This is for Anselm, Firefly, Haku, and Talitha. That posting order should probably work. In order to keep this moving, after two days anyone who cannot post will be skipped and we can powerplay out what happened. :]

indent There had to be a final stand, and this was it. Gabriel had found Anselm and the two had gone to the shed. He had explained to the girl that she was going home, and then they had left, moving as a unit with Marlowe following ahead. Gabriel was grateful the bird had come back, and the raven’s eyes would let him know if an ambush was waiting. From where they were now standing, Gabriel could see the border of Dahlia de Mai, and even now, he was filled with a vicious hatred. They might not have deserved to die, but Haku did. One day, he would rip that man’s throat out and tear him asunder.
indent For now though, he had more important things to deal with. He howled, demanding that Haku come to the borders and bring his daughter, stating all too clearly that they had brought their hostage in tow. The golden eyed male spared a glance to his cousin and the girl, but said nothing. Now they would wait.

A restless sort of energy consumed him; he'd been anticipating this particular day for many. Now that Sirius lived in Inferni, he found himself scrambling to feed not one, not two, but three mouths. Even more ridiculous was the fact that one of them belonged to an enemy! He'd certainly be glad once this nonsense was over and done with, and even more importantly, he couldn't wait for Talitha to get back home.
His mind raced, ever threatening to jump ahead of him and get carried away, but every so often he'd glance at their captive to keep himself in check. This was no time to lose focus, and there was no reason to assume that everything would go smoothly; things seldom did. If Firefly decided to make a dash for it, he'd have to be on her heels in a flash. Part of him hoped that maybe she'd respect the relatively nice treatment she'd gotten from him during her stay and cooperate so that Talitha's safety wouldn't be jeopardised, but he wasn't going to hold his breath.
Gabriel sent out a call and Anselm glanced around, ears pressed forward, as he waited for someone to show up. Having nothing to say, he kept silent and busied himself with his own thoughts.

Firefly ignored both of her escorts as she moved along. Her mind was afire with a million thoughts distracting her from any want to escape. She'd already been beaten dispite Anselm and his little guardian's attempts to keep her in a liveable condition. She'd lived, that much was obvious, but the child inside seemed to have been poisoned, numb to the truth of what had happened, slowly driven by the boiling hatred that Samuel had planted in her soul along with the seed in her womb.

She stumbled along between the two as she closed her eyes, finally dropping down to her belly as Gabriel called out to Haku to bring his daughter. The normally spirited and devilish girl didn't want to see Haku or anyone else at this moment, she wasn't even sure she wanted to see the light of the next day as slowly but surely the twisted reality of what had been done sank into her mind. The little tramp had learned her lesson before the hybrid had got his hands on her.. now it was just guarantee that the hatred and violence was not over yet.

He had only been waiting for the call, really. For once he knew he had proved the rest of them wrong. Everyone saw him as the big bad wolf, the monster. Yet, he had treated the little de le Poer rather nicely, in his own opinion. The worst part for her had probably merely been the fact that she had been locked up inside a building. He had not abused her in anyway, and somehow that surprised him. He knew what he was capable of, knew what he could do. Yet, he had not touched a hair on her pretty little head. Oh no, a princess demanded proper treatment, or so Haku though. He did not answer the howl. Instead he had locked up the door and opened it, then shifted swiftly to the halfling form, and told the girl that he was bringing her back to her clan and her father. Yet, if she tried to pull of an escape, it would hurt her health. He hoped that she would respect the exchange. But.. If Firefly was hurt, he would not care at all anymore. He would find that soft and young throat and rip it out, and let his father watch her die before Haku himself would crumble under the fallen angel’s wrath.

No, Haku had not been fair in this war, but it was not his role either. There was no good and evil any longer. Only sin and more sin. Innocence could be spotted here and there, but it was a rare treat to come upon such a being, and last time Haku had touched a soul like that, he had ripped it to shreds, leaving the being bound and broken on the floor. He was a sinner, yet, he did not mind. The demon pulled his strings, and the chocolate male did not know the meaning nor feeling of proper regret. This was the world they lived in, and he did as he chose, simply because he could. When the time was due for the flames to lick his feet and drag him down into the everlasting inferno, he would be ready and acknowledge his since. Haku would have no regrets. This was him. It was the demon that had formed him and clipped his wings. He was the fallen angel. Gabriel followed God, Haku followed Satan’s servant. This world was fucked up.

