I like this table.

Adrian stopped at the edge of the deserted town and looked around. He hadn't passed through the large town the last time he had come to Nova Scotia. This time he decided to look around a little bit. The last time he had been in this area he had ran into Hotaru. Their meeting had ended....poorly. Hotaru, his twin sister, who he had grown up with as a pup, he run from him. There had been hatred and rage in her voice when she spoke to him. It had cut him like no knife ever could. And Adrian was at a lost for words. He, who had always had something to say, He whose voice was an instrument their grandmother had forced him to tune to perfection, had been speechless. When he had finally been able to think again, he realized that by then, she would be long gone. And he wasn't sure he could face her again. Not after knowing how she felt. So he had decided to leave and return when he felt he was ready.

He was ready now. He had come to a decision to track her down once again and convince her to forgive him. He would annoy her and pester her until she remembered how they use to be. And he would make her forgive him. Or he would die trying. Though he doubted it would get that dramatic. Adrian sighed, thinking about the fight he was in store for. Him and his sister could both be stubborn. More stubborn that....Adrian didn't know what. But he would find a way to make her budge.

Adrian walked down a lonely street, looking around at the buildings. He almost tripped over a crack in the road where some roots were growing from an old tree that was next to one of the houses. He frowned at the root, but kept on walking. He walked until he came to a big building with a brass bell at the top. One of the big wooden doors was open and Adrian could see the inside was light up by soft light filing in through the windows. Inside he could see rows and rows of seats. Adrian walked up to the doors and leaned his head inside. It smelled of rotting wood causing Adrian to wrinkle his nose at the smell. But still he stepped in and looked around. "Hello? Anyone else here?" Adrian called out in his clear voice. It carried through out the old building easily, Adrian having been trained to project his voice over large crowds. He didn't think he would get an answer but on the off chance that he wasn't alone he wanted to be sure anyone around knew he was hear. He stepped inside, looking at the windows which held colored glass. Adrian was fascinated by this strange place. He took another step inside and stopped, taking in everything he could.

Word Count :: 251 OOC: Sira's a chicken!!

It was amazing. Sira was out further than she ever was before. She went further than even the Vinatta pack. It surprised her to no end that here she was, alone and almost without fear. Well she really wasn’t alone, In a pouch that was tied tight to her person lay a kitten who’s head was poking out. Sira had found it in her pack and shifted to her optime to put it on before shifting back to her Secui, where she stayed and the kitten seemed to enjoy the closed space that was warm with her surrogate mother’s heat and excited she would go with Sira somewhere. The little calico’s head was sticking out as Sira moved around a building. She didn’t know what she was looking for but the hiding spots in this place was amazing.

The seats, though she did not know that was what they were called were easy to fit under, and she found old things. Even an old bone, but it was far too dusty to knaw on... though she did wonder where the rest of the bones had gone and wondered what it was the bones were made of. Her mind went off that as she heard a voice, she made a scared yip and hid underneath the chair she had been sitting on. Her hiding spot was perfect. There was only one problem. The kitten was meowing to Sira’s sudden fear and she dared not move to comfort the poor thing.

Adrian is a nice man though. He will sing for her >Big Grin

Adrian had just about given up on finding anyone when he heard the noise. At first Adrian wasn't sure where he knew the noise from. It sounded familiar but Adrian couldn't place it. Then he realized it was a cat. Or a kitten from the sound of the high pitched mewing. Adrian walked between the rows of seats, getting closer to the sound. Adrian stopped, looking around. It sounded like the kitten was calling from right next to him but he couldn't see anything.

Adrian walked forward a little bit, looking around. It wasn't until he glanced over his shoulder that he saw the seats were empty underneath. Or at least most of them were. The seat he had just been standing next to wasn't, under it was the kitten he had been looking for. And a jackal was with it. Adrian knelt down and smiled, "Well hello there. You can come out, I won't hurt you." He said, sitting back on his butt between the rows of seats. He was still smiling as he scooted back so the jackal would feel like she had some room to come out. "I'm Adrian. Adrian Kido. Nice to meet you." Adrian said, before the girl had even wiggled her way out from under the seat. Adrian was just like that. He was the kind of person who could run into a complete stranger and talk to them like they had been friends for life. He was a people person and it was a talent that helped him when he preformed. And Adrian did love to preform.

Sira’s heart leapt as the kitten mewed its confusion and she wanted to cry as she saw the man’s feet pass by her a little then turn, then she saw his face and she shrunk back more, the kitten wanted out now, but Sira knew it was a bad idea with a wolf where he was. She swallowed her body in full tremors now as he bent down. His voice was kind though, but she didn’t trust him. He was not pack, she could not trust him. For all she knew he could be with the bad wolves and was just trying to lure her out and bring her back to the bad place.

Even though he introduced himself and moved away for her to leave her confined space she felt far safer under the chairs than she did anywhere else right now. Her wide eyes kept on him and as she ignored the kitten it made a howling sound as it squeezed its’ way out of its own confinement and tottled over towards the man. “No!” She cried and as she was trying to get out her legs got tangled up. Her heart had leapt into her throat as she saw the kitten waddling to the man. She wanted to cry because she could not protect the poor calico kitten.

Adrian waited for the girl to move but soon realized that she didn't have any intention of coming out. That made him kind of sad, that she didn't think she would be safe with him. But he couldn't do anything about it. He just sat back and smiled at her and shrugged, "Okay, don't come out then." He said with a smile. He would just have to show her that he wasn't someone to be feared. That shouldn't be too hard. The only way that Adrian ever seemed scary was physically. The pure wolf was a giant of a man but he was a gentle giant. His passion lied in entertaining others and filling their lives with music. Not scaring them.

