient mother. She wanted nothing more than to charge forward and rip Amy's throat out. However, that was a stupid and ill-conceived idea. Impatience turned to shock as Jiva spoke of his inability to shift into the secui form. Kiara had assumed that all of the native born luperci could control their shifts, so to hear that Jiva could not was surprising. "Well, at least one of us will be in secui." The arctic female shuffled her feet as she waited for Sky's command.

Holding up a particularly ornate one Amy snorted. The balance in the blade was awful, as bad as if it had been fake. A plainer one with some nice leather casing was much better off. Amy tested the weight carefully before nodding to herself, agreeing that the balance was right. Hearing something move Amy turned around, watching Kohaku stare at a wobbling rack, a dress at his feet. Amy briefly considered whether it was worth yelling at him before deciding to let him have free rein. The cloth was pretty moth bit anyways. She could find some better stuff.

Knife pocketed she continued along, fingering a bright velvet green. Dust covered the dress, not the best feel for it. She couldn't tell what shade of green it was meant to be. Pulling off the dress she placed that in her bag. Lucias' whimpers brought her attention, stroking her daughter once before she returned to take more knives. Each one was carefully tested, but only three others were selected. Satisfied she moved out, freezing in the frame of the door. Lifting her head she sniffed the air. Members from New Dawn. She couldn't pick out the individual scents, but they were there, and there was enough for her to be wary of them. Kohaku. Come. It looked like the visit would have to be cut short.

For a short while, the pup kept one green eye locked on Amy. He wanted to see if she would yell at him, if she would come over and rip the cloth away. Or perhaps she would praise him for taking what he wanted. Sometimes she did that. However, Amy only turned around briefly to watch him as he played with the moth eaten cloth. The golden dogs attention was quickly taken by her black bundle of annoyance. All it did was whimper, eat, and sleep. There was nothing good about it. Kohaku pouted a little before he returned his attention to the dress. The pup pulled sharply as he took his frustration out of the rag. A pleasant rip ran through the air as it stretched along the dress. Happy, Kohaku shook his head and allowed the fabric to whip around his head.

Amy's voice broke through Kohaku's loud play and he stood. The dress hug limp in his mouth as his ears and tail stood erect. There was a tense finality in his caretaker's voice that made Kohaku slip out of his puppy mode and into the more serious demeanor that he took whenever Amy gave him a lesson. Dropping the dress, Kohaku scooped up his bone and ran to Amy's side. He raised his muzzle to sniff the air, catching whiff's of canines that smelled like Shadow. The pup gave a soft woof, conveying that he could smell the other's although he wasn't sure what it meant. Green eyes turned up to Amy, a question floating in his trusting orbs. Where they the wolves who hunted Amy?

354 - Sky's now in her Secui form. The idea is for Jiva to run ahead and cause a distraction, but try to keep up with the original plan of herding them towards an ambush- which won't be easy, but hopefully... XD

Jiva admitted that he couldn't shift and Sky openly rolled her head back in a sigh of defeat. She'd have to be the muscle, then. Great. Kiara couldn't shift- she knew that much, at least. When the white lady made her comment, Sky rolled her head back down to them both. "Alright then, here's the plan." How she became the plan maker was beyond her, but she could easily handle the job- she'd done these kinds of things plenty of times before. She knew the drill, she knew how to win it.

"Kiara, you're with me. Jiva, follow the scent and lure them into the open." She turned to him pointedly and pushed her face into his shoulder. "Don't let them touch you. We've got to bring you back in one piece." She murmured, just for him. Next came Kiara. As she turned to the white lady, she did the same for her, brushing her face into the white lady's fur gently.

"If we see your boy, secure him. If we can't manage to bring Amy back, the least we can do it bring Kohaku home." She finished her speech and turned to follow the scent further, except...

A soft whuffing sound just barely made it to her ears. She dropped low as if her legs were made of paper, belly brushing the ground as her ears and full attention was turned to the sound. Sure enough, Amy's scent drifted from the spot she watched, eyes careful. "...there. Guys, get ready- looks like we might've lost our advantage." If she could scent them, hear them, surely Amy could smell them easily. Time for action. She shifted where she crouched, the transition smooth and well practiced, quick and controlled, into Secui form.

"Kiara, you're with me. Jiva, distract them. Pull attention away from us. Whatever you do, don't let either of them get away." With that, she gave the signal- a sharp 'whuff' of air and she nudged Kiara in the right direction, keeping to the shade for cover. As soon as Jiva caught their attention, it would be show time.

