To burn inside with an outer ease

There had been a perceptible change in Orin almost overnight. After that day at the amphitheater with Terra she had a new thing to focus her attention on, something to keep her mind busy instead of dwelling on the losses of the past. Oh, of course she would still mourn her lost children, and nothing would ever erase that pain, but this could be the start of the mother’s true healing. There was still plenty to be thankful for in her life; she loved her pack, had an adorable daughter, and a wonderful mate. Plus, her two older daughters were both out in the world, each cutting away the brush and making their own paw print on the Earth, too.

Now there was hope. Hope for a better life. It was just a small glimmer, a little tendril, but Orin knew that she could do something more with herself than continue this cycle of love and tragedy. It could be all love, if she worked hard enough, and with the help of her mate and her pack.

Lately she had been sleeping in late into the morning, too languid to get out of bed, but she had woken up early this morning - the moment the first orange hues of light pierced the veil of darkness – and hopped out of bed, trying to be quiet to prevent waking Mars, if he wasn’t up already. She skittered down the hall and into the kitchen and rifled through the food stores, finding a slab of venison jerky and slicing off a helping for herself. She gnawed on the meat while she tidied up, the morning greeting her with birdsong and dew kissed grasses. It was almost sickeningly perfect, and Orin stared out the window admiring the beauty of the morning.

She glanced down the hall, wondering if Mars would be up anytime soon, but she didn’t want to wake him. She wanted to visit the costume shop and maybe take another look at the amphitheater, so she grabbed her pink cloak that had been tossed over the back of the chair and donned the vibrant cloth for the first time in a season. There were a few books on the table, some she had dug up last night after getting home, so she gathered them up into her arms and opened the front door slowly.

Svetlana had super sonic hearing, so when the door creaked she held her breath and peered back over her shoulder. Had the pup or Mars woken up?

ooc: Hey yeah, i have no phone anymore, so Pm me pleaases <3.

He'd finally been able to sleep peacefully. This night was a long one though, and he did not get to sleep until well into the night, long past the time that his daughter and his mate had fallen into their own slumbers. For the duration of the time that he was awake, he had played with Orin's hair, and just watched his family sleep, like he was on guard-duty. His body was tense so he was. He'd been on edge for some time now, and he would be on edge for a long time. He knew he would be. Once the moon was preparing to go back to sleep, Mars had drifted off into a slumber, in which neither Bartholomew, nor Hurricane took control of the body. The body was worn, tired, and it needed sleep to regain at least some strength, and some degree of sanity. Physical sanity at least. You knew he needed the sleep when he was dragging about, and babbling nonsense. He slept though, and it was a deep sleep, restful sleep that it seemed that nothing would snap you out of it. It was the sleep that you didn't want to be ripped out of.

His dreams were of nothing, a simple limbo that consisted of just, nothingness. It was silent, peaceful. He loved it. There was nothing to intrude on his nothingness, and he just enjoyed it so throughly that he didn't want to move, he almost didn't want to breathe. One needed air to live though, so his body continued the involuntary action of breathing. Soon though, the peaking of the first rays of light through the blinds on their windows started to pierce holes into Mars' nothingness. The world slowly disentagrated and with that came the slowly opening eyes of the man who was in limbo. His bright, icy eyes were tired, but he knew and his body knew that he needed to get up. He realized that Orin was gone, and that sent a quick surge of panic through him, enough to where he jumped to his feet and ran to the door of their bedroom. His hands went to each side of the doorway and he peeked his head out to look and see his woman about to walk out of the house, cloak, and books and all. He scratched his head with one of his hands and he looked at her with a confused look.

Babe, where are you going? he asked to the woman, his voice slightly hushed, as he didn't want to wake the baby. He yawned lightly as he stood straight and walked from the doorway, over towards the woman, stopping at the end of the hallway that branched out to the living room. He needed to get dressed if he was going to go with her, wherever she was going, but he didn't know if she wanted to spend time with him and Svet if she was trying to sneak out the way she was. The groggy man looked at her with tired eyes, and then to one of his cigarette cases that was on the end table by one of the couches. He walked over to it and picked it up and flipped it open. He then grabbed a lighter and walked back over to Orin. I'll go with you if you give me a few to get ready. We can ask Paz to watch Svet. She won't mind. spoke the Russo man as he put the cigarette to his lips and he lit the end of it. He inhaled, and then slowly exhaled the smoke.

