OOC: COME HEAL ME le sad!

More “battle wounds” Shawchert thought as he looked at his searing hands. It wasn’t as bad as he thought but there were patches of skin that felt as though they were on fire. No he would live but why did it have to hurt so much. He sat at the cabin that he now shared with Sky. He was looking at them. They didn’t hurt in the whole stupid predicament he started, but he would stand up for his daughter. How did anyone see that and to say she was as good as dead because she was no long pack? It infuriated him. But he kept himself calm after the outburst that caused Tharin to attack him. Whatever the case he was still hurt and he hoped Sky would come back soon.

He didn’t go inside though he sat out on the porch just staring at his hands. Wondering how his hands weren’t really on fire, some of his fur was singed but other than that fire did not engulf them when he threw his hands out to catch himself. it was interesting to look at really. He was lucky they were only coals and not just the fire. So he sat there admiring his hands, He was sure he could still use them, he just needed medical expertise.

She'd had to talk to Zalen before the situation cooled down and she got distracted. As soon as their conversation was done, though, she returned to the clinic- Shawchert had been waiting long enough by then. The trip was made in Secui form, so it would be easy to shift up upon arrival. She paused when it came into view to do just that, then tredded onto the ramp leading up to the first level.

There he was, sitting on the porch, looking at his hands. She forced that natural smile and trotted over, kneeling beside him and leaning her forehead into his shoulder in hello. "They don't look bad. I'll give it a day's rest and you'll be good to go." She assured, her voice friendly and cool. She was still riled from the fight, angry with Tharin in a way she didn't expect and somewhat concerned with Zalen's reaction to it all.

"Come on inside. I'll bandage you up." She stood and waited for him to stand before heading over to the spiraling stairs that looped the trunk. This wasn't an emergency- the upper level would be a suitable place to do things. She had burn salve up there, she was sure. "How are you feeling, anyway? Did he hurt you anywhere else?"

Sorry for the wait. Smile Bein' super vague here.

OOC: sorry for the shortness ; ;

Shawchert flinched at her touch. He wasn’t use to such affection these days much less hers. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow but said nothing. His throat was scratchy from inhaling some of the ash dust but he was sure it would be fine in no time. He nodded at her pleased that she thought the same thing. At her request he stood and followed her up the stairs silently. When she finally spoke it was quiet; “No, just a sore throat.” And what little dignity he had left... The are harsh... these wolves, more so than my home pack.” He said, and he wasn’t sure he liked it all too much, but where else dod he have to go? He would have to learn the culture of New Dawn or find himself gone because he did something stupid.

She circled the trunk of the oak in the middle of the building and trotted over to a cabinet. He assured her that his throat was a little sore and she nodded, humming softly to herself as she gathered everything she'd need- burn salve, swabs and some soft wraps. As she came back over to him, it was only to guide him over to the closest chair and sit him down in it. She'd gently take his hand in hers and begin applying the soothing green salve- made from Aloe Vera plants, by the scent of it, and the way it stained the fur on his paws green.

"We have a... different way of life here... but what Tharin did was shallow and cruel." She seemed... disappointed. Tharin was supposed to be a Gamma, a face and voice of the pack. He was supposed to be patient and understanding, to respect the good things people had done for New Dawn. Why would he act in such a way? "I guess... you'll have some more trouble than the rest of us, settling in." She admitted, mostly to herself than to him.

"It's like any new home, though." She cheered a bit, smile returning. "You'll see. New Dawn might be stricter than any pack you've-" She paused. "We've, been in before, but it's a good home and a good family. Don't let Tharin's close-minded temper lead you to believe us all to be like that." She finished wrapping his hands carefully and set her supplies down nearby, taking his face in her hands now instead.

"I know it's hard, but in a few months time, you'll be settled in and living comfortably. You'll see." She patted his cheek gently and smiled that honest, heart-felt smile she'd worn so long ago- that same smile she'd worn when they'd met, expect now... now there was experience and wisdom mixed in. She wasn't a little girl anymore. She'd grown into a woman, a mother, and she wouldn't let this ruin their chances at finally being happy. Finally being free of that curse that had followed both of them for so long and so far. Someday, they'd be able to relax.

