Pack meeting guys! Get in herr. :3

Jaden sat at the edge of celebration plateau and looked quietly out over Sangi’lak. The thick fur and mane of his secui form flicked and blew in a gentle breeze that had no trees to stop it. The wind carried the scents of other wolves and familiar plant life. It carried the smell of home sweetly like it had for so months. But home wasn’t the same today as it had been a month ago. So much could change in such a short amount of time. At this moment thirty days ago the Issum had been hoofing it through wild flora and fauna followed closely by X’ies on their way to meet new packs, X’yrin was still a sore subject, and Jaden was horridly stressed. Things were much better now. X’yrin loved him and home was no longer miles and miles away. Stress wasn’t necessarily possible to completely disperse but that too had fallen to a considerably more healthy level. Life was good.

There was always something to do though. Now that their trip was over and done with and the travelers had been given a chance to acclimate it was time to fill in the rest of their collective. Jaden threw his head back and howled. His voice would echo from the highest claimed point in Sangi’lak for all to hear. The notes were urgent: everyone needed to understand where they were welcome as nomads and where they should not tread. To the best of his knowledge, every single one of his pack mates who still called this place home was present on the lands somewhere. They would come. He lay down then and relaxed while he watched the lowland for signs movement.

Word Count :: 203 OOC: Sira is in secui

Sira was playing with the kitten. She was a cute little thing and when she wasn’t annoyed with Sira, which was less and less day by day and soon she didn’t need to be kept pinned down to understand that she was better off with Sira... at least that was Sira’s mind talking. She lifted her head at the call and the kitten was still playing as though she didn’t hear it and bit a little too hard on sira’s paw which was moving away when the kitten batted and bit at it. Sira cringed but she hurriedly picked the kitten up and headed towards the call.

She already knew it was Jaden who called but she didn’t know why so when she came she sat down with the kitten still in her mouth and turned her head sideways to show him her confusion. She knew he was away more often than not and though she still barely knew him felt more comfortable around him than any of the other men, perhaps because X’yrin put so much trust in him when Sira first met him. She was calmer than before and happier too, especially now with the kitten and it showed.

Asgeir
But your thoughts will soon be wandering,
the way they always do, When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do
OOC :: Secui for Asgeir, too.

The elder had been largely unspectacular in the pack for the past two weeks or so. He had been around, if barely, fulfilling what was expected of him in his role as an acknowledged member but not going beyond what was expected of him. It was a combination of grief gripping him, a general malaise that might have been allergy based, and of late, the scent of the Issum combined with that of the Issor, and the knowledge that any feelings he may have been harboring secretly for X'yrin were irrelevant now.

He trudged through his days, eating like a bird rather than a wolf, donating most of his kills to the cache. When he managed to make a kill, of course; his ratio of successful to unsuccessful kills had plummeted a bit. He was keeping his distance from the others as well, and had not bathed or trained with his spear since the beginning of the month. Asgeir's fur was a mess, though not as bad as it had been when first he had joned Sangi'lak.

When Jaden's cry gathering the nomads together came, it broke through the fog, or began to. The man stopped in his travel across the Expanse, began to answer the call, and then stopped to take a closer look at himself. He was appalled at what he had allowed to happen, and he knew the others would be, too. Asgeir turned on one tan foot, and strode with more purpose than he had had to the lake. In the somewhat chilly waters of Adlarto'K he scrubbed the grime from himself quickly, before stashing his spear in his segment of the caves and shifting to Secui. His fur hung in chunky pieces from the damp, but he would be alright. Asgeir made his way up the winding path to Celebration Plateau. He nodded his head silently at the Issum, then to the young jackal he had trained with, the only others there, and took a seat apart from both.

You just wish the trip was through

Rain knew to heed the call of his Alpha. Lux had been asleep when the howl came and he quickly nudged her awake. The fox pups had grown old enough to follow both of them but to make sure they weren't late Rain picked the female pup up and nudged Lux again. "geef bp Loox. Paek meating," he said around the foxes fur. The young woman woke and shook herself before stretching and picking up the other fox pup. Rain hurriedly left the den with Lux behind him, running in secui form to the meeting place.