OOC: short and sweet!

Jiva knew exactly what he would be doing. It was as though they were on the hunt, a hunt for deer, but this time it was wolves. Wolves that hurt his pack and he knew he could do it. He nodded at Sky and grinned thoughtfully. He would pretend the devil woman was a deer he would do what he could to herd her and the pup if he was with her towards his packmates, then they would take the next step. He was what counted on getting them. There were only two targets so it would be a bit harder than normal. Sky ducked and so did he but at her signal he was off, first quiet to give illusion that he came from a nother part of the city, then he let himself give off sound and starte growling. He knew where the woman was, but other than that he was running nearly blind through a dead city.

He was running towards the woman hoping to make her turn around and head towards Sky and Kiara, then his job would be done, if anything he would distract them into helping the other two get as close as possible.

The tawny female's disappointment was understandable and Kiara could feel her chest tighten as Sky shook her head. They didn't have much muscle, and when it came to fighting Amy, they would need all the muscle they could get. The snow wolf's ears fell to the side and her shoulders sagged. She shouldn't have come. Kiara wasn't fighter, and despite her scars, that much as obvious. As an arctic wolf, Kiara was privileged with a lean, swift body that didn't tire easily. Perfect for hunting, but did little to help the Kiara without the proper training.

Kiara gave an affirmative snort as Sky rolled out her plan. The mention of Kohaku made the young mother become hyper focused. Her eyes blazed with an unquenchable rage, and her body grew still as the hairs of her back rose like needles. As if brought about by some miracle, a small woof and the scent of wolves and dogs grew stronger. Jiva had run off to create a distraction, but all Kiara could think about was her son. Sapphire eyes strained as she looked for any sign of him. The muscles in her body coiled and held, making her shake with anticipation as Kiara waited for any glimpse of Kohaku's colorful body. There was a gently nudge and the subordinate female followed the more dominant wolf mechanically. Her sense's felt like they were on fire, each one honed in for any chance or opportunity to grab Koahku. That was all she cared about. Any thoughts of revenge had flown away as the hope of rescuing her son grew.

Kohaku's swift action brought a smile from Amy, brown eyes dancing over him. He was growing well, and wouldn't be remaining a pup for much longer. Right now his obedience was necessary. It could be life or death in how swiftly he responded to her commands. Looking back up Amy spoke quietly. They are the ones who would harm us. I smell three of them. We will have to move. Amy did not think she could fight properly when carrying Lucias. Retreat would be necessary.

Lifting her head Amy stepped out, tail high behind her. This was her area, not theirs. She knew the city, and knew it well. Turning her head Amy smiled, fangs flashing. This was interesting. One had split off from the rest of the group. Would he try to drive them? By himself? She wasn't some mindless prey to be treated in such a way. Actually, this gave her a new toy to play with. So nice of them to leave their pack and offer her one. Kohaku, one of them came alone. Her steps were swift, heading over towards the lone scent. Spotting a solitary male crouched down, frame thin, she bit back a laugh. Drawing a throwing knife she threw it, swift in her movement as she aimed for his back. She wouldn't kill him, just prevent him from escaping.

The boy's quick action brought that coveted smile from Amy and only made Kohaku want to obey more. Amy wasn't always kind, but Kohaku was always seeking for her approval. He wanted her gentle pets and soft smiles, her affection and love. Sometimes, he like to pretend that Amy really was his mommy and that she loved him like she loved Lucias. It was an illusion, but one that Kohaku thoroughly enjoyed.

Quiet words answered Kohaku's question and immediately brought back an air of seriousness to the situation. They were being hunted by a strange pack, although Kohaku couldn't for the life of him, figure out why. The pup's colorful tail stopped wagging, but remained high. His heckles stood a little while his jade eyes burned. Kohaku wouldn't let anyone get to Amy. He followed her obediently out the door and looked quickly around. Red ears turned as his nose scanned for scents. They were close, but Kohaku didn't have the experience to tell where they were or how far away. Amy gave a laugh, and announced the seperation. Kohaku's body shook a little in anticipation as he quickly followed the golden dog, keeping close to her heels.

The sound of growling close by caught Kohaku's attention and he swiveled his head to stare at a red and tan wolf. As Amy let loose a knife, the five-month old charged forward. His muscles were tense and blood pounded like war drums in his ears. After letting loose a vicious growl of his own, Kohaku tried to nip at the other's heels. It was mostly meant as a distraction and a way to prevent the aggressing male from getting too close to Amy.