Sky's sure he'll be happy here. Eventually. xD

WC: 331/ OOC: Yes in light of all that happened I have so many posts with shaw it will take too long to repost, so whatever I have already up and him saying well its' garbled and waht not, you know, now is where I post properly with him. So he's angry with himself <3

In Character

He let her move her to where she needed him. So many things happened all at once, and she was suddenly being so nice. She had changed he could tell. Just from the few days he had seen her, she had changed greatly as he did. He let his teeth show at the pain of the aloe touching his raw skin, but the pain died within seconds and he felt its soothing healing as it dried on his pads. He listened as Sky spoke to him. He gave a quiet grunt at her words he could understand. Tharin had been horrible to speak as he did of Titania whose pack was not there when she gave birth, Shaw wondered where Zalen was but he did not know the full details, only enough to know something horrible happened. He did not judge the man other than taking his daughter away from him so early on, just when he had gotten her back no less.

Her comment about this being stricter than any pack he had ever been in made him laugh out right. This was nothing compared to his old pack. He wasn’t going to try and make Sky understand that, she barely knew his past and now that there was no more of it, she really didn’t need to know. His laugh stopped when she took his face in her hands and his heart stopped right where it was and frozen as she spoke. He could do nothing but nod. He pointed at her and tried saying help, but it came out wrong and he growled his frustrations. He looked away angry at himself for not being able to speak anymore, it was hard for him, it was always going to be hard. He would try to make it work. Whatever he learned in communication with other slaves wouldn’t work here, not unless he taught everyone the few basic signs he knew and even then he couldnt’ express himself.

His attempt to speak was met with perked ears, ready to listen. When a garbled word came out, barely even a word, she felt her ears fall back into her hair, disappearing there. Blue eyes turned into concern and she placed a hand on his chest, over his heart. No words. She'd not speak, not if he couldn't. She didn't understand what he was trying to tell her, but she didn't care. Whatever it was must not have been too important, right? Right. Instead of trying to get it out of him, she moved to press her nose to his cheek with a sigh.

This man was the love of her life, no matter what had happened in the past. Though she wasn't ready to admit it yet, that she still wished to be with him, to pick up where they'd left off and start a family with him, she felt torn. Her gut instinct told her now was not the time to try and make it work again. A time for that would come, but not now. Not with so much going on. She gave another soft, thoughtful sigh into his fur and lowered her head to rest her forehead on his shoulder, hand still resting against his chest, the other holding her up.

This was a dream. Illusion. The peace she felt on the outside was a lie. Inside, she worried for him. Would he ever situation himself properly into the pack? His old age told her to be weary. That he'd die someday, long before her own life would come to its natural end. She knew she'd have to face a day where Shawchert couldn't come back to her and the thought of it sent a shiver down her spine, unwelcome and unkind. She also worried for his health, how much it had declined since they'd lived together in d'Arte. Whatever those bad people did to him, she hoped they would burn for it. He'd lost his tongue, his freedom to shift, and for that she wanted to reap revenge... except, frustrated about this as she was, she could never know who'd done such things. She would never know about any of it. He would never tell her, even if he could, and she knew that by now. She just wished he would.

WC: 342/ OOC: Oi those wounds are fresh Tongue

In Character

He felt defeated at she seemed confused by his atrocious word he didn’t blame her though it seemed she was not going to push him like normal, which had attracted him to her at one point. Her own dominance over him was what he had loved about her, and her beautiful voice. He couldn’t help thinking about his shattered flute, and the one he lost just outside Salsola’s borders after his tongue was taken. He wondered if it was still there, laying out in the open waiting for the elements to eat through the case taht protected it and then the same for the flute itself. He had mourned for it many nights as he had mourned for his children, Orin, and Sky.

The physical contact was different from what he was getting use to in his slave home. Physical contact was denied him from anyone else, though the woman that had taken a liking to him did not keep her hands off him, but in no way showed affection for him. He stiffened as she put her head against his shoulder, and wasn’t sure how he should react. His love for her was hidden deep down but with the hurt she had given him a while ago, it would take more than him returning and her showing a bit of affection towards him, at least he hoped this is what pack did, though he doubted he would get use to or would do any of this for some time.

He let out a deep breath and moved away, unable to look at her, his one ear folded back in shame and he was unsure how to react. He didn’t want to be enemies with Sky, that was the last thing he wanted, but everything that had transpired between them had gone deep, especially when it came to Taliesin and she had born live puppies for him, it was evidence in the two that bounced around the cabin the few nights he lived in one of the cabin’s rooms.