As soon as he arrived he put the pup down in front of Lux and walked over to Jaden, bowing his lower half to the man before showing him his stomach as a sign of submission and respect. He then nudged the mans shoulder and nipped his ear before smiling. "Its always nice to see you Jaden. When are we going to practice again? I hope my bow is working out for you," said Rain before going back to Lux and laying down, cuddling one of the fox pup close.

It seemed like scarcely any time had passed since he'd come to Sangi'lak. Val had barely had a chance to begin exploring the lands, much less getting acquainted with her members. What he did find was to his liking, though - open expanses, verdant forests, rivers and streams tumbling down from the mountain heights, and Adlarto'k, still and mirror-like beneath the vaulted sky. he wasn't sure if he bought into the belief that the ancestors remained to watch over the nomad pack, but this place was certainly peaceful and blessed with a unique beauty.

The lithe male had risen early that day, venturing to the expanse called Kanosak in search of materials. He was a craftsmen at heart, and his long seasons of journeying on foot had forced him to travel light, carrying only the most essentials items and scavenging only the most precious things. Now that he had a place to call home again, a place to put down roots, he could begin to collect more mundane but useful things.

Late into the morning, he had managed to gather several rocks which looked promising for flaking into tools. Valtiere had just decided to abandon the lakeshore and try a bit of solo hunting when a call rang out, distant and echoing. Large brown ears tipped toward the sound, recognizing the voice as belonging to Jaden, the Issum. With a shrug, Valtiere set down his bag and shifted into Secui form. He had a hunch that arriving in Optime would put him in the minority and make him stand out, and although he personally preferred Optime form, that little bit of akwardness was not something he desired. Grasping the heavy pack in his jaws, he made for the plateau where the call had rung from. There wouldn't be time to drop it off in the spot he'd chosen to make his humble camp, and he wasn't familiar enough with the lands to know of a good spot to stash it. Bringing it with him would save time.

By the time he arrived, several others were already present arranged in a loose knot around the Issum. Valtiere noted the variety in the group - a wolfen couple seemed to have brought a brood of foxes, and a girl who looked like some sort of jackal was clutching a kitten. Jaws aching from their burden, he sat down his pack and seated himself at a reasonable interval, deciding that a backpack was not such a strange item to bring along after all. He offered Jaden a friendly, respectful nod, seeing as the black-and-white male was the only one here that Valtiere actually knew, then glanced to his right to offer a nod of greeting to the quiet male that sat a short distance from him. This was Valtiere's first time seeing every one of these wolves, and he hoped he might learn something useful during the gathering, and perhaps have an opportunity to talk with a few of his new packmates after.

ooc: Form, Lupus.

The mountain was quickly becoming a regular place for X'ies to conduct both his training and his regular time. The place was quiet and offered him that same peace that home once had to thnk on the days lessons and the things that needed to be planned ahead. Sitting in front of him was the chessboard, though he didn't makee a move to use it. The chess board required him to be in the optime form, but he did not feel like taking that today, today he enjoyed the peace of his natural body, the Lupus form. But before hee could get to his planning and scheming thee howl of attention broke the silence. Sending birds flying in various directions and bringing his head towards the sky. An important call no doubt, similar to the one that he beeen announced for the last meeting of the family.

So he would pick himself up and pad down the mountain, taking his time. This meeting he had expected, it was something that was no doubt a sharing of the information that he and Jaden had obtained during the expedition. He would arrive on time, before X;yrin it would seem, when he did arrive he took position near a group of rocks and laid down, his foggy eyes watching Jaden all the while. The grey Nomad didn't think that he could ever 'like' or 'respect' Jaden as he was. On the trip he had discovered that the male wasn't entirely useless. However his position did not suit his mentality. X'yrin was leading a bunch of would be nomads, and yet besides himself and his brother. This group distinctly lacked their number, or their mentality.