171 - Short post. Sky's going for Amy's ankles, coming from behind.

As Sky and Kiara rounded the buildings, the view of Amy and Jiva became spotted at best, quick peeks as they passed between brick and wood. The sharp gleem of a blade caught her eye just as they arrived at a good spot and she didn't wait much longer than that. Softly, barely a whisper and in low speech, she turned to Kiara with a rumble. A reminder not to lose her head, to keep focused on her part of the plan- Retreive Kohaku and keep him under custody while she and Jiva dealt with Amy.

And then, with a flick of her head, the hunt was on. She managed to catch her footing well enough and the brown vet burst from between two buildings across from the one the trader had been in a moment before. She looped around behind Amy and headed in for a full-on attack, jaws aimed for the woman's ankles. Rid all chances of escape and the battle would be theirs. Should anything go wrong...

Things took to the worse as a knife came straight at him. Lucky enough he was able to just barely miss it as he saw the motion Amy made and he was luckily far enough away, unfortunately it was more a rouse than anything as he found himself being attacked by a puppy, and even though his teeth were small they were still deadly, and Jiva was at a loss to the boys nipping teeth. If Jiva was right, this was Kiara’s daughter, but the moment made him forget to speak and he was dancing around backing away from the puppy.

He did let out a defensive growl and as he moved back snapped at the boy not intending to hurt him at all, but knew his bigger maw and physique would help him in overpowering him, and if he was able to grab the puppy in a way that no little paws and teeth would hurt him he would gladly pick the boy up. If his thoughts were correct, rescuing the puppy was a high priority. It was hard with the wild five month old and Jiva didn’t get a chance to get him at all, and he was just trying to keep the boy from hurting him, he got a few good nips on Jiva and the young man pulled back further.

It was as if the whole world had collapsed in on itself, leaving only Kohaku and herself there. Kiara could see nothing else, hear nothing else, smell nothing else. Her heart seemed to burst with relief and shock as she rounded the corner and spotted his clear frame. He had grown so much since she last saw him. Kohaku was almost as big as her, although his body was long and lanky due to his youth. There was an evident mane on the back of his neck, an extra padding of fur that showed off his southern blood. Yet, he showed signs of having Kiara's broad neck and shoulders, perfect for sprinting and stamina. He was beautiful.

The snowy mother didn't hear Sky's warning, nor did she follow Sky's lead. For a moment, Kiara stood frozen as she forgot herself. For months, Kiara had believed that her son was dead, and even after learning of his kidnapping some part of her still couldn't believe it. Seeing him was an eye opener, but seeing what he was doing was even worse. Without hesitation or remorse, Kohaku actually began to attack Jiva. He followed the golden dog's command and seemed like he was happy to do it.

Without any more hesitation, Kiara surged forward, aiming directly for Kohaku. She would drag him home if she had too.

Laughter rang out, watching Kohaku torment the poor lone male. Keeping close she lowered her head, speaking softly. Gentle with your new toy. It would be a shame if he broke too soon. Eyes gleaming she kept her eyes open, smelling blood from the nips that Kohaku delivered. He did so well at times like this, ferocious and unforgiving. Her tail swayed happily behind her, for the moment just thinking about the prey that she had captured. The scents of others arrived soon though, reminding Amy that they couldn't stick around.

Twisting out of the way of the large attacking wolf Amy smirked, striking out with her claws. She didn't care about the secui wolf much though. Her top priority was getting between Kohaku and Kiara. Leaping past she made herself a barrier. Kohaku, playtime's over. Run. She wouldn't let them hurt her precious pup, or confuse him. Lucias let out a soft whimper, snuggling closer in. Amy's eyes darted down, wishing that she hadn't been born at such an awful time. Caring for her would be difficult when on the run. Backing up Amy was prepared to break into a full sprint to escape as soon as Kohaku was off.

A fevered joy began to take over the boy as he struck air several times. His mouth was a mishmash of puppy teeth and adult incisors, making the constant snapping feel a little awkward. Although he had grown fairly large for an arctic wolf mix, the five month old was no threat to a fully grown wolf. Yet the red male balked and backed away as if he were truly scared that Kohaku might seriously bring him harm. Kohaku's fur bristled and he raised his tail so high that it almost hurt his back to do so. An unmistakable gleam of mischief and malevolence glowed in his emerald orbs as he struck at the older wolf again, still hitting only air.