Adrian was trying to figure out a way for him to convince the girl he wasn't scary when her cat finally escaped from under the seats. Adrian held out his hand right as he heard the girl's yell of "NO!". He ran a gentle hand down the cat's back. Then he scratched the cat under the chin and smiled. Adrian began to hum a tuneless song, making up a tune himself. The cat climbed up onto Adrian's lap. He could feel it body vibrating as its little body made a purring sound. Adrian laughed softly at the cat as it kneaded its claws in his fur.

Soon Adrian was singing a song he had made up about a calico cat and a special milk pan. His voice was clear and smooth, making the building fill up with his voice but not the point it echoed. Years of practice and help from his grandmother had perfected his ability to form his voice however he wished. And right now he aimed for soft and clear. The song was just a humorous song he had made up on the spot, most of the words nonsense. But then again so were a lot of jigs he had learned growing up. It wasn't until much later he had learned harder more complex songs.

He was still running his fingers through the cat's fur when he glanced over at the female. The song didn't falter at all as he switched his attention back to the cat. That cat got his attention because it had come out to meet him. And because he always adored little animals like this. Maybe he would get one for himself some day.

Fear coursed through her body as she saw the kitten trot up to the man, but was surprised when she saw the man let the kitten up on his lap and then came the strange sound. Sira had never heard anything like it and she tilted her head, still scared as though the man would just lash out, but he was petting the kitten and in an odd tone singing something about a calico cat. The kitten was sitting and purring on his lap and soon she finally came out, her tail tucked and her ears pinned to the back of her head as she came forward.

“What is that? That thing you are doing?” She asked when she was confident enough he wasn’t going to hurt her, but it still looked like she would bolt, but not without grabbing the kitten if she could. She couldn’t abandon something she took so much care for and loved dearly. It seemed the cat trusted the man enough and that was almost good enough for the young jackal who sat now, almost within arm's reach but no longer under the seats in terror. “Who are you?” She asked suddenly, but wasn’t sure if that was being rude or not, she was starting to become aware of her actions lately, now that she was feeling safer and more confident in herself and she was trying to learn how to be a better.. was it “wolf” or “Jackal”? Which ever it was she wanted to be better.

He heard when the jackal finally scrambled out from under the seats. Adrian didn't look up from the kitten as he sang. He again scratched the cut under the chin and watched it arch into his hand. He smiled down at it as he sang. He didn't looked up when the female spoke. Instead he finished singing his song, pet the cat once, then looked at her with a smile, "What? You mean singing?" He asked with a confused look. How could she not know what singing was. Adrian had grown up learning about all the wonders of music so it mystified him that someone would know so little that they didn't even know what singing was.

Adrian scratched the kittens head once then looked at the female as she asked him who he was. I'm Adrian Kido." He said with a smile, "And who are you?" Adrian heard the kitten meow and looked down, he chuckled and began petting the cat again. He started to hum a tune to the cat, the tune to the song he had just made up. He decided that he would definitely get himself a cat.

Sira listened to his oddly soothing voice as he scratched under her kitten’s chin and she quietly thought ‘Traitor’ at the cat who was oblivious to said thought. Finally when he finished he answered her seeming confused; “That is singing, what you do with your voice?” She asked pointing at his snout. The word was not something she really heard, maybe once but she never really thought about words she heard so rarely anyway. She knew little to nothing herself, and was learning day by day now that she was no longer under her mother’s protection.

He gave her his name without any malice or unhappiness of her demanding his name the way she did and she seemed glad for that. She nodded, still keeing her eyes on the kitten; “I am Sira, and this is Kitten.” She hadn’t decided what to name the kitten, some names were good and some like Jaden’s she kept as an idea, but how could one just name a child outright? she wondered. “Do you know this place?” She asked feeling a little more confident he wasn’t going to hurt her. That didn’t mean she wasn’t going to be cautious though. She still wanted to take her kitten and run, but she refused to leave without the little animal that she was taking care of now.

what you do with your voice? Adrian heard her ask. Adrian glanced at her as she pointed at his muzzle. Adrian smiled as he nodded, "Yeah, that is singing. My grandmother taught me how to do it when I was younger." He said with a mournful smile remembering his grandmother. He missed her but he had moved on long ago. Adrian had had a childhood that was very rich with information. He had been taught how to read the basics and he knew how to read music. He had been taught about some of the human's habits, though again, it was tied into their musical history. Adrian was grateful for his good upbringing but he often forgot that others hadn't been so fortunate.

Well Hello Sira," He said, looking at her, then he glanced at Kitten, scratching behind her ears, "And Hello to you as well, Kitten." If Adrian wasn't careful, he would be tempted to take the little kitten him. But Adrian knew he would never really do that. He was to much of a softy at heart. "No, I don't know this place, sadly. I've only been in Nova Scotia once before. And I didn't linger then. I've just come back and I'm passing through." Adrian thought this place was amazing. "Where did you find Kitten?" He asked, stopping his petting of the cat and looking at Sira with a questioning look. He wondered where he could find a kitten around here.

Adrian and Sira talked for a little bit more. Eventually Sira opene up enough to request that he sing again. Adrian sang a little, and they explored the building some. Adrian gave Kitten back to Sira and then they parted ways. Adrian headed off towards Halifax Area.