Perhaps if Jaden was to relinquish his former life and embraced the truth of the Nomad, there would be a way to unlock the potiental, but for now X'ies saw little of it save in brief sparks, quickly fluttered out by the weakness of emotion. The Grey wolf sighed inwardly, a reminder of his own dilema, the chess board represented his peace. His Nomad self, where he could look down and control things with logic being the only force that changed anything. And thats how he liked it. Still, this would be one of the first times X'ies would be looking uupon some of the new family, and as suspected they were rife with weakness. What X'yrin had been thinking bringing them here was beyond him.

ooc: Zeus will be PP'd for the time being. To progress this thread along, the following will be introduced over the course of the meeting. Feel free to assume that certain times turning the meeting there will be times for others to make their opinions/concerns known. Second round ends Sept. 14thNo posting order

News from the expedition had left the Issor both pleased and disappointment. The reasons being varying to extents that left an unpleasant taste in her maw. But it could not be helped. Afterall, as they were vast combinations and cultures in this world, so were their different mindsets...however foolish or brilliant. Sadly, what was told to her did not disclose the latter.

She had harbored a concern for many days, pressing and heavy on her mind as she mulled over decisions she did not think she'd have to make. It was in her ignorance that she had believed others would be accepting to the ways of the Nomads and would be glad to encourage and prosperous relationship. It had not crossed her mind to consider the strengths and weaknesses of others. What they had to offer...what benefits could be gained aside from friendship. Suffice it to say, her eyes were opened and alongside her beloved, she pondered...

The day his voice sounded, calling for the Family to gather, she lingered behind to collect not only herself, but her offerings to her Family. A show of adoration for their loyalty, and a trinket to further dress them as Nomads...if only physically. Her own garb was that that reflected what she had seen of her Shepard many a time; adornments of Nomad symbolism. The feathers of her companions both bearded vulture and great owls. The teeth of the cougar hung around her neck as the physical bond between herself and the Issum. And upon her shoulder were the trophies of her recent kills, groomed and purposefully placed to exhibit what they once were.

Her arrival was delayed but timely with little gold pup in tow. His little body was kept close to her towering own, following the sounds of her four heavy steps and gentle brush of her tail upon his nose. When the smell of the Family became thicker to his flared nostrils, he bravely veered from his surrogate's direction and inched toward an erect stone to brace against and listen. What was going on was beyond his immediate understanding, but X'yrin had called this gathering important, so for the time, he would be quite and try to grasp what all was said.

The Nomad Shepard found her place at the head of the Family, looking to each present face with gratitude and pride whilst noting with disappointment those that had yet to show before herself. But she could not let that claim her attention now. Far more pressing matters needed address. Turning her muzzle from the blank spaces within the crowd, she looked toward those present and softly began with her voice growing as she became more impassioned...

"Nomads of Sangi'lak. I thank you for heeding the call of your Issum. No doubt the lure of the day calls to you, begging you discard the position of loyalty to tend to your better things. I thank you for ignoring that call...and heeding that of your Alpha.

"The month past, Jaden...and X'ies now bequeathed the title of our diplomat, traveled to our known neighbors in the hopes of establishing a beneficial and prosperous relationship with them. There was those that have yet to be contacted and will be in due time. But for those that answered, I give you the assessment of them to be made note of." She paused for a moment, letting her eyes drift to both X'ies and Jaden before continuing.

"The wolves of New Dawn, though strict to their ancestors' ways, are a reserved group that are not to be taken with strict caution. They are kind and able, deserving etiquette before violence. A kind tongue and manners. Along the mountains; Inferni. Though they brandish the skulls of their wolf foes, they are not to be aggravated without just cause. Should I find that any of you provoke a violent response from them, you will answer to be personally. Cavalieri is complicated to place. They taken pride in their strength, but lack the sense most are born with. But do not fault them outright. The acts of a few should not dictate the actions of the many...but as there would many that heeding a single call, it stands to reason that perhaps they would act brashly instead of sensibly if met with a less than pleasant tongue. And last..."