As they drew closer to the borders, three figures followed with the scenery, and Haku threw a sharp glance at the young hybrid by his side. She was young and filled with the energy and swiftness that the youth held, but he was close enough and forever prepared to leap at her if she did a too sudden and suspicious movement. Closer, closer. Haku watched the leader of the Inferni. He understood fully. He knew he deserved to die, but Gabriel was no different. The Lilium of Dahlia de Mai knew the hybrid too had committed his own sins, no matter how they had been committed or what belief may lay behind. They all deserved to die, and they would. In the end they all died. And they would all die alone. Haku stopped at a comfortable distance. Though the whole Inferni hated him, he himself carried no ill feelings connected to the clan. As always, he somewhat admired them, and he saw beauty in their handling of things. Though, he would always be hated, and it was very likely one of those fangs over across the borders would end his life one day. If that was what was destined for him, then that was all good. Haku did not fear death.

I trust this will happen smoothly, gentlemen? The Dahlia wolf’s voice called somewhat softly out to the enemy part. He refused to look at Firefly, but the male supposed even Talitha could hear his heart pick up the pace and beat roughly against the scarred chest. How could one define love? Haku knew nothing of love, but he knew he could not stare into the emerald eyes of the female without weeping. So he avoided her beautiful frame and settled on Gabriel. He just wanted Talitha gone and Firefly close against his chest.

Oi, sorry you guys. X_x I've been busy as hell.
This is set after the Andre-Talitha thread I never finished writing out, in which she gets raped rather brutally. 8D Yaaaay. And then I decided not to bring Andre back. Doubleyaaaay. (I figured it would be a good idea to uh reveal what happened, and then have Andre get the fuck out of there after covering his tracks with funny smelling herbs, so I might finish that thread sometime... Maybe.)

</style>

A heart beat somewhere; her sensitive ears could hear it. Somewhere close; that was Haku. She lifted her head a little, allowing her broken figure to slump more against the wall to support even the slightest movement. At first she had been fiery and stubborn, but after... That... She hadn't said a word. She hadn't moved but to eat or drink. She didn't even flinch when Haku shifted into his halfling form, and she didn't smile triumphantly when she was told she was going home. No. She couldn't think of anything but Andrezej. She hadn't really been told anything about him except that he was a bad coyote, but she had witnessed that first hand. Her legs were still bruised from his abuse, and her wrist was still sore, though not broken. Thankfully not broken. If Haku or any of Dahlia de Mai had noticed the difference in her, nobody had said anything.

Her body moved of its own accord, but her steps were heavy and not very lively at all. Her head swam with horrific memories of the event, and it was all she could do to block the sound of her own muffled screeches out of her ears. They had been as loud as anything to her as he had pounded her senseless with fists and thrusts, but nobody would have heard a thing past the cloth he had shoved into her mouth and made her gag on. Her throat bobbed as she swallowed and bit back the desire to moan out her anguish at having those pictures and thoughts plague her mind constantly.

Talitha wanted nothing to do with the Lykoi name after the event. She wanted to abandon it, knowing such a horrible and cruel and ruthless man existed who also carried it. As they came to a stop, she looked up to see her father and Anselm, and relief did fill her, but she immediately dropped her gaze and let her shoulder-length dark hair fall across her eyes. She didn't want her father to see the lack of light in her eyes, the plea of death in her eyes. She wanted nothing more than to curl up and leave life, so she could leave those memories.

Between them there was a figure sprawled on the ground. She gave Firefly only a brief glance as she started at the sound of Haku's voice. So jumpy; Talitha had never been jumpy before the incident. How had he even found her? What had he had against her? It all seemed so planned and perfectly executed, as if Andre had been planning that for a very long time, but she couldn't possibly understand why he had come after her. She couldn't remember ever having seen him before, and especially not having done anything that could possibly upset him. The brother of Arkham and Rachias... But how was he so different from them?