Oh no! No phone = sucky! Feel free to PP them walking or arriving at the costume shop, or any distractions in the meantime. Word Count :: 400+

Mars appeared and she smiled. She hadn’t smiled like that in a long time; it was a genuine expression full of love and reverence for the man. She had not stopped loving him this whole time, but her spirit had been too broken to craft anything more than false pleasantries for several weeks. Today, the force behind the smile was gone, and the happiness touched even those amber eyes that gazed at his piebald countenance that loomed down the hallway.

“I thought you were up late, I didn’t want to wake you,” she explained, turning towards him but still standing in the morning light that poured in through the open door. “I was going to make a stop by the costume shop and then go over to the amphitheater. I can wait a few.” She moved out of the doorway but left the door open to let the cool, crisp morning air meander in and freshen up the stuffy house. She returned the books to the table then turned to him with a disapproving look that was still full of amusement.

“What have I told you about this?” She said as she stepped up in front of him and pinched the end of his cigarette. She knew if she licked her fingers and did it fast enough it would barely hurt the pads of her fingers, and that’s exactly how she performed the trick now as she squeezed the cherry out of existence. One quick shake of her hand after and the sting was gone. “No smoking in the house when Svet is here.” She scolded, wagging her finger teasingly, her old vibrant grin flashing pearly white teeth.

“Well, hurry up!” She slapped him on the butt to move him along. “I could be halfway to the shop right now. I don’t have any time to waste, and we’ve still gotta tell Paz that we’ve volun-told her to watch Svetlana today.” With a wink and a kiss she turned back around and started shuffling the books as though organizing them into a particular order. “In fact, I’ll go do it while you get ready.” And then she disappeared out of the house, leaving the books of costuming, aerial acrobatics, and a few playbooks on the table.

A few minutes later her voice preceded her into the front room. “Okay! Paz is going to be over in a minute to watch her,” she popped her head inside. “You ready yet? Be a gent and grab those for me, will you?” She waved a flippant hand at the books and then was gone, prancing across the porch and out into the yard with the pink cloak billowing behind her, Orin soon turned down the path about to leave Mars in the dust if he didn’t get his hustle on.

Word Count → 643 :: Sorry for the wait on this. I'm here though.

And I promise that all your burden and worry will disappear
In a plume of smoke, in a plume of smoke.

The look in her eyes, the smile on her face. Something had happened, to where these things were so much brighter than they had been over these last few weeks since their children perished. He couldn't help but smile back at her, for he had missed this smile and this brightness since the accident. As he walked to her, she spoke to him, saying she thought he was up late. This was true, and that she didn't want to wake him, but it happened anyways. Since he knew she ran away out of fear sometimes, Mars had been weird about the woman leaving the bed while he was sleeping, and it constantly would wake him up. She explained to him that she could wait for him, and that she was going to the shop and then to the theater. Mars wondered why for a brief moment, but he figured that he would find out what she had been working on (with her pile of books that she had in tow) and what costumes she was going to get at the shop. He already knew that she was working on something for her to be up and at 'em so early and to be so excited to do such. She came closer to him and she pinched the end of his cigarette and then scolded him, yet again for his habit.

He wasn't used to being bitched at about the cigarette smoking, even when the children were around, because Krystalle also smoked, and their kids never seemed to have a problem with him smoking in the house. They just ignored it and kept going. Apparently Svetlana didn't like the smell though and she had told Orin that, and this was where the whole issue arised from. It was early enough in the morning to not all be there, so the habit of smoking right when he woke up simply kick started itself without him really even realizing it. Once his cherry was out though, his brows furrowed at the woman before he was slapped on the butt and told to hurry up. He held the cigarette in his mouth and he grumbled a bit under his breath before he started to walk towards their room door. Orin spoke of how she would go to Paz and tell her that she was needed for baby-sitting, and once she left the house he lit his cigarette again and he started to get his clothing on. Today he picked out his studded leather vest, his red leather gloves, and his black skinny jeans. He also grabbed his sunglasses and by the time he was completely ready, his cigarette was out and Orin had just poked her head in the door and told him that Paz would be over in a bit. He came from their room and he brushed off his vest as he walked to her, and she then asked him to grab her books. He did, silently, and then walked over to the door. I'm ready now. he spoke simply as she bounced off. He trotted off after her, and they went towards the costume shop that was not too far from their house really.

The costume shop held many memories for them. Not only had they met there, but they also had their children there. It was a surprise that they didn't fuck there already (which would soon be fixed by Mars, if he had anything to say in the matter) but that would probably change soon. He caught up with Orin and matched her hyper pace. So....What do you plan on doing at the Theater? You gonna put on a play? asked the Russo man, for he wondered what the woman was gonna be doing, even though he could guess what she was up to.