Drawing finally to the pack of concern, the Shepard finally seated herself before her Family draped in the long tresses of autumn mane. As if seeing beyond the lake, she turned her muzzle toward the east. "Vinatta...our neighbors." She spoke softly then, letting the word flow from her maw and be stolen by the warm, gentle air. "We call them our neighbors and nothing more that is worth positive acknowledgement. Their arrogance and hostile air only serves to cloud their vision of what could have been a prosperous union. Let it be known my Family, that threat against our livelihood is not tolerated, however slight. And I am generous to call their slight at us 'small'. Any that would suggest something other than cooperation with our Family is an enemy to us and will be treated as such. No Nomad is to cross the path of Vinatta willingly. But should their stench cross near our borders, then they are to be chased away without mercy. Leniency will not be shown. Grace toward them is undeserved. Hold true to this, and your loyalty to this Family is recognized and insured." X'yrin lifted her muzzle slightly.

"Does the Family understand this?"

"I understand Shepard."

He would come from behind a rock almost shyly in his Lupine form. He had no idea who most of the wolves and others were let alone had he learned every location of everything in the large expanse that was Sangi'lak lands. X'uri was well kept and looking lovely as always as he trotted up just slightly late, but on time enough to catch what the Issor said. A single owl feather fluttered brilliantly in the gentle yet present wind that was flowing around them. Normally he was not as shy, especially around people he didn't know but consider he was the new one in the Family, it did present a sense of nervousness. Vinatta was their enemy it seemed, his brother and the leaders had determined that. The fact made him inwardly want to tear them apart. Surely he could worm his way into their core and poison them.

He had listened intently about the other lands with much curiosity as would any Lambda, because politics and diplomacy was their strong suit. He stared at his foggy eyed brother, ever silent and contemplative, and wondered what he thought of the whole situation. Politics was always a much enjoyed conversation in their past. The Inferni and Vinatta seemed their biggest threats, however Inferni was always a Lupus threat. The coyotes were militaristic in their ways he had heard and had claimed many a wolves in their conquests. The Vinatta if as vain as they were made out to be would be easily taken down, without them even knowing it.

X'uri couldn't help but smile at the pup listening in. His odd coloured eyes indicated blindness however he wasn't quite sure what to think of the gold coloured wolf. He seemed to have a certain connection to the Issor. Was he then an Exultare? It was very interesting to him. The Issor was dolled up in her feathers and flowers along with trophies. Everyone looked relatively well and proud. He however just looked contemplative like his brother except remarkably more handsome as he did make himself attractive on purpose. His scent was absolutely lovely and markedly tantalizing. His very presence called for a certain level of lust or desire. That was his passive ability really, likability. He had hoped that this would help excuse his tardiness of the meeting.

"My apologies for being late Issor, Issum." He would say quietly yet curt and respectively while bowing his lupine head to both in respect and honor. He would then nod to his brother in acknowledgement and respect as was expected.

Proud and tall would have been a fitting description of the Issum as he watched his pack slowly assemble from the heart of Sangi’lak. It was a fitting metaphor, to say they came from the land’s heart for like blood within a body each of them gave it life. Without every member of the pack this land was not but a wolf marked piece of wilderness. What made it Sangi’lak were the individuals of this family. Their mark upon the other packs was little but pride and even a bit of excitement for the future filled him looking upon the faces of his family.

The first of them to show was Sira. She was a pleasant little thing even being non-wolf blooded and he admired her punctuality. Jaden saw her as a bit weak but that couldn’t truly be helped with her size and the condition she had first met him in. That view was slowly improving as she seemed to hold a determination in her for all that was stacked against her in this land of large wolves. She still had her kitten and the little thing didn’t really bother him. It seemed a bit unnecessary and useless but it was young. In time it would grow into something. He nodded to her with warmth in his blue eyes.

The next to show was a man Jaden had truly only heard about until now. Asgeir, as he assumed from his scent and description he’d gotten of the wolf, was to be thanked for the work he’d done to ensure Sangi’lak had a place to house its animals. Now didn’t seem a fitting time to do so with more pressing matters to attend to and a growing audience, but he made a note to do it some time. The Issum really did need to make time to meet all of the land’s members. He nodded to Asgeir in greeting but it wasn’t with the same warmth he’d given the Jackal. To the semi-stranger it was more formal though still kind.