A rapist. A killer. He had spared her but only so he could show Gabriel what he would do. He had fled — perhaps he was truly just a coward — but he had taken every inch of the desire to live out of her and carried it with him. Had she been old enough she would likely have been more afraid of carrying his spawn than of the fact that she was raped, but she was only a child. A young teen, perhaps. And she was a raped hostage standing there, quivering on her own weak feet, looking at the ground upon which her father stood, wondering why God had not saved her from the robbery of innocence, knowing what they could not. What they would not, hopefully; it was her little secret, her little chunk of death to carry on her bosom and hopefully never worry either of them with.

Omg Talitha and Gabe need a follow up thread. :O

indent The moment he saw Haku, Gabriel wanted nothing more then to leap forward and rip the demon’s throat out. It was self control, that remarkable self control that kept him still. He stared head, eyes cold and remarkably blank. He did not let the anger show, the rage, the hatred he carried. Even if the chocolate male could delude himself to believe they were no different, Gabriel knew they were. He served a higher purpose. He was not the one who had raped and tortured women and children for sport or revenge. Gabriel had done nothing except God’s Will, and he had been set to burn.
indent It was his daughter that caused his blood to burn. Even if she showed no visible signs, he knew. Something had happened. Something terrible and something she would not speak of. A terrible shadow darkened his eyes and he spoke shortly. “This ends now,” he said flatly. “Keep your wolves away from Inferni and we’ll stay away from your pack.” His eyes betrayed a separate intent; I will be the one who kills you, don’t you dare forget it. We still have our war, but it’s just you and me. Motioning with his hand, Gabriel signaled that the girl could now move.

ooc-slight out of order I know.. I gotta get these up because the storm is really starting here now.. Sad I made them sortof blane thatway the other char's post can go around them..

She turned her eyes away from the figure that had appeared along the border, she didn't want to see him, she didn't want him to see her, to be able to look into those orbs that cast to the very depths of her soul. She shivered slightly as the winds creeped along her pelt as the leaders spoke. Her ears flickered back and forth as she stole a glance at the girl who was to be her trade off. Something about her nature seemed to sound as a ringer to Firefly, as though she was looking into a broken mirror of herself. Her heart handed in her throat as she realized that some horrid fate had to have fallen to the child while in the lands.

Her emerald eyes turned to Haku accusingly, though she had no clue he wasn't to blame this time. The terror that the clan member had left in her dreams seemed to filter out as her heckles raised, wanting to get as far away from the dreams, from the half moon spent in their lands, from the male before her.. for what she believed he'd done to the mere child that seemed just as broken as she felt.

The sudden gesture came from Gabriel and without a thought in her head and not waiting to see what Anselm had to say she crashed by the hybrid leader of Inferni and with a fear filled glance towards Haku she barrelled into the forest like a spooked deer. The woman wasn't in control for once and the child was just along for the ride... mere instincts made her run, the world couldn't be trusted, she wouldn't trust them.. she couldn't.

ooc: DaVinci is nosy.. and wanted to see his sibling returned.. only here for plot reasons though.

The dark steele hued hybrid had made his way silently towards the border at the call for Haku. He knew he wasn't welcome to the trade off, but his sister was the item at hand that Dahlia de Mai had been waiting for and he wanted to make certain she was alive. He knew she'd been beaten and bruised in the confines of the shack but the depths of that abuse he'd never learned.. the clan had become alert to the two who were snooping about the confinements and Alexey and himself had fled back to the packlands..

Now he stood behind Haku and off to the side, having came up as Haku was speaking to the leader of Inferni, a character that DaVinci could remember well enough. His dark stormy eyes watched the leader as he gave the signal for the captive to be released. DaVinci wasn't for certain what Firefly was thinking but he'd seen a wild bolt of emotion pass through those normally calculated eyes before she'd shoulded past Gabriel and exploded off into the distant forest.