Red ears pricked as a defensive growl burst forth from the older male, followed quickly by a strike of his own. Kohaku flattened to the ground, just barely managing to avoid the clashing of teeth. Adrenaline began to pump through his lanky body as his heart sped up. If the stranger got a hold of him, Kohaku could easily be dead. Strengthening his resolve, Kohaku began to bite faster, trying to prevent the other from striking again. Amy's laugh burst forth, causing on of the pup's ears to flick back as he listened. Yes, the red male was his toy. Kohaku had nothing to fear.

When at last his teeth hit flesh, Kohaku began to feel better. His fear began to die as the other continued to back away, making Kohaku growl in triumph. Again and again, teeth hit flesh, but there was barely any damage done. Just as Kohaku was getting ready to change the game, Amy brought him back with her commands. Reluctantly, the pup broke away from his game, turning towards his golden guardian. Kohaku sprinted towards her, almost tripping over his own lanky legs as he took his place by her side.

209 - Sky's aiming to get around them quickly, in hopes her feigned attack will distract them from noticing. xD She's also being very dramatic- as usual.

It was all falling into place- for the most part. Sky whirled around when her teeth met air instead of fur. Claws raked her own fur, but the thickness of her coat kept her unharmed- tufts went flying, though, shedded in the line of duty. She landed easily on front paws, twisted, landing hind paws on the ground, facing Amy. A blur of darker fur shot past her left and she knew in a moment that the pup had to have been Kohaku. Amy using the pup's name was disgusting, even to Sky.

When the pair were together, a tiny whelp carried in the dog woman's arms, Sky felt... pleased. She gave a sharp yip to her packmates, a sign to fall together, and headed the attack herself. She snapped her jaws together as she pushed forwards. "For your crimes against New Dawn, you have been judged." She barked, feinting an attack at the woman by skirting at the last second. "You have been found guilty by the pack and for this, your debt will be paid." Her words were venomous, tone flat and controlled. She moved to circle them, to get on their other side, to close them in- hopefully putting them between herself and her packmates.

Jiva’s attentions could only be on the boy trying to rip his legs apart, though he was still a puppy and still had most of his milk teeth.... they still hurt and they still could do damage. Jiva growled wondering why the boy as a captive wanted to hurt Jiva; “Damn it boy we aren’t here to hurt you.” He called out, jumping away from a really hard bite from the boy, but that was when he ran to Amy. The woman who’d thrown her knife at Jiva. He growled and lowered his head, but kept his spot. He was sure it was best to keep spread out just in case. In case of what he did not know but he was trying to be ready for anything possible. His head was lowered ears were back and tail was straight up, he was ready to charge if he could, but he waited for Sky and Kiara first. He knew he couldn’t hurt the woman, not after her first attempt that came so close to getting him right in the face.

There he was, only a few wolf lengths away. Kiara couldn't help it, she couldn't stop herself for charging forward. Amy or no Amy, she would get her puppy back. But, as usual, the golden mutt somehow managed to get in her way. Amy stood as a living barrier, causing the young mother's heckles to raise as she let loose a ferocious growl. Sky was fighting with Amy, yet the female was still able to block her path. Her eyes drifted to Kohaku, watching in horror as he relentlessly attacked Jiva. There was a joy and satisfaction in his eyes that matched Amy's. Kiara could feel her heart freeze as her heckles drooped. What was he doing?

As if to make matters worse, Kohaku readily listened to Amy's instructions. As soon as she gave the command, he darted towards her. Taking an opportunity while Amy was distracted, Kiara lunged towards Kohaku. They were almost as big as each other, but Kiara had her extra weight. Her white coat blended with Kohaku's as they fell. She could feel the little male squirming beneath her, his paws raking against the ground as he struggled to get out from under her. Kiara growled a warning, and grabbed the back of his neck. She bit down hard enough to get a good grip, he wouldn't get away.

The arctic mother met her sons eyes and saw fury in his emerald orbs. He blamed her, he hated her. Kiara couldn't help but let her ears droop as she saw the hatred in his eyes. Kohaku despised her. In her moment of weakness, Kohaku broke free. He had pushed against the ground, and managed to get a good bite on her foreleg. There was no blood, but the bite was painful enough to make Kiara yelp. In an instant the boy was off, dashing away from his mother and stopped only long enough to see if Amy was following. Kiara stood frozen, her mind had gone blank as it tried to process what she had just witnessed. Why did Kohaku follow Amy? Why did he hate his own mother?