He felt a little uneasy realizing that there would be a few faces here he only knew of by name and smell. But the appearance of two he did recognize insured him that he was keeping somewhat true to his duties as a leader. Rain and Valtiere were both greeted with warmth. To the latter he returned a respectful nod. To Rain he offered words reassurance about the gifted bow and a polite dismissal, The bow is working quite well. If only I could master it, it would be as dangerous in my paws as yours. We shale speak of practice after the meeting, his voice offered notes of happiness for Jaden truly did look forward to practicing with the other male. It wasn’t often that he found another with more skill in archery than himself.

The last two members to show in a timely manner were on either end of the extremes Jaden held in like and dislike of fellow pack members. First was the Lambda. Even after spending much more time than he ever would have naturally with the difficult fellow he still wasn’t sure he could call him a “friend”. Family seemed a fitting description for their relationship. It was necessary for the pack though would have NEVER worked out without this catalyst. It was clear to Jaden that one of them would have to change before they could ever truly see eye-to-eye. Who would change first was still up to time, but Jaden felt sure he could make X’ies change if it came to that.

Then there was his Issor. Words could not describe all the happiness he found in her. Just her presence put a smile across his maw and sent his tail into a pleased sway. She spoke up as she entered, followed closely by her charge. Jaden gave the Zeus little notice as he watched his beloved intently and listened to her speak. He had called this meeting but was glad to her hear her take initiative and direct it in the proper direction. Her beautiful voice held far more allure to listen to than his own in his opinion. It was also pleasing to hear that she had come to much the same conclusion regarding their relationships as he had. How she spoke of Vinátta was a bit more blunt than the Issum he had thought of them but hearing it from her reassured him that she spoke of his true feelings as they should be toward the difficult pack.

With the mention of an enemy practically sharing a border with Sangi’lak, Jaden did recall an observation he had made a day or to prior. For their growing numbers, few of them he knew of could truly hold their ground in a battle of tooth and claw. He was sure all of them had some experience in fighting. It was simply part of life. But he expected more of his pack. Those that were able should not just be able to hold their own in a scuffle but should have the skill to crush any regular wolf into the dust. Most of them had the potential and every single one of them could be deadly if taught the correct skill to suit their ability. His expectation seemed worth voicing and so he did. It went without saying that he understood his Issor so he gave time for the others to affirm their understanding before speaking, As your Issor said, while Vinátta is unwelcome on our boarder do not bother to look for trouble with them. Not only are they unworthy of our direct attention, but open hostilities less than a mile from our boarder would waste much time and energy. Though, do not assume our ‘neighbors’ share this reasonable outlook. Every one of you is expected to stay vigilant in your training. Not all of us are warriors but those who are will gladly help the less combat-experienced members should they ask. He nodded to Rain, not only knowing the man had plenty to share but to also make an example of “those who are” in himself and the sensible white male.

X'ies would remain silent until the arrival of X'yrin and shortly behind her, his brother. It was an interesting thing to behold. But the first mistakes of the meeting were taken up when the words of both Alphas conflicted. And this was not a good sign, the two either had differing opinions of how to approach Vinatta, or one had just simply misworded the repetition of the other. Regardless the result was the same, the two alphas gave differing orders which would ultimately result in the confusion of the members sitting here as to just what they were supposed to do concerning Vinatta. "...So for clarification purposes if we meet Vinatta outside, but near our borders just what are we supposed to do?....X'yrin says we chase them without mercy and show the disprespect deserved, Jaden says we are not to indulge in hostile action or to provoke it. It would appear you are of conflicting minds as to just how we are to approach this issue. For the sake of clarity what precisely do you want us to do?...chase them off? Or adopt a wait and see approach?". Of course no doubt his response was going to be met with some unfavorable replies, but his question was valid and it would need to be answered before proceeding.