He took a step forward but didn't chase after her, the elder brother had learned long ago that she'd return when she was ready. He knew he shouldn't but the male spoke softly, his deep voice dropping one command to the leader of the lands he sat in. "Haku, let her go..." His eyes had been watching the others as the trading took place and he knew they weren't safe yet, if Haku went on some made rampage at the reaction of Firefly there was still a chance he wouldn't escape with his life... nor DaVinci with his own.

Turning his dark weathery orbs back to where the lone girl now stood he waited for the scene to finish playing before him.. a weary feeling settling in his soul, knowing that he couldn't do anything about what his sister had been through but wait.

Anselm felt disconnected. It was almost as though he were watching the whole scene unravel from a different perspective. Even though there were a good number of people here, he felt strangely alone. Maybe it was just the kind of energy that was floating around; Talitha seemed absolutely destroyed. He couldn't help but grimace--there were only a handful of obvious things that could have happened to her. Rape, torture, starvation. He'd have to commend Gabriel later for not going berserk on the spot.
Firefly scampered off and he watched her go. His ears fell back against his head once another male showed up; what the fuck was this about? Gabriel had clearly called for Haku alone, and the sudden appearance of someone he'd never seen before put him on edge. At bare minimum, it was enough to snap him back to reality. His gaze stayed planted on DaVinci for some time, and he only broke concentration to spare a glance to Haku.
The situation was obviously very tense. At this point, Dahlia had Firefly back, but now there were extra pack members showing up and they hadn't safely left with Talitha yet. Not good. He glanced at the poor girl, tail swaying half-heartedly behind him, and waited for her to come over. The sooner that they got out of there, the better.

Truth be told, Haku did not know what had happened to Talitha. It was a flaw of his. He had believed he had kept her safe from the rest, locked inside a tall building with no escape routes. Else from being actually imprisoned she had been treated quite nicely. Haku had surprised herself. Though, he saw the looks from the coyotes, and his eyes darted quickly to search out the female's features now that his thoughts finally were settling and clearing his mind. His face did not change, nor the careless expression in his eyes, but he felt disappointment thick and poisonous enter his system. It was too late for any explanations, and the young female coyote would probably never see him again. Haku was the enemy, and she hated him. Maybe he should have taken better notice when her fiery hate and energy dropped below zero. He had just... not paid attention and just thought she was tired of her outbursts. He now knew that he had been wrong.

A swift movement and his darling Firefly was gone. For once he had problems handling his emotions, and a brief flash of disappointment dashed across his face. Then when suddenly another unknown male entered, he turned his face towards the gray hybrid and bared his fangs, knowing he would get the blame for bringing backups to the hostage exchange. He turned back to facing the two leaders of Inferni and lowered his features slightly, and took a few steps backwards before stopping up and watching the de le Poer girl slowly walk to her family. He was surprised Gabriel did not go for his throat instantly, as he very well knew that whatever had happened to Talitha was his fault. It did not matter what Gabriel would hear from his daughter. It did not matter who had treated her that badly. Haku had failed keeping the hostage safe, and only he could be blamed for her injuries.

Bit of powerplay, lemme know if it's too much. Also, sorry for the wait, I've been up to my nose in schoolwork. Dx[html]<style type="text/css">.byrequiem b {color:#bbc9df; font:9pt Georgia; font-weight:bold; line-height:1.0em; letter-spacing:-1px;}</style>

She was frightened by all the sounds and the sights of the exchange. Everything about her was visibly jumpy and uncertain, but the girl wouldn't admit what had happened to anyone. She, like Haku, saw the expressions in her family change as if she'd been slapped in the face with the certainty with which they had switched, and panic welled in her throat. It threatened to burst when the other wolf came onto the scene, because the immediate thought would be that Haku had tricked the coyotes. She was relieved when DaVinci stated his true purpose there, even if it wasn't explicitly said, and a little of the tension released.

When Haku walked away from her, she felt suddenly exposed and vulnerable. She took an instinctive step back, toward the man who had, despite not noticing anything, kept her safe throughout her capture, but then immediately rushed to the coyotes. She crashed right into her father, the tears already streaming but, somehow, she was still composed enough to say, It wasn't him, daddy, he didn't do anything.