" I agree with the training requirements....conflict with Vinatta at some point will be inevitable...the distance between us and the tension already there, it will not take much to spark a conflict, and when it comes we should be prepared...if I may suggest that we start a regular sentry watch of our borders with them..this will increase safety...establish a rotating shift pattern"

Wolves gathered around and Sira let the kitten hide in her belly. Once everyone assembled X’yrin spoke. Spoke of how to take care around packs and be kind and which would be kind and then... how to avoid and not let Vinatta anywhere near the borders. Sira thought of Ink, the man who helped her with her kitten, and he had been so friendly too. She knew that he was from their neighbor but he showed nor hostilities and she liked him. He was a friend to her and now it seemed they were not? She hesitated and looked between X’yrin and Jaden. And Xies spoke and she looked at him, he agreed with them and explained about how they would go about training and everything. She stayed quiet until he finished and then meekly spoke herself; “W-what if we have friends there? I don’t want to be mean to them,” Or chase them away if they came close. She wasn’t sure if she would regret saying this, but they were in her thoughts and she knew she would do as they told her, no matter how friendly her friends were, family came first and this was her family now.

I'll drown out the shadows
by making some light
but I still can't forget
all those wrongs not made right.

The wind whispered, ever stirring here on the plataeu. Valtiere allowed the time to pass idly as others arrived, enjoying the way the eddies of air swirled his packmate's scents around him. He committed them to memory, otherwise enjoying the feel of the sun on his shoulders and the company of his packmates as he waited for more to arrive. He was continually surprised how easy it was to feel at peace here in Sangi'lak.

Through his serene jade gaze, he studied his family members. Jaden was no born nomad, he felt certain. This did not necesarily decrease Valtiere's respect for the Issum - after all he had not been born a nomad, although he often wished he had been - but it raised questions. How had Jaden come to be in his position? And if he were not originally a nomad, then who was? Valtiere had yet to meet, or even see, the Issor, whoever that might be, but someone must have founded this band, or else how did they get here? The reddish male cast his gaze around the group once more, trying to guess how many others had roots in the tradition, and how many had simply joined because the traditions of Sangi'lak appealed to them, but had yet to fully assimilate.

The grey male who arrived next interrupted his speculations. He moved almost furtively, drifting in like a cold mist. Valtiere flicked an ear in interest, noting the male's form and adornments... but before he could lose himself in more questions, the Issor arrived. She was unquestionably a nomad - trophies and ornaments decorated her form in a way so obvious and familiar that for a moment he was transported back to his first nomadic family. She looks just like them... he thought. The genuine smile that spread over Jaden's features further confirmed his hypothesis, and Val dipped his head once more, ackowledging the head of the family. The pup that trailed in at her heals did not escape his notice, either.

Another member arrived behind the lady of the pack, but it was the words of the Issor and Issum that held Val's attention now. She launched into what at first appeared to be the usual formalities, but nonetheless Valtiere listened closely, especially as she detailed the status of their neighbors. They were names unfamiliar to him, and he knew he would have to learn them. His sense of serenity dwindled as she came to the subject of the ones called Vinatta, though. Val's brow creased as a frown came to his features. So his newfound family had an enemy... the Issor's words continued, followed by the arrival of another member, and then the Issum spoke. Although Valtiere listened, their words only added to his worries.

The thought of violence brought a cold chill to him, and an icy numbness grew in the pit of his stomache at the thought of war. Luckily it seemed it had not come to that yet, but perhaps it was only a matter of time... as the grey one he'd noticed earlier asked for clarification on a technicality, Valtiere brooded on the bigger picture. He had been born to a clan of warriors, and his first experience of nomadic culture had been during a raid on their camp. They'd looted and stolen during that attack, and it had been that first glimpse that eventually brought him to return to the nomads and seek acceptance from them. They had cautiously agreed, and thus he had left behind a violent lifestyle he'd never been suited for and taken up a new way of life. His fighting skills were artless and vicious - something he preferred not to remember, a necesity of an earlier life he'd left behind.

"Yes, shepherd," he echoed hollowly, forcing his thoughts back to the present with effort. War was not yet upon them, and perhaps it would not come to such things. It was worth hoping for, at least. In the mean time, he would have to drill old skills he'd have preferred to forget... perhaps he should learn the bow, or some other weapon suited to his lean, lithe form. Certainly he could craft weapons for the family, should they need them... though he'd rather make almost anything besides instruments of bloodshed. To defend the family, not seek out fights, he reminded himself forcefully....

Disconnect. The last concept the Nomad needed to endure to make her point known to the Family. She would look then to Jaden with less of a confused and more disappointed look in her eyes as he spoke of ignoring their eastern neighbors as if it could be afforded to them. Then to X’ies who smoothly acknowledged these differing ideals but offered a good word to training and its benefits.

The pack as a whole lacked the uniformity of the Nomad collective; the ability to share their unique abilities whilst keeping a single aspect of the Family in mind. Their strength varied, but there was no true routine to maintain it, just the odd exercise here and animal tending there. There was no set time…no set place. And though she could not fault them, she could fault herself. With ears drawn back she looked to the faces of her brethren looking to both herself and Jaden for reply…for guidance. Quietly, she released a sigh through flared nostrils then fell into a deeper silence as she was drawn into inner reflection.

Individually, she felt she catered to their needs…but was that not enough as a leader? Was it too confusing? What was she lacking that kept her from aspiring to the greatness of her father? What was keeping this Family from uniformity and greatness? An ear twitched toward the timid voice of her jackal friend. She looked down at the girl, looking not her but through her as if the answer to her inner dilemma resided just there beyond the reach of the physical. Was it the mindset? The minds of the Family were not unified? Her gaze bounced then from the Lambda brothers to the known Mareck, then to the elder, yet capable Asgeir then back to Sira and then to Jaden. Oh yes. Her eyes widened to realization. She could see what they were lacking…what the pack as a whole missed. The like mindset of the collective; the ability to truly share a single ideal and grow from there. It was not enough to be a part of the pack, she had seen it within the collectives with others seeking a new home. She had watched the assimilation, the training the wanderers would go through before they became truly members of the Family. Their prior lives forgotten, replaced with only the image of the Family. It made accepting the rules easier and made the capable fight harder for not only themselves but their Family.

Yes… that was it.

Achieving this resolution, the Shepard turned her attention to her friend again and smiled as she always did…warm and inviting. “They are no longer your friends,” she said simply enough. “If they would side with foolishness then you are best rid of them. They come to you with words of feigned friendship led by fools that fancy themselves leaders; you bear your teeth and leave them.” Again the woman lifted her head and looked out to each face. “There are no exceptions, unless it is your role to conduct yourselves otherwise.

“What more I have to say, I say not only as your friend but as your leader…your Issor…your Shepard. We seek the comfort and acknowledgement as Family… and yet we are not of one mind. I look to you all and I see Nomad…wolf…and jackal. I do not see the face of a single representation. I feel it has been my fault, keeping these things separate to keep from bringing insult to your ways of life. I have said to you all that what you do is for this Family and yet I cannot look to any of you without seeing the remnants of your pasts lives within your eyes. They are by no means something to be ashamed of, but they are not the first glimpses I see…and this...disheartens me.” She glanced back to Jaden amidst her pause before looking out again to their Family. “We are the new generation of the Nomad collective…yet we are broken instead of whole. What do you all say to this?”

The way Sira spoke only confirmed his thoughts on the young one. She wasn’t’ like them this much was obvious and it always had been. X’yrin had gathered a weak family and now it was coming back to haunt them. She was questioning whether or not she should treat the Vinattans as instructed.X’ies would have been quicker to respond but the thoughts of how X’y would have wanted him to speak kept him back from doing so. It would seem however that she spoke up first, note quite as harshly as the grey wolf would have but her words confirmed his own questions. He was to follow her and not the words of the black wolf.

At this point there was little else to say X’yrin was ore or less speaking his thoughts. More or less, she had began to see the weakness now, the non-unity of the pack which only resulted in this confliction of ideals which had surfaced in both Jaden and in Sira. The two were examples of what needed to happen, for them to be assimilated into the pack wholly and fully. Of course there were likely going to be difficulties in this ahead, particularly when he looked around at the other members. But for the moment X’ies kept his head down in silence. Merely agreeing with what his leader said, even if the two were not on the best terms, he waited in this silence for the people, his people to answer the leader. But there was nothing but silence from them…so he felt compelled to speak up, if for nothing more than the unity displayed by Nomads. ” I say that for something to be fixed, reshaped…it must first be broken…this is merely the first step, and a good step it is”.
